@@YTChannel420 I took it as them honoring him when he departs because he brings their village fish every year during the winter when food is scarce. It might have seemed excessive but to me, it did drive home the point what he does for the community and how highly they think of him.
It's funny how WB didn't want to use Zack's design of Steppenwolf cause he was too "scary" when he ended up making us all feel sympathy for him with those puppy eyes, lol.
I am an MCU fan. I also thoroughly enjoyed Man of Steel, the extended version of Batman vs Superman, and Wonder Woman 2017. The MCU seems to want to tell a more lighthearted story. The DCEU seems to want to go into a darker direction. Warner Bros seemed to try to make Justice League some form of Avengers/DC hybrid, I guess. The fact that Zack's design of Steppenwolf is "scary" makes me really want to see this, as well as other reasons. Both the MCU and DCEU are very different from each other, which is a good thing, but I still find both entertaining, for different reasons. I hope the Snyder Cut comes out on DVD/Blue Ray soon.
That's a lose lose on WB arguement. A villain is supposed to be scary and threatning, and the fans love Zack's design, he looks exactly like the type of character you'd expect to be a threat to a world defended by the justice league.
@@richardthomas5362 exactly, you can be a fan of both. I don't see the need for a rivalry. True comic fans should be thrilled with the current choice of movies to choose from
There were exactly two things from the Whedon movie I would have brought in, one is the scene where Aquaman is sitting on WW lasso of truth, and the other is when Bruce Wayne says "it's like a reflex" after he tells Clark he bought the bank. This movie is an entirely better movie.
Well, he was called already in post production to try to put out the fire, I don't think it's fair to blame him when all he did was make the movie smaller and less "snydery" like the studio asked. Also, this movie was supposed to be divided in two parts, so these 4h of runtime are actually two movies bonded together.
That's simply being reductive. People are unnecessarily shitting on Whedon. He was given a unrealistic and stupid mandate, as was Snyder before him to deliver them a movie that is 2 hours long. Even if Snyder was given the power to release a cut he liked then, it would have still been 2 and half hours or slightly longer, allowing him to keep a lot of the scenes here to give context, easily giving him the edge over Whedon's. If Whedon was given a 2 and half hour mandate, he probably would have kept these scenes as well since a lot of the scenes from the 4 hour version did make it to the 2017 version. Snyder only shot one new scene for the 4 hour version - the rest were already filmed footage that had unfinished VFX shots, which also included Cyborg scenes. WB didn't want to give any extra money for those scenes and Whedon had to make do with what he had. Any re-shoots he had to make was to re-contextualize and modify certain scenes in order for the movie to make sense as a whole, since he had to cut a lot of pre-existing scenes out to keep within the 2 hour mark. The Snyder cut is definitely the better version, for sure but if Snyder had delivered a 2 hour movie in 2017, I wonder how disjointed it could have been - would it have been worse than Whedon's or better? It is so very rare that filmmaker gets to deliver a 4 hour movie with all extraneous and deleted scenes intact for consumption. A 4 hour version would have never been released in the cinemas. It's pretty great to see this version but any praise given to it needs to be within the context it was designed for and not as a real theatrical movie or even as a side to side comparison to Whedon's (except as a lark) because they're 2 different animals with 2 different objectives.
@@nicolassteckert7149 I dissagree. It left out the so important dialogue where he lost his mother and was looking for her, i remember it went something along the lines of " where is my mommy 😖"
Zack Snyder had the courage to go back to work on this movie despite the bad memories it implied. He even gave up his pay to be able to finance this new version, and he dedicated this work to his daughter. Hats off to him ! This movie is not perfect but is all the same wonderful !
He also threw under the bus the people who constantly supported him in order to virtue signal his cultist and contradictory "muh unity" dogma. I don't get why people use what happened to one of his spoiled virtue signaling foreign looking adoptions as a measure of his quality as a good person when it probably is the opposite, being a rich liberal celebrity and all.

