Black Friday is double time plus 8 hours holiday. So technically it’s around $133 an hour. One year I worked 14 hours because they made me stay and do on call air pickups in town. I made like $1,600 for that one day and bought my wife a stainless steel refrigerator she always wanted lol

$133 an hour is absolutely ridiculous. I’m an Amazon driver based out of Carle Place NY (Long Island). They usually don’t let you work more than four days a week because when you’re an Amazon delivery driver, you’re not actually an employee of Amazon, you’re a contractor. Your third party company can’t afford to pay so much overtime but that doesn’t mean you can never work overtime. During the peak season they let you work five day weeks and when Amazon has their big Prime Day sale they let you work overtime because the volume doubles sometimes.

Very nice 👌 I'm thinking about trying to work for UPS I make good money probably 150k to 200k as a Crane OP in refineries but I'm tired of the 84 hours a week and no beard policy and very strict rules where they can fire you for something so simple....
That money for working 84 hours a week isn’t that great at all. Especially considering on top of that your life is literally taken from you. I wouldn’t work 84 hours a week for 500k
I was making $130,000 CAD as a Technologist. I now work from home with a salary of $83,000. Even though I make less the change to a working from a home office was the best decision I have ever made. I am productive at my job and my mental health has never been better. No overtime which is perfect since I have hobbies after work. I believe office workers that can work from home should to keep traffic off the roads to keep the roads safe and more efficient for workers like UPS.
Whats bull is people with with skills and degrees get less pay. Im talking radiology technician, nurses, respiratory therapist, staticians, electricians, teachers, etc.
I’ve been trying to get on with UPS for awhile now. I deliver for Amazon. I too live in Oklahoma. OKC to be exact. I don’t wanna take a pay cut to work as a package handler for 3-4 years to maybe get picked to be a driver. I know sometimes they hire off street. Especially during peak. Would it best to apply during peak, kill it, roll the dice they keep me? Im late to the delivery game. I wish I had found this profession sooner but I’ve found my passion. Marriage and kids aren’t too far away and wanna be able to provide and support family. Amazon is fine right now but I want more. I know I can do this if given the chance. Only been delivering for about 2 years now but I’m already a lead driver and supervisor. Not a manager yet. Please reach out and give advice and or opinions. Thanks for the video, inspiring. Keep delivering.
good luck trying to be a driver you have to find a busy hub. you will take a pay cut. the odds of you working for ups during the season for Christmas and then keeping you in January is 50-50 . but if your willing to take the pay cut and work part time and work hard then apply warehouse 1st and work your way up.
That’s good money though man, and you don’t have to worry about all the physical labor, driving in traffic all day, drivers earn every penny, it’s all labor and time management.
Great news for drivers. Bad news for customer. As the service rates will also go up. Same thing happened at DHL 20 years ago. Driver got a good raise then a couple years later. Half the drivers were laid off.
As a postal carrier... What. The. F*ck!! I'm wicked jealous. I have worked my way up from CCA (carrier assistant, newbie bottom b!*ch) to regular career carrier for 5yrs now, total time with USPS of 8yrs, and i am only at $27/hr. If you are planning a career at UPS and have or plan to have a family know this….. Financially you will be your family’s hero it at the same time you will continually disappoint them. You will not be home for dinner, you will miss plays, performances, games and the list goes on. Your first rule as a full time employee is do not make plans or commitments M-S. You will only be disappointed
32 years at brown and i couldn't agree more Now I'm retired and living a dream in Florida which despite the weather events we have beats New England any time of year.
