As someone who works at a bank, being 10k in the whole, if that account was still negative for say 30days, then the bank will do what’s called a “charge off.” Where they will bring your account to a zero balance and then charge you to pay that money back, and until that money has been paid back you can’t open ANY new accounts until that charge off has been paid.
That s correct, as I refused to pay TD Bank when it bought out my bank Commerce Bank, in NJ. Overnight, thousands of accounts were overdrawn because TD processed debits in a different order. For example, if Netflix tried to take money out and the funds weren’t available, Commerce would not pay and then id renew netflix when i had the money (im speaking of the dvd service before streaming in the early 2000’s). But TD paid everything and made people negative then denied payment on the important bills like car loans and mortgages. This reordering happened with no warning from the new bank. It was all over the news. So i switched banks before it was charged off and told them to go F themselves. All overdrafts accrued were because of what they did, not anything I did so I refused to pay it.

Back when debit cards first came out in the 70's, my parents while doing daily accounting for their business would notice multiple transactions would not debit their account. Everything from grocery stores to suppliers. They spoke with their bankers and it was out of their control. Their suppliers were paid, but the money never came from their account. They kept the money aside for 6 months before they spent it just in case, but there were times when the money just .... never came out of their account Sooo ... bank errors in your favor kinda-sorta existed, but those have been rendered extinct due to how instant and interconnected everything is in the current era.

funny thing is, there was one real money glitch at bank some years back. I can't remember the details, but basically someone found that during a certain window of time everyday, the bank's system doesn't properly log transactions on ATM, so money he withdraw during that time doesn't get deducted from his account. The dude didn't tell anyone about this, and just withdraw some money everyday. And he did it for quite a while, until he can't take the feeling of guilt anymore and self-reported to the bank and eventually the police.

My wife loves $1 Scratchers. @@kurtwinchell you can raise your limits on your account temporarily as long as you can prove it's likely coming from a legit source of funds, e.g. I saw a lot of people raising limits when the recent ISA limits increased allowing you to have multiples ISAs so I had loads of people asking to move £20k around and had to review each time. Oh and yes, you have the pay the money you stole back. Which means, sheriffs will take everything you own or any money you earn until the original money is repaid
Considering banks constantly screw people over, they should also face fraud charges. Who in the world ever allowed fractional reserve banking for example? They can lend money they don't have? Yehhhhh... that sounds fraudulent to me.
You can't commit fraud against banks as that implies that banks follow any sort of laws or regulations that you could violate, in reality it's more of a mob that you don't mess with because they'll hurt you. Honestly banks are more like money cult these days, so maybe sacrilege would be a better word.
I think people underestimate scammers a bit too much with "How could anybody fall for this? It's so obvious!" One time, my uncle who works on the tech industry related to online security said this to me. "To you, this email or a video is obviously a scam. It has wrong spelling, this and that the usual lines of blah blah blah. You instantly knew its a scam right? What you dont understand is those lines, those obvious look of a scam acts as a filter. These scammers are smart beyond belief. They are already filtering people they can make money with this template. If you fall for this, then it means you are a viable target to pursue. Otherwise if you catch on it then you are not worth pursuing as you are a harder target. Its like a green light and red light. Red means danger and green is a go. If people go forward when its red then thats the prey." That time I realized how much scary these scammers are.
It's a classic case with email scams. Because sending out emails is dirt cheap/free, but a fake page where you enter credentials costs much more to host.
For what it’s worth, thanks for sharing that comment. The idea of “obvious scams” being a deliberate filter to separate vulnerable people from those that would be too much effort to pursue never really occurred to me.
that quote from that Indian guy: "Democracy is when the people decide, but the people are stupid" has never felt more real, wtf even went through their minds, they didn't even think, they just rushed the banks immediately
The default complaint about politics is that the politicians and the system are corrupt, and while that is true, who keeps voting for these career criminals to remain in office for decades? The voters. The voters are the biggest problem.
Back in the day, in the US, you had to be a land owner to vote. Because as a land owner, it meant you had more skin in the game for decisions than those that don't (i.e. more to lose if bad laws were enacted), and because you had land, it was likely you were more educated than those that didn't have land either (that's not the case now of course). Yeah, not everyone should have the right to vote. That's why its a privilege, not a right, and wasn't in the bill of rights or the constitution.
Also how do you think he was acting when he took to 10k that wasn’t his. Probably all smiles, giggles, and good goose bumps when he makes someone else go down 10 grand but when they take it back that’s just too much and life is over.
Unfortunately,, it actually is in come cases... sometimes you wont be charged at all, or youll get a lighter sentence if you too stupid.. this is extraordinarily dangerous... especially cause the Western world is rapidly getting dumber.
I dont mean this in a racist way, but when you said, "They can just give the money back," i dont think you understand what you said. For people like this who are woefully undereducated people from black communities asking them to return money is like asking an alcoholic to return the beer you asked them to hold on to. That stuff is gone.
Also... it's weird for asmongold to act like that just solves things - they literally defrauded the bank. They're just cashing phony cheques right? This isn't a money glitch, it's just literally the oldest, most common fraud in modern banking - unless I'm missing something here? I admit I didn't watch the whole thing, and I admit I'm no financial wizard. But this is that fraud method is it not? But anyways, you can't steal a car from someone's garage then a week later just bring er back, no harm no foul. You committed theft. You done did a crime

