The discrepancy between how this ride looks lights on and how it feels lights off could not be greater. It’s surprisingly intense.
I like how you worded that, I could actually sense what you meant.
The Florida version is the same way. One year at Halloween Horror Nights they had a house on the floor of the attraction that meandered among the supports and track. It was wild to see just how NOT wild the layout really is.
When I went on the ride it felt like it inverted so many times
Girl stop lying this ride is anything but intense
I didn't know it was a coaster so when that part started I was so scared, like noo my sister fooled me again 😭
Amazing how you can turn a kiddie coaster into a high intensity thrill ride with just a dark room and some flashing lights.
Florida is definitely superior though and has a pop of airtime on the hill after the first launch.
This one is California I believe, definitely not Florida in any case.
@@teddym2808 its not in usa Its Universal Studios Singapore, its far far away from florida and california
@@sebastianthegamersebas891 Wow did you manage to work all that out by yourself you condescending git? Where in the video does it say it's in Singapore and how was I supposed to know since I haven't been to that Universal theme park? The layout is vastly inferior to the Florida one, so if it's not the LA version then it's at least very close to it. Funnily enough, I did already know that Singapore was its own country thousand of miles away from the US. Imagine that.
@@sebastianthegamersebas891 this is Hollywood’s Vera
Some other guy said that it's slowed down for architecture/engineering students. The real one is 60 MPH this looks much slower.
Its comforting to know how close you are to the ground at all times
Yeah
@Sean Maloney are you sure it was going to you cart because on rides there are block brakes.
@Sean Maloney The ride system has enough failsafes where there's never been any collisions on either of implementation of these rides. They operate 365 days a year. Feel free to stay out of line.
@@bryancurdi451 if he had even gotten stuck the lights would have been turned on, dude probably got spooked by normal operation of the ride.
I always thought you like 20 feet in the air
You realize how slow it goes but when it’s dark it feels like you’re going faster
they actually durn the nights on so that engineering/architecture students can study how the ride is made! they slow it down a lot too, it goes 60 mph at normal speed but this is probably way less
Orlando is where. You need to go way better
@@abbyhuss7625 I thought it went 40-45 mph?
@@jasrodie5381 Yup. That one is scarier and better effects.
A quick google search will show you that USH version top speed is 40mph......not 60...

@@parisjohnson801 yeah but it was a bunch of dips when I went

Yeah wtf. It looks so slow here. Lmao but when its dark OMG!!!!!!!
Egyptian hell
Orlando is sooo much better. I love roller coasters but tbh revenge of the mummy is on the slower side of the sipped scale. It’s still one of my favs tho.
ITS SCARY NO MATTER WHAT-
This brought back memories! I remember working this ride when it 1st opened and you could hear launch and final show through the breakroom walls so you'd constantly hear "NOW YOUR SOULS BELONG TO ME!....FOREVER!" then 45 seconds later you'd hear "NOoOoOoOOoOooOoOoO!!!!!!!" all while eating lunch 🤣
Best ride ever. I wish I could work here as well 🤣 when did it first open?
@@TY-gj6fb summer 2004. Can't remember the exact date but I started in June of that year and it opened shortly after that. We would ride this with the lights on sometimes after closing which was pretty cool.
@@lanceuppercut9715 thats so cool! my little cousin wishes to ride it with the lights on hahaha. i always come back to universal mostly for this ride
Yep. That's still how it is now. In this order you hear "...you're souls ARE MINE," screaming, brakes, intense music as the cars turn around on the turn table, "NOOOOO," and triumphant music. Just about every 20 seconds or so.
😂😂😂 LMAO
I was convinced at one point I went upside down. The tricks that lights and sounds can do to the human mind
not orlando this is hollywood.
I thought so too! this video helped with that argument me and thee bestie had about us allegedly "going upside down" hahahaa I really thought we did tho
Still one of my top 10 "Story Telling" coasters. From entrance to queue to onboard and ride itself (gift shop counts too) it is expertly done.

