Did the same thing to mine and i pushed the little pins it has down so they would touch the coper better and its been 6 months ive done this and had no problem since
Leave it to Dodge to take something so simple as an ignition, something that you could go to the landfill find a wreck from the 1960's (after it's been crushed )and the only thing that still works is the ignition. And F it up completely. Mine started giving grief with only 75000 easy miles on it. Quite disappointed 🤬
it holds up good for a few months and then i have to clean it again its my work truck so i get alot of dust inside and i get dirt on my ignition key so everytime insert the key to start the truck im shoving dirt back into the ignition ,i wouldnt doubt spraying the key hole with computer duster or some kind of aerosol cleaner that evaporates would help it last longer id disconnect the hot wire from the battery first before spraying any kind of cleaner just to be on the safe side and not burn that pricey ignition
Hey Randy, how did you end up fixing the damaged key problem? I'm having that problem now. I have to use the fob that says damaged key to unlock my door, and my other FOB to start the truck.
the key will stay locked in the ignition when you put it in with the battery disconnected ,once youre done cleaning with the q tip connect the ignition to its wire plug connect the battery and the key will set free

It worked!! There was quite bit of dust on the board and used alcohol and started right up! Thank you for sharing!
Took longer too find the alcohol than it did to fix my truck. Thank you so much for the tip. Works perfectly now.

@@efrenperez9755 puede ser el encendido ,si no se ven luces que prenden en el tablero cuando le da vuelta a la llave de su troca va ser el encendido

I just had mine replaced on my 2014 Ram 1500. Whole thing cost me $162.50 including labor.
