~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~
Avi putting his hat on is a tribute Tim, the king of Bass...
Funny thing is Avi and Tim both can sing at such a crazy range from one end of the spectrum to the other.
That last note by Tim was a G1. His bass rattles my head when I am wearing headphones. He has I believe a 5 octave range. He can sing all 5 in one song which blows my mind.
Home Fries, baby!!! Pentaholics and Home Fries!! And that note that Tim Fouts hits at the end is a G1, that means a low G one octave below the music staff. And that is NOT the lowest note the man can sing!! His basement is deeeeep!! Peace from Texas, my man!!
Wait ...my dude can get lower ...geez whats the lowest he can go ???? Have you heard his lowest ?
I think he goes lower in Folsom Prison Blues
Misty mountain too if I'm correct.
Home Free fans are called Home Fries!!
I have a shirt that says I’m a Proud Home Fry!
I also have a Pentaholic shirt!
Do they sell shirts that say that or did you have it made? Last time I looked it was just Home Free on the shirts.
@@minneyruth I actually bought it from a reactors merch store.
@@shortybarnesyanik oh wow, very cool. 😊 thank you for responding 🥰
That last deep note was Tim, and I've heard him do that in person, and it rattles your chest & butt....and that beat they used...that was "country raggae"....and it works perfectly !!!
Hearing Tim in concert is 🤯 he vibrates the whole building
Notice when Tim went lower than Avi, Avi took off his sock cap and put on a cowboy hat. Classy act. Just love you and JoJo! You always make me smile.
Avi Kaplan used to be the Bass for pentatonix. He’s been gone a good while now. He & Tim are friends & Tim gives him tips. Tim is a natural Bass….heck…he talks Bass.!!! Tim has a 5+ Octave range…..quite an Incredible guy 🥰‼️🥰🔥
I love the respect and admiration Tim, Avi and Geoff all have for each other, though the other two I'm pretty sure both consider Tim to be the GOAT of bass singing.
I am an unapologetic HOME FRY, frequent attender of concerts and follower of Home Free. They are the best!
\\
This was the 2nd song I heard when I discovered Home Free last year. It is done in a reggae calypso beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim & Avi. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off" Show (without Avi) Tim goes even lower & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.
Tim is a world class bass, but bringing in Avi with his bass in a different tone just gives it more color. Plus they get to show their higher ranges as well. I think Pentatonics kept Avi in the background a lot, so he was glad to help out.
When tim hits that G1 like he does at the end it's just goosebumps
Avi is the guy that went all the way to the basement ...lol...And Home Free fans ~ Well we are called Home Fries
Love watching your reactions to different videos...
God Bless
You are gonna have to do "misty mountains" with Tim and peter holland Tim will show a lil more of that basement,or check out Home Free do this for the 1st time on sing off when Tim hits that last note.. Great reaction man.
That last low note Tim hit dragon breath level. That was crazy.
You cracked me up there at the end trying to find that bass!
Tim can reach five octaves with his voice. That’s insane.
We are Home Fries! Been a fan of this group since they were on the Sing Off. It's fun watching you check out our boys.
Avi took his knit cap off at the end - and put on a cowboy hat. Cute.
The one in the beanie is Avi Kaplan (a bass) the last long, low note is Tim Faust (Home Free's bass). The beat is Country Ragae produced by Adam Rupp. Avi used to be with Pentatonix.
Foust....
Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay, Tim Foust of Home Free, and Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix love all their bass voices.
Also check Ivan Rebroff.
I remember being very young like 5 or 6, Daddy wanted a HIFI system, we went to J.M Fields, huge store back then, Daddy turned that puppy up full blast, Ring of Fire was playing, the electronics was right next to the glass and crystal displays, well, when he cranked that sucker up, all the ladies in the crystal dept broke a lot of glass and crystal. We DID NOT buy that HIFI, we left rather quickly! lol One of my favorite songs, and memories!
I think this song on the Sing Off is what snagged their win back in 2013.
I love them both. Tim has this amazing front forward voice, and Avi has a more rounded open voice. 💖💖💖
Avi is the cat wearing the knit cap that puts the cowboy hat on at the end, Avi, Tim Foust (Home Free) and Geoff Castellucci are all three just amazing performers.
Avi is the one with The Beanie on, and the one your Son said " He looks like Jesus. Also the one you said WHAT? Cause his Voice was in the Basement.
It amazes me they do all the sounds of instruments with their mouths.
You trying to hit that low note had me ROLLING! Awesome reaction!
I love how almost every time he said I don’t know who Avi was he had it paused on him or Avi started singing right after!😂
💯💯💯Avi Kaplan (guy w/beard and beanie)
This is the song that was my introduction to these blessed gentlemen. Just had discovered PTX and saw this collaboration so of course had to get my Avi fix. Was blown away and I found myself quickly becoming a Home Fry. Love these guys!
