Awww we just called our baby boy Robin George! He was born on the 9th of July. George is my dad’s name. We chose Robin because my Granny passed away just before I found out I was pregnant & I love the saying, “Robin’s appear when loved ones are near”. I also loved Winnie the Pooh as a child - Christopher Robin and this lovely quote by him - “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you” I love that even though my granny never got to meet Robin, she had an influence on his name :)
Great list! My SO is named Julian. Haven't met too many other guys with the same name. Just wanted to add in case someone likes the name Dominic but it comes off too strong, there is also Dominico which is a variation of the name. I think adding that O ending makes it a bit softer. Also gives you the option to make Nico a nickname if you're not fond of Dom.
I have just named my baby boy Stirling Jay. I love the longer name with a short middle name combo, you can never go wrong! Loving all the names on this list
We chose Emmett for our boy born in 2020! A classic name but not very common today.. Unlike the similar name Wyatt which is super popular again here in Canada.

Sad part is I like all those names a lot but I can’t use them for my own kids! Also my younger sister is named Holland and I think that name should get some more love!
Not sure how feasible this would be and certainly don’t mean for every video, just thought when you were saying the ranking on the UK list… Is it possible one week to do a breakdown of the most popular names in the UK then where they rank in each nation? I’m from Scotland and sometimes when you say something is fairly high in the UK it surprises me because there are hardly any here, so I often wonder where that name would place in Scottish, Irish & Welsh charts! (I’m not pregnant by the way just planning names for my future kids lol). I love Barnaby but I can’t imagine a man being named it. Is it too childish sounding for a grown man? Like at a job interview “Hi I’m Barnaby” would it sound weird?
I think Barnaby works really well for a grown man! 😂 He could use Barney as a nickname and I know a few men with that name. At the end of the day I think that people associate names with people they know so if he was named Barnaby, people would just associate the name with whatever age he was. I don’t know if that makes sense hahaha (also I literally watch every one of SJs vids and I’m not pregnant either 😅
I absolutely LOVE Joel! ❤️It has been waiting on top of my list for ages and I'm so afraid it will start trending before I actually have a baby (as already happened with Leo, Oliver and Elias 😅)
Jasper! I was rooting for Jasper, so when it was first on the list, I cheered and scared the cat! lol I had a professor named Jasper Rose. Wow. The colors. One of the most beautiful boys names ever.
I wonder if the reason Nathan, Dominic, Jamie, Owen and Rhys/ Reece aren't that common now (in the UK at least) is because they were all in the top 100 20, 30 or 40 years ago, therefore dad names more than son names. I'm in my mid/late twenties and growing up I knew about half a dozen Jamies' (all boys), a handful of Nathans', ditto for Rhys/ Reece (again all boys) and an Owen (also possibly a Dominic but I'm not 100% sure)
Yes! you can really use anything as long as it fits your child’s personality, for example: my name is Bethany but my nickname is Betty! my parents didn’t want a Beth
Happy baby name Monday!! SJ, what do you think about the name Ilene as an alternative to Eileen? It's pronounced the same way; I've been considering it as a way to honor my grandmother since I'm not sure about the traditional spelling of Eileen.
I was talking to someone in a name group the other day who has a name that her parents modified to start with I her name Ilaina she said her whole life people have said her name wrong because they read the I as another L. Just something to think about ☺️ One of my close friends is an Eileen it’s a lovely name ❤️
You could go for something with a similar meaning to Eileen (bright, shining one) so Alina or Aurora maybe, or something with a similar sound to Eileen e.g. Isla or Lena?
My brother's name is Felix and he loves it bc it is so unique and not a lot of people named Felix. He is also always very lucky so the name has blessed him haha.
