My partner often reminds me that jealousy exhibited by a previous partner broke up the relationship. I can feel her demeanor change when I ask about her interactions with other females. Yes, of course, there have been instances of jealousy on my part and without going into lengthy discussions on those two occasions, I felt I had an honest to goodness reason to question the situations. Both times my feelings for minimized I was also told that I'm overly jealous and I express jealousy quite often and for no reason. I was never asked what about the situation caused me to feel jealousy. My feelings were overlooked. That left me questioning the situations even more so. I wanted to get clarification and ended up with more confusion. However, when she expresses jealousy I do not call it out only if she starts making comments about the individual that are untrue but I don't call it jealousy and i think of it as the same feelings I've had that. What baffles me the most is that she doesn't understand that she is doing the same thing and makes me feel like she's suspicious of my friendships or acquaintances or just talking to people in general, sometimes, not all the time.
