Wow that's a strong statement! What makes you think that negotiating the sample price is amateurish? From my own experience of dealing with different manufacturers over 10+ years, I think it's perfectly fine to do that and we did develop a good relationship with most of them. Some manufacturers open an higher price on their sample cost and actually expect a negotiation. This was coming out from the mouth of a sales rep after we became really close friend.
I bought many single items from Alibaba and had minor problems with some sellers. However, on a recent transaction, after paying for an item, the seller completely stopped responding after many requests for updates. Finally, I had no choice but to open a dispute for a refund. After submitting my evidence showing how the seller stopped responding with no updates ,nor shipping status, nor any explanation .... I was STILL taken on a ride for another 2 months before I finally received my refund.

The only thing that stopped me from importing goods is the complexity of the customs and epa requirements. Some suppliers advertise epa certified but epa says a lot of those are not due to some minor changes in the product. Maybe it is smoother with non gasoline powered stuff
Was trying to buy a mini-excavator. Contrary to what you're saying the price you may pay at the end may be cheaper, they have the excavators listed at very unrealistically prices. When you contact them, they tell you that's not a real price. Then hit you with a huge price.

@Regnald Aloyce this is Iam Authentic: trade assurance sided with me because I provided all the message transactions that's inside of the Alababa platform. 1st, I should add that if I had used whatsapp. I probably wouldn't have got anything. So, all communications need to be on their platform. Trade assurance said to me, "Yeah, you were screwed so return the product and get a full refund." It would have cost me over $2000 to return it. So, of course, at this point, I realized I was screwed. After 6 months of negotiations, I ended up only getting several thousand dollars of shit, the wrong product i couldn't use, and a small $400 credit. Secondly, never ever order anything that's not door to door delivery. I was stuck paying an additional $1200 to pick the order up at the port. Custom fees etc, oh also the 25% tarrif the US emposed on China "we pay that". Had the port allowed me to see the product, I wouldn't have taken possession of it. Watch your ass dealing with them. They are mostly liars that just want to call you Dear and shovel shit up your ass. That being said, I have had 4 or 5 other vendors ship door to door all fees included in their bids that everyone went well on. Cover your ass. Good luck

They will put whatever you want as a brand name because they can't be held accountable and they lie about everything. Be very very careful on their site.

They do ship door to door which is the only way to go with all of my experiences. Just make sure you screen shot all of your chat sessions for proof when errors occurs.
