I would love to see a Faerie/Elven themed list! I am hugely interested in folklore and I’m sure a lot of fantasy authors would like a name list like that
I really love the name Finneas but I grew up with the Disney cartoon Phineas and Ferb and don’t think I could ever shake the image of that orange-haired triangle head.
We have a baby boy called Fox! We had a lot of disapproving comments, but so many positive ones too! It suited him so much and sti does, and were finding many more people naming their baby Fox too! Foxley is a nice alternative !
Oh my god we’ve been in love with Fox since we were pregnant with my last baby and we were SO glad that we had a girl because Fox was the only name we both loved and we were too scared to go for it. Now I’m pregnant again and we don’t know what to do if it’s a boy. We care way too much about what others think 😂😂😂. But it’s so adorable!
I nearly went with Fox but I’m a red head and thought a ginger Fox would leave a bit too much for potential school playground meanness 😢 He turned out blonde!
OLEANDER 😍😍 gone to the top of our list for babe 3! We were considering Alexander but couldn’t get over the dullness. Also Memphis in June is one of my fave songs and it mentions Oleander, and my other 2 have songs with their name in so that’s nice 😍
I once had a co-worker who had a German husband. They named their son Leander. I assume it's a German name? Either way it was a great name for her adorable son!
Not a mom, but I'm currently starting to write a fantasy book, and thanks to this video I finally decided the name of one of my villans! He will be called Donovan, which I think fits perfectly for him because you said It means "Dark Haired Warrior" and thats exactly how I picture him ❤️
My surname is Deveraux, so funny to see it on this list! I spent my childhood hating it, wishing to be a simple Smith or something others can pronounce with no issues. But now I’m older I love it and love how unique it is (well where I live anyway!) ✨
My great grandmother was a Deveraux, I have always loved it, both as a last name and a first name. If I had of had children, I would have really pushed for it.
Ok, hold on, you listed 3 of my kids names?!! My youngest, just turned one is Albion Davis, n.n. Albie!!! I've never heard anyone mention it before! Donovan n.n. Donnie is our 5 year old. And Valentine is our 9 yrs old daughter's name! Wow!🤯
Hi SJ! I just found you today and spent all of Saturday with you. I’m expecting my first child and would love you to do vlogs on what you need for a baby, nursery ideas, anything like that for first time moms, and of course more Christmas vlogs bc they are like shopping with a friend! Love you already!
A current fav of mine fits this theme, Willoughby, I love it! I like Yves. I like Erasmus more than Rasmus. Peregrine is adorable. I will always associate Blythe with Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables :-) Woodrow is rather sweet.
THIS! This is my list, I spent so long looking at every list to find my baby name but this is the perfect blend and has all of my faves on. We ended up with Oberon Finch. I'm not planning anymore but if I ever had another boy I am in love with Valentine with maybe Jay as a middle name to keep the bird theme
I have a young friend who recently had a beautiful baby girl. She named her Vayda Jay. Wasn't sure at first but now I love it. She is absolutely precious and the name suits her.
Love Thoreau & Willard 😍 I’d add my son’s name, Warren, to this list. A Warren is a group of connected rabbit dens, and a commonly attributed meaning is park keeper, which are reasons why we chose it. Living very close to a national park in the states, we liked the park keeper association.
My Granddaughter is Sparrow. And I have an acquaintance who just had a boy and called him Sparrow. We (USA) have lots of Emersons (a contemporary of Thoreau- wrote similar topically) but I don’t know if I’ve heard Thoreau as a first name! I like it!
Knew a Ripley growing up in the 80’s, we called him Ripple Chip. And Cosmo is Seinfeld character Kramer’s first name (which had a whole episode about it) 😂 All the 40+ yr old North American moms may be more familiar with that one, hehe. I like Reignier (instead of Rainier spelling), pron rain•yur.
@@kaitlinbrown8174 ha! Good old Bill. I even tried to get "Strider" as a middle name but vetoed as well. I also like Olorin which is Gandalf's original name
My brother's name is Heath. Favorites from this list: Elliot, Jericho, Pax, Thatcher, Peregrine, Dante, Woodrow, Zephyr, and Ivo. I prefer Fox to Foxley, I think. I'd also like to suggest Rhys.
I absolutely adore Yves and have no qualms pronouncing it traditionally and Oleander has been a favorite for a couple of years now; it's in our top 2 alongside Edmond. Super random- but the facial piercing I have in the bridge of my nose is also referred to as an Earl piercing. So many great names on this list, you really hit it out of the park with this one SJ
I was awaiting this list after watching the girl equivalent from last week ☺️ One name I really fancy at the minute for a boy is the name Athens. It caters to a few different themes, but I think it is just so cool. Love the videos as always 😌
I love Oleander but in US we pronounce it “OH-Lee-Ander” so Ollie might not work as a nickname (but I LOVE the name Ollie). Foxley is a beautiful & wearable alternative to Fox! Such a wonderful suggestion! Albion is wicked cute, too! I love the name Albie and this is a lovely alternative that spouses might be more open too. Some names that also fit this theme might be: Larkin, Wolfgang, Lennox, Roscoe, Rafe, Evander and Auberon. You’re the best! ❤️
Omg Dune, (Any Aussies here, Bonnie Doon springs to mind 😂). I actually love Dune said in the correct way. How cute! It's quite surfy. Calle is so cute. But I fear that here it would end up being 'Cale'.
I went with Emrys but for a little girl. I loved Emma but wanted a more unique sounding name. So Emrys and I’ve been calling her that and Emy/Ema/Ems. Everyone loves it. Thank you so much.
Aalto is actually very common last name (though some has is as a first name apparently too). Actually, we had a very famous architect/designer in 1900s who was Alvar Aalto and I'm absolutely obsessed with name Alvar! I think it means "elf warrior" which is so adorable!
Vesper has been my #1 girl name for several years. Finally seeing it come to light for the first time on a baby name list! I also want to add I always hear the name Finnegan or Phineas, but I have had Flannigan on my list for a very long time and no one has ever liked it sadly. (It's from the 80s movie Cocktail if you're familiar)
I love this! We have 2 boys called Aven Bayou and Esai Cosmos. We don’t know the sex of our third but I keep coming back to your videos for inspiration.
Great list 👌 I think Sentinel would fit well on this list which means a soldier or guard whose job is to stand and keep watch. I love it 😍 I also saw someone name a baby Parallax nicknamed Pax recently which is lovely. Atticus would also work in this list for me
We were going to go with Emrys for our first son but we went with Emrick. We love it 🥰 I’m pregnant with our second son due on October 31st 🎃 👻 and have no idea what to name him.

