Hairs in beard region are sometimes very dense and very thick . Whenever it happens it gives a darker shade to your skin. It makes the skin rough. Sometimes people end up having a lot of boils. What happens is the skin on the face is thick and whenever they are thick and curly slightly and whenever it curls and pokes the skin, it gives rise to a lot of inflammation and that is called as ingrown hair. So whenever the hairs are growing inside the skin, because of the inflammation people can end up having rash, or it can also lead to scars over a period of times. So how do we treat it ? Treatment is nothing but reducing it . So there are no other cream to take care of it. You have to reduce the hair to reduce this problem. Lot of people apply sugar, they scrub with honey. So these things are not going to give permanent treatment so what will happen is you will open up the tiny papules and it will reduce it superficially and so it will not avoid the problem. So to reduce the problem, you have to reduce the hair and then only you can get rid of this problem and we have to do laser hair reduction. So here we we do it for softening the beard. So what lasers do is it not only reduces the number of hair, but it also reduces the thickness of the hair and also it slows down the hair growths. So by that the hairs that are curly, thick and strong starts becoming weak and when the hairs are soft, they starts penetrating the skin. So when it is very soft . So that is how we treat ingrown hairs and this procedure is called as beard softening and as such laser hair reduction. So laser hair reduction we do regular multiple session till most of your hairs come down whereas in case of beard softening for 5 to 8 sessions where the beard becomes soft and this is how we can treat ingrown hairs in the beard area.