brother i did the first day at UPS and its a tough job. preloading is hard man! you wouldnt think because its just putting boxes in trucks right? well it is but you have to keep up with putting these boxes in your truck at an insane rate. and they will give you 2 to 3 trucks to fill. i got 2 my first day and i felt i did pretty bad, but so did everyone else because you cant perfectly put everything in the truck in an orginized manner with the volume of boxes. now if you want to get hired its easy because people quit a lot. i applied online and they scheduled my first day. a couple weeks later we got there for orientation and the people were very chill, the supervisors were very nice. they asked some questions and they said to all 13 of us that were hired. they also said we would be let go if we dont show up to work on time and show up the first 30 working days. they did some half ass trainng, then we watched videos for for the next 2 days. no one was paying attention to the videos, and i was wondering why training was half ass? but the first day i realized why. BECAUSE ITS CONTROLLED CHAOS THE FIRST 2 HOURS, BUT AFTER YOUR FIRST 15 MINUTE BREAK ITS JUST CHAOS. everything you learned, or sorta learned goes out the window because you got 15 packages needing to go on shelfs while the shelfs are full, while theres boxes coming down the line. tough fast paced work, but if you dont live in a rich family to get you into college or something like that this may be your best option. im going to keep trucking along because i dont have any better option right now, and the night schedule works good for me. you will know the first day if you can handle it or not. me being a strong 6ft under 16% body fat guy, i can barely handle it, but i can handle it. oh and icase you were wondering why am i talking about a warehouse job i want to be a truck driver, YOU HAVE TO WORK AT THE WAREHOUSE FOR USUALLY ATLEAST A YEAR TO BECOME A TRUCK DRIVERS.
Now add 15 - 20 hrs ot some weeks. Add up to 30 hours ot week in december and add in holiday pay plus working holidays plus some weekend work which is ot all day.

So why is it auto mechanics pay isn't going up? I've been stuck at $25 hr for the last 10 yrs. For whatever reason, everyone thinks mechanics are making bank. Nope, the place your taking your vehicle is making bank but their mechanic isn't making hardly anything. For how much work I do, on my feet 12 hrs a day, being in the heat or cold, I sure wish I could make a little more.
Bro can you post what you do for recovery??? Like I assume this job is an incredible workout 🏋️♀️ stress on your back etc…do u take ice baths? Meal prep? Etc…
People are SOOO STUPID HERE. Yes $50 an hour for a job that is TIMED and you need to make deliveries on time is actually not that far fetch. They can’t get a paycheck if they sit around. If they do then packages are late and they get fired.
I drive in Ohio, making a little more, but it's about the same. We're getting a 2.75 raise if it passes, but hopefully it doesn't. The new contract is a dumpster fire. It's not about more money either. I've never worked for a company that couldn't care less about their workers and / or their family's. It's all about greed for them now.
Health care, PTO, sick Time 6 weeks paid vacation maxed out 2 weeks pto, health care includes eye and great dental, 20-25 years and you should be able to retire if u want
Was a package car driver for two weeks. 2nd week of driving by myself I was disqualified for calling in for family emergency. Not to mention I didn't even get paid. And no union stuart was present during the dqing process. I filed grievance to return back to my packet, hoping to hear something. Been with ups part time 16.3 y.
For those considering applying heres more you need to know.Everything is seniority. They must hire I believe 6 out of 7 drivers from within. That means you go to the warehouse pt first and there are a whole bunch with more seniority waiting to drive. They go first.Used to be $16.50 now $21. My facility the wait is 3-4 years to drive. Some facilities its 10+ So you wait years to be on your first year driving. Its not start and 4 years later in most cases you are at $100k+ Pt Warehouse workers need a second job to survive.Oh and that outsider they hire to drive can be a managers kid,non union supervisor that wants to drive or someone with a good connection.Just things to really consider.99% of drivers worked their way up and earned it and were not off street hires. They put a lot of years in to get that
Hey man. I’m in Huntsville, AL and just got started following you. I got laid off my desk job 3 months ago and really want to get on at UPS as a driver. Do I have to start in the warehouse before I move to driver? If not, do I just stalk the website until a position opens up and cross my fingers? Any help would be great!!!!
me personally I would move to a bigger city so you can advance faster. I started in the warehouse working midnight till 4 am part time and after a year I applied for package driver for the Christmas season. I did that for 3 and 1/2 months and they sent me back to the warehouse. last year in In spring they called me again for package driver I said no. but I still was in warehouse part time. then they called for Feeder driver at a big hub and I said yes. took me about 2 years and I'm in Chicago. if I were you find the air port hub by you because it's gonna be busy start from the bottom and work your way up. if you get accepted now for package driver remember your probably a seasonal driver and come January they let you go or keep you its a 50/50 chance you stay on a driver that's why I went warehouse because if I did seasonal and they don't keep well I'm still at ups. don't go to a small hub ask drivers where you live where is the biggest hub by you. good luck and don't rush the money will come.
