    The Citiz are by far the most robust in the range. Our Citiz & Milk is still going strong after 8 years, and I notice that in the Nespresso boutiques (where there's usually four or five machines being run constantly all day) the other models come and go, but there's always a couple of Citiz machines that never seem to be replaced. Recently we also got an entry level machine (Essenza Mini) for our holiday cabin, and the difference in build quality is huge - it feels like a toy compared to the Citiz & Milk. I doubt it'll last as long either...

      Such great points. I had my citiz & milk for about 5 years before I sold it to get this one, and only did that as the other looked a bit ancient on these videos. 😂 They are a very sturdy machine. The mini is a nice little machine too if you can get it on offer, though, especially the magimix one. Krups one seemed a bit flimsy although what's inside the 2 minis is probably the same from what I've heard in the comments.

    Appreciate your reviews. Looking for a small pod machine for camping trips. Difficult to determine if a low end machine is worth it in terms of reliability and quality of the coffeed. Your Citiz reviews are certainly positive but in 2022 there appears to be no such thing as a Krups Citiz. Just Nespresso branded Citiz so unsure who the manufacturer is. Cheers

    Hi. Loving your videos but with so much choice I don't know what to buy! What would you recommend for someone who wants a mug of nice coffee (milk frother not necessary). I'm specifically looking for something which is a mug size rather than espresso sized....

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  3 роки тому

      Hi there, thats quite a tough one to be honest. As far as the function of the machines go the VertuoLine machines should be the right choice for you but personally I prefer the taste of the coffee from the OriginalLine and some of the new lungo pods Nespresso have released recently which we reviewed - World Explorations range - were really nice but it still might not be big enough for you if you specifically want mug size coffee. You can make Americano and long black by just adding hot water to the espresso and that could work for you. Might be worth trying a Vertuo mug sized capsule before buying a machine if possible to see if you like the taste. Understand that's not the easiest thing to do right now, though.
      Sorry if that's created more questions than answers but it's not an easy one to answer. On paper Vertuo should be better if you like the coffee and don't mind being tied in to buying capsules directly from Nespresso (Starbucks capsules may be available too soon but they are also made by Nespresso, so will likely not be much cheaper)

    First off, thanks for your channel, helping me a lot. Is there a video where you talk specifically about a comparison between the Citiz and the Lattissima machines? It looks like its down to those two machines for me and I'm not sure which one would be better for my use. Which milk frother is better, the aeroccino or the small one integrated with the Lattissima? Would use it every day and mostly drink cappuccinos and lattes. Cheers!

      Hi there. That's a great video idea but sadly I haven't done it yet, will try and fit it in soon though. Personally we do feel that the aeroccino and citiz combo makes a nicer cappuccino and latte and would definitely spend the extra £10 to buy the aeroccino 4, but know that some people prefer the ease of the Lattissima machines.

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  3 роки тому +2

      From what I've been told the machines are both the same underneath but just have different design features and trims. This can sometimes make a big difference with functionality - might be worth checking out our Essenza Mini Magimix Vs Krups video to see what I mean - but pretty sure the machine itself is the same, perhaps even made in the same factory. Also, as the Citiz is a bigger machine, the design differences may have less of an effect on stability etc. Hope this makes sense and helps 😅

    Difficult to choose between Citiz and Vertuo. Sent the Vertuo back and now purchased a Citiz. Did I do the right thing? How do you make a good mug of coffee + some cold milk with the Citiz? It seems that it is not realy suitable for a mug. I suppose you have to use 2 pods but expresso or Lungo. Otherwise can you just run the Lungo button longer for a mug or will this give poor bitter coffee. We also have the aerocinno to make milky coffees but some people just want a mug with dash of cold milk.

    • @A2BProductions

      Yes you do with the Citiz and all original machines, 1 (espresso) pod per espresso shot. The Vertuo machines have a few double espresso pods in case that is of interest. Hope this helps. We do have a few other videos on this too, they're on our channel page.

      @A2BProductions  4 роки тому

      I do find the coffee from the Vertuo slightly more bitter to be honest. If you're new to Nespresso, though, then there is a lot to consider like pod choice (some are supposed to be bitter and others less so) and whether you tend to like mug size americano style coffee or are more fond of espresso, latte and cappuccino etc. Do you have a machine already?

    • @tanjhdois837
      @tanjhdois837 3 роки тому +2

      Hey I would get the original (thé one in this video is good) if you typically like European style espresso or cappuccino drink. If you like more American style coffee like a Americano or just a larger more diluted oz of coffee then I would get the virtuo. The virtuo capsules are more expensive and tend to be directed more towards the American taste buds of flavored coffee (caramel, vanilla etc). If you just like a nice espresso with some foamed milk for cappuccino then go for the original. The designs are beautiful but more importantly the espresso taste great.

      Depends on the type of coffee you like really. I tend to drink espresso milk based drinks so prefer the original machines as they have more choice in the espresso range and I find the crema more natural (plus you can buy compatible pods), but if you like longer coffee then the Vertuo might work for you. On a tight budget I’d say the Essenza Mini or Vertuo Plus if you can find a good deal. Deals do come up and we mention them on here or on our social media if we can.

    Thanks for the very helpful video and for explaining things so clearly! I'm on the verge of purchasing the Citiz (Magimix version - or do you think the Krups is better?) but am thinking about the running costs with the pods, particularly as I use travel mugs quite a bit - do you have to put multiple pods in to fill a travel mug to the top? Or do you think the Vertuo is better for larger (ie. non-espresso) mugs and travel mugs? Many thanks!

