Surprisingly, there is also synchronization on devices using Android, even in many applications there is synchronization and it does not matter which device you use, it is not necessary to buy equipment from one manufacturer so that your data is synchronized. And do not forget that they pull you inside their beautiful garden, fenced with a concrete wall with barbed wire, using the ecosystem, forcing you to buy more and more Apple devices and making it more difficult to get out of it
I absolutely agree, using Android you have much more flexibility in purchasing new devices. In addition, do not forget that it has much more functionality (it is interesting when on an iPhone it will be possible to split the screen in half to simultaneously open a textbook and a calculator to make calculations and at the same time watch what needs to be counted. This is one of the many examples that an iPhone still can't do)
You can have the same ecosystem on samsung with samsung notes.. the pencil is even smaller, it feels like a real pencil and doesn't make sound, and doesn't even need to be charged ever. Also, it doesn't damage your tablet. Instead of using airdrop, which is locked to only apple devices, you can use quick share, and it works on every android or windows device..

You can send files to your computer using KDE Connect instead of Air Drop. Apple hinders the usability of it to the best of its ability by restricting APIs, but it significantly reduces the stickyness of Apples ecosystem. KDE Connect even is part of the reason I switched off of the iPad because the experience of file transfers and clipboard sync was so much worse when the iPad was involved, unlike my PCs or (Android) phone. I thought I'd miss Goodnotes, but Samsung Notes surprised me with how good it was. The only thing I miss after switching is how good the hold to snap to shapes was in Goodnotes.

