Thanks so much eddie for remembering our great UA-cam friend spike Hammond .best wishes to you Eddie for 2024 John ❤
My pleasure, only sad it was for his passing and not a meeting.
@@EddieSkelson proud of you Eddie for the empathy you showed and your presenting ... A true gent and great to watch 💯👏👏
And I totally agree Eddie, I had his pleasure after 11 years and he was a very kind soul.
That was a very moving and beautiful tribute to Spike Hammond. Very kind of you to do that. It was an amazing sunset indeed! I actually liked the bent tree shot👍🤩 I hope you and yours have a great new year filled with health, happiness and much success.
Thanks Dave, I thought you might like the bent tree shot (not that you’re biased or anything). Good luck to you. Your treks are a relaxing watch for me and I hope to see more this year!

Fantastic video Sir, no doubt our paths will cross or I may venture into one of your images. All the best mate. 📷
Cheers Tim. There's no avoiding me.
Some amazing pictures as usual, The Roaches is on my 'to visit very soon' list maybe even this weekend. Can you tell me where you parked for this one as I have heard that there are wardens hawking their trade in that area lately and would hate to fall foul of those parasites.
Ok, There’s a good run of roadside parking but you HAVE to go early. The Roaches is VERY popular at the weekend because jackasses like me keep spouting on about it. By early I mean don’t be much after sunup.
The stretch of road runs from below Hen Cloud right up to the top near the single house. BUT, don’t go over the line, don’t park in the disabled spot without the required blue badge (but you wouldn’t anyway because all my followers are good people) and don’t even think about parking in the passing and turning spots.
The higher up the road the easier the access to the trails. No big deal but if you are like me you want the fastest access to the gates.
You can, if you are VERY early, park at Roach End. There are about five or six legit spaces. Don’t risk it if you aren’t early early early. Don’t try to be clever with parking, if it isn’t designated you’ll get fined.
That’s about it. There are parking spaces at the Tea place I believe, I think they are a few quid (possibly under a fiver) which will suffice in a pinch. I would rather die than pay for parking however, so… I’m basically unreliable when it comes to that kind of information.
