I agree with you guys. I see this a lot in London. Sometimes people just take the opportunity when it presents itself. I passed my test 10 years ago this December and I drive with due regard for other drivers like most good drivers do, but I also manage my emotions behind the wheel and watch out for dangerous drivers. Unfortunately there are some very bad drivers out there, and you’ve got to expect to encounter them and just do what you can to avoid a collision, accident and not allow road rage to get the best of you.

Why? Did the van do anything wrong here? Assuming it was already ahead of the car filming by the time it pulled out, it's not clear to me whether there was any moment at all at which the van driver could even have SEEN the car - either directly out of the left window or in its left mirror - until the moment of getting rammed by the filming car. The van was in the correct lane, and was clearly the first to pull into the exit road (since the van was the one getting rammed from behind). Looks to me like it was 100% the car's fault, but the van driver suffered the majority of the consequences.

The law states that motorists shouldn't use devices, the same should be written for cyclists. The same for helmets and bells in regards of horns and seat belts.

He could have braked and it looked like he didnt give way to traffic coming from the right-hand side. You are meant to give way to all traffic coming from the right he doesnt do that, he then joins the roundabout going quicker than the traffic in the inside lane which is bad practice.
But never brake tho if you have right of the way, OR feel more important.

@@ed8519 the silver van cut in front of him, literally cuts past the exit lines and into the hash markings. If what you said was true there would have been a collision way sooner. It seems like the van started from the same entry as the dashcammer but decided to change lanes last second, without checking his blind spot....
Having said that he should definitely have slammed on the brakes instead of ploughing right on. Could have been the situation made him panic but the first reaction should have been to assess and brake, not carry on....

The larger responsibility is on the adult AND the person who is the less vulnerable road user (the driver) to drive slower than the speed limit when visibility/conditions are bad.
Lot of these just required a bit of patience and courtesy to other drivers ffs. If someone is halfway out of a junction just stop and let them out not scream like a lunatic at them
The problem with that is, more and more morons will do it. Causing chaos and allowing Anarchy on our roads.
Not to mention Insurance pricing will reflect on When and Where (it does anyway, but will get MORE expensive than it already is) we drive/Ride.

@SpiderXD The van might not have been in the wrong. We cant see him in his lane from the camers angle but we can see the bike. The cammer joins the roundabout without giving way to traffic coming from the right, which the van is doing. You are meant to give way to traffic coming from the right. He barely even gives way to the bike, he then joins the roundabout going too fast as he closes distance on the bike to an unsafe distance. Not to mention he doesn't do everything within his ability to avoid an accident. If this footage was used, I would bet he gets found at fault.

Target fixation it's called. On a bike you basically naturally steer toward what you're looking at and all he could do was stare at the thing he didn't want to hit.
If he's not a new rider he should give up.
+ItsFriscoBaby not to mention too much speed, low sun and not enough light to justify what looks like quite a dark visor. Luckily he only took a little tumble. If not a new rider, perhaps a rusty weekend warrior at the start of the season or something like that.
And not just too much speed, the angle he was leaning at; the verge of the road was wet, if he had hit a wet patch at that angle he was always going to crash. New rider or long time rider he is way too risky, keep the antics on the track not the road. He'll get munched under the wheels of a truck some day if he keeps that up.
He wasn't speeding or anything. One of the hardest thing to learn as a new rider is getting the bike to lean over, going from a 125 to a big heavy proper bike, it takes time to man handle a big bike, if you get through the first year without coming off you're lucky.
I live in the same town as him and that corner is tighter then it looks on camera and it's also very slippery. Definitely going to fast

yeah - the car shouldn't have reversed into the camera car, but also the camera car should have managed to work out the guy needed to back up

yeah, especially going around the WRONG WAY!! I remember years ago when I was in London/England one time. I rented a car, and I hit a major "roundabout" at dusk, at rush hour, that had 4 or 5 roads (at least) coming into it. I think it was just West of London, a major road. I think I had to go around like 3 times before I could get out and onto the correct road. Plus steering wheel on wrong side, driving on wrong side, going round on wrong side, and a standard stick shift (which was not a problem cuz I learned to shift with my left had as a kid when my oldest brother was driving his Mustang).
I've always had one main question from what I've seen on the road, and this video just cements it: "why can't people turn corners?"

not even wearing a helemet. I Saw 999 on thw front line. The ambulance crew had gone to a women. She and her husband where in a park riding their bikes. She was not going fast fell off and cracked her head open blood all over the place. The Paramedic said you both need to get helmets. It goes to show what happens at low speeds.
