Although I appreciate your comments regarding the production of videos I absolutely enjoy what you produce. The videos of your trip were outstanding both in quality and content. Your productions are very skilfully put together and I, for one, have missed your regular uploads. Please do not stop, if I have to wait for another Month or two then so be it but I look forward to the next update. Lotus?

Wow, thank you! Superb feedback, all I can say is I’ll try my level best to bring quality videos to you even if they’re not all that regular, I’d love to do another trip next year but I’ll have to see 🙏 thanks again for the comment and for watching!

What's the saying ''Quality, not quantity''
I must admit that some car orientated channels seem to put out too much content and a lot of it is repetitive - 5 things I hate about my car, I bought a cheap car and it's broken etc. but your are always refreshingly straightforward and honest Mark

Nice to see you back Mark.
Thanks for the new video with your nice looking MGB GT.
I recognize the situation you describe. The hobby of classic cars need to be in sync with the reality around; job, family, house and other things. When working under time pressure with your hobby, some of the passion, the fun, disappears. I think you have the right attitude to the videos, producing them in times when it's fun without feeling stressed about it.
We viewers are waiting here, and are grateful when you have something new to share about your classics, but take it at your own pace 👍

Welcome back Mark. Really happy to have an update on your projects. You absolutely should produce videos when it suits you, and I hope that means that you continue to produce content long into the future. Looking forward to seeing the Lotus back on the road in the fulness of time.

Nice to see you back! yes, don't pressurise yourself into making content for the sake of it- do it for the right reasons. I used to upload weekly at one time, these days it's more like every three months.. as and when the inspiration is there. As for the Jag, what a car, but if you're not feeling it then let it go- there are still enough of those around that you'd find another if you felt the need. The MG on the other hand, an evergreen classic. I've been in a similar quandary with one of my vehicles- it's a bastard to work on, it needs lots spending, time and effort but after a couple of years umming and ahhing it's a keeper, too many adventures past and too many more to be had. Others I've let go with ease no matter how much I thought I liked them- it's all about the memories and I'd say that MG is way more that than the Jag! Keep burning the petrol..

Thanks! Yeah that pretty much echoes my train of thought, ie buy back in later if I want to…. We’ll see, I’ve got to do some work on it regardless so I may decide after that I don’t want to let it go, hopefully I’ll get to keep it as I really do like it! 🙏

Great to see another video from you. Appreciate your honesty in explaining why the videos aren’t coming out too often, but I’d say not to stress about it, produce them when you can and for one will always enjoy them! Thank you for producing some interesting content.

Great to see you back, Mark! And the MG - best colour option. It looks to me like the middle section of your exhaust needs some support back to the chassis, as you have a middle section with two joints unsupported that will put the joints under strain? Just a thought.
Ref quantity of videos, you’re exactly right in getting the balance right and is nothing to be ashamed of. When your videos come out is up to you - and they’re great btw!

      @granblogismo  3 місяці тому

Thanks very much! Yeah I think you (and I think a couple of people who have said) are right about that unsupported exhaust, from memory I don't think the kit came with a central hanger but probably worth me looking into! Cheers!

Great to see you back Mark. I bought a 67 MGB GT a few months ago , and have been very busy catching up (ok, binge watching). There's a wiring harness, dash board, and new mild steel exhaust sitting in my garage. I finally have time, so maybe in a couple of weeks I will be out enjoying mine, also.

Hi Mark, I did wonder what had happened to you and I’m glad to see you back and congratulations on passing your bike test.
There are only so many plates one can keep spinning at any one time so there has to be compromise. I must say you have far more “toys/projects” than I was able to manage when I was your age with kids and a pretty demanding job. I think the law of diminishing returns comes into play at some point, I sold my bike in May as I just wasn’t using it and had just bought my MGB (now changed for an MGC) plus having the XKR, you can only drive/ride one at a time. You mentioned the members meeting which was great fun this year and I’ve booked my tickets for next year. However I can highly recommend the Spa 6 Hr Classic which was last weekend it’s an absolutely brilliant event over 3 days not overcrowded and at the princely sum of €45! All the cars you see at Goodwood plus additional categories. It’s also a good road trip, probably 600+ miles if you avoid motorways.
Anyway keep up the good work. BR David

