Let's be real, both are gross. Twitch should have cracked down on cam girls on their site long long ago, and their double standards are frustrating. However, don't let that distract you from the fact that Doc still slid into the DMs of a 16-17 year old child. Maybe it's not technically illegal but its still gross af.

@@Adderkop-b6k I'm not trying to make her sound younger than she was, I'm just reading between the lines of what Doc said. He said "She is the age of consent for her state," which is something you wouldn't say if the person in question was at least 18-19. And since we don't know her exact age, 16-17 is the range that falls under AoC in some states but still considered a minor to many people.
Second, the fact that Doc had to clarify that he wasn't sexting because it doesn't fit the legal definition of sexting, tells me that it was probably a talking point during arbitration. Meaning that his conversations were sexually charged in nature and probably beyond just jokes.
You'll probably never see the DMs, but if you wanna wait for the smoking gun, then that's on you.

It seems to me he had some very vague comments that could be interpreted as sexual meaning that's the reason they can't be completely defined as sexting. Anyway, I still want to see the texts before I dig my heels into what he said was wrong or not. I've seen people say very tame stuff and get cancelled for "racism" or other bs.

Here's the thing I don't get why people don't understand. Guy has went through every avenue of arbitration centering around this case and has won. Twitch admitted no wrong doing, law enforcement found no wrong doing, and ffs the bureau of child exploitation found no wrong doing and all parties found these messages to NOT be sexting. He's literally won every case based on this. Who gives a fuck about the "court of public opinion. He's innocent according to the court of law. We live in a country where you're innocent until proven guilty, and he was quite literally proven innocent. It's not the other way around. I find it extremely dangerous that the ideology surrounding the internet is "guilty until proven innocent".
Let's not forget, Cody was quite literally using this specifically to scalp tickets for his band w/ the promise of spilling "juicy" details. Those details never came. Ever think maybe because they don't exist? Guy never said sexual, he said inappropriate. That could meaning literally anything. Let's not sit here and act like we haven't cussed out a kid on xbox live before in a call of duty lobby who's spent the entire game trash talking. Not one time was any of these messages classified as "sexual" and the court of law quite literally found them not to be "sexual" by nature.
The moral of the story is, the internet is quite literally treating something that's been dealt w/ in the court of law as if it needs to be settled in the court of public opinion, when it doesn't, period. You're aloud to have your own opinion about all of this at the end of the day, but facts are facts.

@@TheAns51 So you'd give up your ability to win. You've never been to court before, you NEVER tell anyone publically that you're going to sue someone even if you were certain you were going to win.
Because while you know you are going to win, the case might take far longer now that the other party has more preperation. In some caeses, it gives them the chance to flee the country before you can file.
If what Doc is saying is true, why would you even want to give Cody or Twitch the chance? Especially Twitch because they're a massive corperation that can just pay to have you waited out.
There's no point in openly saying that you're going to sue someone and in a lot of cases it makes it even harder to win. Honestly, just let it play out. If Cody is sent into generational poverty then that's on him, if twitch gets a chunk of money ripped out from their pocket then that's on them.

Yeah it can sometimes take years for a lawsuit to be filed so announcing that you are making a high profile lawsuit like this is never recommended until the lawsuit is already secure.
In some cases it's fine, like Trump suing the NYTimes, because every piece of evidence was public and easy to find. There were no DMs that could be deleted or staff members to be fired and scrubbed off the former employee lists.
In a case like this where the second a lawsuit is mentioned the other party could legally delete any and all evidence of their wrong doing before the paperwork is filed so an announcement does nothing but hurt your case in the long run

EDIT: I see the narrow mindedness that I didn't prep for, so this is for you
Before you say "ah but Pewds didn't talk to a minor" listen, how do we know *YOU* haven't talked to a minor, you're behind a wall of security and anonymity by being nobody, you don't have a name in this business, but I can tell you for sure one thing, if you were, and the higher ups got tired of you, they would dig and rake through every ounce of dirt on you that they could find and in some cases distort or fabricate things just to rid themselves of you so they can push *THEIR* channels that they want pushed. (All the Twitch girls in this case)
If Guy is legally in the clear, then he has done nothing wrong and we should respect that, if Guy *DID* do something wrong, I can trust the woke weirdos would have made sure to bury him in one swift go, but they didn't have the evidence to do so.
Now; the people who watch Asmon and claim they are open-minded, are now hellbent on burying a guy found innocent of any wrongdoings... Maybe you're not as openminded as you guys make yourselves seem, maybe you're part of the problem with cancel-culture.

