mrinal your investigation makes surprises to mallus, great effort by you. Also i would like to add one info to you that this coconut shell is a raw material for making activated carbon. Activated carbon raw materials are coal, coconut shell and wood. i have seen coconut shell activated carbon which manufactured from coimbatore and exported to petrochemical plants, there it is using to purify the chemicals( eg. ethylene glycol) in final stage to increase the quality. this coconut from its whole body to shell everything is raw material for making somany things.. great precious nut. but unfortunately it so hard to maintain in our kerala lands, expense is more and no profit for maintaining the coconut tree. So nobody interested to maintain this tree. anyway thankyou for sharing this info, waiting for next part bro...
Few years back I got order from Italy for Activated carbon made especially with Coconut shell. When I tried to buy from Kerala, the availability was less and the cost was high... Later I bought from Pollachi. Then i tried to put a plant to make Activated Carbon. But the polution control board refuced to give the clearence. So I droped the idea altogether. No headache in buying from Pollachy or Kangayam and exporting it.

We had copra business in alleppey, long time back. But labour issues and high cost paved way for Tamilnadu. In alleppey also Sulphur was used in 80s nothing new.
So are you saying that all the coconut oil sold today is adulterated? What then is the solution? How many can afford to buy cold pressed oil. As you have thrown up an issue what is the solution to this? Which oil can housewives buy? I think you need to tell us that also isn't it as you have now opened up a problem?
