The extended cut definitely is the correct way to watch BvS. It fleshes out a lot of the theatrical cut problems and while I still don't like the portrayal of Lex Luthor in BvS, I def do enjoy the movie. Just not the theatrical version.
WB executives are incompetent. I do not think this movie is amazing, but if you hire a director you should also trust the vision of that director. Good on Zack for being able to finish the movie the way he intended.
Zach Snyder wasn't fired, and didn't leave the film due to studio interference. He left because his daughter died and he was facing depression. I don't agree with Ben Shapiro about Joss Whedon's films. The first Avengers was great. The second was a product of studio interference. I also really enjoyed Serenity. Is he a good person? I cannot say, but I've met worse.
@@wazer85 No I haven't watched WW 84. I wasn't a fan of the first Wonder Woman film, even though I thought Gal Gadot did a great job. Everyone raves about Patty Jenkins as a director, but I don't agree. Wonder Woman was noting but a rip off of Captain America: The First Avenger with a terrible third act. I wouldn't have minded the switch from World War 2 to the Great War to disguise the theft of a film plot, but they got lazy. The Germans weren't the bad guys in the Great War. Those kind of mistakes, or callous lies upset me, so I never bothered to see Wonder Woman 1984.
Joss Whedon: The kind of dad that thinks that he knows what the kids want but is actually doing everything wrong Zack Snyder: The cool uncle that knows exactly what the kids want and give it to them
Zack Snyder: Film's serious father. Joss Whedon: Cool uncle who recently started renting the house next door. Joss was playing wingman to his bro Zack, but now for his wife. Later on, he saw the relationship faltering. Instead of helping, Joss and his buddies egged on the break up... Zack and his wife split. Zack's soon to be ex-wife convinced Joss to move in with her almost immediately. They both emotionally abused that film-child into complying with their exacting standards and to forget his father. But that film started skipping school and smoking rocks... Then it ran away from home until good people found it, and helped it get off the crack and get back to it's real father.
Hell, I love it too.....But then there are people who say " Batman doesn't kill people, he killed people in BVS, Batman doesn't use guns" shit and whatnot
The Snydercut now gave me a respect for Batman v Superman and the dc universe ad a whole. I like the darker and edgier tones along with the consequences.
Exactly, DC movies should stay on the darker side of the spectrum, more realistic in tone and effects. Marvel can stay brighter and funnier if they want to. This gives ppl more options to see movies, if they all go brighter with the same humor, it would make them all the same and boring.
@@loftgaming5031 I didn't like it at all....until I saw the Extended, Unrated, 3 hour version. MUCH BETTER. The plot made sense. The character motivations made sense, etc. Check it out if you have HBO MAx.

@aztekkthundergod I agree, he is wrong about a lot of stuff. It's ok to get excited and talk up this new version of Justice League...but you just can't take a dump on what Marvel have done with the MCU. The figures show that they nailed it in terms of reaching out to audiences. Growing up I was a massive DC fan, but I've become a huge fan of the MCU since 2008. Having said that I did really like the Snyder cut. I like that it wasn't trying so hard to copy the MCU. @@ariyansingh4914 I think he meant it comes to grips with it by saying it shouldn't happen but in snyder's dceu, it comes to grips with it by saying, it's meant to happen when two literal gods are fighting with each other on earth.
Its a great film, the problem is it completely missed the tone of Superman's character and didn't do justice to the Clark Kent side of things. An example is if we'd gotten Batman films that are full of jokes and Bruce is always happy and chipper. You could make a GOOD film like that, but it wouldn't be Batman.
The critics and the Hollywood industry hated Man of Steel for political reasons. Man of Steel has a lot of classical American fantasy/fairytale story tropes like the hero's journey, the hero rescuing the damsel in distress, the damsel in distress falling in love with the hero easily, etc etc. In addition it has a lot of Christian symbolism. And lastly, Superman being a very all-American hero from Kansas. "I'm about as American as it gets" - Supes says in the end. Hans Zimmer and Snyder said for the score they were going for a very "Optimistic American" vibe.

If you look into Ben's history, he was created by a guy in Hollywood. True story. The guy said that he'd make Ben famous and rich... then he changed Ben's style, tightened up his look, changed his hair... and then Ben became an actor.
He's skill points all went to speech. Talks at 2X speed but can understand all he say. Changing topics mid speech is just low tier stuff in his skill set.
@M Ralte they can easily recast. They did it with Rhodey/War Machine (I know, we shouldn't talk about Marvel here, but hear me out), and yes, the recast was done with rather questionable motives, but Don Cheadle absolutely nailed the role he was given in the wake of Terrence Howard's departure, or whatever you want to call it. DC does NOT need Amber Heard to succeed (nor does anyone, honestly) or to make a sequel, especially given that the clip in question could very well be a potential future, possibly even a result of a Flashpoint Paradox. Really the only point I wanted to make; other than that, let's enjoy us a good Justice League movie that has been a long time coming.
What he said abt characters in dc universe not winking at the audience and making inside jokes isn't rlly true cuz I'm watching snyder cut now,15 minutes in and there's a scene where alfred says "A man who spends all his time brooding in a cave isn't a good recruiter",if that isn't an inside joke, what is?

