Hi 👋 Yeah that’s what I do. Pod in, pour, pod out, second pod in and pour the next shot. Also the mini will take any OriginalLine pods including the ones in supermarkets if they say Nespresso compatible but it doesn’t take Vertuo capsules. Hope this helps.
@@A2BProductions great thanks. I need to find an expresso that really gets me going. As I see the intensity’s vary. Great video. I purchased the mini so I’m super excited.

I highly recommend the Pixie! I’m using mine for like 5 years allready. I disagree you have to push hard. I press the ON button, put my cup under, press the espresso/lungo button and it will begin automaticly after the heat is settled. You can also manually set the pouring time by holding the button down for as long as you want and the next time it will be the same time. I once hold it by accident and the next time I got a 1 second drip. Took me a while to find the answer. That was the only downfall I had with her. Also, veryyy easy to clean and you can customise/replace the sides by your liking. I like the handle much more compared to the regular onces. Great review, i have the essenza mini and its great! The only thing is that there sometimes some black granules in my coffee! Is this plastic or some coffee? Does anyone have the same? And is the Citiz inside from metal instead of plastic?
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 It’ll likely be coffee grounds. I’ve seen them in the my coffees in the past sometimes. Do you use compatible pods as they can sometimes be worse for that?
Love your vids! We're sold on the citiz krups version, but can't seem to find it anywhere - do you know why, has it been discontinued? Much prefer the look of the krups version to the magamix!
Thanks for that! I'm not sure to be honest, wonder if it's just out of stock in a lot of places due to supply issues 🤔 Saw one on Amazon but it was a fair bit more expensive. Hope you manage to find one soon!
I’ve been looking at the Essenza Plus because the reviews online for the Vertuo Line are so bad! The amount of machines breaking and leaking is crazy! Any problems like that with your Essenza machines?
Yeah I have heard more reports of leaking with Vertuo machines than with Original. We've had our Vertuo Plus for about a year now with no issues but does seem to be a bit hit and miss as to whether a machine will leak or not. Haven't noticed it with my Essenza either but again, not to say another one won't leak.
Thanks. That's very helpful 👍I am thinking of getting the Essenza Mini currently. Looking for something better than instant that is still quick. Tried coffee bags recently. Better than instant but a bit tasteless. I already have a 'proper' machine and grinder and just use this on weekends as it's a bit messy and a bit time consuming
Thanks! Yeah for the money the essenza mini is a good little machine. Not sure where you're based but there are some very good deals on the essenza mini in the UK right now too.
Yeah I was only asking as I did spot the Krups one on Argos last night for £49.99 with 100 free pods and a month's free Nespresso Subscription worth £25. The deal stood out as you can also get the same 100 free capsule offer and £25 free month subscription from Nespresso directly but it's on offer at £59, so a bit more expensive. Hope this helps 👍
Yeah it really is a good deal that Argos one, cheapest I've seen. You do have to claim the pods and subscription credit via Nespresso - which I did with my vertuoplus machine and wasn't too much hassle - whereas Nespresso just send them out with the machine when you buy direct from them. No I haven't tried those pods. Hadn't heard of them actually so thanks for the tip off 👍. Sounds like it might be a great one to review.
This was really helpful thank you! Quick question, i am thinking of getting one for the bedroom, do you think the Pixie would be too big for the average medium sized room? Also the Pixie seems to be double the price of the Mini but not sure why (maybe because of the optimum heating?). Thanks.
Hi there. I wouldn't say the pixie is too big for a bedroom but the mini is definitely more discreet. The mini is also quieter. Not sure why the price jump is so big either, could just be the aesthetics. The only place the mini falls down for me is that a Nespresso travel mug won't fit under it, but another subscriber mentioned they prop it up on a book when they want to use it for that. Think the mini offers better value for a bedroom machine myself, especially with some of the offers I've seen on it in the UK recently.
Hi there. Personally I prefer the Citiz - especially if they're the same price - but if you want to small and quiet machine the Essenza is still good. (Haven't tried the Inissia) As for the Citiz and Aeroccino Bundle, if you're in the US then yes it does seem a good price as the Aeroccino 3 is $99 alone on the Nespresso website.
@@A2BProductions I think so, but it was a bit pricey. I think it may have to do with the supply chain issues. I got the Pixie with aero for $201. I chose the original model so I could have more off brand coffee variety (after watching another one of your videos). Thanks again!