Yeah I cried on it this one looks more boring

But I never went to the Orlando one
@@raahmakhan2087 yeah wen the Orlando one goes backwards it goes like pretty steep and larger drop backwards
SanrioHub nah you ain’t lying that shit was intense . my heart was racing at the end of it . I was always scared of the ride as a kid but then I tried it as a adult . 22 and I was right to be scared of it that was intense had I tried it when I was small I would came out crying 😂😂
The darkness really makes this coaster a hit. Good to see it with the lights on.
So it's literally like the "haunted houses" that we go to on Halloween, but with a rollercoaster inside? The effect of the dark to light comparison is crazy! It makes absolute sense though and makes me appreciate Universal Studios even more! Well done! ✅☺️
The Singapore Universal Studios version of this ride is the best one, in my opinion. Longer and scarier than the US versions, a really well thought out ride.
1:21 *I'll be honest I never knew they used artificial screams... I always thought it was just people who hated bugs....*
I love this ride! What a difference darkness makes.
We should get on that ride together and hold hands if we get scared lol 😂
The one in Orlando so much more thrilling
It's A LOOOOT better than Space Mountain. Still my favorite ride at Universal Orlando
@@largol33t1 personally the hyperspace mountain in paris is great its got a loop
Yes I was confused because there are a couple of hills/drops at the one at universal
@@largol33t1 What was the point in comparing it to Space Mountain lol? Both literally have completely different and unrelated theming. Plus both rides are supposed to appeal to completely different audiences.
Why do people keep comparing Universal to Disney and vice versa. The two parks are amazing in their own ways and appeal to different audiences.
The one in Hollywood I think it has a floor drop
Dude I thought I was high above the ground on that damn ride
3 years ago i went on the ride and right where the mummy talks to you in the screen the whole attraction stopped working and we were stranded for 10minutes locked in our seats, then they made us leave the cars and we walked through the structures of the ride to be able to leave
That's called an "evacuation". Theme Park fans consider this lucky if you get to experience this.
@@Lil_Angry_Bitch yup that happened to me in the studio tour it made my day caues it’s was a once and a lifetime thing

THE BUGS U CAN LITERALLY FEEL THEM😦😟
I went in this ride yesterday and I loved it! Just to tell you guys the shoot off is INSANE it’s so fast! But so much fun.
it’s actually really slow it’s just the g force that makes it seem fast 3.5g’s on a ride that goes 45mp is pretty good
@@et3rnalw0rldl68 does it go up to 3.5 G’s??
Crazy how the dark messes with our experience. Its so intense and seems much longer somehow. With lights it looks so boring and slow haha weird but one of my favourites with the whole animatronics and decoration!
It's longer than the video though. The video is only about half the time.
idk how the hell my organs felt like they were flying everywhere on this ride, the way this ride looks and the way it feels is so different💀
It used to be a walk through before it became a ride. It had more stuff when it was a walk though type of attraction and it had props from the movie and it also had drawing of The Mummy cartoon series.
Omg so I wasn’t imagining this. I was a smoll kid when my parents took me to universal studios and I remember entering “The Mummy” and it was a walk through, my dad carried me the whole time and I just remember ending up crying from being scared and burying my face in his shoulder and feeling like it took forever to get outta there hahaha!

