I live in Florida and I fish three day a week and I have to say that you are absolutely spot on. Your video should be required watching for anyone who relocates to Florida and likes to fish for Bass.
As a Florida bass fishing guide, I must say, you have hit the nail on the head. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Best artificial bait tutorial, I’ve seen about Florida bass fishing. Great job.
God bless you man! I've been raised here in south florida for 20 years, bass fishing 15 years I'm 25 and your tips are so accurate 👌 its amazing to watch this! Best florida tip video on UA-cam!!
Okay, Nathan, I wanted to give you props. I did everything you spoke about and caught the most bass I ever have. I've never felt so confident. I wanted to say thank you.
As a florida native two things of note 1 bait you missed was a 10 inch culprit worm in any purplish color absolute must have and also those baitfish thing is only accurate down to southern palm beach county anything south of that there's cichlid, Oscar's, peacock etc so the bait color change
Buzz bait, Jackhammer Chatterbait in black and blue, junebug or grape senko style worms. I like Berkeley gulp in purple or watermelon. Just let them sit. Top water black Choppo or frog. These simple three are what I fish in the panhandle about 95% of the time. When it’s windy, 1/2 ounce white spinner bait with trailer hook. I catch a lot of 3 to 6 lb bass and get the occasional big bite.
I'm 61, and I've never met any man over 75 who says "bro". Never seen "a 118 yr old man", and definitely any senior citizen who watches the youtube channels you're subbed to either.
I'm in broward county, south of Palm Beach, I have never seen a golden shiner or a shad in any small lake or pond. They do definitely eat bluegill, but mostly small tilapia and cichlids. Maybe on the larger lake like Lake O, or Headwaters. But south of Palm beach nope! But love your content 👍🎣
I live in north Florida and fish every week and kinda not in agreement with certain things. Baits spot on. Except square bill crank if u know how to fish it through the hydrilla But cold fronts is some of my best fishing for major bigs. But that’s Florida and everyone finds there own grooves. Deep deep in summer works wonders (15-25 is deep deep in Florida).
Nice presentation. I fished with a guide in December (Dora). We was catching fish on worms dragging the bottom. He then decided to go to another area for 'other' fish. NOTHING. Then he made a profound statement. "Never leave fish to find fish." My buddy landed an 8 pounder that day. Several in the 3-5 lb range were boated.
same here, all my big fish come on trick worm/senko style plastics. they are super smart. You can get some giants on spinning in florid too. I caught my PB on spinning (10lb) while speck fishing and ive been bass casting all my life
Great job explaining and helping with the often angered anglers who can’t catch fish when visiting…my only thing about your video….i almost forgot exactly what state you were talking about. “Sarcasm” Down in Alabama? Or no maybe it was down here Florida… It’s a good thing no one played “buy your buddy a new lure everytime Florida is mentioned,” cause bass pro would’ve been wiped clean 😉😉☺️☺️
I don't know if you've fished Lake Placid FL yet but you should absolutely try. I've caught monster bass on Lake Istokpoga when i stayed on the lake a handful of years ago. My biggest bass came from the lake. Biggest ate a 13 inch shiner.
@@nathanquincefishing7122 I just found you on here but will follow you on Instagram as well. I can send you the spot I caught ALL my biggest bass of my life if ya want.
@@fishingwithz7751 I would love to one day fish that Lake on a boat. The folks I stayed with that lived on a canal of the lake had a fish feeder on its dock so obviously that area was Primetime fishing. And it is easy to catch big fish with live bait so I would definitely love to attempt with lures
According to JT Kenny, a FWC biologist told him that 75% of a Florida bass diet is bluegill. Of the remaining 25, 15% was crawfish. Crawfish are very prolific in waters with vegetation. The remaining 10% is shinners, shad and frogs. At the same time remember we have large he populations of tilapia which bass are getting attuned to eating.
Yep! Not saying they don’t eat crawfish just that they aren’t the majority forage as they only are about 15 percent they spend more time eating other types of fish mostly!
Tanic Tea! That's the perfect analogy. I been fishing Florida for about 15 years now. Never understood the Watermelon colors,, seemed to dark. Thanks. Now I get it. Maybe now that I trust this knowledge I'll do better. I also think Lizards are good, but ultra light and top water. I have seen a few lizards fall off a tree and immediately get snatched up.. Great video.

