Didn’t realize till now that it was Riply that told the company where the eggs were. And the company sent the colonists to the eggs.Ripley unknowingly doomed the colony.
The company already knew about the ship that’s why the Nostromo was diverted to find it as they had decoded the transmission and found it was a warning and why Cain was put on board because they knew it would kill the crew No charges were brought against Ripley because she knew about the company orders that mother displayed After 57 years most if not all the people in the company that diverted them to the planet were either dead or dying The order that was sent to the colony was sent by Burke after he heard Ripley talk about it and looked up the company records Ripley had nothing to do with it the company was the responsible
I knew about Burke. But what was your source on it being company orders? Because I understood it to be company policy instead. That caused them to divert course. After mother received the repeating signal and only then started to decode it. As per the first movie on both counts.

Love the alien movies. But if she only rescued Newt and escaped without messing with the queen (because in the end everything would still be blown to oblivion) she would have an easier escape, but then the movie would be a little shorter and less entertaining.

But she started bombing everything and specifically the egg sack. But you are right, because I think those spiders aren't controlled by the queen only the drones. The spiders act on instinct I think, but she could have only kill the eggs who were opening and than escaped without bombing the egg sack which is stuck on the queen. But still we can keep speculate what would happen if she did this or that, but still think the queen wouldn't care for a few eggs being blown up , but it was the sack that is stuck on the queen and with that her, because the queen would feel everything that happens to the sack that she controls. And bla bla bla...(It is fun to discuss this of how and what , but in the end the movie is what we got and we should be happy about, because i still love the Franchise)
There's a scene not here and I don't know how to find it. I know it exists though! Saw it a few years back. The reason the drop ship got compromised and Ferro and Spunkmeyer got killed was because when the ship dusted off and landed away from the compound, Spunkmeyer was outside the drop ship taking a leak. They showed him buttoning up his pants and running back on the drop ship. The door was wide open and you know who got on and made a mess of things. Bad security decision there! Would like to find that scene again...
I haven't seen the scene you mentioned in any material, it would be interesting to see it. According to the script, the drop ship is delivering equipment to Bishop. Spunkmeyer is on his way back from Bishop's until he notices xeno slime on the ramp structure. Yes, bad security decision, on the other hand the troops had defined the colony complex as secured...although earlier the troops had already encountered the xenomorphs in the terraforming plant, so yes the drop ship crew should act much more carefully.
Here’s the thing that I don’t understand. When the Marines drop down to the planet and the pilot lets them off but remains on station, the group does their reconnaissance of Hadley’s Hope which includes finding the face huggers in the med lab. Ripley already knows what happens when the face huggers deposit their embryo which hatches and becomes a Xenomorph. Knowing this, why didn’t Ripley instruct the lieutenant to instruct the pilot to stay on station either aloft or to land but have the entire ship locked down meaning they don’t leave the ship for any reason. Ripley should have known that with two face huggers having successfully laid an embryo which hatched and a Xenomorph developing, that this same xenomorph would probably be out roaming around. Of course if she did this, Aliens would have been the shortest sequel in the history of film.
Very good question. Also, why didn't the Marines destroy the facehuggers when they found them in the lab? ..of course Burke would have objected, but he had no power over the soldiers. The original, 1983 script version ("Alien 2") doesn't have Burke, the evil corporate subplot, or the facehuggers in the lab, the overall plot was clearly a rescue mission. The script has changed since then, and the final film has some flaws to somehow make the new subplot work.
@@allsortofmovies A bit of trivia. The original Alien was based on an early 1960s B movie called “It! The Terror from Beyond Space”. This came after “The Thing from another Planet” and scared the crap out of me, my brothers and my friends. Of course now that we can spot the flawed special effects it’s not as scary. But for the time that it was on television it was by far one of the scariest movies ever.
@@music4dages More precisely, Ridley Scott's Alien '79 is based on several different films and literature. Dan O'Bannon wrote the original 1976 screenplay, in which he stole/borrowed material from various sources. For example, The Thing from Another World (1951) and It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958) like you said, but also from the film Forbidden Planet (1956) and a short story Junkyard (1953). When 20th Century-Fox/Brandywine Productions bought the rights to Dan O'Bannon's 1976 screenplay, David Giler and Walter Hill (and in 1978 also Ridley Scott) began developing the screenplay into the form it appears in the film. The script of the final film also received additions/influences from other sources, for example Roger Gorman's Queen of Blood (1966). And it also should be remembered that the Alien films would not practically exist in the form they are today, without H.R. Giger and Ron Cobb, they created practically the entire visual world and monsters of the Alien films. The movie Aliens is to some extent James Cameron's independent work. He wrote the script for the Alien sequel in the early 1980s under the name "E.T." , but changed it to "Mother" when Steven Spielberg released 1982's E.T. the movie. In 1983, Brandywine hired Cameron to write a modern sci-fi version of Spartacus (1960), until Brandywine turned the job over to scripting "Alien 2." For this, James Cameron directly used the "Mother" script he wrote earlier. The background of James Cameron's Aliens movie script has often been referred to Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers novel, there has been a lot of discussion and arguments about it (probably also in court cases), but the connection to Cameron's and Heinlen's text has not been proven. Although Cameron has told the Aliens movie actors to read the Starship Troopers Novel and take influences from it for acting.

Didn’t realize till now that it was Riply that told the company where the eggs were. And the company sent the colonists to the eggs.Ripley unknowingly doomed the colony.
The company already knew about the ship that’s why the Nostromo was diverted to find it as they had decoded the transmission and found it was a warning and why
Cain was put on board because they knew it would kill the crew
No charges were brought against Ripley because she knew about the company orders that mother displayed
After 57 years most if not all the people in the company that diverted them to the planet were either dead or dying
The order that was sent to the colony was sent by Burke after he heard Ripley talk about it and looked up the company records
Ripley had nothing to do with it the company was the responsible
I knew about Burke. But what was your source on it being company orders? Because I understood it to be company policy instead. That caused them to divert course. After mother received the repeating signal and only then started to decode it. As per the first movie on both counts.

But the scene when Ash says a weird word regarding communicating with "Mother" Ripley like tripped out and laughed saying "your doing what with Mother'? (the computer)

Love the alien movies. But if she only rescued Newt and escaped without messing with the queen (because in the end everything would still be blown to oblivion) she would have an easier escape, but then the movie would be a little shorter and less entertaining.
I read it as the egg opened and she couldn’t take any chances of being followed. They were still followed but they made it away from the planet alive.
@@tiffanypersaud3518 I guess you are right, but it was only 1 egg that opened if I remember correctly, so she could have shoot the egg.
I remember all these scenes. When we had Aliens on VHS.
The lander missile launcher deployment is way overkilled...
1990 CBS special edition cut?… I think had more scenes in it than what we got later on
Love this movie
Aliens will always be my favorite of all, but now that I have seen Romulus, its now a new favorite.

I feel this is exactly how a modern military wouldend up if faced with sn unknown entity that youve never fought before. An apex predator of space who is millions of years ahead than humans terms of survival. Xenomorphs were basically the perfect organism to survive anywhere other than very hot planets. The marines here were elite. But not enough to deter the aliens. Its very scary to think there might be something similar out therein space

Cutting out the couple of minutes with the colonists from the original seems pretty ill-conceived. For two minutes, you literally have breathed life into this place and really underscored the trauma and loss of the infestation.
