Kill Weeds and NOT Your Grass with this POTENT Combo
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2021
- If you’ve tried weed killers from the big box stores without success and are looking to take things to the next level, this video is for you. We’ll show the ultimate herbicide combination for warm season grass that kills most broadleaf and grassy weeds while minimizing damage to your grass.
The herbicide combination consists of Celsius and Certainty. They're both selective herbicides. This means they will kill weeds and not your grass when used as directed. When mixed together, these weed killers provide broad weed control in warm season grass like Bermuda, Zoysia and St. Augustine. Celsius and Certainty kills crabgrass, spurge, nutsedge, kyllinga and many other annoying lawn weeds.
The weeds will stop growing within 24 hours of application and within 7 - 10 days you should see them turn yellow as they start dying off. For stubborn weeds like crabgrass, a follow-up application can be done 2 - 4 weeks later if needed.

Ok sorry. Just stumbled on your video. I just wanted to say. I know your lawn is probably very grassy green and nice. But i don't suggest killing your weeds automatically. Ive learned there are other uses for many of them. There is one particularly that serves as a pain relief.
Sorry i guess just information i cared to share.
God bless you🙂

Hi Ron it seem like you use to be a teacher. My question, can i mix celsius and prodiamine on a bermuda lawn
Princess lawn cut care brought me here! Subbed!
It’s awesome how you recommended princess cut channel. Nice to see like minded folks working together. Bravo
Yes! Thank you!
My friend. You need to be doing commercials. This was awesome.
Maybe one day Andres. I really appreciate you watching.
100% professional for sure. Thanks for the videos!
Do the manufactures recommend mixing their product with others? Sometimes chemicals counteract each other. Have you ran into this issue?
They often recommend and offer guidance on doing so. I’m cases where you’re mixing product combinations that aren’t labeled, it’s recommended that you do a jar test. A jar test is where you mix a small amount of the products you’re combining to give any odd interactions to manifest.
@@RonHenry thank you!
Great video Ron! I think you're really mastering the tradeoff between long detailed content and short easy to consume content. No fluff here!
I appreciate that sir. It's a fine balancing act. I try to not make the content any longer than it needs to be. Thanks for watching.

@@RonHenry Great comment Ron. So many videos the backround music covers over the info. Yours is perfect, thanks!
@@dporrasxtremeLS3 Thanks Davil. I've played with different levels and had people that weren't the least bit interested in lawns, listen to them for feedback. Glad to hear I'm getting it right. :-)
Really GREAT presentation, no fluff, just the facts in very enjoyable way.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like you confident and assured tone of voice. Great presentation style.
These companies need to hire you for advertising purposes. This video is EXCELLENT, even for a lawn goober like me. I have a huge problem!! The previous owners NEVER EVER EVER treated the lawn, and I have every weed that nature could grow. I need something that kills them all, especially "wiregrass", Bermuda, crabgrass, dallisgrass, and lots of broadleaf. What's the best combo product to use this fall to get a better start in the spring? I saw your video on creeping charlie, so I'm doing that now, but the rest of it will need a one for all after the summer heat.
Thanks Cynthia. There’s not a selective herbicide that will kill all of those. If you’re looking to start over. From scratch you can use this product to eliminate all weeds and grass in your lawn. golfcourselawn.store/products/roundup-quikpro-weed-killer-5-x-1-5-oz-packs Dallisgrass is very difficult to control so you’re best bet is physically removing it.
Ron I enjoyed your clear and concise instructions. Very impressed with your video your a true professional!
Glad it was helpful James. Thanks so much for watching.
This is such a great video! Provides all the necessary ingredients with the links and just the right amount of information! Perfect!
Glad it was helpful Vijay! Thank you for watching sir.
This showed up in my feed today. This is what I have started using and it works like a dream on the kyllinga and chamberbitter that showed up this year in centipede this year after we had a hard freeze that damaged several spots. It takes about a week to start seeing the results and a few weeks to really know out the kyllinga but things like dandylions are gone in about 2 weeks. Yes, it's expensive but so is my time and this combo works without the lawn showing any signs of stress. I've used other products and the lawn yellows from it and it doesn't give as good of results on the broad spectrum. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work providing folks like me with information to help keep our lawns looking awesome.
Appreciate the feedback. I agree it's an amazing combination for warm season grass. It does a great job cleaning up weeds without discoloring your lawn in then process. Thanks for watching!
Man. I need this! I have spurge and crabgrass. Simple and to the point! Thanks for another quality video Ron!
Glad it's helpful Bobzilla661. Appreciate you watching. Let me know how it works for you.