There is good fishing in cold fronts here in Florida... I fished Florida my whole life. Born and raised here. The trick to catching big bass in Florida in the cold fronts it to slow down and fish deep pockets. Don't tell people they can't catch big fish down here in the winter or during cold fronts because that's just not true. The season best known for charter bass fishing is in the Florida winter time.
Yes. Definitely for a seasoned fisherman. But knowledge is power to those big strikes as you already know. So I hope the info I put in helps those beginner bass fisherman with bigger bites for the Florida cold fronts or our winter months.
This was a phenomenal video and answered so many questions considering I moved to south Florida from PA and it’s currently late July and it’s been so tough
You Guys need to go to lake Champlain smallmouth fishing. I fish Each 3 times a year and Florida’s fish are bigger but fight nothing like a 4 or 5 pound smallmouth.
The absolute easiest way to catch bass is the Wacky worm. While it's not 'covering water' it is very successful at getting bass. I think VMC makes a Neko Weedless hook. It has a 50lb. fluorocarbon weed guards that work in hydrilla. Oh.. Side Scan does work in Florida. It will help find brush piles that hold good bass.
We’re going to the Harris chain next month for 4 weeks. I will put your ideas to work in packing and fishing after watching this a few more times. Thank you for the detailed information that will useful on my first time Florida bass fishing. I hope to PB. What about whopper ploppers or A rigs? Well done!
So I have to laugh. You know your stuff yo. I been fishing this pond down from my house in Fl and I know there are bass in there. I saw a dead baby when I first went there. I been fishing it for a long time and never got bass to bite. I used worms crawdads buzzbaits frogs. Texas rigged Carolina rigged. After watching this I tried my silver lure with the chatter weights in it. I found the one that looked closest to a silver shad. 5 casts caught biggest bass I caught yet since I started fishing again. I knew they were in there. You sir are a Florida bass fishing guru.
All great points. Had to learn all this myself. I also have good luck on green pumpkin ribbon tail worms when it's tough. Texas rig them and drag them through the grass or edges of hydrilla.

The biggest problem I see with folks coming down here to fish is they want to fish Okeechobee or Kissimmee with expectations of every flip setting the hook on a double digit.been fishing for Florida bass my whole life, been blessed to have landed 5 over 10lbs, not one of those fish were caught in one of the big lakes, small private, unmanaged retention ponds, that developers dug to make roads.its these places that hold the true giants, not over crowded, over fished over hyped water
I would like to your video setup, I have Sony A7 III and tripods. Do you secure the tripod? I am a retired IT Analyst that loves fishing, photography and video. Best Regards, HOOK’EM HOODMAN
Live in Fl, but just starting out with my help from my fishing vet buddy. Great video. It's so hot right now so I'll just consider this practice until December. Actually caught my first largemouth only hours after getting license a few days ago. Any tips for lake fishing during these dog days would be appreciated.
You can 100% catch bass in the summer time here in Florida but you need to be out there at first light these fish want to be in deeper water and so find grass in deeper water and remember you could make 2 perfect casts and not get a bite. That third throw in could put your bait exactly how they want it and trigger a bite. Just because you don't get bit on the initial couple throws doesn't mean there isn't a fish down there willing to bite
hey man I really enjoy your videos, but I think it would be nice to see you make a video of you just going out and fishing with no editing and maybe talk us through your thought process.

Absolutely true!
I would like to your video setup, I have Sony A7 III and tripods. Do you secure the tripod? I am a retired IT Analyst that loves fishing, photography and video.
Best Regards,
HOOK’EM HOODMAN
I have a canon m50 and a tripod and I ratchet strap it on my back deck
Live in Fl, but just starting out with my help from my fishing vet buddy. Great video. It's so hot right now so I'll just consider this practice until December. Actually caught my first largemouth only hours after getting license a few days ago. Any tips for lake fishing during these dog days would be appreciated.
Awesome good luck and keep catching them!
Dang. I'm prolly never going to Florida. At least you got a comment from me. lol
Thanks! Can still learn something from it!
Great video!!!!
Thanks!
hey man I really enjoy your videos, but I think it would be nice to see you make a video of you just going out and fishing with no editing and maybe talk us through your thought process.
I absolutely can add this to the list! Unfortunately we are approaching winter but in the spring
