I have done this. My mother in law had 3 large monsteras, she had them for 35 years. But they got thrown outside and forgotten for a decade. No water and not a lot of sun. I found them and they looked like yours but I brought them all back to life and they're huge! I took node cuttings from all 3 and made a bunch more propagations from those. First plant youtuber that’s actually explained what nodes are so I know what to look out for. My monstera a a cutting from a plant at work that’s old enough to flower/fruit. I have a very sad but formerly very LARGE Monstera with only one mostly green leaf that I repotted, but it has just been wilting. I am so emotionally attached to this plant and you gave me hope and proof that it can be saved, so thank you 😭 I’m sad it basically has to start over when this thing, when I got it, was 4 feet tall with leaves with double fenestrations, and it’s gonna be years until it can get back to that point, but I hope I can maintain care of it for that long because it will be so rewarding to see it grow 🥹 I have severe ADHD and depression which led to neglect, but the plant never gave up on me, so I’m not giving up on it. It was attempting to put out new leaves the whole year that I’ve had it (and mistreated it) and I’m just so happy it gets another chance.
Had a dying monstera deliciosa. Tossed it inside one of my mini ponds and it's rooting like crazy. Started with 2 plants cramed into a pot and separated them, had a piece dying off from the bigger plant so I cut it off and just shoved it into my mini pond with my tri-colour swordtails, now I have 3 😁, also have a marble queen pothos stem just floating in there finally growing some leaves.
I just saw a handful of videos with people using paper scissors lol. You’re the first one I’ve seen use a proper tool to make your cuttings. Razor blades work perfectly

You have given me hope! I have an old woody thai constellation single node that started sprouting before stopping abruptly and i discovered that sadly all the original roots have rotted. I cut them all off and decided to leave it in a ziplock back with some sphagnum moss. A month later the growth restarted! no roots yet and one woody end is getting a bit black, so im spraying iwth some hydrogen peroxide solution and hoping it will pull through.

Great video - one thing i dont understand is what is the value of a clean cut? I get that the razorblade does a great job at creating a clean lasting cut but why do we value this?
It decreases surface area, allowing it to heal faster and preventing disease spread. Imagine if you cut your hand with a very clean, surgical cut. Then imagine if you shredded and crushed your flesh while cutting with a dull pair of scissors. Which would heal faster?

I have been experimenting on some props myself and I find it so exciting to see new growth! I have a couple of monsters algo cuttings with a single leaf that I have been propagating for a little bit over a month and some change, One cutting rooted beautifully early on and I have two pushing out new growth but no roots. I'm a. I'm worried they about them getting rot before they grow roots. Do you have any tips or care for those two? Thanks!!
Well heck…I just ordered a single node albo cutting and suddenly UA-cam brings me here. Big Brother is watching lol, but thank you for this great video!
I just love your channel! I love to propagate so we are on the same wave length! You inspired me to get my box cutter out!!!😂 look out monstera, here I come!
I had a stem cutting of a Phil. Rugosum and it took one year and two months to do anything. I was so dang proud to make this little nub work and actually start to activate its eye.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you make all those plants from that one long piece of plant. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too
If you don't want to wait to callous fresh cuts but you also struggle with mold and rot, get yourself some horticultural dusting sulfur. It's sold as antifungal plant product. :) Immediately brush the fresh cuts with the powder so it's evenly covered or dip the ends into a pile of powder. Let it dry for a few seconds and then brush or tap off the excess. Voila. The cut is sealed with a substance that won't harm the plant at all and will kill any mold trying to grow into the cutting from the ends. :) I always dust my cacti cut wounds with sulfur. Always.
Oh this video is what I have been searching. Thanks for giving me so much confidence to not give upon my plants. I keep on killing my monstera deliciosa plants ( becoz of root rot). I bought my fourth monstera and it got root rot too 😫. But I'm not giving up on it, and i also have cuttings saved from my third monstera plant. I really want them to survive.
The views are really not doing justice to the work you put into this video over months - super impressed and honestly annoyed I DON’T have a monstera in my collection… They are hard to kill and easy to propagate, clearly!

Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
Amazing to see it grow over years!!! Such a great video!
Thanks for watching!
Great video man. I don’t mind these long videos at all.
Good to hear this was much longer than usual!
Amazing Demonstration.love it
I'm so glad I found you and this experiment your doing! It has answered some questions I had and it was interesting to watch the stages at which you checked them.
Thanks!!
Have no fear once the new growth gets bigger it will root from the new nodes. Even if old node rots it won't affect the new growth
Well heck…I just ordered a single node albo cutting and suddenly UA-cam brings me here. Big Brother is watching lol, but thank you for this great video!
Good luck with your node!!
This is such an informative video! Just what I was looking for. Thank you so much!!! ❤
Am in Uganda ,I love your passion
I'm glad I found this useful video! Thank you very much!
Enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you for watching!
Always.
Never give up is the best advice.....
Bro thank you for that dedication! Video gave me the courage to start propping. Love that shirt too!
Good luck
@@TechplantChannel the cuttings get rot even after sprouting
How many hours a day did you keep the grow lights on?
The views are really not doing justice to the work you put into this video over months - super impressed and honestly annoyed I DON’T have a monstera in my collection… They are hard to kill and easy to propagate, clearly!
You gotta get one! They are easily in my top 10 easy yet rewarding plants too have
Thank you fot the details.
No problem!
I absolutely love your videos, as always!
Thanks!
Really cool
Thanks for watching
