This show attraction is really great. Had a lot of fun on it. A marvelous piece of technology and story telling.

They didn't change the show recently and haven't since very shortly after Islands of Adventure opened in 1999. This was a behind-the-scenes promotional video filmed before Islands of Adventure opened and the version showed was very short lived. Due to feedback from patrons, they changed Zeus to a generic tour guide, made Poseidon the protagonist and replaced evil Poseidon with "Lord Darkanon" which was an original antagonist with no actual ties to greek mythology. Also, all the CGI was replaced with live action. I wouldn't call the current version the "new" version since it has been exactly the same for almost 15 years and pretty much nobody saw or remembers the "old" version.
I love the whole idea behind this show, the exterior, the queue. It has a really adventurous feel to it and I like that it's not based on any current day property but on ancient mythology.
Everything about this original version seems better, and more contemporary. Everything in the current version sounds and looks like it was done in the 1970s. Very cheesy. Sometimes it's just best to stick with the original.
Never miss this one while visiting U.S.! Love everything about it. Great timeless must do that never fails to thrill! Great job to all involved.
Dang I wanted to see more behind the scenes of the drop wall. I hope somehow someway the workings of this ride can be documented before it is all gone

It was a girl in my case, and I liked her very much... Very nerdy and cute!
Well, Tylor is the name of the character. So basically everybody gets Taylor - either a girl or a man.

I love this show! I haven't been in 6 years (!) but I have fond memories of it. I must say, I am actually relieved they didn't reveal how you are transported back to the beginning again, that would have ruined the magic for me!

at the end there is a walls that drop down, when u first walk into the final chamber for the battle scene look up straight up and u'll see the walls are up there
@coasterollie No. Harry Potter only took over Merlinwood, the Medieval section of the island with Dueling Dragons and the Flying Unicorn. The Arabian section and the Greek section still remain.
I prefer the current version, but it's cool to see this ride at a time when the effects worked
@dannycool321 the room is a box without a floor. the four walls and ceiling are lifted into the roof of the bigger room at the start of the scene and during the fog are lifted back down
This is the part that I can’t understand while the show is on you can’t even notice the walls neither the room that’s on top of us before it disappeared
Because the ceiling is a huge grid, an intersection of beams with square holes in it, that fits into square boxes when lifted in the air up on the roof ceiling. I clearly noticed it. And the walls are simply raised at the end, being hidden down and around the platform.
Does anyone know the name of the woman hosting this segment? She is like the female version of Joe Rohde.

Its really different now. now its Poseidon against some fire god or sometihng. and at the beginning there is no Poseidon there is a tour guide man.

Not sure why they changed it as I went in 2001 and it was the newer show. Maybe the Anti-Posideon Defemation League got involved.
last time i went like 4 years ago there was the water tunnel and it was so cool why do theme parks always change the best rides?

It was. As of today, it's Closed.
The show has been changed several times over the years because of generally poor customer reviews. The themeing of the outside of the temple is fantastic, but the show itself is not that great, except for the water tunnel effect which is superb

2021: It's closed, probably permanently. I'm sure the area will be absorbed by Hogsmeade.

too bad this has closed permanently, never got to see it. the whole area is a walkthrough, hopefully they'll change it into something with attractions. i don't count the mystic fountain as much of an attraction, not worth keeping the theming of a whole area for

The old storyline seemed very cheesy. Personally, I think the current one (although it still has the characteristics of some fantasy-loving fanboy) a lot more. Too bad the water vortex is no longer operating, however.

The original show was so much better than the current one. Another case of them ruining a wonderful show.
2021: It's closed, probably for good. I believe if they had removed human actors, it could have succeeded. This was corny like Jungle Cruise, without trying to be funny.
They should use the inner chamber of this ride to build the chamber of secrets and expand Harry Potter world.
Hell no...no more Potter. You have enough.

how many fake safety orientation stickers could that woman put on that hard hat? For real half of them were brands of tools. THey just used you as a head piece, not a real master of your trade.