It’s not a battle, but they teamed up to do this LOL 😆 from a Loyal “Home Fry” an the “Drum Set” is Adam Rupp one of the founding members
Man having 2 guys on this one that can sing bass that’s Awesome
Thanks for a really good reaction. Avi did great and Tim brought it home. The rest of the guys were so good. Thanks.
Tim starts the song off (Home Free bass singer) Avi, sings second, that starts on the 1st floor to the basement (Pentatonix bass singer)
Fun fact...I became a Ptx fan with Hallelujah & Mary Did You Know, and I was hooked. When Avi left, I was searching for any music post Ptx from Avi Kaplan, and came across this song, and was like, alright, how IA it POSSIBLE I don't know who Home Free is? 😳 Hooked.
Thanks for checking out this one Van, I knew you would dig it. My next suggestion would be 16 Tons by Geoff Castellucci
Or Blackbird.
Most definitely Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay #TheatreKidsOfACappella
We are Home Fries. Avi is the bass that has the cowboy hat on. The one that you said started on the 1st floor and slid to the basement.
Saw Home Free live twice and Tim's bass notes rattle right through your chest. You really feel it. BTW, Avi left PTX at least 4 years ago. I love Home Free.
That last note is called 🔊 Subwoofer 😉
I love this song, June wrote this for Johnny Cash way back in the day. You know the boy named Sue song
And he holds that note for-ev-er!
Home Fries....Avi’s the one in the stocking cap, the really deep bass. the drum set is Adam Rupp who is literally a world class beatboxer. I don’t know what you’ve seen of them yet Van but How Great Thou Art, The Butts Medley, Helplessly Hoping, Mayday and Brothers in Arms are some you would appreciate.
Avi does have his stocking cap on except for the last note part where you see him put a cowboy hat back on after Tim's low note - - its tough to notice on a reaction screen but in the full screen video he removes a cowboy hat as a tip of the hat to Tim at the end which is strange because during the rest of the video he has a stocking cap on
1st low note was Avi Kaplan then last “earthquake “ was Tim Foust
That last note was Tim Foust singing a G1, but he has gone lower. Avi Kaplan, from PTX, was the other bass.
I love to see your facial expressions
There always singing to me
To answer the question about where that last note sits on the keyboard...
That was a G1. Yes, you read that correctly. And Tim can go lower. Man has literally blown out speakers with his low frequencies. Once he even caused part of the ceiling to collapse at a venue during a live performance.
Is it just me? The video is clearly a showcase for two amazing base singers. But I swear, Adam Rupp steals the show with an insane performance on vocal percussion.
Home Free fans are Home fries. Pentatonix fans are Pentaholics. Fans of BOTH groups make the Pentafries. 😄 Many of us love both groups. They are very different, IMO. They just sing the a cappella. And Avi is in the beanie hat (frequently wears one) who takes it off at the end and puts on the cowboy hat. 🤠 Fun Fact: The hat belonged to Chris in Home Free, and was later auctioned off for charity. 😃
Can’t wait for more Home Free reactions! Sounds like you are becoming a Home Fry (a fan). Much success with your channel. Look forward to more reactions on this group of very very talented men!
Enjoying the LFR family!
Glad to hear it!
Oh man...I love these Home Free series. There is a live version of this song they did on some Acapella TV contest. You don't have to make a reaction video but he did that low bass live...and when me and my wife were watching it live, we were amazed!!!
That last note is Home Free Tim Foust. You should check out his range in his solo album Tim Foust Come Go With Me
Avi the Bass!!!!! Love him!! ❣❣❣❣
That’s Avi from PTX! Tim and Avi are actually friends! 🤘
Home Free fans are called Home Fries, and we tend to be Very loyal and supportive of our guys !!! Please more and more reactions to Home Free, they have a huge selections of Amazing songs to choose from.
Right where you stopped and said, sounds like a drum set behind them, the man there, Adam Rupp, is their beat boxer. He and his brother, Chris Rupp, 1st man in the cowboy hat, started the group in 2000.
You are too precious!!! I luv your reactions, especially when it's Home Free, lol! Thank you! Can't wait for more! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
This comment made me smile. Thank YOU! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
It depends if your keyboard goes that Low but if it does, its about G1 or G2 🤭😁 Thats Tim Foust.. im always consistently mind blown at the fact that he has a vocal range that spans FIVE octaves.. 😱🤯
That deep voice was Avi Kaplan the guy with the head wrap
Suggestions: "Misty Mountains" Peter Hollens & Tim Foust, "Folsom Prison Blues," Home Free (you'll love Tim's serial killer grin!) Then to the opposite end of the spectrum would be "My Maria," Austin Brown & Tim Foust. "Mayday" is another one, but most folks suggest not watching it until the reactor knows each member by name what their role is in the group. In Home Free's "Sea Shanty Medley" you can really hear Tim's bass come through. The list goes on forever!