Anything over 10k in this I feel is just fake. A bank is required to file something called a CTR for Cash Transaction Report and its filed with the Feds before you actually get the cash. No way an ATM is giving out that much money as cards have daily limits. The people with the fat stacks even if they did get it from the ATM its all in 5s and 10s. Check fraud will result in a Chexsystem report and they wont be able to open a checking account anywhere for the next 2 years.
Its also unlikely for them to withdraw over the daily limit of their ATM withdrawal, no matter how big the check is. So its unlikely to be able to deposit a 10K check and withdraw a 10K check at the same time, especially for broke people as they have much smaller limits...

All overdrafts accrued were because of what they did, not anything I did so I refused to pay it.

funny thing is, there was one real money glitch at bank some years back.
It was in Australia
"How are there people who are stupid enough to believe this?"

NONE of these thing end in your favor. It may be a temporary benefit, but you will be paying far more than what you originally received. And you will be sued into the ground if you do not pay them back. It's all there in the fine print that you agreed to. When you signed your name, or you clicked "I have read and agree to the terms of services"
Seriously, only thing I could maybe understand is gambling, if and ONLY if they put limitations on themselves so they can't go into the hole.
But the mass majority of the gamblers are addicted and believe they can't. And all I have for that is that they don't deserve the money anyways and good on the casino for getting it all from them.
I remember in an episode of Family Guy, the lottery was described as "a tax on stupid people". Pretty good summary! These systems wouldn't exist if the people running them were losing money.
In lottery and gambling, you still have a chance for free money, albeit really rather slight.
Gambling at least give you the excitement and anticipation, some people just gamble for the entertainment. Can't say the same for people who fall for scams like this.
My wife loves $1 Scratchers. She knows that she's spending more than she wins, and she's okay with that because the anticipation of winning as well as the rare thrill of actually winning a "big" payout is worth the cost.

Otherwise if you catch on it then you are not worth pursuing as you are a harder target. Its like a green light and red light. Red means danger and green is a go. just with blacks
Lol wake up
So this only happened to the basketball community. How could this happen to all these scholars, lawyers, and doctors?
Materialism, low-impulse control and the lure of easy money, without the ability to see more than 1 step ahead.
Imagine what they would do with reparations.

A lot of rappers in the music industry were struck bad too.
This didn't ruin a single life. Those lives were already ruined.
Every day I think that maybe uncle ruckus might've been on to something
What I love is that some people are complaining that banks should have safeguards to stop people from committing check fraud, but people in the past did have something to stop themselves from committing check fraud, it was called common sense, but apparently that is in short supply nowadays…
In the past u could get away with it
Businesses do have safeguards--for example, closing stores in certain neighborhoods.
Enforcing their own stereotypes.
It's just genetics lol
It doesn’t matter what you do because you guys are still gonna believe negative things anyway.

I love how everyone calling check fraud a glitch 💀
It's funny that you can see the common theme in all these "glitchers". It proves the IQ stats...
Chevy Chase Bank, You been Fletched bro
Why would anyone do this? Well for one, they're using TikTok, so that honestly explains most of it
Tiktok such a red flag
It's wild people wanna blame the bank. It's always someone else's fault. Basketball Americans are never at fault
Doesn’t matter. They end up broke and dead. In a few months, I’ll just make a deep fake clip of another “glitch”. Buy a few bots to spread it over social media, and you will see this happen yet again.
"Is this humorous to you guys?"
🤣🤣🤣
*Zoinks!*
A bank's ATM can file the report automatically. But that is not the only problem with the story.
Its also unlikely for them to withdraw over the daily limit of their ATM withdrawal, no matter how big the check is. So its unlikely to be able to deposit a 10K check and withdraw a 10K check at the same time, especially for broke people as they have much smaller limits...
The people participating in the glitch have no internal monologue
No no, they have it, they just turn the music louder to drown it out.
Desperation combined with a lack of financial understanding can make people do illogical things.
lol, that's funny you think this was out of desperation.
We wuzz desperate for Jordan’s and shittttt
@@RhodesianSuperiority 🤣
Desperation doesn't immediately lead to a shopping spree
Why buy when they can simply loot, of which there have been many, many, many examples of!
And not just during their peaceful protests either!
Every ATM out there has a daily limit of around $300, so there's no way the machine would spit out $40,000!
also ATM’s only have so much Cash inside of them

Since the founding of the Federal Reserve. Before that, money was gold and therefore real.
@@dereksbooks No, it still holds true even before we started using fiat money. It just became even easier to control people afterwards. There were slaves long before there was a banking system, and there will be slaves long after the banking system is no more.

2:57 If I were the bank's security chief, I would DEFINITELY take the blame, like
"Yes, I did that. I'm the one who made sure our bank and its systems are not further insecure. We let some of this glitch go cause we don't want to flag everybody beyond necessary, and we have teams to deal with that. Security was never even threatened"