If only my husband had agreed to it! I'm a huge fan of surnames/last names for boy's first names. My son is named Reeves. ❤️

Quite a list today. I like Elliot, Heath & Willard. I know a girl called Shiloh. Earl is a name that to me Americans would use, like they use Duke & Lord. Not an English thing I think.
It’s cool to see my son Donovan’s name on the list. We never meet other Donovan’s and in fact at the hospital all the nurses said they had never seen another donovan in their time working at the hospital. What about Jay instead of James? Sonny Jay 😍 I love bird names. My nephew is Sonny Thomas. Other options if you want a name ending in S that is a bit different- Ellis, Amos, Riggs, Otis, or Jules! 💙
I love Elias, but don’t know how well it flows there. Lucas? If you’re not looking for the letter specifically, and just want the sound, you can do something that ends in X. JaX, Pax, Rix, Nix.

Also, i think there were previous comments on another video about this, but Bayou is pronounced bye-you or buy-you, not Bay-you, as pretty as that sounds. :)
In the US we know this word well, but in other countries where it may not be commonplace, I think it could be fine to say it Bay-ou. I like that better for a name.
So I'm sure that you can pronounce Bayou "Bay-Yu" and it's probably pronounced that way in other parts of the world. But if you're from pretty much anywhere in the southern United States, you're probably going to pronounce it "BYE-yu." Louisiana has lots of swamps with waterways that we call bayous, and that word is kind of integral to rural Cajun culture. Bayous are used as sort of water highways in places where roads don't go through the swamps.

Oh wow, I grew up with a Kelby who now runs his family's farm! I never knew that was the meaning of the name.
