~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~
When Home Free does a cover, it’s almost always an upgrade. Their music can make you laugh, make you cry, make you think, warm your heart, but what ever the music is, Home Free will make you “feel” it.
You gonna mess around in this homefree rabbit hole and hit their song how great thou art. I really want to see your face for that one😂😂😳😂😂
At Last is cover is life changing
Percy Sledge would be PROUD to hear his song treated so well!!
Percy Sledge original artist. I grew up listening to Percy.
Trying to get your attention so I’m going to repeat myself. BUTTS REMIX. BUTTS REMIX. BUTTS REMIX!! You’ve seen how great they are! BUTTS REMIX is great musically, but shows how humorous they are also!!
Check out Home Free's rendition of the O'Jays "Love Train"
❤❤❤❤❤
If you haven't heard Austin sing Bring Him Home (from Les Misérables) you really need to! I was in tears at the end of the song. It's positively angelic and powerful! It's on his solo channel.
Percy Sledge singing this amazing Song. I know many Cowers. But i tell you. This is the best Cover of this Song what i ever listen.👍👍👍
Home Free is my favorite a-capella group period. There are others I like a lot, but they step outside of their comfort area (country) all the time and SLAY it......just like this tune.
From what I've heard, the beat boxer is a national champion beat boxer and has awards for his ability to do so
My heart saaangs when I listen to Home Free.
Home Free is SPECIAL in my opinion they are the best😍
Singing their faces off! Just rip out my heart!
Mr. Sledge is tearing up in Heaven! This is the "REAL THANG!!"
anytime Home Free covers a Song it becomes a Home Free song
This is stunning. Percy's version is stunning. They are different. Don't think one needs to be "better"
And to add to that check out John Berry version. Awesome as well!
@@alisakibler7538 don't know that one. Will check it out. Thanks
@@Peter-oh3hc yes, he country, but can hold a note.
Well said. Can’t possibly choose one.
Percy Sledge Michael Bolton Humphrey they're not exact same thing so they all have their own style but I think they all have incredible quality and gut-wrenching emotion but yeah Percy I think wins on the emotion
Several artists have covered this song over the years but the original was recorded by Motown artist Percy Sledge. Here's a link to him Percy Sledge - When A Man Loves A Woman (Live) - UA-cam. One of the reasons people love this group so much is their sense of humor so maybe it's time for you to see some of that. I'd suggest Country Fried Pop Medley, the Butts Medley, or It's All About The Bass. They have a bit of fun with all of those. So glad you've found Home Free.
Maybe their cover of Hillbilly Bone too.
Percy Sledge was not Motown he was Muscle Shoals. Stax was Memphis, Motown Detroit, and Muscle Shoals Alabama.
Definitely (please!) check out the Butts Medley (remix), Hillbilly Bone, and Thinking Out Loud / Let's Get it on (my favorite from a video aspect-the whole song in one take) .
@@allenwitbeck6804 definitely!!
@@fhc2473 ohhhh yes!
Boy I love love Percy! I also love love Home Free! Talent is talent! Love your reactions!!!
Love Home Free!! Thanks. Love You!!
Personally, I think this is the best version of this song I have ever heard. It tops Percy and Michael Bolton and Bolton is damn good. But Austin? He takes it to another level.
Yes indeed!
I totally agree!
Nope.
HF doesn't do covers... They do UPGRADES!!! 😛😀
@I'm your Huckleberry , I was either 17 or 18 years old when Percy Sledge released this song in 1966....sound quality was nowhere near as good as today. I became an instant Percy Sledge fan. Do I love they have put such an exciting spin on the old song, of course. But to say it tops what Percy did is not fair. Two different era's and multiple voices with superior sound today....I love this but I loved Percy's rendition for the day it was played in.
Maaaaaannnnnnn, Homefree doing a cover of ring of fire please!!!! The last note tho!
Home Free never misses on a song. Do you hear what I hear will blow you away. Thanks for your time and energy.
I agree, their cover and arrangement of Do You Hear What I Hear is incredible!!
Adam Rupp did that arrangement. It’s incredible for sure.
The best arrangement of this carol on the planet.
@@GaiaOne the video is stunning. Chris Rupp (founder and former member of Home Free) did a reaction to this video and does some behind the scenes stuff on his channel. Good stuff.
This is exceptional! They are a soulful group.
They take my breath, amazing talents.
WHAT I REALLY LOVE ABOUT HOME FREE IS THAT THEY ARE SO HUMBLE EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooooo MUCH soul! Dayum I love this version of this classic song.
I am still in love with Sir Percy's rendition, but I am in awe of Home Free's cover. It's like putting a cherry on top of a Hot Fudge Sunday, all you can say is yeaaaaaah!
We knew you would appreciate this one. Home Free has killed everything they have done. Great reaction
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You can throw darts blind folded in the dark to pick a song from Home Free and you are guaranteed to land on pure gold. They are absolutely incredible. You should check out their covers of God Bless The Broken Road or Go Rest High On That Mountain or if you want a song that shows off their comedic side as well as their musical range you should check out the Butts medley/ Butts remix. It is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!
