I just love how Ben calmly reassembled the plot like. "What if James Bond didn't know whether he can trust the woman or not? What if this movie was abt James Bond the Agent and James Bond the man who wants to finally build a normal life with someone he truly loves? And in the end, he ends up making the wrong decision of not trusting her but when he finds out he was wrong, it's too late coz now he has to fight the bad guy and he sacrifices himself to save the planet." This.

" And in the end, he ends up making the wrong decision of not trusting her but when he finds out he was wrong"
The idiot movie have a 5 year timejump... James Bond gets nothing done during those years similar to "Rise of Skywalker" where Luke Skywalker is supposed to have spent years "searching" for the dagger... These idiot writers dont even bother to make years move for the character. They just conclude "Years passed, nothing happened" then after awhile they exiled themselves somewhere to die from where the genius script gets them for a "final job" which off course is written to make them die to market a new character.... Absolute Ass!

It's very possible that he's like 18 at the beginning. That puts him at only a few years older than Swann.

Also this is the first Bond we’ve had since Lazenby actually fall in love (maybe they got married IDK) with the love interest. So yes it makes sense he’s be willing sacrifice himself rather than risk exposing Madeleine or their daughter to the nanobots, I think any husband/father would do that for his wife and daughter. But honestly would it have killed them to let this Bond get a happy ending, he’s the one who had the most tragedy and heartbreak.

I have a (film) theory that explains a lot...(Spolers ahead) And this isn't ALL my theory, so don't shoot the messenger.. I think that 'Skyfall' (2012) is the last James Bond film.. Sky falling is another word for the End of the world... The intro scene sees James Bond falling to his death from a bridge after being shot by another agent.. Even the title sequence suggests Bond is dead with a tombstone and all.. And Adele sings "For this is the end ; I've drowned and dreamt this moment".. SO, the theory goes: EVERYTHING you see after this, is the final temptation of Bond, AND his final thoughts before death (we even see his tombstone as I said)... He sees his fears come true..MI6 being blown up.. Some guy suggesting Bond is homosexual.. and thus Bond is no womanizer.. Foreshadowing someone named 'Eve'. THEN.. the next James Bond movie is called 'Spectre (2015) which means 'a ghost'. (ALL happenstance as Ian Fleming would put it). So James is a ghost now, and in his last film 'No time to Die' (2021), he is faced with all kind of religious concepts before dying.. The villain is Lyutsifer Safin... well, that is Lucifer aka Satan.. we also have MAdeline (origin being Mary Magdalene). And why the name Paloma =dove( meaning the use of a dove as a symbol of peace originated with early Christians, who portrayed baptism accompanied by a dove)? I know, I know, laugh at me.. BUT...think about the broken mask suggesting the two-faced Judas. Think about the final scene and Bond dying(or not).. We have a Judas, we have a Mary.. THEN who is playing Jesus?. WELL, he is the guy who sacrificed himself for the need of the many. James Bond did die at the end..But don't worry, the end titles of the movie says 'James Bond will return'..

Bond is a badass in that film, particularly in the action sequences where he doesn’t indulge in any nonsense; he fights quickly and efficiently. And I didn’t get bored with his near-perfect fights because the choreography favored the idea of Bond thinking quickly on his feet. I remember a fight in the film, for instance, where Bond recognized someone who was going to fight him and Bond ended the fight in about 5 seconds by throwing a chair at the enemy. That was also a nice callback to how often Connery’s Bond used chairs in many of his fights (my friend and I at the time ended up calling Connery-Bond’s martial art “Chair-Fu” simply because he used chairs in as many fights as possible),.

Within the first 20 minutes of the film:
    1. No one can jump off a bridge and hold on to a cable with their bare hands. After 10 feet of falling the cable would rip out of your hands and you would fall to your death.
    2. Throughout the shootout on the bridge, the bad guys are randomly shooting in the direction of, not only bond, but the other bad guys as well.
    3. All the staircases that bond rides up with a dirt bike are conveniently lined with ramp blocks. Also, no one is going to jump off a wall at that angle with that speed. You would just hit the wall.
    4. A man walks up to Bonds car, shooting a weapon (I believe a $ho+gun) that clearly has a limited magazine. He fires close to 30 rounds without reloading. For a magazine that fits in his hand, it's hard to believe he could hold that many rounds.
    5. Bad guys surrounding Bond's car and firing automatic weapons in the direction of each other. Once again, bad guys would be accidentally shooting each other. Apparently bullet penetration and ricochets don't exist in the Bond world.
Plot aside, the action sequences lacked realism. Even for a Bond film.

FINALLY saw this tonight. When it hit theaters I was too busy. Caught a VERY subtle nod to Casino Royale. When Rami Malek first visits Madeline in her office, he points out a Foxglove in her office. Kind of pinkish, purplish flower, very common in Europe, and invasive in parts of the US. Foxglove is of the genus Digitalis, which is the poison that Le Chiffre tried to kill Bond with at Casino Royale. Neither film ties Digitalis and Foxglove together. Tough one to catch, but for Botany/Flower nerds.

My feeling at the end was that this was an honorable death.
Bond actually died in a final show of overwhelming male virtue.
While actually that sort of feels like it was an accident, not in line with the dark-skinned lady being rather aggressive about being the better successor.

I mean, they certainly help lol. I think most importantly, a sense of optimism and bond just enjoying himself more is more on brand for this franchise. I think craig's acting was fine but these films were pretty one-note aside from some of casino royale. Depressing

Honestly speaking, they should have had James Bond settle down instead of die. That way they could have brought him back in a John Wick style return to badassery to get vengeance for his family or to save his family in danger from a villain that figured out the truth and acted on it.
And the black woman agent they had should have had a different number. To my limited knowledge as far as the source material goes 00 agents are given a number that will never be given to anyone else and cannot be inherited, they are meant to identify the unique individual agent in the service. When you hear 007 that means James Bond is on the case, if you hear a different 00 number that means a different agent is on the case. This enables the individual agents to build up their track record of success and their own notoriety.
Doing this would have enabled them to setup a spin off series where the other agent could be built up on their own after being introduced in the main James Bond series.

The fact that she’s 007 is terrible. I mean, Bond saved the world at least 20 times. And they didn’t even care to retire his number??? But adding her into the film did nothing. The only significance she had was to blow up the base if needed and to hold the Russian scientist hostage.
Plus, I never got the point of Luke Ash. Like, seriously, did they just add him in to get an extra 30 minutes?
Other than all that, I think the movie was ok. I’d give it 7.1/10.
