I never comment but I just wanted to say your video really helped me. I was suffering from extremely dry and bumpy eyelids for about 2 months. I was constantly putting Vaseline which would calm it down but never cure it. After your video I decided to look at other stuff I used and believed it was my metal eyelash curler I cleaned it before every use and seen results seriously within days and now my eyelids are no longer dry. I have dry eye lids on and off for almost 10 years, but in the past it went away after 2 weeks and I only had it once a year (in spring). Now for a about 2-3 years I have it constantly (in summer, autumn, winter, spring is still the worst tho). I went to a dermatologist 3 years ago who suggested I had an allergy to pollen or dust. He made a blood test and it turned out I have a high risk for the suggested allergies, but I didn't have them (yet). He gave me a cream with cortisone and it helped soo much. I suddenly didn't have this problem for a year, then a year later it came back and I bought the same cream again, but it didn't work anymore. Now I have this problem again for 2 years constantly. I don't do anything to my nails, I don't wear make up, I tried not wearing any metalls, I don't have any eye drops, no glasses, I also tried not using any creams or cleansers. I tried not sleeping on a pillow but on a towel. I don't know anymore. The only thing that I recently noticed that helps me ease the pain is vaseline. I wish I knew what the cause is, but nothing makes sense...
For 8 months I was dealing with this until someone mentioned to me that it might be my nails. I had switched from gel to dip powder. As soon as I had dip powder removed, my eyes cleared up. I never would have imagined that’s what was causing it because, like you said, I had no rash on my hands.
I started using Vaseline on a dry spot on my eyelid & now it’s 10x WORSE. Something else must be going on. Eyelids are now swollen & I look 102 years old lol
@@Crappybara.-.yes I had dry skin on my eyelids maybe eyelid dermatitis from a reaction to something so I put Vaseline thinking it would help with the dryness now I have blepharitis
I noticed some dry patches on my eyelids recently. I thought it was eczema as I am prone to that. Anyway, got the Aveeno Baby Eczema cream. It only takes a tiny bit and so far so good. I’ve been using it a couple weeks now right before bed and I see and feel a definite improvement. I think it will be gone completely soon. I started using this just above my upper lip and it’s improving the dryness there too.
This happens to me once winter hits. Petrolatum is my SAVIOR!! I glob that stuff all over my eyes at night and thankfully I don’t have a flare up currently!
an eye cream destroyed my lids 3 years ago (I'm still reactive to this day). Then after that tears...if you're already irritated tears will wreck your poor eyelids. My eyes open sometimes when I sleep and it pools, and will be super irritated and puffy in the morning. I have to use vaseline so the tears don't come into contact too much or I'm back to square one.
For me it is Cerave Foaming Cleanser for normal to oily skin I had use it for 25 - 30 yrs than in the fall of 2019 my eyes blew up. My eyelids were red and itchy and swollen. I don’t know if Cerave changed any ingredients due to the pandemic I did call them but the girl I spoke to didn’t really know. My Allergist said nothing in Cerave should cause this to happen but every time I use it, it is sure to happen.
Same! I’ve been using it for years and the last new bottle I bought irritates my eyes! My dermatologist said it could be something that was used to make the product, not the ingredients, i.e., the chemicals used on the container. 😢
My husband has this right now. We live in Maine, so it's easy to sort out a familiar weather induced dry skin from a reaction. I'm thinking we overlooked the material on some new work gloves. Thank you so much!!!!
Unrelated to eyelids…I watched Dr Dray’s skincare routine video where she discusses using Panoxyl (benzoyl peroxide) as an underarm wash. WOW! I washed with panoxyl under my armpits, let the solution sit for 2-5 min and rinsed off for only a few days, and now I have no BO. I swear, I’d never heard this advice before and it was like magic. I have been testing natural deodorant and by the end of the day I would always have a foul smell under my arms. Now there’s no smell at all! Seriously amazing. I want to tell all my friends but I don’t want them to think I think they have BO. Lol
@@JordanStar7 yes! Massage it under your arms when you first get into the shower, let it sit while you wash the rest of your body/hair and rinse it off at the end. I also wash my hands (in the shower) after applying it and before washing other sensitive parts in case it’s too harsh.
