Used to live in California . The local drivers were promoted from the night loading dock . They put in time before even making it to be a driver . They hustle all day . Stepping up and down from that truck is hard on your knees. Most people think a job is sitting in front of a computer screen . I feel they get paid fairly.
Your pay scale really matters where you are. It’s gonna be different in every state. I’m a pkg delivery driver in ca and we top out at 42.33. But it’s California sooo haha.

Here in az just got a job at amazon starting out at 26 an hour. And I get to drive the work van home after work. It's an electric new work van if you can provide changing to the van at your house you can drive it home
In the Holiday Season of 1983 , right after graduating from High School , I got a UPS job as a Christmas time driver's helper and made $8 per hr ...which was triple the min wage and worked 10-12 hr days. I met the Driver at the local Mall parking lot and worked appx 6-7 weeks. I was invited to work in the warehouse in 1984 loading trucks at night... and unloading trailer trucks part time on the night shift. In the summer of 84 I lost a bunch of weight .. sweating my butt off , LOL. I never made the union .
@@rockon8174 back at that time , it was difficult to make the union .. they fired people before they could make union. They told me during the last week .. that I was too slow unloading trucks. It was the end of June and I was sweating alot and couldn't go as fast they wanted. They would only give people 4 hrs a night anyway. Everything was different back then unlike today where there are so many jobs open.
@@rockon8174back then there was one position open and 15 applicants. I was a high school student and all conference football player, but they said I wasn't fast enough and one guy beat me out of the job after Christmas... But he was one day shy of making the union, same as me, and thought he had made it and decided to slow down.... They called me in after letting him go. I'm now close to 60c and when I work inside for extra OT I can usually outpace the new generation, it's not like it used to be.
Same here... Trying to play the new Van Halen tape in the boom box irritated the boss but was worth all the batteries it ate up because they wouldn't let you plug it in to the electric.... Now UPS supplies the monstrous stereos for the guys and I'm the one being offended by the foul language.
My husband wants to relocate to Tampa, we are in New Jersey now. Don’t know if it is worth the risk. Could you tell me how long the list is there to be a driver?
Now a UPS and FedEx driver can afford a Business Class ticket. And you only need a high school diploma. A major airline baggage handler could save up for a business class ticket. So many professions pay below minimum wage especially after paying student loans.
Been at Amazon Xl delivery driver ( not vans ) Trucks, for 2 1/2 years only make $20.50 as of Sep 15th.. I could’ve been half way there working at UPS, Just put in my App ( Bye Amazon ) 😂😂😂 Great Videos 🏆
Don't forget that during the Christmas season, it is very hectic and could be overwhelming. I have been a driver helper for a few years. Also, people will follow your truck and try to rob you or just rob you. Is it worth it 😅 Do CDL drivers make more money?
@@Randywithups2 No, we earn more. Sleeper drivers earn almost double a feeder driver. My first year on sleepers I earned 110k. At top rate it'd be around 170k-180k.

So I just applied online for a "seasonal driver" out of curiosity and they want me to come in to test drive for a full time position? Does this sound right? I have a bachelors degree in business & a Class A CDL with no restrictions. I am just wondering if I would start at these low $20's numbers still?
Also I am in central NJ close to NYC, extremely populated area. The seasonal rate is $23 an hour, so the full time driver must be more right? I can earn almost $40 as a CDL class A so i rather not spend 5 years to get to $40 bux an hour if that makes sense.
I’ve got to call out tomorrow because of back injuries (I’ve built houses from 18-28 years old and never had any real problems) I’ve been in preload from 28-31 and I’ve never felt more pain in my life lol especially after having kids too lol but I’d rather be on a roof in July then in that brown hole loading these trucks yes we do earn it
Seems good but you don't have time to enjoy it. Maybe if you get to retirement, but other wise that's rough. I drove railroad crews in between terminals and did that up to 60 hours a week just for 2 or 3 weeks and I thought it was going to kill me. Of course that was a 24 hour a day on call job. Maybe that contributed to wearing me down.
