I just used your method on a big block Chevy in an old C6000 GMC it's been sitting for at least 10 years I don't know how long the engine was locked up I haven't started it in I can't remember when I put in the Sea Foam and diesel fuel last Friday and today which is 7 days later the engine spins by hand thanks it worked great!

Chevy has a dustpan, really easy access to the flex plate. Also could find something jammed into the flywheel that could also prevent the engine from turning; even after pre soaking the engine.

@anthonyb6639 some people use the term seized or frozen if they can't turn it by hand. That doesn't necessarily mean the engine is garbage. Just use the method in this video and BE PATIENT! My buddy and I had to let the cylinders soak on his charger for about three days. It did work, so I'm hopeful for you my friend. Please let me know how it goes!

When I come across a situation like that transmission I'll just take a cut off wheel and a grinder and cut a small slot in the bottom of the thing to access the flex plate. It wouldn't take much of a slot to do it and you can probably just drill some little holes and run a tap in them. That will allow you to cut a piece of an old road sign or body metal or something to cover the slot and just bolt that over it. It's not going to weaken it in any significant way and you can get at the teeth on the fly wheel to bar them over.

With an engine sitting for that long of a time, I would prime the oil pump and pump oil through the entire system so you don't have lifters hammering (along with rods, etc). Easy enough to do in an old vehicle like that by pulling the distributor and use a drill to manually turn the oil pump shaft. It has been a long time since I owned a Ford FE big block like that, so I don't remember what hex size the oil pump shaft is.

My engine was frozen when i first bought it, was sitting for about 2 weeks at the time, since a buddy of mine owns a tow yard i know how long it was sitting. Me nd my friend were able to move the belt enough for it to loosen up. Didnt stay on for long since the guy was doing donuts, hit a pole and crushed the gas tank. Got it back running nd fixed the issues including the starter bolts being so loose it grinded. Changed my thermostat but these 82 mustangs are a pain in the ass for that, so it would leak and overheat, always turned it off before it got too hot. Ive had it sitting for about 5+ years since, and i started working on it again and the engine is frozen once more, havent run it but i did a full maintenance,, spark plugs/wires oil/filter nd used royal purple at that once i put a new gas tank and fuel sender in. But do u think the overheating would damage it enough to seize the engine even if it was minor nd never over an extended period of time? The oil/plugs/filter have about .2 miles on it since i didn't want to drive it and overheat it. Can the overheating be an issue?

My engine leaked oil and it is now seized. My mechanic is going to try this. 2011 BUICK LACROSSE. Any possibilities it might work and maybe a head on the engine was just busted causing the seize??