If contract pass this aug 22nd all the 22.4 driver become regular package driver that mean will take longer time to call you up to take class and 30 days probation
Depends alot on ur location, I'm a feeder driver here in Chicago (Cach) and from what I heard we maybe the second biggest location in the US behind Louisville, KY. We always hiring most of the time, mainly sleeper teams starting out.
you can't work 60 hours a week because that 60 hours has to include unpaid lunches. in my area the theoretical maximum is 58 hours (57:59:56) a week. which is 4 7:59:59 days without lunches and 2 14 hour days each with an unpaid lunch hour.
Good for you guys! You work hard for the money. I thought I had a good job (federal law enforcement), but ups is making me re think this. Wondering what the benefits are like working for ups? Pension, 401k, health care, etc...?
Now let somebody come in here and say unions are bad. They probably already did. Top out in 4 years? That is awesome. I did 30 years as a city carrier with USPS.
What’s the best path to get hired as a UPS driver? Should you start out as a package handler, or is it possible to get hired without currently working for UPS?
Most everyone starts out as a part time employee. At my center I’ve seen people go driving in as little as 6 months and as long as 6 years. It took me 5+ years to go full time. I’m 29 years into this career and I am eligible to retire in 15 months. Good pay, good pension, great health insurance. UPS pushes its employees very hard. Long days are very common. Good luck if you decide to give it a go.
In my area they just opened a new automated hub 4th biggest. We are running but it’s still under construction. I worked for them about 8 years ago. The driver situation is tricky moved a lot of routes from different hubs so the drivers came too. Still waiting it’s only been a few weeks but the current drivers say at the beginning of the year I may have some luck.
Ya. Full time… A guy in my area (not a huge city either) has been part time for 7 years… trying to go full time. He finally said screw it. Was tired of working all the overtime hours anyway…
you guys are winning in life! it took me 8 years and 50k in student loans to become a transportation engineer, I work about 50 hours a week and I am still trying to make it to 100k
Good video ! Is that pay scale country wide or do different regions pay different. Like say OK where you are vs NYC or LA . Thanks ... wife and I might be relocating to try starting this career.
Nationwide pay scale. Very few markets have slightly higher so i would expect these rates. Not going to happen overnight, 5 years minimum to reach these rates from start of employment and them jumping through the hoops. By then we'll be in a new contract and receive even higher wages
I’m not sure it will last, just today I ordered a part and shipping from ups was 36.99 and fedex was 8.99, guess who I went with, You won’t get paid well if you’re laid off because there’s no packages for you to deliver!
I’m in Cali . We get cola raises so will be over 50 . We get double time if we come on days off . You can also come in on your vacations at times . You can make some crazy money at ups
UPS IS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR . DAILY PAID OT . WORKERS DONT QUIT THERE THEY RETIRE FROM THERE. AND 💯 COMPANY PAID INSURANCE. SO U GET TO KEEP MORE MONEY IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT

Thanks for being transparent, really informative.
Yes. It was the same story when I started at UPS in 1984
I am also a sleeper team feeder driver the money is great by no means but last year I paid 43,000 in taxes don’t leave taxes out of the pay
The baby UPS shirt is the cutest ever.
No it isn’t
You doing a good job man....I need that new driver new pay scale video. I'm 39 and I been on my job 19 years. I'm ready to leave.
Damn u almost retiring
Ups is the best delivery job company . Amazon is terrible
Unless you can work in the hub almost zero chance you will be taken on as a driver
Most people could not handle the workload of a UPS Driver.
I agree, which would account for maybe 1000 people I saw in my 32 years that couldn't do it.
😮
I should have been a UPS driver.
I am an electrical engineer, 15yrs, and my base is 120k, no OT. In Oregon.
That’s good money though man, and you don’t have to worry about all the physical labor, driving in traffic all day, drivers earn every penny, it’s all labor and time management.
One thing for sure, folks are going to start looking at UPS drivers an entirely different light.
Money talks folks...
I just passed the drivers test I start on the 7th I’m nervous
Thank you for the video.
What are the requirements for a UPS driver? I'm in Virginia
I see UPS is hiring seasonal drivers now in my area. Is this the best way ro become a full time driver? Any suggestions?
You won’t, you have to work in a warehouse first
People complain about the money I make but they don’t realize we work 7 days a week 12 hours a day
Anyone can do that with no wife , kids , an living for free in ur moms basement
Great news for drivers. Bad news for customer. As the service rates will also go up. Same thing happened at DHL 20 years ago. Driver got a good raise then a couple years later. Half the drivers were laid off.