I drove for FedEx Ground and once you get injured you are screwed particularly once you get older. You will not be working 60 hours a week for UPS when you are over 50. It is a physically demanding job that wears you down and eventually breaks you. They don't pay ENOUGH for that. I was working on a new delivery system and they don't care if it makes it easier for drivers.
Hey could you do another video on some information and pay on the 22.4 driver's? Also what your timeline was like to become a regular driver with your own route? Thanks so much for the help!

Depends on your supplement. Most areas you can't transfer, or you have to be "re-hired" except for the areas covered under the Western-Supplement. However as a part-timer you can transfer if you are pursuing a education.
I called the hall directly about this exactly and they told me I’d have to leave my current union and be re-hired at a different union; which, unfortunately, means you could not get hired and lose it completely. I would say have a backup plan setup first and then keep trying to get hired to become a drive again. All-in-all, risky business.

He’s only telling you about the 💰 he left out the constant harassment the forced overtime and by forced you can say no which comes with more harassment you can file grievances to stop the harassment but it doesn’t work. Also I work in a big center that does 50k volume in the off season and up to 100k volume during peak. Retaliation is big at ups you can file retaliation but good luck proving it. Which just puts a bigger target on your back. I guess if you just do your job and lay low and do everything they say they will leave you alone but they always take advantage of those guys in my center.
Also I’m top pay RPCD and they force overtime and Saturdays pretty high up the list. A lot of had to do with are high volume and low staffing. The low staffing is there fault they DQ people for the most petty things and I was told there not going to hire anymore drivers till they know what’s going to happen with the new contract. So until then forced 60 hr weeks
I just do my job usually and get off between 5:30-7 most days occasionally will help if volume or crazy but do your job great and make service and you’ll be just fine

If you can live,, comfortably on what you made when you first started, And bank the rest, Or up your 401k every time you get a raise. You would thank me when you retire. Seen alot of union Brothers in my 35 years spend more because they made more. Not saying you shouldn't reward yourself now and then, For working hard enough, But try to keep it in check. Go Brown !
For sure I have been working hard on all that and think I’ll doing great job! Only difference is cost of living now is way higher than when I started too !!
Thank you for sharing, I respect anyone who works hard ❤
Amazon driver, but its so interesting seeing this from yall perspective !
I know it’s cool hearing from other delivery drivers from different companies!
It should hurt your feelings lol
Here in az just got a job at amazon starting out at 26 an hour. And I get to drive the work van home after work. It's an electric new work van if you can provide changing to the van at your house you can drive it home
That’s awesome!!!!!
$26/hr doing what?
Thanks for the video I see you going places your a smart handsome man also.
I’ve been at UPS for 29 years, 24 as a driver. I hit top pay in 2002 when it was a 2 year progression. Top rate back then was $22.62 an hour.
How you not make union?
Now UPS supplies the monstrous stereos for the guys and I'm the one being offended by the foul language.
probably need to update after all the news!
Fairly easy to make as long as you’re willing to do more OT per day or the OT they give you.
I work at the warehouse in tampa. Man they run us through the wringer lol but the benefits are worth it
My husband wants to relocate to Tampa, we are in New Jersey now. Don’t know if it is worth the risk. Could you tell me how long the list is there to be a driver?
im thinking about getting a side gig as a package handler and then drive eventually.
"Thinking about it"??
Easy to understand in video and thank you. So, I was wondering what about the work schedule? Have to work on the Weekend?
Now a UPS and FedEx driver can afford a Business Class ticket. And you only need a high school diploma. A major airline baggage handler could save up for a business class ticket. So many professions pay below minimum wage especially after paying student loans.
this was a great video, very informative. keep up the great work sky's the limit
Yes for sure thank you for the support!!!
What's the best way to get started as a CDL driver with UPS. I hear that they Only hire from within.Would you have to start not driving a truck?
