Hi there! Thank you for this video. I never get tired of hearing about the anxiety component of perimenopause. It makes me feel like I am not the only one! I can bear up against hot flashes and most other symptoms, but its the ANXIETY and sense of complete OVERWHELM that I am not coping with. Panic, anxiety, overwhelm, feeling dissociated.. most days I feel I am going insane, literally. My work and relationships are really suffering. I cannot take the typical meds for anxiety and have tried all the tricks in the book for it including counseling and supplements. I have been on the Combi Patch HRT for a year. It helps my hot flashes, night sweats and aches and pains, but it is not helping my anxiety and insomnia. I am 54 and still having periods.. feeling like I have PMT all month long. I workout daily, I eat right, I am normal weight and excellent health. God Bless all women in this phase.. it seems to unfair to those that suffer so drastically from the perimenopause/menopause! Thanks Eileen for all you do! Hugs! XOXO
I got my last period at 57 it’s awful hold on. Explain well to husband and family. My friend stopped driving she will only go to her parents house and back. Grocery store also she panics. Poor thing. We are all in it together ladies try to love each other and remember it’s gonna get better some day.
Yes, anxiety is certainly a huge issue, it's the one that took me the longest to resolve! Maca, Ashwagandha and lots of relaxation finally got it under control. Keep at it Ladies, it does ease! Best Wishes Eileen
Yes my hrt does nothing for the anxiety . You just have to put up with this constant bollocks. You just have to retreat and lie down for days when it gets bad. Tnere is no end to it . Its like a chronic illness. There are times when i fret i am drastically riddled with cancer or other to be so drugged by anxiety light headedness all the time .i stagger here , i stagger there. I never get any better. The anxiety stops me from exercising. I am too frightend to exert myself. I have considered ending it . I dont know why i keep thinking this will end . Why do i hang in there ? I dont know really. Do other women put up with this constant crap ? I thought HRT was supposed to make you symptom free ?.
This is spot on! Thank you. I am in my 8th year of peri menopause and the anxiety is the worst of all the symptoms. Never before did I fear life or death and now I worry, cry and think that I am unwell. And then a day will pass and I feel normal again. What a roller coaster. I am so grateful for your blog and all the women who share their stories. Together, we will get through this and, be stronger for it. Stay strong everyone ❤
For some strange reason after listening to this lady speaking what it seems to me is proper British, I'm reading your comment in British even though I'm American...😊
Its late at night I’m in having a horrible panic attack, I have all the symptoms you talked about, the heart palpitations, chest pain, feeling of sudden doom, even a strange hearing disturbance that is so hard to explain but is just awful. I always go to your videos when I’m feeling the awful affects of menopause, Somehow you always make me feel better, I think it’s because you make us feel like we’re not alone and we’re not crazy, and that our symptoms are normal. Thank you so much for your soothing videos 🙏.
I’m having exactly symptoms like you, reading this and listening videos is my companions! I’m not alone… I’m also having this symptoms on my head like ear disturbance too
I’m having exactly symptoms like you, reading this and listening videos is my companions! I’m not alone… I’m also having this symptoms on my head like ear disturbance too
Your videos are very soothing and confirming. I've experienced many of these things and you make it realize I'm normal, when I don't always feel normal.
Omg! Thankyou for this video My anxiety is through the roof it’s been creeping up for 12months+ and it’s got to the point where it’s effecting my work and everyday life! It’s getting unbearable
I just know that I am not under any spiritual attack. This video has really opened my eyes to some of the anxiety I have been going through. Thanks for this video.
I am so glad I found your channel. I am 46 and started having menopause sympthoms about two years ago, first only missing periods. Last autumn anxiety came and it was so so horrible. I have everything you described exept for these need to tidy or check lights etc. Many days I feel like I am going insane. I have tried supplements but nothing really works. Monday my doctor will call and I will try HRT, well now I read comments and many say HRT doens't help with anxiety. I don't really have hot flashes but I am so tired most of the time. My strenght has dissapeared. This is not fun at all. It is affecting everything family, social life, work, hobbies...