Great video. Do you think a fat mug would fit under the pixie? I'm worried about the two flaps sticking out on the sides. I've had 2 nespresso machines so far (1 brand new essenza mini and a 2nd hand one which i can't rem the model of) and both had issues. The 2nd hand one started leaking, and the brand new essenza mini after 2.5 years has stopped piercing the capsules :(
Thanks! I’d love to check this for you but I actually don’t have a pixie at the minute. I sold a couple of machines in the past and regret it when questions like this come in 🤦🏼♂️ Sorry about that but hope a subscriber can help.
We have a Pixie and have had difficulty with mugs underneath. We keep a espresso shot cup with the pixie and pour from there into a mug. It makes another dirty dish but better than the mess of trying get the mug set up just right underneath.
Hey, can you tell me do i need different pod size for the essenza mini? It seems like it uses the same size as every other, but i just wanna make sure.
Thanks for the video 😎👍🏿 My Pixie stopped working last week. Fortunately it's still under guarantee so sent it back for repair/replacement. I decided to purchase the Essenza Krups version while I wait for my replacement. I am so impressed with the Essenza for it's cheaper price. The coffee pod closing mechanism is better then the Pixie version. It also has better water flow, no leakage and quieter. I have the Essenza setup next to my PC Monitor and it looks great due to its slim design. I'm so happy with this little coffee maker. I am going to give away my Pixie when I receive the replacement. I've just subbed your channel. Cheers ☕
Please help 😬 it's Christmas time and I want to get my mum a coffee machine.. upto £100 (maybe a but more) which could you tell me is my best buy (I'm pushed for time) seen a few of you videos but my brain is whizzing🤯 Thanks in advance.
Tough question as there are so many machines 😅 Out of these three I like the Citiz but if I were buying for my mum I think I’d buy the Essenza Mini as it’s so quiet and compact so don’t have to worry about it standing out or not being room on the worktop.
@@A2BProductions just read this as I've just got in. After watching more of your videos I came home with the citiz. Thanks to your channel I made my decision, thank you.
Hi there. That’s a tough question these days as there are so many machines and depends a lot on what kind of coffee you like to drink. Might be worth watching our recent video ‘Our Top 5 Nespresso Machines!’ ua-cam.com/video/mHNzoPw0AFA/v-deo.html first and if you have more questions after that then do let us know and can try and answer them. Hope this is ok 👍🏼
Taste wise and Crema wise...original line seems to win your approval over the Vertuo line. Which one wins out of the original lines for budget consideration? $200.
I'm not a coffee drinker and have no idea about machines. But want to buy one for my husband. He has milk in his coffee but not milk froth. So my question is, do these capsules have milk in them? Do I need to add milk after making with coffee pods in these machines? Thank you x
Hi 👋 None of the Nespresso pods currently have milk in them, so you’ll need to add it yourself and for cappuccinos and lattes etc you’ll need a milk frother. For the machines in this video Nespresso make the Aeroccino3 Aeroccino4 or Barista Recipe Maker separately. Or you could opt for a Nespresso machine with a frother attached like a Lattissima or Creatista machine. Lots of videos on the channel if you want to search for any of these and hope this helps a bit.
Does your pixie not have an on/off switch at the back, behind the espresso / lungo buttons on the machine right before you get to the water tank? Did you go for the nespresso vertuo deal? Last time we spoke I had just ordered it and said I was going to leave the barista. Bet you can can’t guess what I have been playing with the last few days?? 😬 🙊 😂 you guessed it the barista. 🤣
No doesn't seem to have that switch on it. It's a Krups one. Guessing yours has a switch? I haven't gone for the Vertuo deal yet, had a lot on last week or two and haven't even had the time to place an order 😂 So you got the Barista! What do you think of it so far?
@@A2BProductions Weird, although I did purchase mine in 2017. I am impressed with the barista, currently drinking a iced frappe using creme brûlée capsule and a dash of caramel sauce. It's really good, its whipped it beautifully. Tried hot chocolate, mocha and Café Viennois. I am a fan so far, worth the money. Looking forward to seeing what it can do with cream.
Glad you like it, we really like it! Why have I not got round to trying the iced recipes yet, just what's needed today 👍🌞 I have a box of those capsules lying around I think so will give that a go!