That's why Twitch had to pay him out for its remainder.
Every single person who is 100% sure doc did something wrong, what exactly did he do that was wrong? A court (and twitch's internal team) deemed it 'not sexting' so what does that leave you? B. Doc could not file a suit, save the money, not go through more arbitration, and be able publicly speak out, probably gaining more public favor than a lawsuit would. At the end of the day option b is more financially sound and has a better outcome for docs business. I believe Herschel 'Guy' Beahm should have approached this situation with more seriousness and presented himself as his true self, rather than as his online persona, Dr. Disrespect. Given his past controversies with cheating on his wife, it's particularly concerning. While the age of consent in many U.S. states and Canada is 16, it's still inappropriate for an adult man to be engaging with a 16 year-old in such a manner. It seems like he attempted to be discreet by using Twitch whispers, but was ultimately caught. Now, his statements appear to be more of a legal defense than an honest explanation. As a father myself, I understand the importance of such matters, and I believe it's crucial to avoid situations like this...

If a judge reviewed those messages and determined they were not inappropriate, that should be enough to settle the matter. However, I'm wondering-can doc still release the messages if the other person involved in the conversation doesn’t want them made public? Also, if he starts redacting parts of the messages, it could automatically lead people to wonder what else was redacted, potentially raising more suspicion.

What exactly is this 'grey area' you're referring to, where you imply he did something wrong but not illegally? Inappropriate contact with minors is clearly defined by law, leaving little room for ambiguity. Given that Twitch, the user, and the authorities have all concluded that no wrongdoing occurred, your demands for additional evidence, such as text messages from arbitration, seem like an attempt to move the goalposts. This insistence on 'more evidence' after a thorough exoneration-where the only accusation has already been pre-refuted by all parties-reflects not only a refusal to accept the established facts but also suggests personal bias, or worse, personal cowardice.

As someone who is probably the same age as the good doc here, I could frankly care less about what the legal definitions are. You ain't gonna catch me talking in any kind of way to someone 21 and younger. Customer service level talk and thats about it. I could really care less about this, "oh but its legal", horseshit. Just don't interact with minors if you're an adult. If they can't drink, then don't speak to em. JFC why the fuck is the bar so low to just be a normal person. Shit for my own personal preference I'd bump it up to like 25 cause the rarity of meeting someone with their shit together even then is like an epic drop. So, is he legally cleared? Sure. Will I always look at him with a side-eye tho? You better fuckin' believe it until I hear otherwise. Fuckin, "they're legal in their jurisdiction" smh jfc

If it turns out they were 18 or over then he’s a victim of character assassination. Any dude talking to someone with knowledge of their being younger than 18 should feel shame and receive public censure.

    1- it wasn't s*xting
2- most parties that reviewed the messages confirmed it was ok
3- not even the supposed "child" was disturbed in the first place, it was his ex-manager purposefully choosing specific messages that seemed inappropriate without context.

    • @SynthSy

Doc needs to show proof in order to defend his public image. By not showing proof or being allowed to show proof is hurting his public image, that's the problem.
He may have done nothing wrong legally, which is fine. But the public doesn't see that and that directly affects his ability to get sponsorships and conduct business.
Cody would need to be sued in order for him to show proof. You don't need to proof to call someone a predator, in the same way we freely call someone restarted or tell them to visit a home depot.
I am not a fan of Dr. Disrespect, but I don't believe that he can just walk away without repairing his public image.