The scary thing for me is all the symptoms you described in this video I am experiencing on and off and I'm in my '70's way past menopause. I think the loss of estrogen just affects us throughout our later years and it can completely change our personality...scary stuff. I don't take any medication or vitamins and perhaps I need to take supplements! I need to really try eating in a healthier way and getting out more for daily walks. Thanks for so much helpful information!
Hi Spoly Yes, you are right, our nervous system doesn't always bounce back after the menopause so it often reacts quicker to more minor situations. Diet and exercise certainly do help so you may find an over 50s female multivit can be of benefit and being out in the fresh air can lift our mood quite a bit! Best Wishes Eileen
I wasn’t doing well during menopause and post menopause but the first thing I was told to do was take vitamin d zinc and magnesium stop eating bad sugars eat plent of fruit and vegies I like salads and make sure you are sleeping well
I've suffered general anxiety and health anxiety since my early 20s. I weaned myself with the help of my lovely husband off medication. I was starting worry that perimenopause and menopause will exacerbate it but I am positive I will be ok it's all in the thinking and breathing for me as well as good diet lots of water, exercise daily and my hobbies. I know it won't be all smooth sailing but I think if we take Eileen's advice and stay positive it will be ok ❤️☺️ Also don't watch the news or read it constantly especially now with the state of the world
Of all the videos I have watched on menopause this is by far the best , you literally pinned all my symptoms, from painful palpitations and anxiety, to fear of death you totally nailed it, what's frustrating is my gynae has told me that it's not menopause and my physician wants to refer me to a psychiatrist I'm so frustrated
Glad to hear that this has helped you Moreblessing, maybe look for a soya supplement to help balance your oestrogen naturally, you can get these from health stores and try some magnesium, 200mg twice a day, to calm your nervous system down :) Best Wishes Eileen
I am so grateful for this. I have gone through almost everything you have spoke of in my peri-menopause and now post-menopause years. This one is a bugger. I find if I prolong eating breakfast, these happen as well as if I am over tired due to random things waking me in the night (kittens, random night sweats etc) I forget about passionflower tea. This one is great before bed, for me. Also sitting next to my bed and doing about 5 min breathing with my eyes closed and slowing down my thoughts so I can get into bed peacefully.
Thank you so much, I've experienced some of these issues that you've mentioned, gardening calms me down, a bit of reading, walking, gospel music, reading the Bible... Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thank you so much for this talk. My anxiety is so bad right now. I hardly can function. I was diagnosed with GAD/PTSD/OCD in my twenties. I did get better. Peri years it all came back, plus health anxiety. I never had health anxiety before. Covid fears made it worse. This past couple of weeks anxiety is due to my husband coming home announcing we might have to move to Ft. Meyers Florida. The construction company he works for the Ft Myer's business was destroyed. They need everyone down there with specialized skills. I tried to be strong. I did tell my husband I don't think we should do it. He agreed and told them no the next day. My biggest tip is you need to talk to your family, no matter how hard it is. My husband & I have this thing where I ask my anxiety levels and he gives me a 1-10. I don't know when they are bad. This has been super helpful. I do have anxiety medication. I have to take it sparingly. Dark rooms, lavender, cold cloths on your neck. All those really help. I have lots of LED candles I keep lit to help calm me. I do the thirty minutes a day with music. I also do a lot of crafts that I can count like diamond painting, color by number adult coloring books, puzzles. I also play a lot of card games on my computer. Counting cards really helps. Strangely, caffeine helps me. My doctor told me years ago during a panic attack our blood sugar is all over the place. He told me to sip on a soda. This was in the 1990's but he held this firm belief for decades till he retired. He believed the caffeine helps loosen tension in some patients. The cold calms the nervous system, sugar stabilizes the blood sugar, carbonation settles stomach. I have a friend who is a war vet with PTSD/GAD and soda makes him worse. It really depends on the person.