"Dude is nasty" 🤣🥰
Love it, and so correct. Austin is melted butter. 😍
He is actually singing to his wife and you can tell the love he has for her with the emotions of his eyes. 🥰
His girlfriend.
It was his girlfriend, and she was the only one in the studio with him while he was recording this.
Girlfriend
Love to see the reaction of an audience @ The Apollo Theater.... 6 guys like this singing Motown songs like this.... Priceless!!!
Percy Sledge, WONDERFUL!
All the members of Home Free are very talented as individuals.
Austin's voice is so amazing and he puts all his emotions in what he sings. This group is amazing
This group kept most of us sane during quarantine, putting out new content at least every other week. They even did a new song named "Quarantine."
Go rest high on that mountain and God bless the USA will bring you to tears!!! Love your channel!! You have to listen to these!!!
Home Free has a way of covering a song, taking it, and making it their own. With absolutely no disrespect against the original performer(s).
They released this while under quarantine. All were in different locations, which makes this even more amazing. Austin was singing to his girlfriend who was on stage but out of sight.
I love their "Mayday"!
Another favorite! Righteous Brothers from around 1963....."my times"
😎👍 can't wait to see you check more of their content!
I'm not sure who wrote it, but Percy Sledge was the famous singer who brought it to life, then Michael Bolton picked it up in 1991 and did his amazing cover of it, but I think Home Free outdid Michael Bolton in my opinion.
They did not do Michael Bolton their version of just unique because of the Bebop and it was written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright
Seriously, I don’t even think it’s close! Home free owns this!
@@billhill4929 no they don't own it Percy Sledge still has the best rendition homefree would come in third only reason they get such a reaction is cuz they do it differently they do it with the beatboxing and their acapella nature it's a great rendition but let's not act like it's better than the originals
YOU GOT MY $13
@@lewisgriffin9684 That’s your opinion
MORE HOME FREE, PLEASE
The way you talk about music, and how you express yourself, I'm fully confident you will love Home Frees cover of Helplessly Hoping.
And it's really short, so your time commit is gonna be well worth it.
Bet ya 13 bucks you dig it.
They really did this song right. I watched Percy Slege perform this song many times over the years, as we are from the same area, may he rest in peace.
Although several other artists have sung this song, I totally agree with you that Home Free's rendition is the best!
Home Free is so refreshing! I love that each cover they do allows them to showcase their talents in a different way. I AM A HOME FRY FOR LIFE!
Home Free did a beautiful tribute to Percy Sledge's version. Austin sang the song the same way Percy sang it.
HOME FREE did a fantastic job, of course they did!!! I have not yet seen a bad performance, and I have been following them for 20 years! Every member is just as good as the lead at the moment...AUSTIN BROWN! THAT GREAT, AND I DO MEAN GREAT, BASS, TIM FOUST IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! You can hear him coming through solid!!! He holds the entire band together! The mighty PERCY SLEDGE sang this first!!! But this is the best that I have ever heard it sung !!! GREAT JOB, GUYS! THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO MY GUYS, HOME FREE!
What is even more amazing is that they were all in separate places. They each recorded their background parts and sent them to their producer. He put the background video together and Austin Brown sang the lead. They did several songs like this for their fans during quarantine.
Percy Sledge an awesome musician from Mississippi. R.I.P Percy
This was recorded during lock down. They each recorded their parts and the producer put it all together. It just blows my mind that they are so talented they can not have music to listen to yet they are in beautiful harmony.
This is a Percy Sledge song. Austin killed it! If you're going to react to Home Free, then you can expect a LOT more subs and likes. The Home Fries (the Home Free family are referred to as Home Fries) are HUGE in numbers, and very loyal! the more you react to them, the more will show up for you.
I'm going to stand by my request from earlier posts. Sometime between now and Christmas, I STRONGLY recommend "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". It features Home Free's LIVE (recorded live last year) collaboration with their musical predecessors and mentors, the Oak Ridge Boys. Jeffery East is also there and introduces the song with an inviting and reverent solo. When the Oaks and Home Free join in, the sheer POWER is damn near overwhelming. Even with headphones, you can literally FEEL this song body AND soul.
Absolutely!! So beautiful 😍
And then "Do You Hear What I Hear" !!
@@ruthcurfman7532 yes!!! It's amazing!
Absolutely! You won't be disappointed!
Thrilled you are reacting to this amazing group. They are out of this world good! And Austin kills the vocals on this song. Thank you for a great reaction!
What a great reaction. This is my first time watching you and it was FANTASTIC. Home Free don’t do covers, they do upgrades!!!!! I would recommend Brothers in Arms for you as well. That is a newest release of their videos. Great song off of their patriotic album
Austin Brown can blow...his voice is amazing...the Beat Boxer Adam Rupp is a freak of nature and he has a Drum Solo you should check out it will blow your mind...he is unreal...ty again for another great reaction Van!