Been at Amazon Xl delivery driver ( not vans ) Trucks, for 2 1/2 years only make $20.50 as of Sep 15th.. I could’ve been half way there working at UPS, Just put in my App ( Bye Amazon ) 😂😂😂
Great Videos 🏆
An now UPS drivers top out at 49$ hr… with that 5hr and 10hr overtime, BIG 💰
Don't forget that during the Christmas season, it is very hectic and could be overwhelming. I have been a driver helper for a few years. Also, people will follow your truck and try to rob you or just rob you. Is it worth it 😅 Do CDL drivers make more money?
The CDL make the same pay as top driver!
@@Randywithups2 No, we earn more.
Sleeper drivers earn almost double a feeder driver. My first year on sleepers I earned 110k. At top rate it'd be around 170k-180k.
@@stuffandmore5875 💯 facts
Oh gosh man thats not the norm...geez
@@stuffandmore5875i believe he was talking feeder- as they make the same hourly. They make more because they can work more lol sleeper is a whole nother bag of beans..
i went temp/seasonal first to start at 27.14 now i’m 22.4
Nice!!
That intro made me think of the backrooms UPS edition.
Lol
Hey Randy, what's the best way to get a job at UPS? Did you go through the website or job agency?
go to the website and if your in a small town go to a big city you might advance faster
Wow… that is really great! Not an easy job at all but wow, I might need to consider
Good to know thanks for sharing ❤
❤️
Hi , thanks for videos , how many stops usually you have per day ?
The teamster drivers at ups deserve all that & more
Just be careful out there guys.....if you crashing your own car with multiple wrecks in a year. Best not get behind a ups truck. Im just saying. One wreck and your done. They dont play thats stuff.
Awesome videos, just subscribed yesterday lol. One question: Will you or can you get in trouble for making these videos?
Thank you very much!! No I recorded this all on my break and other videos I code out break according to my lunch break and follow ups safety methods!
Hey Randy so would you say the money is good working as a driver for UPS? Also, is it biweekly or what? Thanks.
You get paid every Friday. Not for the week you “just worked” but the previous week.
Did you watch the video? Do you think the money is good??
Wish I could try this type of work, have a injured back unfortunately.
I’ve got to call out tomorrow because of back injuries (I’ve built houses from 18-28 years old and never had any real problems) I’ve been in preload from 28-31 and I’ve never felt more pain in my life lol especially after having kids too lol but I’d rather be on a roof in July then in that brown hole loading these trucks yes we do earn it
I been working with UPS since 1994
I just applied, hopefully I get the job
Seems good but you don't have time to enjoy it. Maybe if you get to retirement, but other wise that's rough. I drove railroad crews in between terminals and did that up to 60 hours a week just for 2 or 3 weeks and I thought it was going to kill me. Of course that was a 24 hour a day on call job. Maybe that contributed to wearing me down.
True true
I drove for FedEx Ground and once you get injured you are screwed particularly once you get older. You will not be working 60 hours a week for UPS when you are over 50. It is a physically demanding job that wears you down and eventually breaks you.
They don't pay ENOUGH for that. I was working on a new delivery system and they don't care if it makes it easier for drivers.
True, the divorce rate among ups drivers is high, so they say.
I’m top rate driver and that’s true.
Youre in great shape. Do you go to the gym. And how do you find time?
just imagine what the semi truck driver make!!
So , the 5th year you go from 28.75 dlls per hour to 41.51 per hour ? Please answer
Hey could you do another video on some information and pay on the 22.4 driver's? Also what your timeline was like to become a regular driver with your own route? Thanks so much for the help!
Yes absolutely I will for sure be making some videos over all this stuff!! Thank you so much for the great questions look forward to making great content!
How long did you have to lump packages before driving?
I went straight into driving!
I’m an Amazon step van or package car driver as you guys call it for almost 2 years now. Do you guys get (FDI) Full day incentive if you finish early?
Some centers have what we call bonus and it may be comparable to that.
Bro did you just apply online or did you go to UPS in person and apply like how was the training and what not love the content man
I applied online!! I will definitely do a video of reviewing all those questions! I greatly appreciate that hope I can make some good content that helps inform you well!! Definitely will do one over all that!