Felt so much better just listening to your advise, for over a year I’ve been having so many different symptoms till I ended up in hospital with a heart attack. But even then although my cardiologist said I made a full recovery with minimal damage I still have ongoing symptoms and my docter never helps with the fact that it may well be menopause as I am now 51 years old.
It was not until perimeno and going into meno did I experience these various anxieties for the very first time in my life in my 50's. It's bizarre and unnerving. Thankfully, Now gone, in full menopause, at age 60. One does not just experience all of the Changes of Life, One Survives it.
Thank you for sharing! Same for me, the anxiety seemingly out of nowhere and for no reason! Your comments give me hope that the severe anxiety WILL END eventually! XOXO
I’m so happy to come across your comment and also for this video. I’m turning 51 years old next month. Nobody ever talked to me about symptoms of peri or menopause so I just assume ok when I get there I would just get hot from hot flashes. Since I only got dry skin and brittle nails as well as irregular periods during my peri menopause I just thought it was a normal part of aging. Little did I know anxiety is one of the symptoms that can creep up now at the end of peri menopause. I went from a happy and calm person without any anxiety issues or sadness before to every few days of anxiousness and feeling down. I thought I was going mad for about a month. I was really suffering from not knowing what changed me. Also it didn’t help that I only got a warm feeling in my chest so I didn’t know that was a hot flush. I don’t sweat or get red in the face like I was told so I couldn’t tie it together with menopause. I tried to figure out what was wrong with me and constantly looking for answers. Never connected it to menopause. When I feel the anxiety coming I would start to worry more and it would make it worse. Like a vicious cycle. It was such a tough month and it didn’t help that I got Covid a month and a half before the anxiety started so I kept thinking it was from Covid. My primary care wasn’t any help and made things worse by telling me I think too much and worry too much so I got anxiety. Never mentioned it was from menopause. It wasn’t until recently my neighbor who happens to be a doctor and went through this told me it was menopause that the dark cloud lifted. Once she told me I instantly felt like I can calm down and see the brightness. I’m just relieved to find out now. Thank you for giving me hope that this will one day go away,
I have been dealing with anxiety for a few years (I'm going to be 40 soon) and if felt like surges of cortisol going through my body. I thought I needed a therapist and I've basically been having regular sessions for years and it still happened. Then I was TTC for 2 years and closely monitored my cycle for a few months. Last month I had an ultrasound and found a large follicle which did not release and needed progesterone tablets to get rid of the follicle before it required surgery if it got bigger. After having the progesterone tablets I felt back to normal without those anxiety attacks and realised it was something physiologically happening. There was no outside stress or childhood trauma that was making these palpitations happening. I finally got a diagnosis of preminmenopause which actually has been a relief because I'm on hormonal replacement and feel back to myself. I'm literally not worrying about if I one day may or may not get pregnant and know that HRT Is helping me in the present moment to enjoy life the way I used to.
I experience this in the beginning of each month. Perhaps it may be a pattern that my estrogen is dipping more at this time of the month. I am working in changing my diet. Stopped eating refined sugars as much as possible. I dont drink coffee, but I have been off sugar for about a month now and I feel calmer. I also started drinking Chamomile tea right after my last menopausal rage which happened September 10th. 2022. I enjoy the Chamomile tea and Bengal tea that Celestial Seasonings puts out. A great help for calming me down. 😁 I like to walk for exercise daily. Mostly I am watching my refined carbs. I know water is very important as well. I have to work on drinking more water. So today, I am feeling much calmer.
