I’ve been following your excellent advise and keeping watch on my monstera’s roots. I’ve started using transparent nursing pots! These are fantastic for watching root development. I can see the beautiful root ball and know when it’s time to repot. Thanks for the great advise 💚

My mom doesnt get This and always is telling me i need to upgrade my plants pots and i try and tell her theyll die “but in the outside natural world they have all the space they could want!” Maybe ill show her the video maybe shell listen to you
That's a pretty common argument.
Tell her, outside there are lots of things in the soil aerating the roots to keep them alive. Everything from insects, decomposers, and micro bacteria.
In your potted plant there is none of that, (and generally a low amount of good bacteria).
If that doesn't work, just tell her outside is magic.

A few weeks ago my mom bought a gorgeous Amazon lily (Urceolina x grandiflora) in a 13' pot. Turned out the owners almost never had emptied the outer pot, the soil was crazy compacted, and for some reason they had put the bulbs several inches deep into soil... Changed the soil, treated the remaining roots, downsized the pot significantly. Hope that's gonna be enough

No matter where you live, please take my advice: don't ever take Monstera outside the house. Climate changes have started to be so sudden and unpredictable that a single rain with wind can destroy all the effort you invested in Monstera. It destroyed all the beautiful leaves of my Monstera, the rain and the wind simply whipped them.

Hi Lee, my monstera leaf got this strange yellowing. Do you know why?
I need help too! I’ve been trying to get my monstera cuttings to recover after the whole stem has a fungal infection and I had to trash the whole root and cut them into separate leaves to state over. I had 6 cuttings and now I’m down to 4 with one yellow and all are in water. Yep aren’t bringing out roots at all but the leaves are still green. The one root coming out since this week is brown not white and it’s stressing me out! HELP!!

I just got a alocasia zebrina off amazon and i have no idea what to do with it. I've been watching videos on here and i am still very confused. I have ordered perlite, leca, pond, sphagnum moss, orchid mix and two other potting soil mixtures. I have not repotted it because i can not decide which combination would be best. I am also propagating a monstera in water, moss and one in leca and perlite. This is experimental ive had my monstera for about 3yrs now and although it is growing it never got big and full so i decided to chop it down into cuttings and start over.
Would you discuss how to identify large form vs. small form when immature? I have 2 small form, bosigiana, and would like a large form.
I want to, it will take me a long time to make a video up to my standards but I'm working on it!

Hi what strength peroxide did you use what ratio and what does this do for the roots please
6 parts water, 1 part peroxide. It kills bacteria

I have a question though, so i recently took out my Monstera to repot and found i had like 3 separate plants in one pot, then separated them. Do you prefer multiple plants of the same plant in one pot? Are there benefits and disadvantages of that? 🤔
The things that keep me up at night
Personally I think 2-3 plants in a pot looks best. It's all personal preference and what type of look you're going for. Full jungle, or minimalist statement

Heyy. I just moved countries. So i had to restart with my plants. Back in Texas (where i used to live) I only had cactus and succulents, pretty easy to grow. Especially in Texas. But I just moved here to Australia and saw this sad monstera for only $10. Im pretty nervous bc I’ve never grown a plant like monstera before. Only succulents and cactus. Any advice. Bc im stressing.
I have a beloved monstrea albo that I named Herman :) Herman's bottom leaves are "burnt" from when I didnt know what I was doing, however all the new growth from the past 6 months is perfect!
How do I address Herman's ugly leaves? I don't wanna cut him all the way down, so idk what to do

I have been trying to help mine grow for years - every time it gets to a certain stage the leaves start dying and I have to propagate the ends and start over :((
I would just recommend my exact same tips for the deliciosa. However they do tend to be a bit more sensitive to uneven watering. So frequent check ins and an airy soil are more important.
Are the aerial roots on the monstera suppose to be fuzzy???I've only seen the brown fuzz on two of my aerial roots that are now growing together.
It depends on what your humidity is like and what the root is touching. It could be growing root hairs and look "fuzzy"

I repotted my deliciosa about 2 months ago and i changed the soil and its been growing very well but the fenestrations went from 11 to 7 to 1 to 0 with each new leaf. the fenestrations were going so well before 😭😭 please help
It's either not getting enough light or it is not climbing a stable support pole.
sooo what if the monstera was my first plant after a break up in 2021 and I put him in a big pot and now Im scared to move him to a small pot because I may mess up his roots :( Now I know better, and he's still growing (?) but just small leaves, no big leaves :(

I have reached the point where I cannot find a bigger pot that fits in the colour theme of the room. The monstera is still growing new leaves. Does this mean I still have plenty of time before repotting?
You technically don't have to report for several years if you're watering and fertilizing effectively.
Also taking a top cutting and restarting is something you'll have to do eventually.
Two questions: you use a cedar plank for your monstera plants, but I read on a few websites that cedar wood acidifies the soil, which is not good at all for monsteras. Any truth in this? Question #2) what is the soil you recommend for monsteras? do you have a recipe, or a specific brand? Thanks in advance!
I haven't tested my soil but tap water is pretty neural to basic and Aroids like acidic pH of 6-6.5 so maybe it balances itself out?
At any rate I haven't noticed any issues.

Do you mean your plant is putting out new leaves, but the old ones stay the same size?
Monstera’s don’t like draughty areas keep it sheltered from strong wind, if your lucky & have a fish tank use that water on all your plants every time you clean the fish tank It will reward you a thousand times in growth I’ve had my monstera plant for 37years, it’s so very beautiful with lush dark green leaves.

Generally 6 parts water to 1 part hydrogen peroxide (3%)
