My boyfriend took ages to say he loved me, we've been together for 10 years and I can't think of life without him, but in our case it was a cultural thing: he's British and I`m Brazilian and for me it's always much easier to express my feelings ( good and bad mind you) but for him it's just so hard, but every time he says he loves me I know it's a 100% genuine and I just love him the way he is and I couldn't have asked life for a better partner...

Some of his road trips and excursions have blown me away..... I'm the older one in our relationship....and I tend to express my love and adoration for him verbally, and sexually. My BF is Chinese and I'm an American guy..so we have TWO languages to navigate and express ourselves with. (yes, I speak Chinese). I feel like Im with you so clearly I love you but I know people can't read my mind and know exactly how I feel or what Im thinking so I try to make some extra effort to tell them from time to time.

I used to feel bad for not being outwardly emotional and things of that nature, but that's who I am, and it's not something that is easy for me to change, or you. The great thing about being with people is that they can be different from you and you can learn each other. If your inner circle isn't aware of how you go about things, let them know, if they are, then ask that they be patient or try to understand your way of doing things. If you still feel bad, try to meet them half-way, but don't be insincere or force the issue.
They definitely know by now that's for sure lol. This is one of many ways we may demonstrate our love for one another, though it is nice to hear those words every once in a while.

I honestly don't think I would know what love is if I ever met someone. I've become so used to being single and doing everything alone, that if someone accepted a date with me (I've asked hundreds, been almost 14 yrs) I don't know honestly how I would handle affection.
Don't give up! I'm 53 and thought I would never find anyone. I found him 3 years ago and we are happy. I will say he isn't the looks type that I was attracted to most of my life. I came to the realization that the type of guy I'm extremely physically attracted to will never ever be attracted to me. Blunt fact of nature. That said at some point actual love trumps being alone . companionship is good for your mental health. Best of luck! Don't give up!
