I test drove it a few weeks ago after many other cars and had a very different impression. I got the performance version and while it was quick in the city which is clear for an EV with that power, it became ackwardly slow above 100km/h. Steering feels bad, terrible turning radius, annoying controls… but I love the design and the audiosystem is great. One day later I test drove a Macan, which was so much better at everything. It made the Polestar look like a broken car that needed repair. After driving the Macan I would never pay €80-100k for this Polestar. I highly recommend you to test it. For me even the ID 7 would be a better choice because it drives much nicer and is cheaper.

Very few cars use genuine leather anymore, even BMW, Mercedes and the usual suspects. Although 95% of people would never be able to tell the difference, and synthetic lasts longer, doesn't crease or tear, doesn't stain and is easy to clean.

They may have come a long way in terms of performance but they've taken a massive step backwards in terms of tech and electronics. It's so intrusive and confusing it's basically dangerous!
I rented a Polestar2 while on Holiday and it is the most impressive and frustrating car ever. Acceleration is incredible, drive is fun, tech is futuristic but all that fades away after a day. Had no idea how to unlock the car, had to use the touch screen to start the engine after going through a few swipes, going up hill doubles the battery consumption, opening the boot takes up 1% battery life 😅. My first day was done to 60% at noon. And I still haven't mentioned about the charging experience. Never again.
Saw a review of it on track in China, and this Polestar 3 is actually quick around the corner, the best electric SUV so far, thanks for the suspension actively compensating the weight.
I like the fact that they are all doing “green” recyclable interiors rather than leather. And yet charging a premium now. I like the fact that everything is controlled through touchpads and yet charge you more for it. I like the fact that interiors are lower quality and yet charge more for it. It’s relentless the way car costs have increased over the last few years. What will it be like when they are on,y allowed to manufacture electric cars. Will everyone be buying 30 kilo wat battery pick cars with a range of 150 ,lies as that is all they can afford. Where are on earth will the 60 + % of all, people who only have off street car parking charge. When are these variable going to be sorted.
A bit hard to understand but I get your drift. If you own a diesel or petrol car you cannot charge at home either. Times are a changin' as they say, and in a few years it will be as easy and as cheap to charge on a public DC charging station as visiting a gas station now. Tec is moving fast and so is the ev revolution, as the business case improves, so will the rest follow, just like in the 1920s when everyone suddenly decided a model T or A had to be part of their lives.
It's gonna be a long way until infrastructure will be built out in existing cities. Just imagine a terraced house street in any normal UK city for example. Decade long work at least.

So - another cookie cutter "premium" "SUV" that does away completely with physical buttons and knobs and throws everything on a tackilly tacked on giant Ipad in the middle of the dashboard. Blurgh! 🤮
I've said it before and I will say it again: The PROPER way to show a car as luxury / premium and above the common riff-raff cars would be by having PREMIUM MATERIALS FOR THE CONTROLS, not by getting rid of controls altogether.
Odin help me I hate this shitty modern trend of touchscreens and no buttons!

