The Kabin is coming along very nicely! You should be getting a huge subscriber boost with this subject (tiny house/cabin) ... looks like you'll be hitting 200k SOOOOOON. I'm happy for you ... that's one heck of a milestone on youtube. God bless
More siding and the bathroom window and door cut out! Excellent! Oops, got the ladder a little. Thanks for showing the making of the rafters. I like the gusset plates. Nice finishing of the gable ends. It does look great with the rafters up! Paint next! Thanks for this video Ken!
I have watched each episode as you have made them. Very rewarding to take each step with you. I am building a “best barns camp Reynolds “ 20x32 2 level shed starting at the end of June with my 16 year old son. It’s nice to get little tips along the way. You are a great builder and mentor/instructor. That is a precious combination. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us all.
I like this project, I made a tiny home in Hawaii a few years ago and used an old 26 ft semi trailer bed and axels for the deck. I build mine 12 foot wide, canted the width out a few feet for maximum width, and did the same on the length. made it 30 ft. it can go down the road, but only with permit..
fab would be easier with 2 people, jigs would make it easier still, and lastly you could insulate, wrap and apply siding on the jig too which would save time and labor - prefab/modular is the way to go since then you also have some flexibility in design
❤ Happy Memorial Day Weekend 🤩🇺🇸⭐✨🙏🙌🌻🌟🎆Love your Video doing your Tiny Home 👍 Looking Good, like the Windows,Door,Roof👍 Can't wait for next Adventure 🤩🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎆🌻🙌🙏✨⭐ 9 Ft hogh a little room for loft, storages 👍🤩
I loved watching your garage builds but these smaller projects are also fun and enjoyable to watch. I shared with my nephew who built one with his brother in law.
Looking good. Please get some help for the windows and door. I know you’ve built quite a few things alone, but I’m worried about your safety with that big heavy picture window.
Ken I Miss your garage builds, but as I'm retired too totally understand. One question is in my mind having grown up in a house before pneumatic nailers I've noticed that with the revolution in battery and air driven tools a number of fasteners has increased dramatically. Is there a new standard has been published on the number of nails and other fasteners used in modern construction?
looking great, Ken. Are you going to add any mid-height bracing to the walls? I know the roof will stiffen the structure but I always brace my framing, especially on something like this that will be moved.
you may want to put 1 or 2 header or a brace in middle of top of wall to keep the side wall from swaying in and out and maybe put a shelf on braces to appear for another use but basically to keep the middle of the walls from bowing out and strengthen your roof structure
The build is really coming along very nicely! I think the chickens were hoping for a photo op at the end of the video so they could strut their stuff a bit. Or at least I was hoping to get another peek😆😆 . Thanks for taking us along Ken. 😁
Watching you put those trusses up the only thing that came to mind was "Why isn't he using a short scaffold?" Easier to move and it isn't like you are doing a second story. There are some really lightweight aluminum ones available. Perhaps a pair of stilts would be more to your liking?
Decoration Day Memorial Day. GOD BLESS YOU. HOME SWEET TINY HOME. COMING ALONG FAST LOOKS GREAT KEN. YOU ALWAYS DO AN EXCELLENT JOB. COOLER TODAY 65 WAS 85 YESTERDAY THEN MID DAY 65, 🌧 BURR SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
HEY KIN REALLY ENJOY THE VIDEOS ,YOU ARE A GREAT CRAFTMAN, WATCHING YOU BUILD THE TINY HOUSE WHICH IS GREAT BUT CAN HARDILY HEAR YOU YOU HAVE A SOFT VOICE AND IAM OLDER THAN YOU AND WANT TO HEAR WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. THANKS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK THE OLD MAN.
@kenskarpentry If you need a project idea, I had made a Octogon picnicking table out of 2x6x10 PT and 2x6x8 Fir with 4x6 PT for the legs, I will send you the leg template if you want. Takecare, Frank B.
Hi Ken, I don’t recall if you ever mentioned whether you do your own uploads or editing. Really awesome editing especially @1:03. I love how the build is coming along. Beautiful job.
Happy Memorial day my friend,,looking good ,wish you would change that widow making ladder, out for something more sturdy...green ladder tend to collapse or walk a way ...🐊🌴😎
Ken don’t you think with the ladder work you should have someone with you thirty years ago my ladder fell with me on top about six feet and have been semidisbled from this
Ken, love what you're doing in retirement. I'm a few years older and enjoy all your projects. But I have to ask you a question. Why did you cut out one of the top plates in your door opening/
hear me out still thinking about Kens hot dog hut or Kens doghouse park right downtown by train track i know this one is sold but future plan ripper for me please see you next one
LOL after all these year since This TINY HOUSE thing began , I still do 't u derstand whya yone in their mind would want one. Tiny homes have to be a nightmare towing down the Highway. Wouldnt it be better just buying a RV trailer, Even though I dont agree with them I love watching KEN
I think the main reason is that you can build what you want. A second reason is you can remove it from the trailer and have a cabin, which will add value to a property. Such is not the case with an RV.
@@rupe53 I agree. the garage was built in the 30's with planks. If I rebuild it. it has to be the same size. otherwise, it would need to move away from the adjacent property line
@@kevinlowe5109 ok, I see the dilemma. Of course, this presumes the slab is ok and you will be using that again too. If not, then I would apply to your local zoning board to bring it up present code and ask for a hardship on that relocation because of just one foot. Also, check with the neighbors and see if they have any issues. It helps quite a bit with zoning changes.
So can we all agree that the world would be a more pleasant place, with a few less Karen's and a lot more Ken's?😊
Haha thanks
Here here.
Agreed!!

