    Thanks for the suggestions everybody. Sincerely appreciate the interaction. Looks like we have a lot of video to shoot this week. We have a big temp drop this week along with shifting winds so it will be interesting out there.

    The chair your sitting on while running the boat appears to be portable.
    Is there a brand name for it?
    Id like one for my jon boat.
    Thanks.

      Hey Donny, yes there are deep water areas. There is also super clean and clear shallows. A bit tough to fish but very cool to see. As much as we like to catch fish both Dave and I really like all the cool things about this lake you get to see when you slow down and take the time to look around.

      Hey Roy,
      Should have the next video up by tomorrow evening and it happens to cover the far south east deep pond. It is tough to get to it you don't know where the canals are that get you there. Definitely some very fishy waters back there.

    I will be heading over there second week of May. I will be by myself. Would love to hook up with one of you. I have a Trx 20 Triton Bass boat. I would rather not loose a prop!

      Hi Lenny, Please follow the information for navigating Headwaters in our earlier videos. Stop by the bait shop and say hello, we would be delighted to meet you. Barry and I are usually there on Thursdays at 4PM. We hope you have a great week on the lake...keep us posted. Be safe and fish well!

      @@BeyondHeadwaters Thanks for the reply. Your map videos were the best. I have printed out the maps from FWC and have a good idea where I want to fish - thanks to you guys. I’ll be on the water May 18, 19 & 20th. Unfortunately I will be towing my boat back to NH Thursday morning so I’ll miss you guys on Thursday. My boat comes back down in Nov, and somewhere around there I’ll stop in to see you guys. In the meantime, keep up the good work, I look forward to your videos every week!

    I guess this opening for the E/W canal was blocked when I was there the other day lol cause when I took a right out of the N/S canal I was in some thick submerged grass...and my lowrance showed me on dry ground lol. Good thing I had google maps on my phone

    I would like you to continue to explore the far West canal at the Pump House, going South, all the way to Egan Lake, at the very Southern embankment. Also, I would like you to explore the far, far, East side of the Lake, way East of the North/South Canal (the S - Canal) all the way to the far Eastern embankment. Thank you.

    • @BeyondHeadwaters
      @BeyondHeadwaters  4 роки тому

      Hey Brian, Thanks for the comment. Absolutely, we will be putting that area through the lens. Hoping this fall wind will settle down. The lake looks better when it's calm and it makes it a bit easier to film. Good fishing!

    What part of the lake is the LEAST fished

    • @BeyondHeadwaters
      @BeyondHeadwaters  3 роки тому

      That is a tough question. Most head to the very south west to Egan. There are some very nice areas to the south east of the S Canal. Most folks have not fished even close to 10 percent of the lake. Good Fishing and thanks for the question.

  • @skoli55

    Seems like everyone likes to go south. How is north from the pump house area fishing?

    • @dgatz1247
      @dgatz1247 3 роки тому

      Yes I was wondering the same thing.

    • @BeyondHeadwaters
      @BeyondHeadwaters  3 роки тому

      Great question. Dave and I have fallen into the same trap for the most part although we have done some exploring. The north is duck hunting grounds and with the season recently being open we have not ventured that direction but when it is closed I think it would be a good area to cover. Appreciate the question. Good Fishing!

      @@BeyondHeadwaters I fished the northeast corner on day out of a kayak. There are a bunch of small grass islands over there with some deep water pockets. Ended up in a shallow bay with 3 other local kids fishing out of a kayak. For about 45 min. Fished turned on and all of us where catching big fish on flukes and swim baits. Heading back to the kayak launch the wind began to blow and fish were stacked up on the down wind side of small grass islands. I was crushing em on horny toads and swim baits. Great memory.

    • @BeyondHeadwaters
      @BeyondHeadwaters  3 роки тому

      @@davidredding7694 that's awesome. That is an area on our list to cover. The wind blown banks and cover do provide some good opportunities for sure. Appreciate the conversation. Good fishing!

      @@BeyondHeadwaters yes fishing from a kayak is challenging there. I would always plan my day by heading to the wind ward side of reservoir in morning so that the wind would push me toward launch in evening.

    Hey gang.
    Ive heard about a bunch of stumps and underwater hazards. Can you give us some points where they are so we don't hit the darn things

    • @BeyondHeadwaters
      @BeyondHeadwaters  2 роки тому

      Headwaters has few stumps and hazards. Stick to the main canals and channels until you become familiar with the lake. Be careful when running across (away from main canals) from section to section as you may run into shallow soft bottom. You'll be fine, enjoy the lake and get some fish.
      We will be posting a new video on how to navigate the lake from top to bottom in the next day or two. This video will be really helpful.

    U are doing a great service for everyone, also I keep hearing about lake Keansville(wrong spelling), have u fished it?, it's in that area ? Also do u get cell phone service at Headwaters?

    • @BeyondHeadwaters
      @BeyondHeadwaters  3 роки тому

      Hey JM We have not done any fishing in the Kenansville area. I know a lot of the airboaters will run that direction. You can't get there from over this way you have to trailer your boat over to the Kenansville area to launch. As far as cell signal, yes you can get signal on the lake. Thanks for the comment. Good Fishing!