I was just thinking of solutions for the dry, crusty and flaky area around my eyes that appeared in this cold weather !! Just in time Dr. Dray!!! Thank you! !

I have ocular rosacea and this has caused me to have many eye surgeries. Taking 7 different prescription eye drops, exacerbates my dry lids. I use hygienic eyelid wipes to reduce the irritation.
I’ve been trying to get a referral to a dermatologist for months. My primary dr sent me to an ophthalmologist. He gave me an antibiotic/steroid cream. He said I didn’t need the antibiotic but my insurance only covers that specific one. I stopped wearing makeup and am very careful. I never get it on both eyes at the same time but it does switch eyes. I end up wearing my glasses even if I don’t need them to cover the redness.
You should've mentioned that cyanoacrylate is often used for lash extensions. I got allergic to cyanoacrylate when I had lash extensions. It was ok for 6 months but then, boom... It was horrible!
There's a UK based company that does a lot of at home devices. They have a gold leaf skin care treatment. You put on the sheets of gold leaf on your face, wait about 15-25 mins, put on a few drops of your favorite serum on top of it, then rub it in until the gold leaf disappears. This is supposed to be for glowy, conditioned skin... It's about four thousand dollars.
I noticed that my eyelids were finally starting to get better and then I used my lubricating eye drops and woke up with dry and flaky eyelids again. So thank for this video because I think I just diagnosed my issue. 🙏
Dr Dray, your video has helped me narrow down and ease my eye lid irritation. Mine started with eye drops I used three months ago. Followed by an eye drop anti biotic I had to use after a nasty eye ball scratch I had. Followed by my very expensive pre cleanse and facial cleanser. I’m now using vanacream cleanser and moisturizer, per your recommendation. So far, so good. The swelling, angry red, burning is gone. If it returns, I have made an appointment with my doctor. Fingers crossed that I can cancel that appointment. 🤞🏻
Could you demonstrate proper cleansing & moisturizing eyelids-and also how/where to place the gasoline if one needs that for a while? Maybe you did this on another vid, I’ll have to look! Many thanks

I contracted a dry right eyelid due to pollen and dust in my yard. Also I believe the cause was due to cleaning my ear wax on the same side with hydrogen peroxide...then white vinegar rinse thus sleeping on the same side while my lid rubbed against the pillow and the eye drainage..it took me awhile to figure it out.. Resolve.. I continued to rinse it with warm to cool water.. I also immediately threw away my mascara and chose to avoid any soap on the lid.. I also rubbed it with coconut oil.. it healed.. thank you for sharing your video..
@Dr Dray, I have eyelid dermatitis and have tried vaseline to my eyelids several times. Each time I try, it seems to exacerbate the problem and make my eyelids redder and drier! Have you come into this problem before? Do you have any advice?
I used a new cream eyeshadow and my skin became so dry it looks like I aged 90 years, I am 25. It hurts so much to close my eyes and there are flakes everywhere. Washed my face many times, applied castor oil and Cera ve moisturizer. It is getting bigger slowly 🐌 This is why I don't wear makeup 😥
This works! I have terribly dry skin for a few years now since being perimenopausal. Prior to that it was the polar opposite and was really oily. I’d much rather have that problem than dry skin. I didn’t want to use my facial cream on my eyelids. And I’m allergic to everything anyways and I have exzema. I had Aquaphor on hand, however I am not allergic to it. I have been using it and Vaseline for years and it worked like a charm. It was very soothing and my eyelid skin went from feeling like a really bad wind burn to back to normal.