as a linux ecosystem user who has been using the pinephone for years i am continually amazed every time i see someone using an ipad or when i borrow a friends iphone. I refuse to even have an android tablet but am wondering if i should reevaluate this in pursuit of better grades.
imo the ipad is the best thing to happen to most students, especially if you are coming from using paper or a laptop as your main mode of learning. Writing directly on a PDF using a real pen is just something that never gets old, and the ease of use drastically lowers the barrier to start studying. Yes Linux is nice, but the hardware just doesnt compare, the ipad is still ahead of the competition when it comes to software.
As a 40 year Mac user who has become totally disillusioned with Apple and love seeing you rip them apart, imagine my disappointment that this video dropped the day after I actually subscribed. It's almost like they got you. By the way, I might be posting this on an iPad but I watched the video on a crappy Blaupunkt TV through an Android TV box.
what ecosystem??? my android syncs all my photos to google photos no airdrop required and if i need it and can use quick share to my chromebook. My notes are synced everywhere even on iPhones. bruh get the google ecosystem today!!!
Like in my Samsung if I appear to have browser open , I can take it on my other Samsung device the moment I turned them on. Some people are just stupid as they are ignorant 😂. I my used an apple product since I love tech, but not as my main device.
screw this vendor lock in stuff. the only ecosystem thing I use is KDE connect and it works with literally everything. No need to forefit my data to anyone.
I stopped using an iPad and switched to a Surface for a bit, but now I have an iPad again. I forgot how much I actually used the continuity features Apple has. I can copy paste not just text between devices, but images and whole files between devices. I can extend my MacBook screen using my iPad, I can AirPlay my iPad audio to my MacBook, so if I’m using wired headphones plugged into my MacBook I can still hear audio from my iPad. I can even move my cursor OFF MY MACBOOK and straight onto my iPad, as if they were linked together, and I can drag a file off my MacBook and directly on my iPad without moving my fingers off the touchpad. And there’s so much more I’m probably not even thinking about that I do subconsciously. Samsung is catching up and fast, but the feature set between the MacBook and iPad is unmatched currently, it’s not just airdrop or photo sync. But who knows, if Microsoft and Samsung could figure it out I’d be happy to switch back! I’m not tied down to one way of doing things, I’ve used Windows all my life and switched to macOS when Apple silicon came out because PC laptop manufacturers didn’t know how to make good laptops anymore. I’m very interested in the Snapdragon Elite chips though.
I'm loving my iPad, Android phone, and my Windows pc. Truly the best combination ever. Oh, and if I could, I would get and android tablet any day. I guess I'm just immune to the apple ecosystem, as I love my phone more than my ipad. Also, HOW THE HECK DO PEOPLE USE MACS? Windows gives you way more control over your pc, not as much as linux though.
Ditto only I use a Samsung tablet in bed as the screen's bigger than my Note which I've used since the first one. As an oldie been using PCs since before Windows. Overlaying it on DOS just made life easier so I've never bothered with Apple. Couldn't understand when home PCs became a thing why Apple insisted on proprietary hardware/software and charged a fortune whilst for a royalty IBM allowed emulation with any PC so just about anyone could afford a version. A local guy used to build mine for half the price of a branded version with all the same internals. Apple can't rely on its ecosystem, nor its 'more secure' 'you're poor if you don't own any' marketing techniques forever.
@@tkps They especially can't say that their ecosystem is "more secure" when there's no way to tell if they're collecting as much data as google is on android. While yeah, google tracks you on android, I love android more for customizability, installing (free) open source apps from github and f-droid, being able to use the chromium browser engine (ios forces all browser apps to use webkit, unless you're in the eu), the universal back button, the ability to mod apps with ease, website notifications, and I've found many apps on android are much better than their ios counterpart (including apple music, which was made by apple). I just think the features of android outweighs the google tracking. Oh, did I mention, android lets you install custom roms, which can also remove the google tracking.
Can we talk about the fact that Apple’s $800 iPad Air has 64 GB OF STORAGE??!! That’s non expandable storage and it costs an extra $200 to upgrade to a reasonably amount of storage!
I can understand apple's pro series of tablets and PCs as artists and video editors respectively use them for their job. What I can't understand is a pro phone and a pro VR headset. There are no circumstances in which you would use those platforms (apart from testing an app in development for that device) in which you would use it as a professional.
Don’t look at it too literally. “Pro” literally just means the best Apple has to offer for X product category (except when it’s trumped by Max, but not Pro Max as Max is used there as an extension to Pro, and also Ultra trumps both Pro and Max, it’s really fucking confusing). Same way “SE” means the cheapest apple has to offer for a specific category. It’s all marketing. There’s nothing “Pro” about AirPods Pro. Just like there’s nothing “Gamer” about gaming headsets that their only feature is lighting up.
@@DerekGreen15are you on iOS 17? Works fine on my iPad mini, which makes even less sense because the iPad mini is the only one that you could use comfortably without the keyboard being split, so you would expect the bigger ones to have it.
Pretty much every bad trend in the tech industry is set by them. It’s funny how pretty much all the lawsuits being put against Apple recently stand to actually improve the functionality of their products.
You want one of the biggest tech companies in the world to fail? Not even talking about the employees that lose their livelihoods because you have some deep hatred for some reason, less players in the space means less competition means less innovation. You wonder why it’s been a game of telephone between iOS and Android features for the past 5-10 years? Because each platform makes a feature, then the other platform does market research and figures out if that feature would be responded to positively by their users, then they implement it (slightly differently but the idea is similar). If iOS (or Android for that matter) stopped, what pressure does Google have to keep innovating? None! They can just sit and rest and do nothing, while you’re still buying the phone because it’s quite literally the only option. You should be pushing for pro-consumer regulations that affect all companies, not necessarily just Apple, that increase competition in the space. Not for Apple’s downfall…
@Pax.Alotin Idk maybe but Apple sure started a lot of them especially in terms of hardware design. Namely in phones stuff the removable batteries, headphone jack, microSD slot and items in the box are practically all going extinct on phones just so the largest companies on world can price gouge us more. I genuinely can’t think of a single positive influence Apple has had on the tech world since the original iPhone.
I had a iPad pro for 3 years......hated it. Hated how Apple isolates apps. Trying to get my comic book collection down and then seen by any of the IOS apps was impossible. 2023 I found out that Samsung offered a $500 trade in toward a Tab S8 Ultra. Formatted a 1TB microSD card as fat32, dropped 200GB of comics on it along with 300GB of movies, and another 100GB of music and it was all detected no messing with the thing. It just works. 14" screen is legit paper sized. Writing on something that is the side of a piece of paper is so nice.
If you’ve heard of the new Final Cut Camera app for iPad and iPhone, you can basically connect multiple iPhones to create a live multi cam setup and edit the camera cuts on the iPad.
I went to the Apple Store the other day and tested the £6000 40 gpu m3 max with the blender barbershop benchmark scene. It was just over twice the speed of my 7 year old gtx 1070 pc! I tried the 8gb m3 MacBook pro and it gave an out of memory error on the same benchmark scene…..so much for 8gb being the equivalent of 16 gb.
Seriously though, iPad user since day 1 here. It's a great device, especially for note taking and document management, so it *WAS* a big deal for me... I eventually move away from iPads for a couple critical reason - Apple's 'Wall garden' iOS/iPadOS and monopoly App store. I am using a Surface Pro 9 5G it does what I need, but the writing and note taking experience, along with touch is just utterly crap in comparison, but I'll take a more open OS that gives me more freedom and control over iPadOS. For the life of me why can't Android OEMS make a 4:3 aspect ratio like iPads? It doesn't hurt iPad sales and the aspect ratio makes portrait actually useable, especially for note takers. Also why in all these years is there not any actual Linux tablets yet? My kingdom for a good 4:3 Linux tablet/pad.
I'm using a tablet to write this. A 200 $/€ Samsung A9+ that was included in a phone promo deal. It has all the good Apple features such as 4 gb of ram only and a small 64 gb storage.
@reaperreaper5098 And that is why I asked. To me the phone is just as good as a tablet and a PC is better than both. I am legit asking who has any reason for a tablet.
@@thecalebgibbs The biggest reasons that I know of are: Digital art Digital handwritten note taking Reading (largely amongst people that have issues reading off of phone sized screens). Portable large screen media players (mostly just something easier to carry around while using than a laptop). Although, some tablets can definitely replace a PC for some people (I'm not counting tablets like the Surface or Minisforum V3). Just depends on preference.
The thing I love the most is all my devices sync. I have my photos and notes and emails and documents and messages on the iPhone and iPad and MacBook. I don’t have to do anything. They just automatically sync. Before I had a Samsung phone and pc laptop and download photos to the laptop was a headache. The phone was good but the software sucked. I love my iPad. I went from Windows adherent to total Apple fanboy after experimenting with an older iPad. Since late 2018 I’ve been iPad and iPhone only. My iPad has been my main computer/device since…even for music creation/productiom….and I only use standard iPads. Hell…I didn’t even want a cell phone at all and only did so initially to have a “tiny iPad” with me. Yeah. I was a 44 year old tech nerd six years ago that didn’t want a cell phone. It was a shock that even an upper level basic iPad replaced everything I’d ever been doing. I’ve still zero reason to buy even a cheap laptop nor even an iPad Air (though I may…we’ll see). I’m fulfilled for now and the past six years!