So now you know who is who, check out some of Avi's music since his departure from Pentatonix. He is amazing!
LOL @ Avi being the one who was singing when you paused and admitted you didn't know which one was Avi ;)
Avi is a base for PTX and has a beard & is wearing a beanie (he puts on a cowboy hat at the very last note, but Tim sings that very last low note.). Tim also sings base & goes way low in this one, but also way high! Do yourself a favor & check out their performance of this on “The Song-Off” & Johnny Cash’s original version of it. Avi also is in Home Free’s video for “Champagne Taste” (hilarious!!! You should watch it!) in the bar scene. #HomeFryForLife 💓🙏🏻
Your comment on movie actors made me come up with another deep-voiced actor - Michael Clarke Duncan (may he rest in peace). His voice would be right at home next to Tim Foust's.
We’re called Home Fries. Love this band. You should listen to “ Man of Constant Sorrow” or “ How Great Thou Art”. Some of their best work.
Great reaction! Their talent knows no bounds. This was a very fun take on Ring of Fire and great to see dueling bassists. You really need to react to Home Free's cover of Mary Did You Know? The vocal percussion, bass drops, and harmonies are some of their best yet! But for a really fun, lighter side of Home Free, you need to react to The Butts Medley. These boys like to have a good time and this song showcases their talents and their style!
We are called Home Fries
I think it's G1. Avi is the guy donning the cowboy hat in honor of Tim's note, at the end. Avi always wears a beany.
Heavenly beutifull soulful smooth 😊
MORE HOME FREE, PLEASE
I seen them in Greensboro NC when Tim hit that note plaster fell from the ceiling it was so great
The "basement" guy is Avi. Listen to Avi's song "Chains"
Home Fries! The other base guy with the beard and cap is Avi Kaplan.
Home Fries Van..and a very loyal fan base
Johnny Cash’s wife wrote this & Johnyy Cash sang it. I’m afraid no other version works for me. These guys are incredibly talented of course 🙂❤️
Avi wears the knit hat. He slid to the basement😉
That last note is G1! (If Avi's in the bass-ment [lol], Tim's *subterranean*!)
Home fry here love this group
The one you said went to the basement is Avi, he is also wearing a knit cap
While this version of Ring of Fire is great, I honestly prefer Home Free's version on Season 4 of the Sing-Off. The judges loved it, too.
Don't try that note you might hurt yourself! You had me laughing. Great reaction. Our Tim can go even lower as other home fries will tell you.
Anyway everyone is talking about the bassists but I was watching your hands. Very elegant and beautiful hands.
Love this version!!! Spoiler Alert: Tim wins! The first low note- Avi. The LAST low note- Tim
And Avi just tipped his hat and smiled lol
I've heard, as I don't have the musical knowledge, that last note was a G1.
Worst part, is that is not Tim's lowest note. He has wrecked sound systems before. Suck an utter beast, with a 5 octave range
@@timhonigs6859 5 and notes. Geoff is like 6 by now. Avis is close too.
@@Iansco1 check Ivan Rebroff as well.
He doesnt win. They are not comparable. It is chest note vs growl aith some fry.
And it is not winning depending on note. avi has fuller sound.
They are both great.
We are...the Home Fries...aka the Home Frizzles! But I remain a Pentaholic for life. Avi Kaplin is the original bass for Pentatonix prior to Matt Salle. Their connection, the 2 groups, is winning the Sing Off. Brilliance is Avi being brought in to bass here with Tim. Avi sang lead in Ptxs Hallelujah...you said he looked like Jesus. Here, he wore a beanie, then switched to the cowboy hat at the end, signifying his switch up from pop to country music for this. Avi is the one you said hit the basement...
LOVE YOUR REACTIONS
The guy you said went to the basement is Avi from Pentatonix
That last note was a G#1, done by Tim
The guy that went to the basement is Avi.
Avi has a knit cap on and at the end Tim put on a cowboy hat
Love it ! Were your HomeFreeFam here! Not just fans but your unseen family enjoying music with you! Love from Florida!
This is a great cover by Home free & Avi...Tim & Avi are both amazing bass singers...the last low note was Tim but Avi can also go that low...TCB
Avi is the base that you were questioning about!
The guy who went from the second floor to the basement.... that was Avi. From pentatonix.
Home Fry front and center. Big Avi, former bass for PTX, fan too.
Tim and Avi complement one another
AVI was the bass for PTX and he's doing solos now. You should also check out the Sing Off version of this song. AVI is the one in the beanie who changes to a cowboy hat at the end. That guy's basement was done by AVI! You must check out Adam Rupp's drum solos... I like the one from 2019. People often say that Adam swallowed a drum set. Enjoyed your reaction, stick with us Home Fries for a fantastic journey down the rabbit hole.
I'd love to see you react to home frees mayday! There bass singer Tim opens but not in a way you would expect!
Another vote for Geoff Castellucci here.
But also check out "Misty Mountains - Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust"