Great video Ron. I love the fact that you stressed reading the label. The most important this that a lot of people just don't do. 👊🏼
Appreciate it Pacific Northwest Lawns! There are several different ways to apply Certainty and Celsius so it's really important to read the label. Did my best to convey that without getting too preachy. 😂 Thanks for watching!

@@RonHenry Staring at my yard yesterday. It's basically perfect zoysia palisades. This is it's best time of year with new growth and reasonable warm temps and moisture. Except that I have nutsedge all over the place, and it seems recent. I figured out what I had done wrong. I have been mowing the weedy part of my lot AFTER my main yard, then parking the mower on the driveway and blowing it off before I put it away, and it's then covered in grass clippings (and seeds). I missed my second application of pre-emergent this year, and presto.... Nutsedge. And some other weeds too. I've got some Certainty and Celsius ordered and I think I need to do a broadcast application, as this stuff seems pretty scattered all over the lawn. Dont' have the experience to determine if the zoysia will choke these out, but I think nutsedge is pretty tough and chemicals are a good call here. Hopefully I can get this done before it gets much hotter, and the wife has a big party scheduled in a few weeks that I'll have to do this after in case the yard gets burned a little bit... sorry to ramble. maybe others can learn from my mistake just how important the pre-emergent is that I got lazy with.....

Ron, finally the video I’ve been looking for. All the answers I’ve been wanting to know. Thank You
Nice F Perez. Really happy that it's useful. Thanks for watching.
This is awesome and agreed! although the herbicides from big-box have killed many of the weeds in my St. Augustine lawn, these products still leave a lot to be desired. I have never used professional herbicide before and now looking forward to moving on to the real stuff. Surely, this video is a great tool.
Glad this was helpful Yasmin. It's really not difficult to use the professional level herbicides. You just really need to pay attention to the label and follow the specified rates. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
Excellent content my brother! This is making me rethink how I’ve been using Celsius
Great to hear Desmund! Glad it was useful.

Fun video Ron! Kept me hooked the entire time and I don’t even have warm season grass! 😂
Oh and thanks for the shout out!
Thanks man! Appreciate you watching. You already have a great video for controlling weeds in cool season grass so it made sense to reference it. 👍😎
Awesome videos Ron! They are so well done, easy to watch, succinct, and very helpful. I have a Tif 419 lawn installed by builder less than a year ago. I see lots of common Bermuda in it. How does that happen? How can I prevent more from coming in? How can I get rid of it? Thanks!
Hi Turbo TylerIX. Short of pulling it, you'll have a difficult time getting rid of the common out of your Tifway. There's not really a herbicide that will target only common Bermuda and not damage your Tifway as well. If it' really looks bad, you could try having them replace the sod. My base lawn is Tifway 419 and had a bit of common in it as well. I just ignore it for the most part. When it's all mowed short, you can't easily see it unless you're up really close. Appreciate you watching.
Thanks for this weed killing combination. I just received Certainty and I already have a bottle of Celsius. Looking forward to seeing the results. Your insight and information is greatly appreciated.
You should get good results D J. I've gotten lots of good feedback on the combination.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I may have described my issue wrong. I did take you advice and purchased the tips a week or so ago. What I say were brass angled fittings that the tips were installed in, that's what I'd like to add to my arsenal.
Ohhhhh. The brass angled fittings an be made with these 3 parts.

I'll take that as a compliment! :-)
Ron, you have hit another home run. Been looking for a vid that attacks "my" weeds. Thanks.
Appreciate it Jon. Glad it's a helpful one. Thanks for watching.
This is the best tutorial video on UA-cam using Celsius. Love the comment about the box store brands end up costing you more over the long haul. I found that out the hard way. Also found out the expensive way I seriously need to use a blue or green dye because I get concerned if I hit a spot and end up spraying more than I should. The way you demonstrated how to apply this is exactly how I do it but I didn’t figure out the error in my way for a decade. Simple. Easy. Mix it up, spray, move on to other things. No reason to complicate killing common weeds in a warm weather yard.
I appreciate the kind words Joey. Celsius is an excellent product. We're fortunate to have it for warm season turf.
As always great video. This is a great combo I've been using in a dedicated 1 gal pump tank for spot treatments. I use such a small amount of product when mixing, both bottles will last for years. I recently mixed both at the high rate, took care of some nutsedge, crabgrass, and kyllinga. I accidentally over applied and a little by my mailbox. My Zenith Zoysia had some very slight yellowing and slower growth, but after a 3-5 days it was back to normal. The nutsedge in that area quickly turned black within a week.
Nice Christopher. Thanks for letting me know how it worked for you. It's not a cheap combination, but works really well. Thanks for chiming in.
The problem is Celsius and certainty have a shelf life of 3 years, these will last me 10 yrs on an area 3000 sq ft!
I have a 5 pound container of Prodiamine going on 3 yrs, this is the last winter I can use it and I paid $125 for it!😂😂😂😂
@Wardcreek 🤷♂️
Excellent Ron! IMO, a tracker dye is mandatory to prevent overlap (which correlates to an over application). Selective, post emergent weed suppression requires precision. Glad to see you using it. Another suggestion would be to use a battery powered drill and paddle mixer (like for mixing paint) to get a good, thorough mixture. Well done video... as usual.
I appreciate it Richard. I had a section of video showing using a drill to mix everything up. It made the video a bit longer and with it only being 2 gallons I figured most viewers are just going to shake the tank for 30 seconds instead anyways. It's a great point though. I should have left it in. 😬 Appreciate the feedback as always sir. Hope all is going well on your end.
@@RonHenry Makes perfect sense Ron. Please keep up the great work.
Or thoroughly mix your concoction separately, then pour into the water tank and shake.
@@felipelabomba848 That's an option too.

