I have a small business where I make my own goods and sell on both eBay and Amazon. My sales with Amazon is roughly twice but I enjoy getting the sales through eBay more. Amazon customers can be demanding and returns are more common. Seller support with Amazon huh? eBay has far greater seller support and they have a program for international shipping which the others don't. I have gotten several orders through eBay through International shipping and all I do is ship to eBay’s shipping center and not have to worry about International rates and tariffs. Listing on eBay is easier than Amazon. Getting paid is another big deal, never once had any problems with eBay and you have options. Amazon every two weeks and there has been times when that was skipped be cause of some glitch.

I tried Amz FBA for a while. Just know it is likely just a matter of time before they hold your inventory hostage for some unfound claim or simply destroy it...oh and then suddenly they are on the same listings selling the items directly, when you are the private label brand owner. So how are they suddenly selling your branded items...thieving maybe??? It is truly a good place to make more money than on some other platforms. Just go into it with your eyes open and read about what other sellers are currently going through to help assist you.

I appreciate your video, but let's not kid ourselves, there are some negatives to a few places you mentioned. Bonanza does no marketing at all, in fact they would much rather you do social media advertising on your own and this does not work for people who do not use social media. I guess the best thing about them is that they take care of all returns and other customer problems.

Honestly I thought the same as you once, but now amazon seems like a dream. Their policies/systems are clear cut, less legally questionable practices regarding holding of funds, less fees now unless you store items with them, dont need to do as crazy ad spends just to make sales, and you also have more control over how the ads work when you do spend on ads.

Does anyone actually buy from the 3rd party sellers on Walmart? I personally avoid them because they are significantly overpriced, also charge shipping and there are a lot of counterfeit products. I bought a Neutrogena product that I always buy from Walmart and somehow I mistakenly bought from a 3rd party and when it arrived I instantly knew it was fake. I can't believe Walmart allows the Chinese knockoffs as that is not only dangerous but also loses the buyers trust.
How’d you know it was a fake? I have had uneducated customers accuse me of selling fakes on amazon, and they’re WRONG. That accusation is very damaging.
@@albertodeulofeu5277 ugh I wish I could upload a photo on here. Usually you can tell just from the packaging. It will feel cheaper and the words will be spaced odd or the packaging will be completely different, it's a whole lot easier to tell when you've bought the product for years and have the real one to compare to. But the biggest indicator was the product itself. It had a completely different smell and texture and when I put a little on the back of my hand it dried sticky whereas the real one pretty much evaporates and leaves the skin smooth. I bought dove deodorant from Amazon for a little cheaper than usual and I used it for months and was thinking I had all of a sudden developed sweating problems lol but when I bought another one straight from Walmart I suddenly realized the Amazon ones were fake. The packaging was completely different - the bottle was smaller, the words were odd, the nozzle didn't spray properly and the deodorant itself felt different. I've bought many fakes over the years but I'm starting to learn not to buy certain products from Amazon, ebay or 3rd party companies. Granted the person who accused you of selling fakes may have just wanted to be able to return the product and it not be considered buyers remorse but then again maybe he's just got a lot of counterfeits and he's paranoid. Gillette razors, makeup products, face/hair/beauty products, sports jerseys, victoria's secret clothes, handbags, ugg boots, etc, etc so many things are faked and being mass produced in China and sold to people who don't know any better. I wish they would just ban the Chinese sellers but A) they would never because they bring in so much profit and B) the Chinese sellers are (supposedly) shipping from US facilities which makes it more difficult to tell. Trust me I get it. A few years ago I had a lady buy 4 higher end sports cards and try to claim they were all fake 🤦♀️ and the worst part is she got away with keeping half of them and damaging the others she did actually send back and I was too new to reselling to know I could file a police report and everything.