Your content this year is amazing! Btw I loved the addition of adding laundry detergents and towels to your shop with me vids! A dedicated shop with me vid on this would be useful for viewers that are new here! Love you Dr Dray, have a great day🤪
It’s so odd lately everything I have been dealing with, Dr Dray makes a video about. My eye lids are killing me lately. One wrong move and it’s a disaster I can get under control.
Thank you for this information I have been dealing with dry, itchy, burning crappy crusty eyelids. I don't have contacts but have been using drops, hot eye mask, eye gels that are natural ingredients. Been dealing with this for 4 months now and it's been frustrating.
My eyes have been so sore and itchy the past week I've stopped almost all my skin care trying to find what's irritating my eyes. I don't have a rash but my lower lash line is red and the outer corners also and my eyes itchy and sore, I've even been using Vaseline around my eyes and still something is irritating them, but after watching this I think it might be the lavender pillow spray my husband got me for Christmas 😅
Have been through eyelid dermatitis several times. Hooded eyes don’t help especially with irritants. Glitter eyeshadow can do it especially with the skin on skin contact. I wonder if natural hair eye brushes can cause allergies? Can you be allergic to the animal who provided the hair? I’ve heard that natural hair brushes are more problematic because the hair fibers break and irritate your eyelids.
Wow, this is a particularly timely video! Every January when the weather is at its coldest, I get itchy, dry eyelids. However, my husband’s lids swell up terribly and he looks like he’s been in a fight. Turned out he somehow developed a tear duct malfunction, so every morning he has to use a warm, damp washcloth on his eyes EVERY morning for at least 20 minutes! Plus, he has to wear wraparound sunglasses whenever he leaves the house.😢
I started using a new eye drop and a new concealer, and something is bothering my lower lids. This is so timely as it’s also so cold her in CT. Watching with Vaseline under my eyes! 👀
Omg thanks I've never had such dry eyelids in my life I'm having really bad self esteem due to it I really think it was this eyeshadow product and brushes I bought at a dollor store
One additional step for eyelid healing was to wear white cotton gloves to bed to kinda-sorta put the brakes in rubbing and itching my eyelids in my sleep. Anytime I'd start rubbing my eyelids , I'd realize I had my gloves on and realize I am not supposed to touch my eyelids... :)

Mine wasn’t listed here and it was from using Diferin even though I put it nowhere near my eyes. I was putting it on at night and then it transferred from my pillow to my eyelids while I slept!
Likewise! Suddenly became sensitized to drug store brand adapalene (Differin) after years problem-free. Did not use around my eyes, either. Really miserable! Wishing you well!
Happy Tuesday Andrea! My eyes and eyelids became super dry after having cataract surgery a few years ago.I don't have contact dermatitis but, I'm going to start using Vaseline on my eyelids anyway.Thank you!💖
Another possibility could be face masks! The past several months I’ve had intermittent dry red patches under my eyes and in the corners of my mouth. I work in healthcare and I wonder if wearing an N95 all day has something to do with it. I only use Cerave but I am considering just stopping washing my face all together for a week and see what happens. My dermatologist gave me a mild steroid cream which helped after a two week course but then came back few weeks later. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks for the videos👍🏻
Thank you so much for all the helpful info. Never heard of Vaseline on dry eye lids but will try. I have been cleaning businesses professionally for decades and pretty much the same products and lifestyle and my diet has changed due to acute pancreatitis to eat healthier and less carbs. I feel the dryness in my eyes and my eye lids get swollen and itchy. They never have before. But I will try the Vaseline. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for talking about this! I finally got a patch test done and will be starting Dupixent. Could you possibly share your thoughts on this medication? Please and thank you!
Hi! I am currently suffering with dry patches under my eyes. I dont have any known allergies, i was told this could also be bc of weather change or excema (i am 27 i have not been diagnosed for excema but maybe i have developed it?) Thank you for all of this info!!
I've had patch testing done on the back. Since eyelid skin is different, is it possible that there is a negative for a certain allergen on the back, but it still could irritate the eyelids? I had eyelid dermatitis for more than a year straight. Dont know what was causing it, i did use protopic earlier and it didnt help, but it helped after a year. I wonder if there was something I was using that I stopped using around that time, which resolved the dermatitis along with protopic.