Love these, especially Nathan and Jamie. Struggling to name my 2nd boy (almost 4 weeks old!!), we cant agree on a name. My fave is Ryan Ari and my hub likes Leyton Leo but I feel it doesn't suit baby. Our 1st is Aiden Orion. Help very much welcomed from SJ/viewers!! :)
Great list SJ! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Seth Felix Julian Jasper Owen Also love Jamie but to me I see it more as a girl name ! Patrick I like too but I think id use it as a middle spot to honour my late grandma Patricia
Probably smart of Henrik to veto Barnaby as a first name, it means "child village" in Swedish, would have been a bit strange haha. But it's so cute in English and works great as a middle name! :)
In America, many of these names are much higher. Owen, for instance, is very popular here. I have a friend with an Owen and Nathan! Joel is also fairly high here (my brother is also Joel!). My son is named Reeves but often gets mistaken for Rhys/Reece.
My baby boy was born in February and I watched A LOT of your videos while I was pregnant. We named him Lochlan Finn...thought he would go by "Finn" but Lochlan seems to fit him better as of now...I picture Finn being his cool teenage name when he is 16, but we will see :)
Timothy (my dads name) is our middle name choice for a boy. Arden Timothy ❤️ currently in my two week wait so we’ll see soon if we can take our name choices seriously or not 🤞🏼
My grandsons are Adrian and Victor. Adrian’s mother is Peruvian and they call him Adri sounds like “ahh” and dree rhymes with tree. He’s a teenager now and been a saint his entire life. Victor is a toddler and we call him Vic and he’s a little ruffian with a sense of humor and drama.
Robin was on my list as an honor name for a grandpa Robert. Owen too. Love it! And I love that you mentioned Ladybug and Catnoir, my girls love that show😄
I need help. I'm due in December with my second boy. No idea what to name him. All our names are 3 syllables long so I was thinking about sticking to that so everything flows. Our first baby boy's name is Gregory. Our current short list is: Edison (my husband's favorite so far) Finnegan Emeric Julian Devereux Oleander Ainsley Remington (my husband's second favorite, I like the nickname Remmy) Anyone know any other 3 syllable boy names that flow/theme with Gregory?
We just had a little boy and named him Atticus Victor Henry. Victor was his paternal grandfather and I'm really pleased we could use it because it is so handsome 💕
i also *really* like the name auden. which i took inspo from benedict cumberbatch's son, hal auden. but you can also base it from the famous poet, w.h. auden.
I like so many of these! I think I like Nathaniel more than Nathan. I attended a school connected with St Dominic, don't think I could use it :-) I almost prefer Padraic to Patrick. I love the name Owen, it appears back in my family tree as a given & family name but but we already have an Owen currently in my family. Vincent used to be my absolute fav boy name :-) Miles has the same feel as James to me, classic but beautiful. relatively
I love love all of your suggestions 💕 As a french person it’s often weird pronounced in my language .. I love Alfred! I hope that in the future, when I’ll be pregnant, to give my children a name that can be pronounced in french and in English 💕
In our family Miles is a family name and several generations have a Miles. Another branch of our family has Nathaniel as a family name which is a more traditional version of Nathan. We also have a Timothy in our family. Alfred reminds me of Alfred the Great as well as several other Alfred.
My little brother is called Owen Patrick :) I love that both his names were in this video!! We have Irish grandparents and my Mum wanted a name that would suit him all his life!
This list is up my alley! There are so many Adrians and Julians in Malaysia. Here's a name list suggestion/challenge - Classic Malay/Indonesian names. We have roots in Sanskrit. Or if that's tough, maybe just an Asian name list? 😁
I like Dominic and Seth, I agree with Timothy being underused but I wonder if Timothee Chalamet will help with its resurgence. As a Julianna I always find it funny but I’ve never loved the name Julian, maybe because it sounds incomplete but you made me appreciate it more with Jude.
@@ca147 like how she does in the video @10:15 :) “Reece” is another popular spelling, or “Reese”with an S is popular for girls (and for peanut butter cups lol). However, “Rhys” is the traditional welsh spelling.
