I bought this Denon 3600h and within a week I had swapped it over for the Denon 6500, because of lockdown I was able to have an extended audition and after 3 months of ownership I was fortunate enough to be able to return this one as well. I can see why Denon is so popular with their fancy graphics, heos app, easy setup and of course the ease of use of interacting with! But if there's one thing Denon does well, is being able to search out your weak links in ones setup and making them become apparent!
So thanks Denon I love my new 'shielded speaker cables'! 😃

in my opinion, the Denon receiver sounds the best in the middle segment, the main mid bass sounds great, especially movies the yamaha onkyo sounds very bright

you would have been a big help to me, if I had seen this video before I setup my Denon 3600h
I got the SONY 7.2-STR 1080 as well as the DENON 9.2-X3600h and i must say, i can see why people love denon with it's features and HEOS app, but the bottom line is, even though the DENON has a bigger soundstage, for me it comes with a slight electrical distortion which sits just on top of it's audio! Once you realise it's there and it's never going away, well it's time to put the sony back in, isn't it!
In my opinion SONY's audio got a kind of a richness to it's sound in comparison with DENON and more importantly a far more cleanliness to it's audio aswell!
Conclusion.
If your the type of person who likes to fiddle around while watching movies, then go with the DENON, (because of it's brilliant heos app) but if your the type to envelop one's self into a movie's pretty good clean soundtrack then go with the SONY!

Hi Technotin. Great video. I'm thinking of getting a Denon AVR-X3600H myself, but just have a question as I haven't been able to find any source to tell me. Are you able to listen to music via HEOS while simultaneously watching a video source such as a PS4, cable TV (set top box), Apple TV etc, at the same time. Obviously no sound from the video source though. The manual shows the following but it's a bit contradictory.
"This unit can display video from a different source on TV during audio playback. You can set this for each input source.
Supported input sources: CD * Tuner / HEOS Music / Phono
* This cannot be set when any of the HDMI, component video or video connectors are assigned."
Would you mind trying it and let me know? I used to be able to watch TV from my set top box while listening to music streaming via Spotify with my really old Yamaha Receiver, and would love to do the same with the Denon.

Yes you can, just press the option button on the remote control, a quick menu will appear on the screen, select "video select" and "source" that's all, quick and easy

Can Denon AVR-X3600H be coupled with B&W MT-50 (M1 Satellite's max power handling is rated at 100W, whereas X3600H's power output is 105W per Channel)?
MAX power handling is just that MAX, so unless you turn the volume up to max to use all of the 105W then there is no risk in damaging your speakers.
Is the HDR10+ a big feature that they missed off or is it not that big of a deal?

My friend, these receivers are practically the same, marantz has a little brighter sound,it all depends what sound you prefer.
Go for Yamaha for more precise sound. And yamaha is workhorse