Hi Dr. Dray, I get seborrheic dermatitis in my T-zone and I recently had a flare up due to change in climate. Could this affect my eyelids and undereyes. They look a little red, feel tight and are a bit chaffed. Should i still use petrolatum there? Also, another updated seb derm video would be greatly appreciated if you get the chance!
I am a 65 year old male whom for the last two years have the crusty eye lid but have psoriasis on my knuckles and elbows. This is horrible pain and my eye doctor said use Thera tears in the day and Genteal tears at night.Been on it for quite a while and doesn't do nothing. Love to know what else I can use? Help!.
I started using differin gel and it’s been making my eye lids and the corners of my eyes very dry and peeling. But it’s been getting rid of my acne . I don’t know what to don
For me it's pollen, when I cut the grass or garden next day I wake and my eyelids and often skin too get really dry and then the eyelids swell up, eyes aren't always irritated (ironically) but it can last days
I was applying castor oil on my eyebrows and eyelashes. But after 3 weeks, it started to dry my eyebros and eyelids And my eyes would get swollen from it so i had to stop this week😐
Two big fixes I learned: (1) double cleanse to remove *all* makeup at night - I recommend Curel Makeup Cleansing oil and Vanicream Gentle cleanser (2) dab some Aquaphor on and around your eyelids post-cleanse, and on days you aren't wearing makeup/sunscreen
I appreciate this! I'm planning on a dermatologist visit this spring but I've had dermatitis on my lids and around my eyes for over 15 years now. To the point of bleeding. Recently I started using eyelid wipes and some aquaphor. I will try the plain vasoline though.
Thank you for this information!! I’ve been having alot of eye problems lately and really can’t figure out what’s going on! But now I think I can do some things to help myself get over this problem! I sleep with an eye mask on every night! I have a few and rotate them out and wash them . But now I’m thinking that is my problem! Maybe its my detergent affecting that delicate skin
I get contact dermatitis on my eyelids from my cat and use the Aveeno Restorative Skin Therapy Itch Relief Balm with Pramoxine, it has been a lifesaver.
Hi Dr. Dray! I woke up with contact dermatitis on my eyes this morning. 😫 I suspect it’s my new Kristen Ess Fragrance Free shampoo and conditioner since a lot of hair products seem to trigger my flare ups. Do you have any recommendations for shampoos for sensitive folks?
Vanicream has a line of products that is fragrance-free and free of most irritants. Even hairspray, which is often loaded with fragrance. I highly recommend.

2022 is DR DRAY’s year… shez really uping her style game.. i mean look at her she looks so stylish beautiful dresses and jewelry and glowing skin.. her hair looks great too but i wish she would try different hairstyles as well. I am sure it will look amazing on her💖💖🌸🌸
Mine wasn’t listed here and it was from using Diferin even though I put it nowhere near my eyes. I was putting it on at night and then it transferred from my pillow to my eyelids while I slept!
Likewise! Suddenly became sensitized to drug store brand adapalene (Differin) after years problem-free. Did not use around my eyes, either. Really miserable! Wishing you well!
Exactly ! I was searching for this comment . Im experiencing the same thing and that's a deffirine side affect . Im curious does your eyelid healed?
@@sondesboudhib8481 yes! Mine healed but required that I stop using Diferin entirely. I think it was about 2 weeks.
@@DS-rm7px thank u for your answer , i guess i have to stop using it too
@@sondesboudhib8481 definitely but see a dermatologist. They’ll give you something else for your acne.
