As a seller in my experience it's always better to sell with( auction) because when I use (buy it now) people never want to pay the price you set for an item. I've posted an item for $100 with (buy it now) and kept getting messages from people saying "would you take 30 bucks for it" 🙄 After getting enough of those messages I put that same item on auction and it sold for $130. So now I only sell on auction because if you're selling something valuable the price is always going to pan out to generally what the going rate for what you're selling is anyway

1:30 . Not exactly right. The minimum bid increment is based on the Increment Table found on their help page. Between 250 - 499.99 the min bid increment is $5. You would win for $405 if you bid $500. However. If your max bid was 400.01 - 404.99 you would win for your exact bid.
I never used the automatic bids and I won all my auctions, but this could be interesting. The only thing is sometimes I guess, you'll want to go maybe 30$ over the max you anticipated, so... yeah, I think I'll stick with the manual bids for now. But it can be nice in case I miss the alarm I set to place my last minute bids.

First question to ask the seller is are you shipping by USPS? USPS sucks. Your package will never arrive at the estimate delivery date. It be 2 weeks or months late or not delivered. I have a package is still in a distribution center in Memphis for 12 days. They haven't distribute it to the post office. The post office is only 20 minutes away. Lazy people are working for USPS. I'm only going to be buying from sellers that use UPS or FedEx.

you actually can buy with cash. if you find a seller that lives close by, just message them saying you'll meet up and pay with cash. usually they will agree because they don't have to deal with ebay/paypal fees and shipping, although they won't get a positive review. I have done this a few times (as a seller).

Those last second bids are tricky because you’re no longer setting a max bid. I just paid 40 dollars over the next bid because it wasn’t a max bid for some reason. Sucks. You live you learn. Came here looking for info on that.

However. If your max bid was 400.01 - 404.99 you would win for your exact bid.

You’ve gotta have paypal with your bank and shipping varies based on what you’re buying

You’ll get notified that you won the auction , but eBay will automatically charge you and notify the seller to ship once the payment has processed
