~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~
These masculine voices are like God’s powerful, protecting Angels.
Thank you so much for appreciating our Veterans. My husband served for 23 years and is now a 70% disabled retired vet. a helicopter crash ended his career but his and our loyalty to this country and its people has never wavered. God bless America!
HOME FRIES AND HOG FAMILY 2 PEAS IN A POD 🤣 HOG FAMILY 4 LIFE 🎯😎
Navy veteran here. You're welcome. And you're right...most of us don't do it for thanks. But it's nice to know we're appreciated.
This is about a dying soldier talking to the men round him, the words are heartbreaking...
His brothers in arms...
The high notes in the background is done by the guy with the long hair, Austin Brown
As a mother of a seriously injured soldier in the Iraq war, I sooo appreciate hearing you tell people thank you for your service. Don’t ever apologize because of “people”.
A masterpiece in harmony ... for another one try "Helplessly Hoping" . Yes , you will love The Butts Medley !!!
Ditto, DITTO, Ditto....
Is Presley your real name, or just your chanel name?
Just my channel name ... wish it was real ... think of the memories !!!
@@ppresley9208
I have noticed quite a few with the Presley name.
Beautiful man inside and out and such a tragedy ❤
LONG LIVE THE KING
Amen , Jenny !!!!
Their names is written on the grave because they are singing from the graves. The stand in front of windows and you can see right through them. This is masterful.
Have you heard them sing How Great Thou Art? All their songs are wonderful, but when they sing back to God it is extra special! God gave these young men voices like these to bring glory to Him! Please react to How Great Thou Art! Thank you!
Love when chance does his solos and I love love and Adam the beatboxer/ vocal percussionist sings! I think he had the high part. His range is ridiculous!
As a child of the Viet Nam War era, this arrangement impacted me in a powerful way. Just awesome! My favorite of theirs so far.
The top note, would be Austin Brown. Back row, far right. He is their high tenor. The boy can almost sing soprano. He's amazing.
Hey Home Fries, do you think he's ready to see Tim's range?
This is one of my favorite Home Free covers. Not only is it a master class in five part harmony, it’s a somber, emotional journey. Tim and Chance’s silhouettes against the window are deliberately ghostly, a dying soldier’s spirit leaving the battlefield. Also, they are very similar to the POW-MIA remembrance flags we fly in honor of our military captured and missing. I have wondered if that too is deliberate. Thanks for reacting to Home Free and appreciating the beauty of their music.
This song was done by DIRE STRAITS after the BRITISH and FALKLAND ISLANDS BATTLES over the Islands attempt at independence from ENGLAND! In the song, there is alot of real heavy music which TIM covered to a tee! The harmonizing was remarkarkable. THIS VERSION IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!!! I MEAN, A MASTERPIECE!!! In my opinion, Tim and Chance's characters are either dead or on their way to death!!! You can tell by how you can see through them and of course, the lyrics!!! This band of men sung this song amazingly!! A MASTERPIECE, MASTERPIECE!!! IT IS PHENOMENOL!!!
I said this in a lot of reaction channels and on HF's comments, as a veteran who has laid my fellow veterans and retirees to rest for military funerals, this is one of those songs that can hit a certain cord in your heart.....the first time had me on my knees crying. Thinking about my friends who lost their mental battles abroad and home. It brought so many memories. That reverb/echo you hear reminds me how it sounds in a cemetery when TAPS is played. If you never heard cemetary acoustics, its super unreal.
I suggest something more upbeat now! How about Working for a Living. It's mind-blowing acapella greatness in a whole different way than this.
Thanks for the reaction! 🥰🙏
Tim definitely has a basement voice, like Mariana Trench deep in the ocean vocals.
Thank you for the shout out to the military USAF 1972/1992. You are so right I could and do listen to Home Free every day and am not ashamed to say so. I 100% agree with you on you will probably like the BUTTS REMIX it is so funny.
This songs makes me cry every single time I hear it.. this is incredibly beautifully done my Home Free. God bless LFR!
Once again Home Free knocks it out of the park.❤️
I never get mad if someone thanks a soldier for their service. My 19 yr old granddaughter is a private in US Army National Guard. God Keep Her Safe!
I can't speak for every vet, but I think most of us feel a little self-conscious when people thank us. We do appreciate it, we're just not sure how to respond to it. That being the case, if we seem a little awkward when you say it, please don't take it personally.
Some of this falls under the category of "if you know, you know."
I'm with you Chris, it is what we do we don't do it for recognition or praise, glory ,or medals, it's because we need to, for our mates next to us,but it's nice not to get the abuse that the Vietnam Veterans received.
No need to respond.. Just know we appreciate your service with all out hearts.