Just wanted to chime in about surgical menopause (aka full hysterectomy). I had one about a year and half ago and the anxiety was insane. Panic attacks, PTSD and GAD. Couldn't drive without a full blown panic attack and then it seeped into panic while being a passenger in the car. (Lucky to have the world's most understanding job about this. Hard to try and explain to HR that I lose feeling in my hands and legs and can't breath and get tunnel vision whenever I drive and I feel unsafe and like I am going to die and never get back home or see my family again.) My anxiety/panic was blown off by my old doctor being related to the hysterectomy since he had seen women go through this stage in peri-meno but I did not experience that so it had to be from something else. Plus, it started 9 months after my surgery. Turns out (now that I have new doctors...) that, yes, indeed it is related. They have upped my estrogen and I am seeing a therapist. Both of those have helped, but still working on the driving thing with just exposure therapy and basically just doing it. Also, the health anxiety is still a work in progress. The anxiety and panic has been the worst, but its even harder when I am well below the menopause age and I have zero any body to talk to about this and people my age have no idea what is happening and why I have to cancel plans. Also, explaining this to my husband is hard as well. I do find reminding myself that this is just hormones and I am not dying helps. And the more I just push through the panic and anxiety and just do things and come out alive on the other side helps too. The hardest one is when I have tunnel vision and my limbs are tingly and numb from the panic and my brain has to kick in and try not to focus on it. Distractions help a TON!! Hoping things even out eventually or I just keep learning how to power through things.
I found the different stages of this peri menopause some of these symptoms have been paralizing for example the anxiety and panic attacks the digestive issues. I did go to my doctor an im taking medication for the anxiety, panic attacks and digestive issues. However the coffee is hard to stop but im down to a weak cup of coffee once a day.
It is very difficult to give up coffee completely Marina, but good to hear that you've got it down to one cup - we do need some joy in our lives! Best Wishes Eileen
Thank you for discussing this topic. I started have extreme anxiety/panic attacks and went through numerous OBs who knew nothing about anxiety and menopause. They told me to see a psychiatrist. I finally found great OB who addressed my hormones. He made me feel hope, knowing what it is and I wasn’t alone.
Oh thanks so much for making this video. I am 50. I just started suddenly worrying about getting cancer. Probably because I have neglected my health for too long, so it’s probably a good thing. Anxiety doesn’t have to be a bad thing, it can drive us to do the things we ought in any case. Better health, exercise, eating better, losing weight and getting my proper screenings now, But never did I think it was associated with menopause. I just thought it was something inside me telling me to get my scans, so I must have cancer. I started having chest pains at work, and now I understand everything, this is ridiculous. No one tells you that it can get this bad. But perhaps now with some awareness, I can put things in perspective and keep myself calmer.
@@AvogelCoUk my classic I was at a folk music session playing my Melodeon all through first half each person played a tune till two before me and then I was struck with nerves as usual and a terrible doubt did I lock the car I knew I locked one side but could not remember doing the other then I had my turn to play then we had a break I have never gone to my car so fast the answer yes I had ok bonus was glorious sunset and moon rise but oh the worry!
I cannot thank you enough for your very passionate and compassionate videos. I have cried and been so afraid the last month and a half because I thought I was going crazy. My dr. Has NEVER once talked to me about Peri ever since I started having re-occuring panic/anxiety attacks. Hes told me its anxiety and wanted to change my script since my bloodwork "appeared normal." Theres NOTHING normal about what I've been dealing with. Thank you so much for the information you have shared. 🎉❤🎉❤
You're welcome Lisa. Have you had your iron levels checked recently? Prolonged periods can often cause anaemia and this in turn can trigger anxiety! If not, you may find a gentle iron tonic helpful. Best Wishes Eileen
I Wish the General GP would spread such important vital Information to all women worldwide Thanks for Sharing I Wish you and your family and Friends the best in Life blessings 🙏🏻⚜️🌷💝
An so gkad you address this topic today about the dreaded anxiety.....it is the most scary feelings anyone can experience.....I check all the boxes off on this one has become more severe over the pass couole of weeks but am coping fairly ok because i do not let anxiety scare me any more.....or at least i try not too.