Every time I see that clip of superman flying by while holding a building over his head, I can only hear drinker saying: "I'm no structural engineer, but I'm pretty sure that's not how buildings work."
@@Neyodip Forget "breaking it", how did he pick up the building at all rather than simply punching a Superman-shaped hole straight through it? I guess the answer is some technobabble about how Superman's flight ability is based on gravitons and so he just expanded his antigravity field to the entire building, but that should allow Supes to do a lot of crazy physics-manipulating things that we never see.
@@Ithirahad In the comics Kryptonians have a form of Tactile Telekensises. Objects that Superman touched were enveloped by an invisible telekinetic field that allowed him to move them with the force of his will. So he wouldn't punch straight through an airplane or a building!
This is actually a classic Superman 'power' that allows him to 'catch' crashing airliners and stuff. As Raffay Ahmed said, he's not just 'strong', he can actually 'spread' or 'expand' the force from his body over a large area. It's still jarring if you didn't already know about it, though.
Zacks cut of Cyborg was practically a different character. I understood why he felt the way he did, I understood his backstory clearly, and his arch was completed.
It definitely made his desire alot more clear and the movie explained it well enough without having to dive into his backstory too much.... But, I would have liked to know a little more about Steppenwolf and what exactly went down.
My take on it is hat he tried to take the throne when Uxas was weak but didn't succeed. If he would've tried to kill him, he wouldn't have made it for this film so I'm guessing he got greedy and saw a chance.

Yeah, Marvel was smart enough to make Thanos into a cultural phenomenon before DC could with Darkseid. And Thanos actually looks good. He is not some CGI abomination, plus, he has a clear cut motivation. Darkseid is still the boring old generic monster. The portal scene is cool but you can't really call what comes after a fight scene, it looks like a game of tag but with the infinity gauntlet. Affneck gritty Batman should had own prequel tragic story. SvB was cool concept but ploholes were too dump dint really work together. Still i m of opinion Flash, Cyborg, Fall of Batman, Man of Steel, Wonderwoman, Aquaman should be all individual movies. All that could be gritty and "real" like Snyder wants. That could very nice differatiator from Marvel indeed. Idea was definetly there. All that plotlines should merge into Justice league 1,2, 3 - whatever. On the mother box point: I got the feeling Darkside really didn't care about the mother boxes because they were just another tool in his universe spanning armory of awesome weapons and tools. Its like finding an old and useful wrench you had when you first started working on cars and going "oh cool, I have like, three other sets that do something similar but can always use another one I guess." And then remembering that you left a box of diamonds next to that particular wrench and then going and looking for the diamonds (the Anti-Life Equation is the diamonds here).
the reason mother boxes are important is that they create Boom-Tubes, and Boom Tubes are how the New Gods (Darkseid, his minions, and his enemies on New Gensis) get around the universe, specifically, how they get from their realm to the DC Universe proper. They basically create portals in space and time that transport you from one place to another, as easy as stepping across a room.
From my understanding of the movie, the Darkseid didn't discover the AL equation on his trip to Earth. The Mother Boxes did at some point and then revealed it to Steppenwolf.

Just watched it. That scene with them walking some stairs to a slow rock music was not odd at all to me. That wasn't "action" music, and the context was the heroes were doing something heroic as a team for the first time. There were not just walking stairs, they were on their way to rescue hostages and very shortly and intense action scene followed. That slow metal riff was an indication that were are seeing Justice League, and not just different characters sharing a frame, for the first time.
That scene shows for the first time the birth of a united group of heroes, a Justice League that cares for each other (Superman pulling up Batman) and ready to do what they do best to save the world... It deserves an epic music in the background......
Arguably that scene isnt the worst in the movie music-wise and fit well...however, the first 30 minutes of the movie has some questionable and oddly placed music choices.
@@dezznutz3743 Well, I may agree on this. I was quite surprides when Cyborg stopped two thugs from robbing a woman in an alley to "X gon give it to you". It wasn't necessarily bad, but a bit out of place. Still, Whedon and WB could have kept it instead of "bruch" scene.