Now this is VALUE! Thanks Ron for sharing.
I appreciate you watching Brian. Glad it was useful.
Great video! Yes, reading the directions is good....but they most times aren't specific enough. Okay, it's good for so many square feet....okay, how heavy am I applying that? You FINALLY answered that question...spot spraying, and medium speed, leaving wet with no runoff. Only one pass on short stuff. Maybe a second pass on the other side of long stuff. THANKS!!! 👍😁
Happy it was useful Phil! Please share the video with anyone else you think would find it useful. Appreciate you watching. Thanks for the support. 🙏😎
Great video for the homeowner who is a novice when it comes to their lawn care.
Thanks dreamweaver. Appreciate you watching.
Awesome video Ron. Good info for sure!
The is so much Robert. I appreciate you watching.
Good advice, especially READ THE LABEL! I'm a professional applicator, and combos like this are my standard weed control fare
TWO thoughts: 1) Identify the problem weeds and study labels online to see what weeds each herbicide actually control.
2) BE AWARE OF COST! The professional-grade herbicides aren't cheap; they cost around $100 _each_ per container.
Totally agree Pete. The label is law. Also agree about the cost of these products. Granted they go a really long way but you really have to ask yourself if want to spend the money on them. Realistically if you're applying pre-emergent in the spring and fall, and mowing regularly, you shouldn't have big issues with weeds. Appreciate you chiming in sir. Always cool hearing from industry pros. Thanks for watching. 🙏😎
@@RonHenry My pleasure, sir! 😎 I've spent several evenings flipping between labels, looking for the most comprehensive combo for the various weeds in the Birmingham, AL area. It gets annoying at times...😉
Thank you for the video; I have a question, I’m Florida and I have St. Augustine grass is this combination safe for this type of sod?
@@freddyrojas1374 Yes Freddy. This combination can be used on St. Augustine. Be sure to read the label though.
@@RonHenry for sure, thank you
Great video Ron
Some of the prices for professional grade herbicide can be substantial, so it was useful to see just how little needs to be mixed in with water.
Overall I’m reassured that my purchase could go a lot further than I had previously thought 👍
For sure Shazia. In most cases, a purchase of these homeowners is going to last several years. If you're doing the other things right (pre-emergent and regular mowing), you really shouldn't need to use them very often. As long as they're kept dry, they'll last a really long time.
Ron Henry! This is a very good presentation and obviously, you are a Pro in the Green Industry!!! Keep Going !!!!
Appreciate it Don. I don't work professionally in the industry though. Thanks for watching.
Came over from Georges channel, appreciate the advice. Sub'd.
Thanks for stopping in Bullets ForTeeth! Glad the content was useful. Appreciate you watching.
Curious how safe this mix is when the lawn is used by pets. My dogs romp on the lawn every day, and I am wary of letting them do that after applying this . How long should I keep them off the lawn after an application? They sniff everything and often lick dew off the grass in the morning, so I am very concerned about their health if I use such an approach.
I would keep them off the lawn for 24 hours if you're trying to be super safe. Realistically once it dries you're ok, but give it an entire day just to be uber safe. Hope this helps.
@@RonHenry Thanks so much for the prompt reply.
If you have to wear boot, and glove, it's not seen safe at all.
Great video, now if you have a magic formula for Dallis grass in St.Augustine, ii south Texas lawns, I would appreciate seeing that,!!!
That's a tough one Brian. The herbicide that's really effective against Dallisgrass unfortunately isn't labeled for residential use anymore. Physically removing it will likely be your best bet.