The progress is easy to see with the sheathing in place. Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It is getting closer to when Chad and Dan help with the windows.
Yes definitely
I literally yelled out loud to you to watch out for the ladder. 🤣🤣
Haha

Marvelous to see the pitch of the first truss line up perfectly with the pitch of your garage roof behind it. Craftsmanship!
Cool thanks
Moving right along. God bless.

Thanks I’ll keep that in mind
I think you should have put a z- strip in between your exterior sheeting
That will seal great with the silicone and you won’t see that metal line
Coming along fantastic
Thanks
Looks good! God bless!
Thank you! You too!
Honestly I have learned so much from this channel.. keep up the good work !!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
nice Ken the sky is the limit you look more comfortable with building now not so many changes going on in your head lol have a great week

Awsome build Ken. Thx for sharing bud🎉🎉
You bet. Thanks
Hello ken! This is just an idea! But for wind purposes would it be an good idea of hurricane hangers between walls and roof trusses? Hey its Gooding 👍
Yes definitely
Maybe even a way to tie it down.
Pretty cool. Same exact pitch/slope as your existing garage. @10:40.
Haha yes
I think you should have planned and installed the plumbing earlier. I think it would have been easier. I do enjoy your builds
Thanks there will be very little plumbing below the floor with easy access
It's looking good, Ken.
Thanks
Hi Ken. Another excellent video that tiny house will look wonderful & i do like the speed you work.

Haha thanks for watching
I helped your Al Gore Rhythm!
Haha. Thanks
Nice Ken
Thanks
Great job
Thanks
Looking good
Thanks I appreciate it
Do you think building a tiny home or office that could be slid into a garage would sale? Could even do a double wide.
I don’t know possibly
Nice
Thanks
Looking good Ken. What is going to keep the center from spreading?
he usually adds collar ties. Not sure what the plan is here.
With the plywood gussets that will prevent spreading
Good job 👏 👍
Thank you 👍
Lookin good!
Thanks
Saw where someone has already bought it. What happened to retirement? And what's next after this build.
Yes. Well I’ve slowed down and enjoying the moment now.
Ken, love what you're doing in retirement. I'm a few years older and enjoy all your projects. But I have to ask you a question. Why did you cut out one of the top plates in your door opening/
I needed the height for the door
@@kenskarpentry Thanks Ken.
Now that you have a cute camper maybe give it a test run ??
Right I’m planning on it in a while
hear me out still thinking about Kens hot dog hut or Kens doghouse park right downtown by train track i know this one is sold but future plan ripper for me please see you next one

nice ty
i am getting ready builed a tiny home myself
Oh nice
I like that house
Thanks
What is the product you used for exterior sheeting?
Lp smart sheathing
I like your videos
Thanks
Ken, love your videos, I have a question if you don't mind answering it for me. your best Esternent the cost of a 19x20 Garage if I did it myself.
Just curious why 19x20? Normally the outside dimensions are done in full sheets of material. (5 sheets = 20 ft)
Around $20k. 20x20 might be more efficient use of materials

Whoever pulls it needs to keep i in mind the height wen going under underpasses and bridges ,signage at drive thrus an such
Yes definitely
A large print sticker with the clearance height can be affixed to the drivers visor as a reminder when approaching bridges, etc.
Good day to all.
And to you
👍👍
You know you don’t look very retired!
Haha. Easy does it
What will this building be used for?
Overflow family on their property
Good job but where is the bed gonna be
Coming soon
❤👍👍👍👍❤
Thanks
I forget, so why did you retire ?
Haha to slow down