I did suspect major ecommerce portals like Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, Alibaba do not send collected State Sales Tax to the States but keep large portion of the Tax paid by buyers. For mall export to EU, Canada Australia I have to or by small buyer pays 23% VAT Tax and make US export more expensive. Ebay, Amazon itc collect the tax,
Great info, but I wish there were an easier way to sell some used clothing. I don't want to start a business, but I don't feel like doing a big yard sale either. I've given way too much to Goodwill already, which is basically making them rich by getting free stuff that I can only deduct from taxes if I file long form.
I do t trust having to use PayPal. They threaten people all the time. Maybe one day they steal my money. That’s the kind of thing they do. Any suggestions for other platforms. That don’t make you use Pal Pal?
I would not touch Amazon if you are a small business- You have no control over postage which must be purchased from Amazon - all products have to be sent tracked- Customer service is geared to favour the buyer. Common for buyers to scam you even with proof of receipt - Many seller are leaving.
I’m considering them but I know when I buy with them, they tell me to rate seller so they get paid. What happens if I get a buyer who doesn’t bother to rate me? At eBay that happens to me. Would it mean Mercari wouldn’t pay me?
I don't see these as apple-to-apple comparisons.......I have sold on ebay for 25 years. Nealy all my sales have been used/pre-owned items. These other platforms are for selling new items.
You spend more money doing e-commerce on your own and you don't get much traffic. It's good to start on other platforms first as you mentioned. But I wouldn't recommend Etsy. Too many scam artists!
1)Amazon - High comp as well 2) Your own store - higher out of pocket and learning curve for marketing 3) Walmart - Harder to get into the program for individual sellers 4) Bonanza - Good alternative, a lot less traffic and eyes on your products. 5) FB MP - Good traffic, ease of access but I feel people are not viewing it as a marketplace as much as they may the other alternatives 6) Wayfair, seems very specific. I don't like some of the changes ebay has made and continues to but it is hard to beat for traffic, low barrier to entry marketplace.
Nope. Almost none of these places are better for the sellers. They all charge high fees and make it extremely difficult for the sellers to make any real money. Shopify is a good place for an online shop, but then you spend twice as much time driving customers to it. All these online market places have gotten away from supporting their sellers and only into making money for themselves.
I am very surprised that this video did not mention Amazon's return policy. This is a huge difference between Amazon and other platform....in a negative way.
I’ve been in Ecom since 2005 and I cant disagree more. Plus all online businesses are more competitive now after 2020. eBay is still easy and you can make a lot of money.
@@shheellbbyy6532😂 prob cause it’s hella hard to sell on there and keep up with them for new comers but the guy in the vid isn’t wrong you would make a lot more profit if you got what it takes though
After ebay got rid of PayPal they started initiating returns without our permission than taking MORE money from us than we received from the sale. I don't know about other sellers but i can't afford getting paid 69.00 for an item than getting charged 85.00 for the return, than spending an hour getting the run around on the phone. That's a 15 dollar loss and an hour of wasted time. I imagine that either the big sellers just have to let it go because they don't have time to deal with it or ebay is discriminating against small seller's by making it miserable enough that they just leave. Ebay must be raking in a pretty extra penny. Imagine if they only skimmed 16 dollars a month from every seller and half of it goes ignored because no one has time to fight with the customer service bot about it. Mercari and postmark are nice for small sellers too.
Which platform can I sell second hand goods,, I do already sell on ebay, I also sell on Facebook it is cut throat on Facebook you never get the asking price, any suggestions
Is Amazon only to sell new with tag items? and if so does one have to have many of the same item to sell? or can one just sell one item with tag on amazon?
Amazon allows scammers to sell their goods. Amazon does not care sinc ethey get money. Fake SSD's. SSD's that are small but have firmware to state a large size. Outright fake name brand goods. Amazon is becoming risky to buy stuff from.