Really liked the scoop on the Polestar 3, but man, that IWC Top Gun watch just grabbed me. Gotta fess up, I'm kind of a watch geek. Cheers for spotlighting them both, Mat!
I test drove the Polestar 3 today and WOW! It’s superb
@harzan12 that's very contrasting to what has been stated in a number of reviews.
I'm interested in both the Polestar3 and Porsche Macan.
Need to test them back to back at some point.
Enjoyed every min of this video! You did great!
Really like this format. A bit faster paced (in the beginning) but not too much like some UA-cam shorts, etc.
The "flaps" at the rear corners actually have an important function- they help reduce turbulence and drag to improve aerodynamic performance 🧐
Oh, thank goodness for that.
And you get probably 1 mile more range with those same as hidden door handles.
@@mr.wizeguy8995 I improved the range of my Model 3 Performance from 315 miles to 350 just with my aerodynamic wheels and low-rolling resistance tires 😎
all the options on Polestar 3 website is not £85k it is currently £97,800
This one has pleather & plastic trim interior. Gotta (really) pay for the good stuff.
Just specked one by the time I’ve a deck neck and back cushions 98k nice car but not that nice. Mile per kw pathetic too. Sorry but still only one game in town. I just wish they’d make them better looking.
£85k Range Rover...no problem! £85k EV SUV... urgh, whinge, whine.
That's because everyone knows the £85k BEV will be £20-£25k when 3 years old. It's also why Dacia sells hundreds of thousands of their BEV Spring because it's £15k new and does everything one needs from a BEV.
If you want to travel the world or do high mileage journeys you won't buy an BEV unless you are a masochist.
Been waiting this review for so long! I truly love this car. Been seated in the back seat feels amazing and the proportion, the design and sound is very appropriate. Great video
How many people can actually afford this!? Thats why industry is in trouble.
This car is a perfect way to get BMW quality with Porsche dynamics for the price of an Audi
@@Kurre. Then I would just buy an Audi.
@@N1ckZ And loose quality and handling? Sounds quite stupid tbh…
@@Kurre. If you think Audi's quality is worse than Polestar or BMW, something is wrong with you. Also, handling? The Audi Q6 e-tron is based on Porsche's PPE platform and has the unbeatable Torsen quattro AWD system.
@@N1ckZ Have you been inside of a Q6? Well equipped trims are filled with black plastic and all surfaces you touch feel hollow… The headliner is rough and feels cheap, the sound insulation is not good for a car of that class and the Quattro versions cost at least 5k € extra and the larger battery is also an option making a decently specced Q6 15k more expensive than the equivalent polestar
I can't help but think that manufacturers are absolutely having a laugh at our expense with the EV prices.
They are when you drive it off the forecourt. Most salesman are sticking their middle finger up to you as you leave…….
@@Caneandunablewhat about the EV twinturbo cars?
@@purwantiallan5089 What about them ….
Great car at three years old when it will be £35k
I think the EV manufacturers are crying themselves to a fitful sleep rather than having a laugh. The niches in the EV market are not really fully established and finding one you can make a profit in might not actually exist yet. They aren't making any money, even at that price...at least for a good long while.
For £85.000 I expect genuine leather and wood instead of vinyl and high gloss plastic. 🧐
They are just one package away from reality, At least on the U.S. configurator.
@@cbotten106 luxury materials have been sacrificed in place of tech expenditure.
"Vegan leather". Bovines are vegans. How much electricity is used to make soy and whatever else into plastic? Does this last longer than the failing wire insulation used in the 80s and 90s?
Very few cars use genuine leather anymore, even BMW, Mercedes and the usual suspects. Although 95% of people would never be able to tell the difference, and synthetic lasts longer, doesn't crease or tear, doesn't stain and is easy to clean.
@GlitterGuru but they charging as if it's genuine leather 😂

Cars nowadays have come so far in terms of performance... that 4.5 seconds 0-100Km for a big family car is considered MISERABLE... 😅

You unlock with the key, the engine starts when you sit, opening the boot shouldn’t take even 1/100 of a percent lol. Musta had a lemon
Saw a review of it on track in China, and this Polestar 3 is actually quick around the corner, the best electric SUV so far, thanks for the suspension actively compensating the weight.
When are car companies going to realise that we don't want climate controls through a touch screen, it's both dangerous and annoying.
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
That load cover looks near identical to the one in my 2014 Volvo V70.
I kinda like the fact that used and recycled materials are now expensive 😂😂
8:08 creep? lol
That's a nice looking Fisker Ocean you got there
Polestar is owned by Geely, a Chinese company that also owns Volvo, Lotus and part of Aston Martin. Geely had 60 billion dollars revenue in 2022. Even if the Polestar brand dies, there is a big company behind it that can continue to support it and will be held accountable.
I believe the flaps/lips at 1:51 are to help shed air easier and make the car more aerodynamic/efficient.