The best thing about Snyder's cut was not giving full credit of stopping Steppenwolf to superman as ultimate saviour and made it as team effort of all superheroes.
I think what you mean is that the team knew they needed him but in Snyder's movie they still went out to stop him having faith that Superman would come to help. In Joss's movie they were hopeless and were acting like they were powerless without Superman. The difference is huge. Comedic is fine, but when it overshadows the seriousness of the story, it'd feel like a comedy sketch & hard to be taken seriously. Look at Harry Potter saga, Star Wars OT & PT, LoTR. They had comedic moments but didn't overshadow the seriousness of the story. DC did it too in both Nolan & Zack's era. You've got comedy here & there, but still feels the seriousness of the story. Interesting that Whedon would call Trump a racist when the most egregious cuts to Justice League came at the expense of the women and people of color in the film, especially Cyborg. Cyborg had a level of character development in this film in a way I've never seen before. It literally makes no sense to cut any of his or his father's scenes, they actually filled in a lot of the gaps in the story.
That “somethings definitely bleeding” line was kinda funny, but shouldn’t have been used in a DC movie, by Batman, after being brutally attacked by Superman 🤣
Zack even stayed on the movie after Autumn died, he tried to work through his grief to get the film finished and keep him distracted. Then they sent Geoff Johns in to "babysit" him, who then, without consulting Zack, brought on Joss Whedon, who in the end, only once talked to Zack and that was it. They interrupted the flow of the project and practically bullied Zack and his wife Deborah off the film, then carrying on without them and changing a lot of what Zack originally wanted to be in the film. At the premiere, Deborah and Christopher Nolan (who produced the films and even co-wrote Man of Steel) were there and saw the film, Zack couldn't come due to the pain of going, and they came back to him and told him "you can never see that film". When they brought him back to release his cut of the film, they wanted it to be unfinished and on his laptop. He stated that he'd rather the film be a "mythical unicorn" than that.
Zack Snyder's relationship with WB is unbelievably toxic and abusive. As much as I'd love for him to get at least one more Justice League movie to wrap everything up, I wouldn't blame him at all if he never worked with Warner Bros. ever again, or at least until there's new management.
True, mate. WB is just toxic af. They got panic & took the wrong direction without really discussing it with the director (Zack). Then they threw him under the bus. DarkSeid is like this relentless, uncaring, destructive force that Steppenwolf has to serve and does whatever he can to impress, regardless if he actually wants to.

This movie proves that studios shouldn't interfere with the Director's vision.
Did you watch Wonder Woman 1984. The Director was given total leeway and she butchered the characters.

@aztekkthundergod I agree, he is wrong about a lot of stuff. It's ok to get excited and talk up this new version of Justice League...but you just can't take a dump on what Marvel have done with the MCU. Man of steel is severely underrated I still don’t understand why
Epic film, loved superman for first time (as I did with nolans batman)
Its a great film, the problem is it completely missed the tone of Superman's character and didn't do justice to the Clark Kent side of things.
An example is if we'd gotten Batman films that are full of jokes and Bruce is always happy and chipper. You could make a GOOD film like that, but it wouldn't be Batman.
Best superman movie hands down.
Best superman movie i have seen so far
The critics and the Hollywood industry hated Man of Steel for political reasons. Man of Steel has a lot of classical American fantasy/fairytale story tropes like the hero's journey, the hero rescuing the damsel in distress, the damsel in distress falling in love with the hero easily, etc etc. In addition it has a lot of Christian symbolism. And lastly, Superman being a very all-American hero from Kansas. "I'm about as American as it gets" - Supes says in the end. Hans Zimmer and Snyder said for the score they were going for a very "Optimistic American" vibe.

They had comedic moments but didn't overshadow the seriousness of the story. DC did it too in both Nolan & Zack's era. You've got comedy here & there, but still feels the seriousness of the story. You feel like if the heroes failed or if they succeed but created casualities, that world would be really f-ked & you'd sympathise with it. In MCU phase 1 to 3, you can't feel it at all, except the "haha, that's funny" then you'd forget that the world around those heroes could've been f-ked if the heroes failed. It was .... ok. But I totally agree with him on Batfleck. They did a great job right there. HOWEVER they made Superman so brooding and dark compared to the way the character actually is they had to make Batman basically the punisher. Because those two characters always had a contrast on how they operated from the very start of superhero comics. Snyder's take works best with characters are already dark. Snyder LITERALLY and purposefully references Ayn Rand several times throughout his trilogy.
Ayn Rand is an old 20th century writer of soviet decent.
She always wrote of her philosophy "objectivism"
She is a God to all Libertarians and Free-Market lovers.
She hated anything about "collectivism" and constantly said the world would be a better place if Man would strive to only help themselves.
By fullfilling your own desires somehow that makes the world a better place.
Shapiro loves Ayn Rand. Every Pro-free-marketeer does.
Its not the ONLY reason why he likes Snyders trilogy...but I'm sure the Ayn Rand references tickles Shapiro just right

Wokeness is the cover for what they claim they're against, but actually support.
Wow. Joss is really Whe-dumb
LOL
Your first mistake was believing that they care about anything besides themselves
Like all liberals, Jose Whedon is a hypocrite
That “somethings definitely bleeding” line was kinda funny, but shouldn’t have been used in a DC movie, by Batman, after being brutally attacked by Superman 🤣
yes its funny in a bad way. like you can make a meme and laugh about it and laugh about the movie.
Yea that personally pissed me off too. And just so happens I wasn't the only one.
True, mate. WB is just toxic af. They got panic & took the wrong direction without really discussing it with the director (Zack). Then they threw him under the bus.
The audacity of them to suggest Zack to release the film in its unpolished raw form was disgusting. They clearly wanted to keep turning Zack to be the scapegoat of their recklessness, so the audience & the media would've got mad at him if the movie was released like they've suggested.
He’s garbage 😂