This song was originally written about the Falklands war. One of the (many) things I love about Home Free is the ability each of them has to vocalize the emotional context of a song. Too many singers today just recite words with seemingly no real understanding of the intent behind the song. Love your channel and reactions.
Everyone should thank our service personal for their service and sacrifices.♥️
You gotta check out “Go rest high on that mountain” by Home Free. Song and video brought me to tears. Very touching song and great harmonies
Yes thank you to all that serve our country and our freedom. I asked some of my veteran friends at the VFW and some other people and no they appreciate when we say, Thank you for your service!!
Home Free is considered a country vocal band but they are much more than that.
This is a testament to their talent.
They can sing any type of music.
If you like Christmas songs....they are amazing.
Wow. I am moved to tears and can hardly move.......tissues please...heart melt. Oh my Goodness...Our sons and daughters, Fathers and Mothers...our families who SERVED. There are NO words. God Bless you ALL.
Spokane, WA
Here they just do harmony in background. This is a emotional song , patriotic.
This isn’t just a song.......this is a HYMN🙏😢
When I came home(1968), I didn't exactly get welcomed back. I'm glad to see we're doing a better job of that today.
Thank you for your reaction💖.
Helplessly Hoping is another masterpiece, everything they do is outstanding 🔥🔥
Tim (the ultra bass) has a 5 octave range! Wanna see how far down or up he is about to go... watch his right hand. They all are multi octave Geniuses , Tim just shows it more physically. They have a ton of stuff but when you are ready for "ridiculous " listen to Mayday (pay attention and watch all the hands)
I don't think you will find any home fries who mind you thanking our military for their service. HF is a very patriotic group. Thanks for sharing.
Home Free are one of the most patriotic God fearing group of men. You should listen to some of their gospels. Amazing Grace for one.
I got to see these guys 2 years ago. There was not a dry eye in the audience at the singing of this. One of the few times I cried in public and didn’t care who watched. 22 years US Army. Retired as a Major. My emotions flow up for all of my Brothers and Sisters in Arms that are no longer with us.
I'm an old fart; retired Army Paratrooper, Vietnam Vet, Iraq War Vet, thank you! So many times, "Thank you for your service" seem so trite. Your heart is thanks enough!
What a beautiful song. That bass brings me to tears. Gorgeous.
God Bless all who have served this great Country! Very emotional song
I don't know what "poll" you ran, but Thank You very much for acknowledging our service members! I am not a Veteran, but many family members are or were. There is nothing more impressive than people that would/will risk their lives for others, that they do not know, because of their love of people or just the IDEA! That IDEA is our country, and it is always under threat because people are jealous, or they have forgotten what the IDEA was! It isn't about religion or race like they try to make it (although there has been a steep learning curve on both), it is about innate rights that people have. Innocent people have the right to be FREE, first and foremost. It isn't about equal outcome, it is about equal opportunity. Yes, those people born rich may have a head start, but look at how many of them fail in the grand scheme of things because they aren't sincere in their actions. There may be a few bad actors, but in my book, I will take a Veteran or First Responder over just about anybody on any given day and trust them with my safety and my wallet. God Bless! Peace, Love!
And the bass, TIM FOUST, has a 5+ octave range!!! He can sing tenor as well as he sings bass! They were ALL great! WONDERFUL SONG!
They sing with emotion . These guys are very patriotic. Some great song to listen to are all of them🙂, One Man Band , Working for a Living, H9use Party, Helplessly Hoping. Just to name a few
Mark Knopfler wrote this in reaction to the Falklands war between the UK and Argentina, as stupid and pointless a war as ever was. It is written from the perspective of a soldier dying on the battlefield, speaking to his comrades, his brothers in arms.
I love the fact that you know who is responsible for the fact that you sleep safe in your bed at night, and you are so appreciative.
Ultra-patriotic, they cover several songs. They do a collaboration with Lee Greenwood (78 and still slaying it) and the Singing Sargents of the Air Force band -- God Bless the USA. Their latest album Land of the Free, has several patriotic songs.
Traveling Soldier is another of my favorites from them.
Yes, they made it patriotic, However, keep in mind this song was written by a Brit and I don't think patriotism was his intention. Another poster stated this well: "We're fools to do battle with our brothers in arms" isn't about fighting our own men; it's about fighting other soldiers in other armies (and we have just one world, but we live in different ones). The lyric recognizes that while they may be from different countries, soldiers on opposing sides are also "brothers in arms", no less honorable, no less courageous, their sacrifices no less painful.
@@Minisquid100 Really, an anti war song. Without being anti soldier.