Like when he look like he had those watery puppy eyes when DeSaad basically told him that what's he doing is barely enough. If my pov were on his side, he's definitely a tragic character.
It's explained in the Snyder Cut that Steppenwolf tried to seize Darkside's throne and when the plot went south he killed all his co-conspirators. (It's not explained if it was for himself or someone else but the fact that it is mentioned right after that Steppenwolf and Darkside are related seems to imply it was f or himself)
No, Steppenwolf HESITATED to dispatch a rebellion. That hesitation alone was his crime against Darkseid. He never tried to seize the throne. It's just that he considered for just a second that maybe it was better for Darkseid to not rule.
Zack Snyder is to film what Alex ross is to comic book illustration. I really enjoyed the Snyder cut a lot, and towards the end I found myself feeling empathy for steppenwolf, which , in itself, shows how fleshed out the character is. I like Zack Snyder’s version of Batman and Superman. This one guy had a UA-cam video talking about how Batman V Superman is misunderstood and is actually better than what haters say and explains why. He goes deep into why and how the movie talks about the imagery of western civilization’s god problem. The video imo is well researched and explained. It’s those types of movies that I like. He also explains how the Christopher Reeve’s style of Superman (always smiling Boy Scout that fights for truth, justice and the American way) doesn’t fit in today’s society. There’s a part in the film where Clark is arguing with Perry White about the Daily Planet fighting for truth and justice. Perry White said it did back in 1950 but not anymore. I loved Christopher Reeve’s Superman. But I think it was harder to make good films about that kind of Superman. He’s almost so perfect there’s no character development or very little at least. He has very little struggles. He made one mistake in Superman 2 by turning human. The sequels were just him back to who he was again. Snyder’s version of Superman deals with trying to find his place in a world that’s not his and he faced situations where he’s struggling to do the right thing. When the kid in man of steel tried to fight him he was tempted to punch a hole through the kid’s chest but he didn’t. I feel that this kind of writing would fit any narrative of Superman losing himself than man made kryptonite with tar in it lol (Superman 3). I love Snyder’s version of Batman who lost his moral compass after seeing all the good people of Gotham turn evil and Superman’s fight with Zod destroying parts of metropolis and causing casualties. And it was Superman’s moment of humanity, begging and pleading the life of another, his mother, that brought hope for humanity back to Bruce. Usually it’s Superman that’s always the one spiraling out of control and Batman being the one to bring him back. The more flawed a character is the better the stories imo. I do agree that Warner Bros was trying to compete with marvel and they interrupted Zack’s vision to quickly make money. I blame Warner Bros for the reason why they there weren’t any solo films setting up for the Justice League. Zack probably kept his film 4 hours long to go out with a bang since WB said they weren’t going to continue the snyderverse after the Snyder cut anyway to show everyone what he had in store for his universe.
Imagine typing all that for nothing. If Batman vs Superman so ''great and misunderstood'' then why did it flop and get horrible reviews, Snyder literally had to remake it and even the remake flopped. *movie critis* "haha DC is just trying to copy the MCU" *also movie critics* "WTF are you doing, DC? Stop trying to do your own thing. You need to do exactly what the MCU did!"
Imitating what the MCU did is nothing to be ashamed of... The problem is, the DCEU rushed the heck out of its crossover films instead of taking its time. Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man 2 all came before The Avengers. Some of these movies weren't all that successful (none was an outright flop) but they introduced each character prior to the team-up. What came right after after Man of Steel? Batman V. Superman (which should have been like five movies in, not the second movie in the DCEU). Then came Wonder Woman, then Justice League. They rushed it. That, coupled with the fact they never got Supes quite right (the MCU, despite it's flaws, got its core characters' spirit "correct") and the DCEU went belly up.
@@dante6985 You know, I think that they could've made 2 Batman and 2 Superman movies (one of those 4 having Batman fight Superman), along with a Wonder Woman movie before Justice League and it would've been much better that way. This way they could've been introduced the Bat-verse (Nightwing, Suicide Squad which consists of Batman's enemies, Batgirl, Joker and Harley, etc.), and the Superman and Wonder Woman movies which would've introduced us to the other Justice League members. Not to mention, we could've also had a movie on Lex Luthor. Then a movie on the New Gods (which was cancelled unfortunately) would've introduced us to Darkseid and Steppenwolf and DeSaad and the rest of the members of Darkseid's army and what goes on in Apokolips. Man, the possibilities.
Darkseid didn’t forget what planet he left the motherboxes on, he knew the whole time, he was waiting for the Old God’s and any other major defenders of the Earth to die or move on so he could come back and claim it. What he didnt realize was that Anti Life Equation was on Earth, he probably would’ve tried to come back to conquer it sooner had he known that prior to Steppenwolf telling him.
@@diablojones A pussy? How so. He knew earth had warriors capable of defeating him so obviously he didn’t try his luck when he knew he’d lose. I didn't like the anti-life equation element. The story of the boxes was more than enough. Furthermore this being on Earth was a little bit convenient given that fight was there. In the comics the anti-life equation is not something that you can take. It's not on Earth or anywhere else. It's in the name: an equation which makes any form of life obedian. You control free-will.
@Natural Harmonia Gropius Word Yes I have seen it. But not all in one sitting, which was my point. I wouldn't have gone to see it in a cinema (with or without intermissions).