Happy Tuesday Andrea! My eyes and eyelids became super dry after having cataract surgery a few years ago.I don't have contact dermatitis but, I'm going to start using Vaseline on my eyelids anyway.Thank you!💖
O my gosh USE COCONUT OIL NOT PROTROLEM 😱
Another possibility could be face masks! The past several months I’ve had intermittent dry red patches under my eyes and in the corners of my mouth. I work in healthcare and I wonder if wearing an N95 all day has something to do with it. I only use Cerave but I am considering just stopping washing my face all together for a week and see what happens. My dermatologist gave me a mild steroid cream which helped after a two week course but then came back few weeks later. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks for the videos👍🏻
Dr. Dray what do you think about stopping face wash in these cold months when I’m not really getting sweaty?
I just started to deal with this and grateful for this information. Thank you 🙏🏼
Hi Dr. Dray! Can it just occur as a reaction to the colder weather?
I think so, since I get this every single, dingle January!🤦♀️
Can it be from the cold weather? The heat in the house? Washing eye make off with perhaps a harsher cleanser?
Hi! I am currently suffering with dry patches under my eyes. I dont have any known allergies, i was told this could also be bc of weather change or excema (i am 27 i have not been diagnosed for excema but maybe i have developed it?) Thank you for all of this info!!
Thank you, Dra Dray!!! 🙏🌟🦋
Love petroleum. I use it on my skin as needed. And eye lids. Especially in winter. 😀
Can you get patch tested if your skin is completely covered in tattoos?
Very interesting! I use Vaseline over my eye cream, lips and around nostrils to prevent irritation from my tret
Love your earrings today Dr. Dray! 😍 Fragrance is awful on my skin. Strong perfumes make my eyes water just smelling them without even wearing them. 😵
Happy Tuesday, Dr. Dray 🤍✨🌸🎀😊
Greetings Maricel Gundayao hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
Happy Tuesday
@@whitneybrown4067 Hello Whitney & Happy Tuesday. Have a great day 😊💕
I don’t know what to don
do *
I had the same exact issue, so i started applying alot of moisturizer with differin
oh no could one brand i use that cause that to my eyes ! Thank you Dr Dray for the advise
10days later and i still have them irritated and dry. And i dont even apply skincare products there.. eyelids even burn when i apply moisturizer
@@joselineya hey
Are you okay now
Can you tell me some remedy
I'm also suffering from same😫😫
Great video. Some eye drops come in a preservative free single use vial.
This video was immensely helpful!! Thank you, Dr. Dray,💕!
Very helpful 👍🏼 I always suffer from eyelid itch
Thanks 😊
Thanks so much that’s super helpful your really sweet too🎉
I have very dry skin around my mouth chin area. Is it okay to moisturize throughout the day or will this disrupt my sunscreen?
I'm suffering from same😫
Are you okay now
Thanks Dr. Dray! Very helpful!
Two big fixes I learned:
(1) double cleanse to remove *all* makeup at night - I recommend Curel Makeup Cleansing oil and Vanicream Gentle cleanser
(2) dab some Aquaphor on and around your eyelids post-cleanse, and on days you aren't wearing makeup/sunscreen
does contact with acrylate copolymers trigger dermatitis?
Hi when I use vaseline around my eyes they get red, swollen, and itchy would La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm work better?
You are the best doctor Dray.🙏❤️🤗
Do Gua Sha and face rollers work?
Perfect timing! I was just wondering why I keep getting dry eyelids. Thanks Dr x
love this video dr dray!
Thanks!
Hi Dr.
I believe she's recommended Seen products. Also, she's a big fan of function of beauty.
Good information ✨. Thanks Dr. Dray and have a nice week.
Hello!
Good video!
Could you talk about nails fungus and treatments?
Thanks!!
Thank you Dr. Dray. what a timely video! I have this I believe from chemical peels, so I cannot wear eyeshadow or my eye becomes itchy and my eye develops goopy stuff.. not good..
I appreciate this info.
What do you think about retinol Paula's Choice products for anti aging ? Thanks for your answer
She's recommended one of their retinol products in her body retinols video. But you could just do a search, dr dray paula's choice, and see what comes up.
Hi Dr Dray! What do you think about the new Necessaire Deodorant Gel? Thanks!!