@@Minisquid100 Once the shooting starts we have far more in common with the soldiers we're killing than with the civilians who send us there.
Such a great song and vedio from Home Free. So glad these 5 men found each other. I think I have recommended Moonshine before but if I haven't then it should be your next Home Free reaction. Great reaction as usual
Gotta agree with you Debbie, I love Moonshine. but Van, you gotta do the Butts remix . looks like they had so much fun making the video. They also did All About the Bass, and they have a bloopers video online to go with it too
Thank you. It was my honor. My daughter and her husband are currently serving in the Navy.
Beautiful reaction.
Awesome reaction for Memorial Day. Yes, thanks to all for your service.
This song is amazing. It hits dif for me. Retired vet here that seen more than my share of combat and when artists pour their hearts out in their music it really makes us feel appreciated in a world where so many are conflicted. This group is amazing.
Next, please do "THE BUTTS REMIX". YOU WILL BE LAUGHING FOR A WEEK! THIS WAS A MASTERPIECE! TIM FOUST, YOU GET BETTER EVERY DAY THAT YOU LIVE!!! THE HARMONIES...WERE SPECTACULAR!
A salute to all my brothers in arms! Semper Fi
Haven't heard anything bad from this group. Love their light-hearted stuff, too. (Down to the Honkytonk, Butts Remix, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget, Hillbilly Bone. . .) Favorite contemplative song: In the Blood. Let's hear more, please!
What a beautiful song for our sons brothers uncles that have fallen so young in all conflicts
Thank you for the comments to those who serve.
Helplessly Hoping 🤩
Austin always has the top note and blends with whatever there is.
So hauntingly beautiful. Loved Tim’s lows. Loved the echoes. Loved the black and white film. Tim and Chance looked ghost like in the windows. Good reaction LFR.
That was Austin Brown their high tenor on that high harmony, everyone just sounded otherwordly. That song is so powerful and brings me to tears everytime. And I would like to Thank You for your sincere thanks to our brothers in arms who have fought and served for us.
The visual plus the voices brings it home.😂
I appreciate your appreciation of service. My father died in Vietnam in 1966 and it's hard to honor him with so many na sayer.
Take me home country roads is a very good mix and they kill the cover upgrade. Butts remix is fire as well. End of the road and there relationship with Shawn is one of their best.
Imagine all the practicing, lessons and training as a group and individually. My husband is a concert violinist and has been practicing 4 hours a day since he was five and still finds new inspiration every day. It's not easy and it's not just talent, it's a never ending exploration of the huge universe of music.
I very seldom comment, but feel I have to here. We all know how great Home Free is, my comments are on you and your presentation. First, kudos to the fact that the performers are featured while you put your picture smaller and in the corner, your respect for the singers is really appreciated. Your restraint has not gone unnoticed by this old man who had been performing for over 7 decades.
Van made me choke on my own saliva with the “from the pubes” comment. 🤣🤣🤣 But seriously, this song always puts me in a serious, reflective place, and that ending sooo reminds me of the “Amen” towards the end of a church doxology or something… incredibly appropriate in match to the prior lyrics. I also thing Van was right about his thoughts on the Butts Remix.
That was hilarious 😂
LEVELS...is the answer, to the magic.
Such a sad beautiful song. Made me cry...
So nice for the Patriotism.. always makes me happy to see, and your right my brother, thank you for posting this video and service.. Thank You for Serving
Blue ain't your color is a must. Smooth.
These guys are as good as it gets, they could sing the phone book and it would be worth listening to. I'm so glad you discovered the. Next you need to go see them in person !!! Check out their original "What the world is coming too" for a positive vibe and message
Then that is an extraordinary response and reaction because those guys are. I'm more than just a little bit spectacular
There is something in the richness and heart to Homefree. I was privilidged to see them about 3 weeks ago live and it was probably one of the three top live performances I've seen. If you want to move on to something fun and not so heavy, the Butts Remix, Hillbilly Bone or Beer Budget (which iirc is a Tim original) are all a right giggle. Have a shiny bright day all of ye all.
Adam Chance (2nd singer goes by Chance) is like smooth whiskey. His voice is so mellow and he has taken lead on more songs the last few years. I like PTX but because I prefer male voices the gents of HF are my favorite. It's definitely a rabbit hole if you get into it but SO worth it. They so more originals than some of the other a capella groups and it is all amazing. Love all your reactions but your HF ones are my faves. And we are fanatical home "fries". You keep it real and I like that. Thanks for a great reaction and happy holidays!!!
War is hell, and the wounds go far deeper than the body. I cannot wait for the day when all war will cease, and in men's hearts will only be peace.