      @granblogismo  3 місяці тому

Thanks very much for the comment, yeah totally right about diminishing returns, I’ll be sad to have to give anything up though so will see what happens 🤞 I saw a few pics from Spa last week and I thought that would be great fun to go to, maybe I will head there one year 👍

Love your videos, and it will take a lot more effort and time for you to make these than for me to watch them, but I've unsubscribed from other professional UA-camrs because I don't have time to watch all their content! As someone else commented its quality not quantity. Just really pleased to hear you will continue making videos when you can 🙂

Good to see you are doing OK buddy and passed your bike test.
    A) Family time comes first.
    B) Film stuff when you want to, like you said, it's a hobby.
    C) Me and the rest of your subscribers, looking the comments below mine, are not waiting with baited breath for an upload! It's nice when we get them.
    D) And most importantly, WTF you even thinking about selling the Jag!!!!
    E) Read D again!
    F) Looking forward to seeing what CC Motorbike you opt for.
    G) Did I mention D?
    All the best buddy

Thanks very much for the comment 😂 I’m hoping not to sell the Jag 🤞motorbike-wise I’ve been looking mainly at 600/650cc or around 50hp as I did my test on a 700 with over 70hp which was ok but probably a bit quick as a first big bike! I do really like the 900cc triumphs but maybe not as a novice machine!

Brilliant to have you back Mark. As so many others have said, the quality of your productions is off the scale. The videography coupled with your skill in the edit make for exceptionally fine films.
Obviously, you'll appreciate that I'd like more x100 content, but I always enjoy all of your videos. I personally think you'd regret selling the Jag in the long term, but you must do whatever's right for you and your family. If you do decide to sell though, let me know...(Also, I'd be more than happy to help you out with the thorny problem of all excess of tickets to Goodwood 😉).
Whatever you decide, here's to continuing content and hope to see you at a Jag event in the not too distant future.

@granblogismo it'll be in my 'new' toy, a TVR 3000M, before I set on it with the spanners to do a chassis refresh over the winter. I had been hoping to do a similar trip to your Skye one over a long weekend but I'm running out of free time this year. I'll hopefully be documenting my trip as I attempt to do a bit of a vlog for the first time.

American hot rodders use a product we lovingly refer to as "Shine Juice" that is a mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits that sticks to paint and rust and works as a rust inhibitor. It's not a product for show cars (unless you are showing Rat Rods) but it stop rust for some time because it soaks into it. You might try coating in an obcure area and see if it's something you could live with until you are ready to respray. Just a thought. Still love the channel!

My 2005 XK8 has an ABS issue as well , not looking forward to the service and MOT but is my baby and I love it
Keep doing what suits you not a load of people that either don’t care or don’t have the time or money to do what you do
I Subed after your last trip in the Jag , if it’s gone I will still watch what you do , probably skip the bike vids but hey you can’t suit everyone

had an ABS issue as well, turned out to be a workshop messing up some wiring. dont worry, these things respond to logic, i.e. issues can be traced and in most cases with the modern 4.2ltr it ain't the ecu. getting talked into changing it and the discovering that the old one was ok. grrr.

@davidfuters7152 hi yes I’ve read quite a few forum posts on it, battery is fully charged, I’ve replaced the sensors and the wiring to the abs module, the next step is either the abs module itself or as you suggest potentially the trigger wheel/reluctor ring on the hub could be corroded which I haven’t inspected so maybe that’s the next thing! Thanks!

Thanks! I don’t like to take ages washing it so I tend to use a generic car shampoo (wash ‘n’ wax type stuff) to get the body clean and I might use a wheel cleaner if there’s loads of brake dust on them but what I always do is apply this stuff called Carnuaba Speed Wax by Simoniz which goes onto a clean but wet car then washes off then you dry with a towel and it normally gives a good finish that repels water really well 👍