Very interesting! Seeing that it doesn't go that high since it's not in a tall building, I thought this ride wouldn't be that scary, but it actually was scary to me and the other riders I was with. The lights were off when I went on during my 1st visit to Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 22nd 2023.
Before the ride, universal had the “mummy maze”… like a walkthrough haunted house with actors who would jump out and scare guests. Whenever I worked that attraction, I was always in the 2nd floor/elevator exit position. We had to have a staff member there, cause one of the actors, my friend dave, would jump out and startle guests dressed in a mummy themed costume… but he was only about 3 feet tall, so my job was to make sure nobody kicked him when startled. It happened a lot. Glad they changed the attraction.
When i went on it I felt like it was going as fast as the velocicoster
it’s because it has 3.5g’s so that’s what makes it seem fast
in the dark it is so scary i almost had a heart attack😭
For real bruh I went on it today and thought I was going 90 mph, like wtf am I a loser this looks so slow 😭😭
My cousin told me a older lady went on this ride and she had a heart attack and people got free passes 😭💀
As someone who's terrified of roller coasters and rode this I can't believe how fast it felt like I was going compared to this video
had my hands up expecting us to go up but we took off, caught me off guard but had my hands up the whole time ! best ride ever
We absolutely loved this ride!
This is very nostalgic
In 2009 I rode this 20 times in one day. It was a really slow day and I had skip the line passes. The scarabs freaked me out every time
i will never forget the first time i went on this and i didnt know it would go right into the launch. im so used to stopping before a launch that it took me really off-guard
What a nostalgic :,) , now i see the real road
I will literally ride this 100x not afraid but thinking about going on Jurassic scares the 💩 outta me

This is funny I was just like I don't remember this but then I realized this is not Florida it can't be it was way too short
One of my favourite rides. Feels very different in the dark!
I loved it... You're on the cusp of Ancient Egyptian to just being Egyptian. If it was dark leaving the mind to wonder would have been better. An excellent ride.
I love the smell of this ride inside and the freshness of the air when is summer time lol
some people might call you weird but I know exactly what you mean
It's refreshing but then as soon as you go outside of the ride it's hot as hell
This is the first time I ever saw this ride with lights on.
I hate roller coasters and have a fear of puke but DUDE I rode this with a friend and right after I went on the single rider line three more times. So worth it
I remember the first time I ride this in Universal Studio Singapore, it was AMAZING! I ended up riding it again and again. It was my first ever experience on backwards roller coaster and I was beyond shock and excited that time! I would love to ride it again sometimes.
I took this ride. The ride going backwards was absolutely unexpected and the rest was just fun and history.... and scary 😂😂
Amazing is how slow the ride actually goes when you see it with the lights on. Good video.
i cried over this sh*t when i was 8- years later i love this ride; it feels like you go so fast in circles
I remember me and my family went to Universal Studios back in like 2012. Me and my oldest son decided to get on this ride because we liked the Mummy movies. Now, he had never, ever been on a ride of any kind in his life at this time. I think he was about 11, 12. We had no idea what this ride was. But when we shot forward and then went backwards, my son screamed from end to end and he did not get on another ride for the rest of the trip 😂
💀 I felt like i was going to pass out it sure felt super fast 🤣
Love this ride!
holy shit, i JUST went to universal studios today for my final 8th grade field trip. i didnt know that you had to go through this. it was a fun ride too!
I once got stuck in this ride in the fire room, it broke down or something and we were just sitting in there sweating
It felt so much faster in the dark 😂
Because it was dark it was so unexpected😭All I know is that the fire thing scared the heck out of me and the fact that you could actually feel the real heat😭😭
“The eclipse…. NOOOOOOOOOO!”
😂😂
Just to clear things up this is a test run they slow it down incase.. injury/death if you’re wondering why it looks so slow but the ride felt so fast that’s why
Guys should I ride it ? I’m really scared and I’m currently really scared . I rode gringotts and I LOVE it but my family says this one is a bit faster ... so should I ride it ?

It's the same layout as Orl, but the mid ride scene is different.
I rode this ride with my friends during our graduation trip to Singapore and it was heart pumping yet fun and it was so dark, but after watching this it's like kinda slow. Watching this bring back memories
The Singapore one is way different (and better) than this one
The Singapore one is far and away the best
i literally looked downwards the whole time because of the visuals
i went today and omg it felt so much faster

it's like this for other indoor dark coasters, such as the aerosmith one at Disney. not scary or thrilling with light, but the darkness disorientates you and makes the ride better
Team Vison thank you for showing me the ride with lights on it because I wanted to know how they look like
Damn I've never been on Hollywood's version of the mummy but I can tell it look underwhelming compared to Orlanodo's.