Thank you- the social anxiety is spot on. With the brain fog i am embarrassed at forgetting words. Would be good to discuss how this affects relationships as not all spouses care to educate themselves 😒
I always had some anxiety, but the social anxiety hit me in my 40's...getting dissociated around friends, etc. Made no sense...Then fear of heights hit, for no reason....Then panic around stress, then health anxiety, then not coping with anything very well, early 50's developing full anxiety disorder.....cats died, brother and dad died, pandemic, business closed, unemployment.....Oh lordy!!!! Tried all sorts of things...hormones, therapy, breathing, yoga, essential oils....Been using the Anxious Truth podcast.....a little estrogen cream on my fanny, otc liposomal progesterone...Still hard, but better.....🥵👍
Buspirone is helping me so far. I am 48 going on 49. Severe panic attacks, anxiety, phobias popping up like mushrooms! Thank you for this video. My period is 51 days then 21 days. Hormones give me migraines so I am going to have to manage this transition without hrt.
Great tips. One thing I would say is anxiety can be caused by dysautonomia. I thought I had menopause anxiety as I was having distinct surges of tachycardia, nausea, sweating and an immense feeling of doom. What I didn't know was I had hyperandrenergic PoTs. My body is releasing noradrenaline in order to try to bring my blood pressure up. Please get checked if you have these symptoms as menopause does cause other issues to develop at the same time.
Hi Eileen, also the dark thoughts/ suicidal thoughts that normally in your correct mindset would be the furthest thing from your mind. That happened to me recently while on the phone to my sister. She knew straight away that this didnt sound like me as I'm the most positive, upbeat one in the family. She straight told me to look into peri menopause and get myself to the healthshop for advice and guidance on nutrition and supplements to help me. Thank God, Im coming vack to myself but like another lady said in the comments. I dont mind the hot flashes or night sweats it's the Anxiety, that can be very unsettling and scary for me.
I jus entered 42, with normal periods n felt uneasy post periods, correlation n understanding our cycle helps, we can simplify our routine, take help if needed, n exercise well wen it's sunny days ! Is Al we need . . Thank you so much for the video, it added boost to my understanding about self ❤
OMG.. I AM IN TEARS, WATCHING THIS VIDEO.. IT'S 3.30AM, ANOTHER NIGHT STRUGGLING TO SLEEP, SO I WAS ON UA-cam AND THOUGHT I WOULD SEE IF I COULD BE GOING THROUGH THE MENOPAUSE. I WAS WATCHING SOMEONE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN FEELING FOR MONTHS 😢. THE ONLY THING I WILL SAY, I'M THE OPPOSITE OF BEING OVERLY TIDY, MY ENERGY LEVELS DON'T EVEN EXIST ANYMORE. I'M LITERALLY JUST SO TIRED ALL THE TIME, I JUST CAN'T BE BOTHERED WITH HOUSEWORK ANYMORE AND I'M STRUGGLING TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. 😴 BUT I WILL DEFINITELY BE SHOWING MY 18 AND 20YR OLD SONS THIS VIDEO 😊 BECAUSE I'VE GIVEN UP TRYING TO EXPLAIN THEY WAY I'VE BEEN 😢 THANKS EILEEN ❤
You're welcome Melanie, hope it helps! Just a thought, if you're tired/fatigued all the time, it could be other health issues creeping in such as anaemia, underactive thyroid, vitamin D or B12 deficiency so it's a good idea to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out Best Wishes Eileen
I will say, I get overwhelmed so much easier now, and I just don't know how to tackle this one. Once my sweet little brain sees all that is needed to get done (or unfinished) I get overwhelm, the symptoms start and I almost would rather go do something fun. How do you address overwhelm in these later years?? Another part of the journey to adjust to I suppose.
Hi This is a difficult one which I can relate to! I found the herb Maca good for calming things down. Maybe try a liquid one if you can get it, if not try capsules. If you're in the UK or Ireland you could try our Relaxing Essence, I find this one great for 'switching off' these kinds of thoughts. www.avogel.co.uk/jan-de-vries/bach-flower-remedies/relaxing-essence/ Best Wishes Eileen
I'm 50. This time my period came 56. day (longest pause ever). My anxiety and panic are almost unbearable last 15 days, thought it would be easier when bleeding started but...no 😞 I have anxiety and panic attacks since I was 10 but so strong it wasn't for the last 10 years. I'm waking and going to bed with horrible anxiety. Blood pressure is higher. Insomnia and awful fatigue are here for more than 2 years. Is there any time in perimenopause when symptoms aren't so severe? Before I knew it will be rough during PMS but when bleeding starts symptoms faded. Can you please help me to understand all this? Hope I won't be in this horrible anxiety for years