You don’t know what your missing out on. I like my coffee sweet but even I felt put too much caramel sauce in, so you really don’t need much. Just having an iced macchiato and it’s delicious, of course. Can I ask, on your whisk, so you have two little knicks as it were on the base, but facing up? I’m not sure if I have lost some coating or if it’s supposed to be like that?
Just had a look and can't see anything. My ice cubes were slightly melted by the time I got to making the vid (setting it all up) so maybe the edges weren't as sharp? Can't see any knicks, though, for now at least 😬
This was perfect. Thank you. I bought the £59.99 mini today but I think it might be too small water tank and my husband likes to use a large mug..so that won't fit.. great review
Hi I've watched most of your videos and although they are very informative I'm not sure if I should get the vertuo or original line capsules? I've read reviews that the vertuo espresso capsules arent as nice as the orignal line , any thoughts on this ??? I'm more of an using coffee granules and a kettle with a hint of milk coffee person.
I'd agree that the Vertuo Nespresso pods aren't as nice as the OriginalLine ones, but it does seem that you prefer mug size coffees. This is a rare occasion where I'd say Vertuo may suit you better (even though I prefer the taste of original). We're coming into Amazon deal season, though, so it might be a good opportunity to buy both - and sell the one you least like on ebay - if you don't mind the hassle. At least you'll know for sure which you prefer then. Hope this helps.
Excellent comparison video and I like you doing all three at once. It’s made me think about putting my Pixie next to my Vertuo so I have a nice choice of different coffees! Strange the temperatures are different as I would have thought they would have been the same. Thanks as always Adam.😀
Yeah it's good to have the options in front of you isn't it. It's funny as on first use there wasn't that much difference between the temperatures but as we had to use them a second time, it really highlighted that the pixie was hotter. No idea why but looks like you have the right machine if you like a hot coffee 👍
Ah yeah I really should have looked out for that, always forget something 😂 I've just run a few shots through each machine and on the machines we have we thought the Essenza mini was probably the quietest. The Citiz wasn't too much louder when in full flow but was louder than the mini at the start of the pour. The pixie was noticeably louder all the way through the process, though. Don't know if that matches up with your experience?
Ok, but as it's my first machine, glad didnt get the others, its loud enough. Already thinking of putting foam under it so doesn't vibrate so much sitting on quartz top. I like large tea, 5c a tea bag. Coffee pods are 17c to 45c to even 70c for vertuo. Btw do nespresso only take back their pods or any nespresso machine pods?
Great to hear you found it useful. We have some reviews of other models on the channel too in case you're interested in any of those and will be reviewing more going forward 👍🏼
A2B Productions thanks so much. I was sold on the Pixi for overall good value before finding your channel but I’m now deciding now between the Lattisima One and the Citiz. I don’t want to spend more than $400 CDN which originally ruled the Lattisima out, but I found a deal on amazon for $399 Cdn. I don’t have a particularly sophisticated coffee palette to be honest, I have sufficient counter space and I like the looks of both units so for me, it’s all about which one’s the easiest & quickest to both use and clean. Could you let me know which you’d choose - Citiz or Lattisima - for “ease”? Really appreciate your input!
Oh wow it’s actually $269 for the taupe one (which I prefer anyway) on the official nespresso Canada website right now vs $449 for the white one. I don’t see a difference so I wonder if they’re discontinuing that sable taupe colour. Seems like a great time to buy it! There’s my decision made!: www.nespresso.com/ca/en/lattissima-one-coffee-machine-range
Wow that is a big difference just for a different colour! I've only used the Gran Lattissima but for ease of use I'd say the Lattissima was easier, as you can just pop the frother part in the fridge after use and not have to wash it out every time like tghe aeroccinos. Can stay in the fridge for up to 2 days I think. The drinks from the Gran Lattissima were definitely hot enough too. Did you go for that one then?
A2B Productions alas my excitement was short lived last night - the $269 deal shows as available, I was able to add it to my cart, but upon checkout, it says it’s unavailable. I think it must be an old listing from a past promo that’s still live and shouldn’t be, that’s my guess as it’s definitely way cheaper than it should be for Canadian prices. I may try contacting customer service but I don’t think there’s any obligation to offer it at the listed price if stock is showing as gone (ie not like buying a mistakenly priced item that’s still physically on the shelf at a store). Sigh. Thought it was too good to be true! So I’ll probably end up with the Citiz now as it is quite a bit cheaper here.