Us at USPS deserve a raise! This is nuts. Must be nice lol
DANG! UPS making that bag! Nice!
Shoulda went to UPS was a kid instead of the ungrateful place that just laid me off for 20 years.
I agree if UPS can pay their drivers like this and make profit.. shame on other Companies paying their employees slightly above minimum wage.
Don’t be in debt and you’ll enjoy your career here point blank period!!!!
$50 an hour? Sheeeeit! New crib, new Bentley, Rolls Royce and some other shit!
As a postal carrier... What. The. F*ck!! I'm wicked jealous. I have worked my way up from CCA (carrier assistant, newbie bottom b!*ch) to regular career carrier for 5yrs now, total time with USPS of 8yrs, and i am only at $27/hr. Our max pay is after being a regular for 15yrs. Might have to throw on some brown and go to town.
No wonder you're always such a happy dude. Making fat stacks out there. I'm putting in an application over the weekend. Any tips on how to get hired?
brother i did the first day at UPS and its a tough job. preloading is hard man! you wouldnt think because its just putting boxes in trucks right? well it is but you have to keep up with putting these boxes in your truck at an insane rate. and they will give you 2 to 3 trucks to fill. i got 2 my first day and i felt i did pretty bad, but so did everyone else because you cant perfectly put everything in the truck in an orginized manner with the volume of boxes. now if you want to get hired its easy because people quit a lot. i applied online and they scheduled my first day. a couple weeks later we got there for orientation and the people were very chill, the supervisors were very nice. they asked some questions and they said to all 13 of us that were hired. they also said we would be let go if we dont show up to work on time and show up the first 30 working days. they did some half ass trainng, then we watched videos for for the next 2 days. no one was paying attention to the videos, and i was wondering why training was half ass? but the first day i realized why.
I’d love a video on the hiring process
There is none. 😂 most likely for drivers though.
He made a video where he’s crapping in the toilet and wiping with them Benjamin’s
Man this makes my 29.87 working in a Maximum security prison look like nothing. Granted ususally work 90-100 hours a week and make around 150-170k a year but man if I did that with UPS pay now.
Shit I'm a dialysis tech in health care and made 27hr. I left that toxic work environment. I gotta take my road test for ups 23hr seasonal and being considered for FedEx express for 24.61hr. I don't know what to pick. I also applied at corrections for 29.64hr. Idk wtf to do 😂😭🙃
If a company can afford to pay their workers this much money then great. It’s not rocket science. For all the haters, be mad at yourself for choosing the wrong career, lol. I ain’t even a UPS driver either.
lol i chose IT.. i'm about to switch to brown.. 🤣
I’m a new subscriber. Your videos are great! UPS is lucky to have you
I have electrician friends that make around $180,000 annually and they don't work nearly as hard and long hours as UPS drivers
What’s your point though?
That’s good for them! Hbu??
😂🤣 I kno I DoorDash make nothing but hell I’m loved big family happy as hell two cars own house beautiful girl
This is a video explaining what UPS drivers make…not electricians😐
And they won’t have pensions that ups drivers have, when they retire.
Bro can you post what you do for recovery??? Like I assume this job is an incredible workout 🏋️♀️ stress on your back etc…do u take ice baths? Meal prep? Etc…
Yes I’ll post that soon!!
That is excellent!!! Congratulations!
People are SOOO STUPID HERE. Yes $50 an hour for a job that is TIMED and you need to make deliveries on time is actually not that far fetch.
They can’t get a paycheck if they sit around. If they do then packages are late and they get fired.
Don’t forget 55k In benefits
I drive in Ohio, making a little more, but it's about the same. We're getting a 2.75 raise if it passes, but hopefully it doesn't. The new contract is a dumpster fire. It's not about more money either. I've never worked for a company that couldn't care less about their workers and / or their family's. It's all about greed for them now.
That's the union baby.
There are limits on what the union can do for a driver in their packet.