Unfortunatley, anxiety is so common in the perimenopause due to all the hormonal fluctuation going on. Your hormones can dip and peak practically overnight and it's this sudden change that can trigger symptoms such as anxiety. If you've experienced this before the perimenopause, then it can make you more susceptible to ongoing anxiety at this time. Hopefully, my tips will be helpful for you, as anything you can do to ease symptoms, will be of benefit. Acupuncture could be another option and remember to drink loads of water as dehydration can be a primary trigger! Most women do find that once hormones have settled after periods stop, symptoms ease or become more controllable. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi, is morning anxiety part of menopause too? I wake up earlier than usual, with a gripping feeling in my chest, and a dread of the day to come. Iy makes me freeze, and I'm so overwhelmed with the feeling, I can barely get up and dressed. It gets better as the day goes on, but I still don't feel happy, even when it's past... I'm either numb or miserable. I've had depression before, and it feels similar, but not the same!
This is so common Julie and was one of my passing symptoms so I know how awful it can be. I've posted a vlog on this so please do take a look. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/is-anxiety-in-the-morning-a-menopause-symptom/ Best Wishes Eileen
I'm exactly the same I dread getting up ..I'm crying again and very weepy ..I'm 58 ..post menopause been OK for a year or so but I feel like it's coming back again ..sometimes I could jump of a bridge...no period since 50 ..
@@localwalker5696 please see my vlog mentioned above but if you're feeling really low please do ask your doctor for help and you can always talk to the Samaritans if life gets very hard for you. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Eileen I'm struggling with anxiety and bouts of teariness along with irritability and just that hormonal feeling at random times of the month. I'm still getting regular periods (I'm nearly 46). I went to my GP who is also an integrative doctor so she is into natural help as well. She suggested magnesium glycinate as well as passionflower tincture. I just wondered your thoughts on the passionflower as I haven't tried it yet thank you 😊
Hi Lindsay, This is a horrible symptom and I can certainly sympathise with you! Passionflower is a lovely one, we do 3 different products, a tincture, a spray and tablets. I love the spray as you can carry it about and use when needed. Taken with magnesium, that's a good combination! Best Wishes Eileen
Hi. For me it has. I am about 5 years post-menopause and still have a lot of the same symptoms, not as severe as when in peri-menopause but they are still here. I think it is very individual. I have learned to handle the symptoms but it is not always easy. :( One of the worst for me is fatigue, it is not everyday but frequent. Hopefully once I am retired it will be better and if I feel like sitting and resting I will be able to. :) I don't think I will ever be able to go on 5 day long backpacking trips as I did before peri-menopause but at least I won't have to worry about trying to get through the workday. I have an active job and am on my feet moving most of the day. I can say that I feel like a different person post-menopausal. There are some good things about it but there are some bad. As one of the gals said above, one survives it!
Hi Shirin I have found myself that my adrenals are not as strong or robust as pre-menopause so they do 'fire away' over nothing sometimes! I've learned to cope too, with herbs such as Maca and trying not to push myself too hard! Best Wishes Eileen
To all my fellow sisters, I feel you♥️ I'm 46 years old and I bartend for a living where you have to be very fast and mentally sharp. Peri-menopause really has taken a toll on me and has killed my moral, self-esteem, confidence, motivation, energy, and has wrecked my body. People at work don't understand one bit when I have just one off day where my brain just shuts down for a brief moment. It's a constant struggle for me to be on the up and up. But I am maintaining with lots of supplements to help with the rollercoaster swings. I know I should change jobs but I've been bartending since I was 26 years old, I just don't have it in me to change jobs and relearn something else. I don't have the energy to do so. And I can't blame my work performance on peri-menopause because I know I'll get the axe. I feel so cheated all of the time 😭
Hi This is such a common scenario for many women and, even in this day and age, many employers are totally unaware of how big an impact this can have on their staff. Hoping you get through this quickly. Best Wishes Eileen