I wonder how many times someone would need to refill the water tank. I suppose it depends on how large the cups your using are. But idk much about the measurements I have a hard time figuring out without actually testing out how many cups I could make. Perhaps it should be normal to know how many oz a tank holds, can be make into what ever number of cups. But yea idk how to figure that out in my head. Kind of like the idea of mental math, I always need paper. I need to see to know.
Know what you mean. With the Nespresso OriginalLine machines the espresso coffee is 40ml and the lungo coffee is 110ml. So in theory you should get... 15 espressos or 5 lungos out of the essenza mini (600ml water tank) 17 espresso shots or 6 lungos out of the Pixie (700ml water tank) 25 espressos or 9 lungos from the Citiz (1 litre water tank) That's if you fill them right up to maximum capacity. The thing is, I quite like to run a shot of water through the machine first to heat up the mechanism and get a hotter coffee, so for me it would be approximately half of the above figures. I also make a lot of coffee doing these vids 😂 so prefer the bigger water tank on the Citiz.
@@A2BProductions thanks I ended up buying a Citiz. Now I'm trying to see about pod alternatives. I heard of somethign called Bluecup, it's not as easy to get in USA but I'm thinking if possible maybe you can review them? Ans maybe also a few other ones. Alot fo amazon reviews are mixed about it working in the machine. The oen I got is model BEC630SIL1BUC1. Which means theres mostly no info on its comparability with things. And companies are saying "works with Citiz" and then people in reviews are saying they do or they dont in the same products. So I'm not sure whose amazon reviews to trust and what product is best. I'm thinkign maybe stianless steel ones are less flexible so that maybe is why Bluecup which isn't stainless steel is better, since it is less likely to have issue with the machine itself, were as the stianless steel ones are smaller to work and avoid the parts that make whirls int he normal pods. Not sure what option is best since I have no idea what the taste difference would be between the normal pods, the stainless steel reusable pods and the plastic reusable pods. Wondering if you could review some options? It woudl really help me. Not enough people review them specifically for what machines. It seems what machine you have matters. But no one pays attention to that on the reviews I did see. And they dotn say hwo the taste compares. Please help.
I'll have a look into those mate and see what I can do. In all honesty I've stayed away from them until now as was worried they might break my machine or void my warranty (also seems like a bit too much hassle refilling them all the time but I can be quite lazy with stuff like that 😂) but will check out the amazon reviews and look into them a bit more 👍
A2B Productions thank you :) I was just looking at Capmessso as it’s cheaper than the one store I could buy the Bluecup ones because they seem similar, but I’m still not sure yet, the good thing is cheaper means I’m risking less money on something if it doesn’t work, at least. If I could tho I’d rather have Bluecup because people seem to like it a lot, it just isn’t easy to get in USA and the info is less about them. I’d love to see a comparison to them tho.
Hi mate. Have you seen SealPod and is that available in the US? They just seem to have a broader range of reviews available. As I say my natural instinct is to stick with normal pods but might try and get hold of one or two of these reusable Nespresso pods to see how they work and whether they work.

Think the mini offers better value for a bedroom machine myself, especially with some of the offers I've seen on it in the UK recently.
The Pixie is made in Switzerland. Mini is made in China.
@@knowyourhistory my pixie is made in China
@@knowyourhistory Double the price for the same quality, inflated European salaries I guess.
Please suggest me. The same price Essenza, Inissia and Citiz for $150. Which one I should buy?
And the the citiz plus Aeroccino3 for $200. The last one is over for my budget but I think it's a great value.
Hi can u make for us a vedio on how to make a cappuccino frost milk without the milk steamer please
Hi. Do you mean how to froth milk without a milk frother?
A2B Productions yup because I don’t have it the frother
Will try but may have to do some research on that one as have no idea right now 😅
You’re so great for doing this, thanks! I have about an hour to decide for the Amazon Cyber Monday deal! 😜
Hope you grabbed a good deal 👍🏼
Why would you spend double the money and not get the mini? Its the same coffe
Hey, can you tell me do i need different pod size for the essenza mini? It seems like it uses the same size as every other, but i just wanna make sure.
Hi there. Yeah it uses the same size pods as the other Original Nespresso machines but doesn’t take Vertuo capsules.
