    Thank you for sharing your spots, Norm. I have fished all of them and I wholeheartedly agree with what you revealed. Still, I wish we could go back to the days when shiners were not necessary. The bass readily bit lures then, but it is what it is.

    LOL I've been there.......had a very similar experience falling out of the boat. Enjoyed the video.👍

    Hey Norm I know this video is a little older, but how much does a dozen of wild shiners cost down there now? Last time I was down there was in 2016 and if I remember correctly they were 24 or 26 a dozen. Im going to try my best to try and come back down this winter. I love Stick Marsh, last time I fished it was with my Uncle, he passed away a few years ago, I use to come down for a week every year in February. He lived 5 mins from big Toho Marina, the last time I got to fish with him, we fished Stick Marsh and he caught a 12 lb 2 oz monster! He said it was not even in his top 5 biggest! He laced to shiner fish and the bigger the shiner the better! Stay safe out there on and off the water. Semper Fi from an old Marine

      12lb 2 is a MONSTER! Price for two dozen shiners is $53.50 right now. Good luck at Farm 13. It's a great place to fish.

    Great video, Norm. Looked like you used the outboard to get back in the boat. That's the way. I've been close to swimming a couple times myself. Glad you're ok.

      Thanks Dave. I used the power poles and outboard this time to jump in the boat.

    Great video Norm! thanks for the spots, the next time I go will give them a try. I watch the falling in the water video so funny but scary at the same time, boy you need someone with you. God bless you and be careful out there.

    Great vid. I don't use live bait but that blue wake is a? I use alot the 2.5 KVD Natural Shad. The knock is hard and has lots of draw power.

    • @NormGfishing
      @NormGfishing  Рік тому

      The 2.5 KVD is a solid lure. I use the Mega Bass Over Rev Crank. Both will catch fish in the flat at Headwaters.

    Nice video. If it still exists, there's a 25 mph speed limit on Headwaters Lake........to help reduce the risk of boaters crashing at blind intersections.

    Norm, really appreciate this detailed breakdown! I’m local and fish HW every week but almost exclusively with artificial and regularity fish all those spots and just like you showed - I struggle. My buddy talked me into buying a dozen shiners about 6 months ago so we went to the east pump house & even though no water was flowing we caught 10 bass on the 12 shiners but no monsters. One question for you - in that drone shot where we see your boat towards the bottom left of the picture and that canal running from about 7 o’clock to 1 o’clock where is that on HW?

    • @NormGfishing
      @NormGfishing  Рік тому

      That was part of Ditch 13. The shiner bite is better when it is not so hot. Fall and Spring are the best. There are bass along Ditch 13 due to the deeper water. Fish the edges and openings throughout the canal. The only downside is boat traffic so look for openings with less boat traffic or fish during the week to avoid the weekend anglers like myself 😀

      @astrophysicistguy Рік тому

      @@NormGfishing thx! So is the pump house at the end of Ditch 13 toward the bottom of that image or the top? Looks like the top so if correct then your boat is sitting more toward the east end of Ditch 13? Since I’m retired I only fish during the week. Even in the middle of the summer there are too many people for my taste on the weekend … 😬

    Actually mono floats and fluro sinks...

    • @NormGfishing
      @NormGfishing  2 місяці тому

      Yes. But, not enough for shiner fishing. Braid will stay on top of the surface the entire time. Mono will float and sink some which gets caught in the weeds and structure under the water.