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks, glad you liked the video. This question is coming up a lot, so going to do a video on different Nespresso recipe ideas for travel mugs. It depends also on what type of coffee you like to drink? I usually prefer the coffee from the original machines as think they taste better with milk based drinks (usually use 2 pods with milk) but for travel mugs I do find the Double Espresso Vertuo pods work well with milk and also Gran Lungo pods (like the Fortado) topped with frothed milk. With either option you want a machine that makes a good hot coffee in the first place, so that it stays warm in your mug for a good length of time. So much to say it probably warrants a full video really. Will do one soon 👍

      @@A2BProductions Thank you so much! Most of the machines are out of stock at the moment, so I am having a bit of extra time to decide, and keep going back and forth between the two models. We don't drink espressos and usually have either regular/large size mugs of coffee with milk or in my case a travel mug, so I am leaning towards the Vertuo on those grounds (no pun intended), but I take on board what you say about the taste being better and there being a lot more choice of flavours with the Citiz. Thanks so much for replying - I will definitely keep an eye out for future videos from you!

Usual subscriber here, I previously had the Expert machine (DONT RECOMMEND) and was sent away for repair 2 times within a few hours of returning back to me I had to get in contact due to more issues. It came back today with issues again so got in contact. They are sending me out a new citiz&milk as they think the machine is no longer working correctly so I’m now doing research and remembered that you have this machine. So I have a few questions if you could possible answer?
    > On the bottom of the machine has it got cable management to hide cable that’s not needed.
    > Is the machine quite loud, sometimes videos make them louder.
    > And is the machine build quite good, or us it quite plasticky 😂.

      Hi Kyle, sorry to hear you’re having trouble mate. In answer to your questions I actually gave my Citiz to a friend as a gift recently - we lent it them to try out Nespresso and they loved it so much we said to keep it - so struggling to answer the first question about cable management as I never used it. As for the noise though I’d say it’s a mid-range machine in that regard, not as quiet as the essenza mini but not as loud as the pixie either. The noise never bothered me with the citiz but we have a noise test video with various machines in case that helps. As for the build, the one you see in this video is quite plasticy but I think they do a chrome effect more premium citiz which might not feel as much that way. Maybe I should get that one to review if I decide to buy another one 🤔 Hope this helps a bit.

    hello! I am interested in getting a nespresso machine to have easy and pretty good espresso every day (trying to cut down on the amount of coffee I buy out). In your opinion do you think it would be a better idea to get a vertuo machine or original? I don't like how expensive the vertuo pods are, but it does seem more versatile than the original. Is the coffee really that different?

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  4 роки тому +6

      Hi there. If you mainly drink espresso or other milk based drinks I would go for an original machine myself. The coffee tastes less bitter from the original, the pods are generally cheaper, you have the option of compatible pods from other companies - which you don't have with the Vertuo capsules right now - and the espresso pod choice on offer from Nespresso themselves is so much bigger with original pods. We've got quite a few videos on the channel so do check them out before buying as they are very different machines. But please feel free to ask other questions too.

    So what are the differences between a citiz and crratista? My first thought is that with the creatista line, you froth the milk separate essentially. Why not by a citiz and an areccino 2 or 3 frother seperate and save some money? That creatista is 600 US dollars (USD) and a citiz with an A2 frother is 350 USD. Thanks 😊

    • @A2BProductions

      Hi Paul. We recently unboxed a Creatista Plus on the channel and also compared it to the Gran Lattissima in another video, so check those out if you'd like to see the Creatista in action. The Creatista machines are expensive but personally feel they are on another level when it comes to the quality of the milk froth (they use a steam wand instead of a spring) and they also make a really hot coffee too. Think there are 8 different froth texture levels and 11 temperature settings off the top of my head. That being said, Citiz machines have served me well over the years and the saving $ wise is obviously a big factor. Hope this helps a bit.

      Depends what you class as a normal coffee really. If you mean drip style coffee then it might not be right for you (though you could try a vertuo machine - we actually have a video where we compare the citiz to a Nespresso vertuo plus machine). But if you mean black coffee then this does make espresso and lungo and can make americano or long black by adding hot water to the espresso and vice versa to suit your taste.

      Out of those I personally like the Citiz and Aeroccino 4 combo in this video but can see why people might like the Lattissima. Hope our other videos and playlists can help you decide 🙂

    I was under the impression those new ones were here to stay rather than ltd edition

    I know you talk about the smaller Original line Nespresso machine being too small for a travel or larger mug. I’m wondering if putting something underneath to raise the height. Do you think that would work? I’m asking because I just ordered a Nespresso Breville Essenzia Mini...haven’t gotten it yet; so I’m not able to test. BTW: will be my first intro into Nespresso coffee and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to give up my Bunn coffeemaker, so I ordered a smaller Nespresso footprint to fit into available space.

      Hi there. Haven't used the Bunn Coffee maker (unless it's like a v60 coffee dripper) but have had a few essenza mini users on here say that they use a book to raise the height, so if you don't mind doing that then that would work fine I think.

      A2B Productions Thank you for the quick response. Bunn coffeemaker is really a high end drip that heats water quickly to around 180 F; which produces excellent tasting pot of drip coffee in about 3 min. Bunn’s are made in USA originally produced for commercial use and they decided to market machines for personal home use. It’s good to know, if I may want to raise the Essenza for taller vessels, it won’t be problem. Again thank you for your video’s and the wealth of information you provide.

      What I'd give for a true Italian espresso right now! You can reset the cup sizes if required to make it shorter by the way.

    you don't need a milk frother for lattes... Starbucks and Costa just pour espresso over milk.