It’s very hard for me to tell which one makes the best espresso if you only pull really long coffees
THANKS a LOT, FOR THIS VIDEO Reviews
Thanks, glad they’ve been useful 😁
Your videos are super helpful! Thanks a lot! 😊
Glad you like them! Thank you too 😁
Thanks for the video 😎👍🏿
My Pixie stopped working last week.
Cheers ☕
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and great to have you as a subscriber👍🏼 Really is a good little machine for the money.
Please help 😬 it's Christmas time and I want to get my mum a coffee machine.. upto £100 (maybe a but more) which could you tell me is my best buy (I'm pushed for time) seen a few of you videos but my brain is whizzing🤯
Thanks in advance.
I think I know which 9 machines I want ROFL
Haha, not an easy decision is it. So many combinations 😅
Hi I’m trying to get my first Nespresso machine, which one would you recommend? Thank you 😊
Hope this is ok 👍🏼
thanks for the nice video! very detailed!
do you think the essenza mini is the quietest machine among these three and creatista plus?
Sorry for the late response on this but you inspired me to do a video on it, should be live tomorrow so hope it answers your question!
Taste wise and Crema wise...original line seems to win your approval over the Vertuo line. Which one wins out of the original lines for budget consideration? $200.
Nevermind you kinda answered this at the end!
Jesus man how thorough can you get? You should have been a surgeon or an auditor. Thank you!
Cheers for that, glad it helped! When you come across some of the bloopers in our our videos, though, you might feel differently about that 😅
I'm not a coffee drinker and have no idea about machines.
Doesn’t the Vertuo have way hotter coffee?
We have the Vertuo Plus and the coffee is really hot from that, especially when you head towards the mug sized ones.
This dude is so lit on pods
This was perfect. Thank you. I bought the £59.99 mini today but I think it might be too small water tank and my husband likes to use a large mug..so that won't fit.. great review
Thanks, glad you found is helpful. Hope you find the right machine for you but if you have any questions do let us know.
Does the pixie have a descaling alert?
Hi, yes it does. Not sure about older models but the new ones are listed as having a descaling alarm.
Tilting mugs or cups has the benefit of giving no splash back.
Great tip 👍🏼
Very thorough! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Good video - one thing I feel you could have mentioned in the Essenza Mini's favour would be the fact that it's a little quieter :)
@@A2BProductions yes - pretty much spot on. It's not a major issue....unless you're up early and someone is asleep 😂
Yeah great point 😂👍
Ok, but as it's my first machine, glad didnt get the others, its loud enough. Already thinking of putting foam under it so doesn't vibrate so much sitting on quartz top. I like large tea, 5c a tea bag. Coffee pods are 17c to 45c to even 70c for vertuo. Btw do nespresso only take back their pods or any nespresso machine pods?
with was really helpful thank you so much
Thanks and glad it helped 👍
Very useful in helping me choose a model, thanks! ☕️
There’s my decision made!:
www.nespresso.com/ca/en/lattissima-one-coffee-machine-range
Thank you so much !!!! way better than the "professionals".
Should rename your channel to make proper reviews.
Will mull that one over 🤔😅 Really glad you enjoyed the review and thanks for your support 👍🏼
i have the mini excellent thank you for the helpful videos!
No worries, glad you found useful. The mini is a great machine for the price 👍
@@A2BProductions 👍👍👍👍
Qual a melhor por favor?
We like the Citiz be do have a 'top Nespresso machines' video on the channel in case that helps.
Excellent coffee machine.

Nespresso mini excellent
Yeah it's a good little Nespresso machine for the money isn't it!
15 espressos or 5 lungos out of the essenza mini (600ml water tank)
17 espresso shots or 6 lungos out of the Pixie (700ml water tank)
25 espressos or 9 lungos from the Citiz (1 litre water tank)
That's if you fill them right up to maximum capacity.
In all honesty I've stayed away from them until now as was worried they might break my machine or void my warranty (also seems like a bit too much hassle refilling them all the time but I can be quite lazy with stuff like that 😂) but will check out the amazon reviews and look into them a bit more 👍
A2B Productions thank you :)
I was just looking at Capmessso as it’s cheaper than the one store I could buy the Bluecup ones because they seem similar, but I’m still not sure yet, the good thing is cheaper means I’m risking less money on something if it doesn’t work, at least.
Good comparison Adam
Haha, cheers Harry 😂 Didn't know you were a subscriber!