1. I feel like Jasper suffered from the twilight era- like I loved Edward but since twilight it’s all I can associate it with and I hate it :| 2. I love Nathaniel and somehow Nathan/Nate feels like an Abbreviation. 3. Patrick, Dominick (about a trillion different spellings), Vincent (or the polish influence here: Wincent), Adrian, Julian are super common in Germany- everyone knows one. Andreas as well- we had 5 at our wedding. Would you consider Andreas the sort of name that would fit this list? I’m always fascinated by how countries so close together can have such completely different name varieties. Moved from the uk to Germany as a kid so I sometimes think if those names are common here my family back home must know them too and then they just stare at me like I’m crazy. And vice Versa really- no one, not a single soul I’ve met in Germany can pronounce “phoebe” correctly just from looking at the written name despite everyone knowing friends. So weird.
This is my kind of list SJ - all [ mostly ] names I really like. I can't get onboard with Jamie. This is cute for a baby but not so cute on an older male. I much prefer James.
As someone who has one of the most common names maybe ever, I still love my name so much. I should also say that it’s always a nice thing to find out someone has the same name as you!
We were messing around with our last pregnancy for names, and we have a few DC character names so far, so we were throwing name like Bruce, Wayne, and hubby jokingly said Alfred... And we both stopped dead in our tracks and realized we both kinda liked the name! We sadly lost the baby, but it's still on my list now
My boys are Nathaniel Hans Freddie (middle names are family names) and Sebastian Jude Lowen. I think Nathaniel and Sebastian are pretty classic boys’ names. We intentionally didn’t want anything too ‘out there’ and they seemed quite timeless to us. We also like the meaning (gift from God and venerable - respected for wisdom and character). We were a bit more adventurous with our daughter’s name and made it up: Ameliana Grace Rorie (middle names are family names). Naming babies definitely is one of the perks of parenting 🥰
Awww we just called our baby boy Robin George! He was born on the 9th of July.

I don’t know if that makes sense hahaha (also I literally watch every one of SJs vids and I’m not pregnant either 😅
I think the opposite! I think Barnaby is so grow up, I’d go Barney for a child nickname but go back to Barnaby as an adult! Xx
Aby could be a good nickname or even Barn, I could see Barn as a nice nickname for an elderly gentleman
I absolutely LOVE Joel! ❤️It has been waiting on top of my list for ages and I'm so afraid it will start trending before I actually have a baby (as already happened with Leo, Oliver and Elias 😅)
Fun fact: it’s incredibly popular with the Jewish community, at least in America :)
Some of these are great! We gave our son the name Simon, which is very uncommon in America but super classic.
Thankyou for putting my middle name Jamie on this list was shocked and excited when you said you liked the name Jamie thanks so much
Love this style!
I think Graham has become less common but is a very warm and classic name. I would also add Louis, Abraham, Solomon, Ivan, and Ian.
Love this! My brothers name is Seth (we’re American) and everyone loves his name.
Jasper! I was rooting for Jasper, so when it was first on the list, I cheered and scared the cat! lol I had a professor named Jasper Rose. Wow. The colors. One of the most beautiful boys names ever.
My brother is called Peter and even though everyone has heard of it I don’t know or know of anyone else called Peter which I always find so bizarre!
I like:Jasper
Finn
Freddie
Felix
Alfie
Nathan
Nathaniel
Nash
James for boy
Jamie for girl
Owen
Ozzie
Vinnie
Seth
Victor
Adrian
Julian
I have a 23 year old nephew named Victor Dominic. He is named after his father Dominic Patrick.
Love!
Just had a random thought could Monty be a out of the box nickname for Timothy?
Yes! you can really use anything as long as it fits your child’s personality, for example: my name is Bethany but my nickname is Betty! my parents didn’t want a Beth
Happy baby name Monday!! SJ, what do you think about the name Ilene as an alternative to Eileen? It's pronounced the same way; I've been considering it as a way to honor my grandmother since I'm not sure about the traditional spelling of Eileen.
I love it, but almost wanted to pronounce it as [ih-len-ah]. Perhaps that's just a mainland European thing though 🤔
Ilene is lovely! I think the pronunciation of Ilene is more intuitive than Eileen and I think it's more atheistically pleasing than Eileen.