I thought it was a whedon cut. Nightmare scene was one of the best things of this movie. Flash was great too. Cyborg was great in many ways but in a way leaving flash's story on the side just doesn't make sense to me. Wonder woman was great she did a lot. But the team up work wasn't good. I don't like the recent mcu but hell their team up work is much better. Snyder is better at solo movies then movies with several heroes. I'd rather watch bvs. I know it's contradictory but snyder was able to tell 2 stories in 3 hours while in JL, he wasmaking 4 stories in 4 hours while the plot should be centered not put apart. *THAT'S WHY YOU MAKE SOLO MOVIES* The dialogue isn't great some of them are cringe. Let's not forget the random music videos that kept happening like when flash was saving the girl or the people singing when aquaman dived or whatever.. that could have shortened the movie by 10-15 minutes
I watched it 5 times 3 times straight through. Even my girl had to admit it, we have this back and forth because she's a marvel fan. Snyder cut was an epic improvement from the first version: - more character development - The flash and Cyborg really stood out - Steppenwolf has a more interesting motivation and better CGI - Batman's physical appearance and enthusiasm is better - Wonder woman was a badass - Great music to build tension - Cringy scenes and dialogues were removed - Jared Leto Joker was not perfect but it was improvement - Superman's GCI mouth was removed
I enjoyed it VERY much... It was long because he dumped all he could on us, knowing there won't be a continuation. Its a good farewell to the justice league that i bet we wont see again so soon
I really loved the Snyder Cut. Although I agree that there was some weird music choices (i.e. them playing that lady singing "Hoh hoh hoh ahuh-hoh hoh" eveytime Wonder Woman did anything - that got old really fast) and there was way too many slow-motion cuts, however I thought the story and character development were way better compared to Joss Whedon's version. I thought the acting overall was a lot better by the main cast - they seemed to be a lot more enthusiastic and invested in Snyder's shots. Ben Affleck is still my favourite Batman. Don't get me wrong I think Christian Bale was awesome, Ibut just think Ben Affleck's is more comic accurate. Really dark, haunted, jaded and menacing like Batman should be. The best parts for me were the Knightmare sequence (the cinematography, acting and direction was outstanding) and Darkseid's conversation with Steppenwolf (so many chills watching that). I really hope WB resurrects the Snyderverse. I would love to see them finish off the Justice League Movies properly. Although it took a lot of work from a lot dedicated and passionate people to get the Snyder Cut released, so I'm happy to settle for this. Okay that's all I've got for today, I'll go away now.
Too bad not everyone will realize Justice League and Darkseid were established well before Avengers and Thanos. Marvel just beat them onto the screen first.
Tbf, from a movies-only perspective, I think it is fair for people to see it that way. Similar build-ups and same type of threats to their respective universes. Obviously its only that way because of their similarities in the comics as well, but still. I think comic fans are now being too harsh on Thanos whenever he's mentioned just because Darkseid came first.
@@Josh-si6ds I haven't seen the Snyder cut yet, but given how Darkseid is, it would have been better to have Superman meet Darkseid before this movie, that way an arch nemesis could be made for this movie, so that way when Superman died, Darkseid would send his agents to extract Superman so that he can revive him and brainwash him just like he did in the comic. I don't know how Darkseid brainwashed Superman while he was on Apokolips, but the point is a plot like this would have been better than having the team try to use the motherbox to perform a resurrection. Like, that's suppose to be something only God can do, and so it's only fitting that Darkseid would not only have the means to do this, but also the motive.

To be fair, Whedon didn't have complete control over that cut of the movie. He was given strict orders to do a 2 hour version, and that scene with the Flash would likely have bumped it over the runtime. If anyone is to blame, it's Warner Bros.
@@nebularain3338 Let's not forget: Whedon wasn't given a completed movie and had 6 months to finish it for theatrical release. Including reshoots, special effects, and cuts.