@@Randywithups2 Yoo what a legend you are responding I'm 15 trying to figure out what real world job i want to pursue that doesn't require collage. That pays good.So this is a very tempting idea when I'm old enough . I'm trying the common online ways to make $$$ but i realize i need a real job to support a family. Thanks for replying bro
@@TLEAGLE765 anytime bro!!!
Once you get 17 bro you can work in the warehouse as a package handler. Nice partime, 22 an hr and like 4 hours everyday
you need to apply and work part time in the hub a few years before getting a shot at at becoming a driver. that's in a big hub, but if you are in a small town, we'll good luck driving ever lol
I seen a job posting in my area for freight pick up and delivery its a cdl class A position. I was wondering if thats a union position and if the pay rate is same or less? Anything helps thanks
Sign up now! All union every driver is union
@@AlexMartinez-oq8xu oh nice!! Thanks for the help!!
UPS will use your video to shoot the next contract. “These idiots make 100k, and they’re complaining”. That 100k might turn into 40k. Nonetheless, good video
Lol
@@Randywithups2 I made 135k last year ( sold vacation back ) it's not a secret to Ups how much we make, they pay us!
You guys work hard and deserve whatever you make.
and probably take our 1 hour unpaid lunch away too. Take your lunch break people
hey man great video, thanks for the info. I have a question though. Say I work as a UPS driver for four years in the state I currently live in and I decide to move to another state, can the raise be transferred as well if I’m still a UPS driver in the state I decide to move to?
I think you keep your pay rate but lose all seniority at the new location!! I’m not 100 percent sure but believe that’s it!
Ask for extra hours 😂😂😂😂 I’m forced to work those hours!!!!!
🤣🤣
Just started in NYC the pay was $23/ hr for starters
Is this before or after taxes?
Before taxes
I just turned 20 thinking about applying. Between this or the military. Not enjoying school.
as a Vet do the military 1st and do 2 to 4 years so you have benefits with tje military . then come apply at ups don't come here and think your gonna be making over 100k your 1st year not gonna happen . you wanna start from the bottom and work your way up
@@sychavez7269 yup I’m getting my CDL since the trade program im at just got suspended. I’ve transferred my credits so I can finish my associates online starting next year. I reached out to a high school friend who works at the local Kurig/DrPepper plant in management now and basically got offered a driving job there upon completion of my CDL. With OT I could potentially earn 90K. Pretty good money at my age. Gonna go that route and once I’m done with my degree look upon doing some time in the army.
if you work in Massachusetts's you could not afford much on this pay i know I've been with ups for 30 20 full time inside the hub and its not even enough what i make
Have you ever pick up from stockx or goat
Nope!!
Have other women noticed how handsome UPS drivers are? (Oh this is your personal channel. I thought it was a random video, haha. I was asking the comment section). Be safe out there!!
Rpcd is a. 22.3.
Can someone get in more detail what's a RPCD is?Is it the exact same job but with more years?
So is a cdl license worth it
If you use it..
Read lots of comments but not one in regards to a package car driver making about
150+ Deliveries and pick ups every day.
Why do y’all complain about forced OT…most warehouse jobs it’s forced OT…a ton of it…And don’t get me started on the railroad when on call everyday…The grass isn’t greener on the other side I can promise you
Ups owns the trademarks to that shield. That truck. You can't film using their property. Take it from a guy who knows from learning by fire. Be safe.
With the new contract and raises, top scale payrate is $44.99/hr as of August 2024
stay union strong!!
Do you get weekly paycheck or biweekly?
where can I apply for being an RPC?
Those are disappointing wages considering inflation and the need to be doing overtime in order to live comfortably. Even at 65,000 its a struggle.
You can always just go to college for 4 years and come out making an average of 40-60k entry level unless you’re a stem major; either way gotta pay your dues
can you say about tattoo policy?
Yes I can do a video over that!!
Question boss when does work start picking up, i was offered to stay after my time as a seasonal but was told they would reach out to me once work picks up
It gets busy several times throughout the year!
Appreciate the info I’ll keep my eyes open for job opening
do you needa work in warehouse before transferring to a driver?
most do, it all depends on the hub.