I went through a divorce from an abusive husband and dealing with menopause. I feel like I am never going to feel good again. My anxiety is uncontrollable even though i meditate, excersize and have a super clean diet. Society doesn't understand the suffering of women in this phase of life.😢
My situation is exact to yours and it's truly awful, never ending I do not live life I just live a life of severe anxiety and panic and also freezing in anxiety I hope you will feel ok soon 💜💜
Hi Sandra I hope my tips are helpful for you but you could also seek the advice of a herbalist who may be able to formulate a personalised treatment plan for you. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Jodie I've posted a vlog on sleep and what you can do to help yourself so please do take a look. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/3-sleep-problems-during-menopause/ Best Wishes Eileen
Sorry to hear that Tanya. Hope my tips are helpful for you. You could try natural remedies such as Valerian, Passionflower, Ashwagandha or Maca Best Wishes Eileen
Hi dear I was on the hrt patch for 5 years. Dr recommended I stop . Breasts were sore. Would you recommend menosan by a . Vogel. Getting nightsweats n hot flashes
Eekk. Is there anything I can eat to help with sore ol muscles? More protein? Milk? I feel I have become bones with no strength but when I work out I hurt for days and then don't want to do that again.
Hi Patty Cake, Yes, protein is really helpful, a protein powder drink once a day can work well and don't forget the magnesium as this is important to stop muscle fatigue. Try some powdered magnesium in your water bottle during your exercise session, this can stop the pains afterwards! Best Wishes Eileen
Anxiety hit me hard for the first time in the middle of the night I woke up panicking out of no where… and I just finished ovulating so my estrogen is super low. Thanks for clarifying! I was so confused! What helped was passion flower and magnesium
Iam having anxiety may be it's because of menopause...iam breathless and suffocating specially while going to bed...I just wanted to know how long it may last and is there medicine for it ... please help me..
Hello, I’m so sorry to hear how much your suffering and I totally understand 100% as I’ve been there! Trust me you can manage this, medication may be an option for you but sadly it wasn’t for me! I stumbled across the most amazing little book called SELF- HELP FOR YOUR NERVES by Dr Claire Weekes. If you look on Amazon and read just a few of the reviews you’ll soon realise what an amazing help this little book can be! It truly saved my life! We try to push this awful anxiety and panic away because it’s petrifying and you feel like your going to die! Night time is the worst and then you frightened to go back to sleep in case it happens again , then your tired so it happens more, a total vicious circle! I’m not suggesting you don’t visit your GP but you could have this book probably in the next 24 hours! Within only a few pages you start to understand what is happening and once you apply the technique ( which is so simple) you can feel the anxiety easing, and boy what a relief ! It is just so well explained, such a comforting book. Thank you Dr Claire Weekes, I just wish more people knew about your amazing little book. Good luck Muzna, 🙏 you’ll will come through this x Kind regards Jo
Hi Munza It is important to speak to your doctor about feeling suffocated as this could indicate sleep apnoea which may need treating. In the meantime, you may find a magnesium supplement or herbs such as Ashwagandha can help with the anxiety. Best Wishes Eileen
Actually, I am finding that having more salt and actually Celtic salt... Is doing well for me. I was only getting probably a thousand mg but the research I've found seems to state that across the world 3,000 to 5000 mg of sodium actually lowers your heart risk... This evening I actually had a half a teaspoon of Celtic salt and water. And I have never felt so calm in my life. I think it's actually helping with my high blood pressure. I know this goes against the new science here in America. Where they want us lowering our salt intake. But it seems that a lot of people with low salt really have high blood pressure and they're not very healthy...
It is well known that 'real' salts such as Celtic, Sea Salt and Himalayan can have huge health benefits but always best to do this kind of treatment under the guidance of a practitioner who can monitor you Best Wishes Eileen
Hi there! Thank you for this video. I never get tired of hearing about the anxiety component of perimenopause. It makes me feel like I am not the only one!