Joss Whedon is truly a visionary. He made the parody of a very cool movie that wouldn't be released 'til 4 years later.
There were exactly two things from the Whedon movie I would have brought in, one is the scene where Aquaman is sitting on WW lasso of truth, and the other is when Bruce Wayne says "it's like a reflex" after he tells Clark he bought the bank. This movie is an entirely better movie.
this reply going to have thousands like
Well, he was called already in post production to try to put out the fire, I don't think it's fair to blame him when all he did was make the movie smaller and less "snydery" like the studio asked.

I remembered when Thanos was DarkSeid 2.0. Now seeing DarkSeid be referred as Thanos 2.0 is kinda fucking weird. Like living in an alternate reality or something.
Yeah, Marvel was smart enough to make Thanos into a cultural phenomenon before DC could with Darkseid. And Thanos actually looks good. He is not some CGI abomination, plus, he has a clear cut motivation. Darkseid is still the boring old generic monster. The Snydercut may have redeemed Steppenwolf but replaced one boring generic monster villain with another, letting Darkseid take his place instead.

@@lanedayes7956 For a 70 million dollar budget, I honestly had no problems with the special effects. For the plotholes, the majority of them are just glimpses for a possible sequel.
As for why I didn't like Endgame: they executed the time travel part quite poorly in my opinion and it felt like a drag after a while, I was rewatching the movie a while ago and that part bored the shit out of me. The portal scene is cool but you can't really call what comes after a fight scene, it looks like a game of tag but with the infinity gauntlet. Captain Marvel has no role or good dialogue in the entire movie yet saves them twice. Marvel is really going overboard with the comedy. Some of the jokes are just shit. I honestly hated what they did to Hulk. They so-called merged Bruce Banner and Hulk but Hulk's whole personality is just gone. He only keeps the looks but even then, he's unable to fight. The whole plot of the movie was caused by a rat who accidentally stepped on a button which got Ant-man out of the quantum realm, so Ant-man could go to Avengers HQ and come with the brilliant idea of time travel. That's really lazy writing in my opinion.
@Sam Thomas yeah I also liked both and I understand. I agree with the better CG, antagonist and music part. But not with better characterisation and certainly not with better plot development.
I wrote a comment to another guy in this thread explaining my negative thoughts about Endgame. So if you want to read that, scroll up.
I thought it was fantastic! I think the key to the Snyder Cut was the fact that no hero felt un-needed or unessential. Cyborg became a terrific character in Snyder's film and he was, like the Flash, non-essential and background in the Whedon cut.
@Tano the problem is they packed so much material in a handful of films. They didn't take their time to build their universe. That's the real problem.
@@I.Odnamra Totally agree. Rome wasn't built in a day, as the old saying goes, and it took over ten years for the MCU to do its thing. If DC would have thought long-term rather than rush things, who knows where it would be now?

Uhhhh batman? He felt pretty useless. Could've just stuck back like alfred and wouldn't have made a difference.
@Tano Maybe. But then u need to be more creative. At least if Man of Steel and Wonderwoman would had cohesive storys. You could lure people into universe. But Becuse all movies were bad exept Shazam (not even relevant to dc story) and Wonderwoman they had nothing to work with. Expecially hurtfull when they were competing with Marvel at time. You could come up with some really nice movies with differnt conflicts like BvS, Cyborg vs IDK lesbian catwoman (even strong WAMEN would be happy- and me i like leather hehe). But no!! They were afraid of Marvel. Simple as that. Surely they would not made as much profit. But who cares. On long run they would create very good universe too build on it.

"WTF are you doing, DC?
They didn't say that, you are over exaggerating

What he didnt realize was that Anti Life Equation was on Earth, he probably would’ve tried to come back to conquer it sooner had he known that prior to Steppenwolf telling him.
Damn, why did they make Darkseid such a pussy?
@@diablojones A pussy? How so. He knew earth had warriors capable of defeating him so obviously he didn’t try his luck when he knew he’d lose. Steppebwolf did mention that earth is weak with no defenders so maybe thats what made Dark seid reconsider to invade again
When he first invaded the earth, he was Uxas before becoming Darkseid, which is a much more powerful version of himself.