Never knew these guys before, so cool. I keep forgetting there are NO instruments, amazing
Home Free is great, and also in Gospel Music.
BEST version of this EVER! Love the original version, but this one takes to ALL the way home! Oh, my goodness! ❤️
I love the music of Home Free. I love their ability to have so much fun with it and bringing us along. I also enjoy greatly their version of How Great Thou Art.
The best group ever acapella
That's some blue eyed soul. I love everything they sing. Seven bridges road, hillbilly bone, MY CHURCH
I think the thing about this version of the song is the pure emotion in Austins voice a of course the spot on harmonies.
Percy Sledge first. Michael Bolton has done it also
Hella better than the original! These guys are amazing!
You should really check out their cover of "Brothers in Arms". Is absolutely stunning. Also, if you like Adam's beatboxing he has a live "drum solo" that is fantastic.
That cover is amazing!
You gotta check out Do You Hear What I Hear...Tim's bass is RIDONKULOUS!
Percy ,i think would approve of this cover .
I can't stop listening to the HomeFree john mayer cover "Always in the Blood". Hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
I get chills every time I watch this video or listen to this song.
I love this group so much!!! Please react to more Home Free!!
In my opinion, you are so right. I have always enjoyed the original, but now I like this one better. These guys just bring something different.
Wonderful reaction! Beat boxer is Adam Rupp. I am so glad you enjoyed it and yes they can SANG.
You are dag gum right about that! IMHO this is the best version! These guy's killed it with this one and that's how it is with everything they do! Phenomenal musicians and performance! Wow, thank you so much for your reaction! You have a new sub and new fan to your channel! Appreciate you! Glad you are enjoying Home Free! Anxiously waiting for more!
Percy Sledge was never beat in this song and no one could compare, Home Free sure did the song justice.
"When a Man Loves a Woman" is a song written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright and first recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966 at Norala Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama. It made number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B single
Their voices are amazing. I liked your reaction 💞.
Austin sings with such great joy.
This is Austin Brown finest moment, I 🤔 think. I don't get tired of hearing it over and over again
😂 "C'mon bro. Your not gonna just hit that note so easily and move on". 🤣 I love your reaction and you're not alone. We are ALL blown away with this band but especially this song done by them. I love Percy but this is my new favorite in my playlist.
Absolutely the best ❤️❤️❤️
Percy Sledge did the song in the sixties. He did great. Home Free does a great job also. I'm showing my age, remembering Percy Sledge.
Percy Sledge is the original singer. I used to listen to this song over and over again. This is the best cover EVER!!
Smooooth
BTW the most epic rendition of this song I've ever heard.
Sea Shanty, and Folsom Prison Blues! I’m never disappointed
Yep it was Percy Sledg years ago who wrote & was the singer of it. I absolutely agree with you that Home Free sounded even better, no music either!! FANTASTIC!!
Beatboxer: Adam Rupp
Bass: Tim Foust
Lead singer (on this): Austin Brown
Tenor: Rob Lundquist
Baritone (among other things): Adam Chance
I love Home Free
I love the original by Percy, but love this version just as much...different but both powerful. Sometimes when you hear a cover first, it becomes the favorite. Other times the original when heard switches your opinion, but doesn't diminish the love for the cover. Beautiful thing about music, something for everyone. Thank you Sir for your reaction!
Even Michael's Bolton version is better than this lol.
@@Befree898 roflmao absolutely fucking not. clean out your ears
@@jonzgurl4ever yes, you like this guy better because he is better looking and younger than Percy and Bolton. I bet you think than Justin Bieber is a great singer too lol. Don't worry, every one get older.
@@Befree898 What kinda goofy shit are you even on? I couldn't give a fck if someone looks good...I like music for how it SOUNDS. AND I prefer Percy over this one but nice try
@@jonzgurl4ever dear Missy l don't use drugs sweetie. I prefer some alcohol better and not very often. After clarifying that l am glad that there still hope for you since you admit that Percy version is better than this one. Have a nice weekend!
I'm usually a purist when it comes to iconic songs like this one, but every time Home Free covers a song, I end up liking it better than the original! They are truly, truly amazing! Check out their versions of "Folsom Prison Blues", "Take Me Home Country Roads", and "Butts Medley". You won't be disappointed!! 🔥🔥
Percy sledge‘s version is my favourite song since my teenager time , but now I am totally in love with this one ..
Flawless victory
Each member of this group is phenomenal, I've been a huge fane for years...but please check out an Adam Rupp (the drummer/beat-boxer) vocal drum solo . It will blow your mind. Great reaction, thank you so much!
Percy Sledge sang the original in 1966 and I grew up listening to this song. I will say it is good, But Austin took it to another level. He is just a superior vocalist and really moves me with his music. I am a Huge Home Free fan and enjoy them Very much. They are all extremely talented and also have an outstanding live show. I enjoyed your reaction very much and would love to hear you react to more Home Free. Their newest release would be great, "Brothers in Arms" was release just before veterans day.
this about made me fall out of my seat they are amazing its percy sledge big hit in the 60s 70s