Thank you TL, hopefully, your symptoms will start to ease off soon.

Its late at night I’m in having a horrible panic attack, I have all the symptoms you talked about, the heart palpitations, chest pain, feeling of sudden doom, even a strange hearing disturbance that is so hard to explain but is just awful.

Hi Spoly
Yes, you are right, our nervous system doesn't always bounce back after the menopause so it often reacts quicker to more minor situations. Diet and exercise certainly do help so you may find an over 50s female multivit can be of benefit and being out in the fresh air can lift our mood quite a bit!

I wasn’t doing well during menopause and post menopause but the first thing I was told to do was take vitamin d zinc and magnesium stop eating bad sugars eat plent of fruit and vegies I like salads and make sure you are sleeping well
It does. It changes our personality, and people don’t understand and it’s not our fault.

Magnesium Taurate is good for anxiety. I take it at night.
I know it won't be all smooth sailing but I think if we take Eileen's advice and stay positive it will be ok ❤️☺️

Glad to hear that this has helped you Moreblessing, maybe look for a soya supplement to help balance your oestrogen naturally, you can get these from health stores and try some magnesium, 200mg twice a day, to calm your nervous system down :)

Great tips, thank you! Passionflower is a great one for relaxing and anxiety.

I am sorry 😞 hang on
Felt so much better just listening to your advise, for over a year I’ve been having so many different symptoms till I ended up in hospital with a heart attack. But even then although my cardiologist said I made a full recovery with minimal damage I still have ongoing symptoms and my docter never helps with the fact that it may well be menopause as I am now 51 years old.
Glad to have been of help Kay!

That's fantastic, great to hear that you've got this sorted now and enjoying life!

Fantastic result Janet, sometimes it's just changing minor things that can make such a big difference. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for bringing this up, that's very helpful! Hope this all resolves soon for you.

I just wondered your thoughts on the passionflower as I haven't tried it yet thank you 😊
Hi Lindsay,
This is a horrible symptom and I can certainly sympathise with you! Passionflower is a lovely one, we do 3 different products, a tincture, a spray and tablets. I love the spray as you can carry it about and use when needed. Taken with magnesium, that's a good combination!

For me yes.. the anxiety n panic got teal bad.. fatigue body aches, blood sugar increase and high blood pressure as well.

I usually recommend either mag citrate, taurate or glycinate, these are all absorbed well.

To all my fellow sisters, I feel you♥️
I'm 46 years old and I bartend for a living where you have to be very fast and mentally sharp.
I feel so cheated all of the time 😭
I am so sorry hang on it’s a bumpy ride but we can do it. Don’t drink alcohol it will make it all worse.
Hi
This is such a common scenario for many women and, even in this day and age, many employers are totally unaware of how big an impact this can have on their staff.
Hoping you get through this quickly.

I went through a divorce from an abusive husband and dealing with menopause. I feel like I am never going to feel good again. My anxiety is uncontrollable even though i meditate, excersize and have a super clean diet. Society doesn't understand the suffering of women in this phase of life.😢
Hope everything improves soon for you Lynn

Eekk. Is there anything I can eat to help with sore ol muscles? More protein? Milk? I feel I have become bones with no strength but when I work out I hurt for days and then don't want to do that again.
Hi Patty Cake,
Yes, protein is really helpful, a protein powder drink once a day can work well and don't forget the magnesium as this is important to stop muscle fatigue. Try some powdered magnesium in your water bottle during your exercise session, this can stop the pains afterwards!

Good luck Muzna, 🙏 you’ll will come through this x
Kind regards
Jo
Hi Munza
It is important to speak to your doctor about feeling suffocated as this could indicate sleep apnoea which may need treating. In the meantime, you may find a magnesium supplement or herbs such as Ashwagandha can help with the anxiety.

It is well known that 'real' salts such as Celtic, Sea Salt and Himalayan can have huge health benefits but always best to do this kind of treatment under the guidance of a practitioner who can monitor you