I was talking to someone in a name group the other day who has a name that her parents modified to start with I her name Ilaina she said her whole life people have said her name wrong because they read the I as another L. Just something to think about ☺️
One of my close friends is an Eileen it’s a lovely name ❤️
You could go for something with a similar meaning to Eileen (bright, shining one) so Alina or Aurora maybe, or something with a similar sound to Eileen e.g. Isla or Lena?
i know sooooooo many nathans - it was super popular in the uk in the early 2000s so there are lots of older teens called nathan
We have a Jasper!!
I think Wesley and Joseph are so strong but soft and common but not too widely used
Great list SJ!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Seth
Felix
Julian
Jasper
Owen
Also love Jamie but to me I see it more as a girl name ! Patrick I like too but I think id use it as a middle spot to honour my late grandma Patricia
Looking SO beautiful and in this setting 😍
Excited to watch. I’m sooo picky with names, esp boy names haha!
Seth is such a great name, it is biblical too, one of Adam and Eve's sons!
What middle names would you pair with Marigold and Rue?
My fiancé’s little brothers name is Vincent! I love it and I always want to call him Vinny or Vincenzo and he hates it! 😂 (They are Italian)
Arden Timothy ❤️ currently in my two week wait so we’ll see soon if we can take our name choices seriously or not 🤞🏼
Can you do a baby boy name list of all water or ocean themed names? We are expecting in March and just found out we are having a boy.
My friends just named their baby girl Jasper after the flower 😊
I love Jasper for a girl!
I love this list!! Adrian and Julian are literally at the top of my baby name list and I’ve actually added a few more from watching this 😂
My grandsons are Adrian and Victor. Adrian’s mother is Peruvian and they call him Adri sounds like “ahh” and dree rhymes with tree. He’s a teenager now and been a saint his entire life. Victor is a toddler and we call him Vic and he’s a little ruffian with a sense of humor and drama.
@@celesterosales8976 aw such a great mix of names!
Our current short list is:
Edison (my husband's favorite so far)
Finnegan
Emeric
Julian
Devereux
Oleander
Ainsley
Remington (my husband's second favorite, I like the nickname Remmy)
Anyone know any other 3 syllable boy names that flow/theme with Gregory?
I feel like no one talks about Bruce but I love it
List of cool Bruces:
Lee
Banner
Wayne
Springsteen
I mean, they're bound to be a right legend
@@bellaboopixi What about Jenner?
@@maryowings5755 LMAO zing. Blocked that one out. But I guess s/he's still a legend 🤷♀️
We just had a little boy and named him Atticus Victor Henry. Victor was his paternal grandfather and I'm really pleased we could use it because it is so handsome 💕
Jasper and Owen have my heart but Sidney is my all time favourite alongside Francis ❤️
Great names as always!!
My partner is Julian and I think it’s so beautiful I’m looking forward to a julian junior!
Ooh these are my vibe.
i also *really* like the name auden. which i took inspo from benedict cumberbatch's son, hal auden. but you can also base it from the famous poet, w.h. auden.
Can you please do a part two for this and add more names? 🤗🙏
I like so many of these!
I think I like Nathaniel more than Nathan. I attended a school connected with St Dominic, don't think I could use it :-)
I almost prefer Padraic to Patrick.
I'm french and we have a Thea, Talia and Jasper
I love Dominic, Jude, and Timothy.
My brother's name is Rhys and he's gotten compliments on his name all his life!!
How do you pronounce Rhys?
@@ca147 like how she does in the video @10:15 :) “Reece” is another popular spelling, or “Reese”with an S is popular for girls (and for peanut butter cups lol). However, “Rhys” is the traditional welsh spelling.
1. I feel like Jasper suffered from the twilight era- like I loved Edward but since twilight it’s all I can associate it with and I hate it :|
This is cute for a baby but not so cute on
an older male. I much prefer James.
I love Alfred and would love it for my son due in December - but it's the number 1 name for boys in Denmark in 2020!! 🥺
As someone who has one of the most common names maybe ever, I still love my name so much. I should also say that it’s always a nice thing to find out someone has the same name as you!
My name is Alfred and my birth month is December… go for it! 😀
I don't want kids but my number 1 boy name pick has always been Julian with the nickname Jude.
My son is Owen! I think it was actually at #52 in the US when we chose it.