IM A NEW SUBSCRIBER I HAVE BEEN SELLING ON A FEW OF UR SUGGESTIONS FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW thank u
Amazon ...Yeuch. Don't have anything to do with Amazon. But thanks for the other alternatives .
Can you emphasize a little more on what dirty seller exactly means thank you
Interesting! In video advertising other 6 company to sell, but eBay, in the same hand using following tags: ebay, selling on ebay, how to sell on ebay, ebay alternatives, ebay alternatives for sellers, make money online, alternatives to ebay, sites like ebay, amazon, walmart, facebook marketplace, shopify, bonanza, ecommerce, ebay competitors, ebay dropshipping, other sites like ebay, website like ebay, ebay selling, sites similar to ebay, website to sell things, ebay sales, selling on ebay from walmart, make money online paypal, make money online easy, online business, online seller
I am small business since May 2001.
Yeah they stole $80 from my account.
Ebay is no longer associated with PayPal.
I would not touch Amazon if you are a small business- You have no control over postage which must be purchased from Amazon - all products have to be sent tracked- Customer service is geared to favour the buyer. Common for buyers to scam you even with proof of receipt - Many seller are leaving.
I'd like to leave them. Can't do it overnight though. Have to build business elsewhere online first.
Mercari makes it super easy to sell, i love it!!!
I’m considering them but I know when I buy with them, they tell me to rate seller so they get paid.
What happens if I get a buyer who doesn’t bother to rate me?
At eBay that happens to me.
Would it mean Mercari wouldn’t pay me?
@@charlottestarlet7371It means Mercari gives you the best rating and you get paid. I had the same question last night and looked it up😂
@@charlottestarlet7371they will after 3 days. Automatically. Last I checked.
Amazons and eBay are two different animals so to speak. I would like to learn more , thanks for sharing!
I don't see these as apple-to-apple comparisons.......I have sold on ebay for 25 years. Nealy all my sales have been used/pre-owned items. These other platforms are for selling new items.
Do you still sell on bonanza ??????
Etsy?
Great could you give more alternatives for selling - for international sellers.
Hello do you know anything about Chanel multi tools? Thank you very much for your videos Cyril
8:40 100X is pronounced "a hundred times"
I am very surprised that this video did not mention Amazon's return policy. This is a huge difference between Amazon and other platform....in a negative way.
Exactly.
It’s almost impossible to understand or figure all the fees on eBay. Everything is scattered and varies or they don’t show it at all!
I’ve been in Ecom since 2005 and I cant disagree more. Plus all online businesses are more competitive now after 2020. eBay is still easy and you can make a lot of money.
eBay takes a lot of the final sale and they can ban u for life for bullshit reasons. eBay is terrible.
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been on ebay since it's creation you are 100% biased and wrong.
@@slottygw2wvw842 🤣
@amazingoutours3476talking bout strict rules LMAO that EBay for you bruh
Amazon's fees are more but people pay much more. Amazon restricts most categories whereas they didn't before.
What about Etsy; haven’t tried it yet
Good place to sell.Have been making good money there for 10+ years.
Thank you, your videos are very well spoken.
New Seller on amazon Will not able able to sell single product becase no add button on you list
Correct me if I'm wrong but if I do not use a 3rd party platform, I would need to obtain a sellers permit and a get a business license, correct?
You need to get a sellers permit and business license no matter what
Nice breakdown 👍🏽
Why are they charging if it’s supposed to be free?
You can do an entire video on how get around Amazon category restrictions
ive had tooo many BOTS interacting with marketplace items, fake profiles
I sell on Mercari
Any way where can I buy Antminer 7 with affordable price??
Tried Bonanza 5 years ago with no success , has it gotten better ?
Shame on you as you said amazon good for new sellers dont lie
Why??
@@shheellbbyy6532😂 prob cause it’s hella hard to sell on there and keep up with them for new comers but the guy in the vid isn’t wrong you would make a lot more profit if you got what it takes though
Yes I have to agree Amazon is not good for beginners there are too many limits
Amazon is terrible for small businesses beginners and newbies!
What about Etsy?
I tried to sell on there but it was hard and I couldn't post anything. I can buy all day long though haha
Hey i sell kitchen appliances and install them aswell as gas whats the best site to sell?
Thank you
Came here to do a test....everytime I type "ebay" on a yt comment, it doesn't post. Or "abebooks" I don't understand why.
What's your opinion on eCrater? Thanks!
Never sell anything expensive on Ebay or anything that costs more than $15 shipping. It is too easy to get screwed by buyers.
from the research I've done, Amazon is hard to get 'ungated' to sell at all.
How about poshmark ?
I buy pre owned items. Amazon only sells new.
Do any of these alternatives have auction option like eBay?
I cant find bonanza on the app store
Hi, Amazon don’t ship many products to Puerto Rico.
Over here on these tracks.
Nice breakdown
I hardly ever shop on Amazon
A lot of eBay sellers drop ship their products from Amazon anyways…
Which platform can I sell second hand goods,, I do already sell on ebay, I also sell on Facebook it is cut throat on Facebook you never get the asking price, any suggestions
Thanks, that was really helpful.
Can I sell digital items on wayfair?
Is Amazon only to sell new with tag items? and if so does one have to have many of the same item to sell? or can one just sell one item with tag on amazon?
Amazon allows scammers to sell their goods. Amazon does not care sinc ethey get money. Fake SSD's. SSD's that are small but have firmware to state a large size. Outright fake name brand goods. Amazon is becoming risky to buy stuff from.
what about Mercari?
the ship has sailed on amazon
I just have one thing that I make and sell so I am looking for a place to sell this Item One at a time.
I have ~5k items listed on eBay , can you sync or import them to facebook marketplace???
Vendoo and list perfectly are platforms you can use.
Just wanted to say thanks...
Thank you for your excellent video !!!
Thank you, good overview
i would know why they do that ive tray me first listing and Hopla get suspended for no reason what F and etsy slot money ive send packaged receiver by client and they just suspende my account and didnt refund me
Ebay for frugal shoppers!?, yes I can attest to that as I'm one of those frugal shoppers LOL!