Respect to y’all union. I’m a mail carrier for usps and we aren’t even close to y’all’s pay and this shit sad. Time to jump ship 🤷🏽♂️
Some facilities its 10+
So you wait years to be on your first year driving. Its not start and 4 years later in most cases you are at $100k+
Pt Warehouse workers need a second job to survive.Oh and that outsider they hire to drive can be a managers kid,non union supervisor that wants to drive or someone with a good connection.Just things to really consider.99% of drivers worked their way up and earned it and were not off street hires. They put a lot of years in to get that
What about their cdl trucking, is it just as a pain to get hired with them ?
I looked check in Nashville or if you are will too move and work hard go to Louisville KY that's the biggest hub
Depends if your city is hiring
How much will part time drivers make in 5 years ?
you can't work 60 hours a week because that 60 hours has to include unpaid lunches. in my area the theoretical maximum is 58 hours (57:59:56) a week. which is 4 7:59:59 days without lunches and 2 14 hour days each with an unpaid lunch hour.
You have terrible math
We work 70 in CA and wave the lunchs but must note as on duty.also Canadian owned is nice we are treated pretty nicely.
Great vid Randy!
I work hvac, that’s how much a top guy gets paid , I’m quitting the trade
LMFAO!!
Very Hard to get hired. Where I live it seems they never hire
Good for you guys! You work hard for the money. I thought I had a good job (federal law enforcement), but ups is making me re think this.
Wondering what the benefits are like working for ups? Pension, 401k, health care, etc...?
why not going to feeder driver u can make so much as a package truck....
Now let somebody come in here and say unions are bad. They probably already did. Top out in 4 years? That is awesome. I did 30 years as a city carrier with USPS.
Holy crap I’m in the wrong business lol
Wow, UPS has changed since I worked there as a driver in the 90’s, we didn’t have time to be sitting around recording videos.
That’s really good money man! I make $86k as a Class A Truck Driver, so you pretty much make the same money I make, if not more.
WOW! How do you apply for an UPS driving job. Have class A Commerical drivers License.
Where are you located?
Take it of UA-cam!
Cincinnati
In my area they just opened a new automated hub 4th biggest. We are running but it’s still under construction. I worked for them about 8 years ago. The driver situation is tricky moved a lot of routes from different hubs so the drivers came too. Still waiting it’s only been a few weeks but the current drivers say at the beginning of the year I may have some luck.
I’ve been there a year and watched over
5 people quit day 1 and probably 20 after a few days. It can be hard mentally physically little bit
Ya. Full time… A guy in my area (not a huge city either) has been part time for 7 years… trying to go full time. He finally said screw it. Was tired of working all the overtime hours anyway…
I’ve been trying but I have clue where to apply just to get into ups and after1 or 2 years , then become a driver
you guys are winning in life! it took me 8 years and 50k in student loans to become a transportation engineer, I work about 50 hours a week and I am still trying to make it to 100k
I'm a trucker 2 weeks of education and I make 150k a year Monday to Friday came to the USA no English
@@gst4043 How did you get into the US? I'd love to relocate but it seems impossible to get a visa
@@renegadenine bro I'm Puerto Rican we born with US citizen
That’s dope I’m tryna get into the trucking driving
Why go to université
Oh it has its UPS and downs 😂
Love the intro! 🎼🕺🏻
I’m glad you guys are making good money, milk UPS for all their worth.
I’m 28 working hard since high school and people making that much while I’m Stuck at 30k a year makes me even more depressed then I already am
well it's time to change jobs you think. your still young come over and work warehouse and get on the list to drive.
You should work preload work another job until your time you can go school pass your probation
Go sell cars at a dealership you’ll make this much with no wear and tear on your body
Keep your head up bro. The grass in Not always green on the other side. Focus and invest In your self. Fuck what every one else is doing
@@sychavez7269 How do you get on the list to drive, Do you need a cdl license?
I’m in Cali . We get cola raises so will be over 50 . We get double time if we come on days off . You can also come in on your vacations at times . You can make some crazy money at ups
California 100k is pennies! Specially in the bay area.
@@gryoda3483yeah the life hack is not living in Cali ..
Thanks for making this so simple
Are you on the 9.5 list?
Yes
UPS IS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR . DAILY PAID OT . WORKERS DONT QUIT THERE THEY RETIRE FROM THERE. AND 💯 COMPANY PAID INSURANCE. SO U GET TO KEEP MORE MONEY IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT
I just got done taking care of my dad so I'm trying to get a job with UPS. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