I'd say Chance (solo #2) is their secret weapon, but all 5 of these guys are a secret weapon lol. Tim (bass) has a 5 octave range, Chance has a 4 octave range, Rob (big guy w beard) also has a big range, not just with the notes he can hit, but stylistically speaking as well. He can sing country, blues, r&b, soul, pop, rock, etc and alter his tone to flow with it. Austin (skinny guy w beard) can hit soprano notes, to go with his tenor. All 4 of them can do some beatboxing. Adam is a world champion beatboxer, who is also trained as a drummer (why his vocal percussion is so realistic), that can also sing tenor and high tenor.
Thank you and everyone for all the love! This is such a hauntingly beautiful rendition. Many thanks for reacting to the song! Give Bless the Broken Road a chance. It's a love story and has been covered by many, but I believe this one is the best. Adam Rupp does a sick heartbeat beat, and the harmonies are beautiful.
Tim Foust sings down in the depts and tenor too. Love Home Free. Lesson to Mayday, next.
God bless the U.S.A.!
Helplessly Hoping and Mayday are two fantastic covers from these guys. Mayday may be their best cover. You'll be blown away. Everything you think you know will be questioned.
This five part harmony arrangement is from the Finnish A Capella group Club For Five. Tim asked Tuukka, the bass from Club for Five for the arrangement. He sent it to them. Tuukka highly praised it, and loved the "echo" sequences that Home Free added to their arrangement. Tuukka is a friend and mentor to Tim and a Basso profondo of the highest degree himself. Check out the Club for Five video for this song.... I think you will like it as well.
Tim Foust - Bass (Lead)
Chance (Adam Chance) - Baritone
(Second Lead)
Austin Brown - High Tenor
(Your top note)
Rob Lundquist - Tenor
(Best beard of the bunch)
Adam Rupp - Beatboxer / Vocal Percussionist / Tenor
Once you are familiar with the names and normal roles you can do "Mayday" but not before or it will confuse the crap out of you plus you won't appreciate it as much.
thank you for thanking those who serve. We owe them a great debt and much, much gratitude for their service and I don't think we thank them enough. Really enjoy your videos. This group is absolutely AMAZING!
I don't mind your pauses, I am here for your reaction. I like the detail. If you would like to see how they handle different genres in one song, I highly recommend "The Butts Remix/Medley" It's a lot of fun and you really get to see them stretch their talent.
This is a wonderful arrangement of Home Free. I love the deep voices of Tim and Chance. They really emphasize the message of the song. But Tim's super low notes kills it. I'm always fascinated by the easiness with which he sings his bass and how long he can hold those notes. Wow, a masterpiece from HF! Great reaction!
It brought me to tears.
I truly don't think I've seen this one do point either.. but here's the thing.. they are so talented... they blow me away every song.
i love hearing that! my son served in Iraq, i wanted to show him this song but worried it would be upsetting
Yes thank the men and women for you service
I watched this on Vetrans Day. I am a vet and cried like a baby, not for me, but for those still in hams way.
Tim, the Bass, talks that way. He has a very deep speaking voice. Austin, slim, long curly hair is a high tenor, Rob, cuddly one, is a tenor,. Adam Chance is a baritone/bass and Adam Rupp is the beatboxer. Land of the Free is a great song, and Tim wrote it.
Yes. We do live in different worlds and I’m really liking yours right now! Your pleasure is infectious!! 🙂
I'm an old white lady, who wanted to check you out and your reaction to HF. And I subbed! You're awesome Van! We all come from different worlds, but we can still be family. Would get a kick out of seeing you react to Butts Remix!
I'm so thrilled you are doing Home Free. This song is so hauntingly beautiful. Tim Foust the bass is in fact a true bass and in my opinion the best one out there now, he also has a 5 octave range, he's incredible as is all the guys on Home Free. I think you would enjoy their cover of In The Bood by John Meyer, The Butts Remix is definitely a fun song. In the spirit of Christmas songs you gotta do Snow Globe and Do Your Hear What I Hear is 🔥. Love your reactions
I am really enjoying your reactions to Home Free and yes you will love the Butt's remix, but am really looking forward to seeing you get YOUR Hillbilly bone on YEE HAW!!!!!
I like singers who can make me want to cry. Many who sing a sad song great can not do that to me. This has me crying.
Soooooo good! ❤️🔥👍✌️
Love your reaction, the reverence you showed was wonderful. Even Tim's speaking voice is low, he was truly gifted. Please check out Home Free's cover of Helplessly Hoping for one of their best displays of harmonies.
Beautiful tribute to fallen soldiers 😢
Tim taught himself as a preteen to sing bass. He worked very hard to train his voice. His natural voice is probably closer to a second tenor really.