Been using an S pen since the first Note in 2011. I won't be without it. Surprising how often I find myself using it even when not necessary. Just habit but beats fingers every time and I like a larger screen (never lost one either).
Speaking from personal experience I would pick a Windows 2 in 1 over an iPad. If you do a lot of video calls and have to share screen and draw stuff on screen then well you can't do that on Mac. Not only you have to buy a Mac and iPad, two separate devices but sidecar isn't perfect and it often crashes and lags. I never faced that after I bought a Surface 2 in 1.

I dont think this would work for him. He doesn't want to learn Linux currently, he made that clear when installing the early alpha of Asahi back when it was still Arch based. Also he has to edit videos, which is a major pain especially when using Wayland, which I think is enforced with Fedora 40. Ive not gotten DaVinci Resolve to be stable on Wayland yet and KDEnlive and others have a far smaller feature set. Also as he is very used to Final Cut, I doubt he will want to switch. Linux has a market, especially with people that grew up knowing of its existence and maybe even trying it. Theres a reason Apple, Google and Microsoft give insane deals for schools if they opt to use their respective devices. My personal Linux story starts with me getting in my school with a teacher running the schools systems and having us use Ubuntu Mate, while my father switched back to Windows after trying Ubuntu in the mid 2000s. Because I liked playing around with new teck, I installed Manjaro into a dual boot to try out Proton 3 after it released. Sadly some SSDs died so I switched back and forth, and I use Windows for gaming due to VR not really working well on Linux, even natively, but for working, coding and web browsing I use Arch and Fedora now. I even got my entire family and most of my friends to switch to Linux after some influencing consisting of me sharing my hatred of almost all tech companies.

He can diss and make fun of a company and still enjoy using their products, he takes equal disses at Samsung and Google too. Like I dislike Google’s data collection practices and overall corporate attitude, but I still use many of their products, like a chromium based browser, google search, and UA-cam. It doesn’t have to be one way or the other, I know many people with Android phones and iPads, or an iPhone with a PC.
@@tkps people are letting their blind hatred for a company get in the way of their common sense. Two things can be true at the same time. But some people think it’s black and white, like it’s us vs. them, like they’re personally hurt that he decided to switch back to Apple products. When your hate for a company has fostered that bad of a parasocial relationship, I could understand why you would lose your common sense. Like I hate Nestle with a passion and hope the get broken up and scattered in the wind, but you couldn’t get Thor to pry a KitKat out of my cold dead hands. A bad company I “hate” can still make a good product that brings me enjoyment in the moment. This fanboyism nonsense is just getting way and of hand, and I find that it’s usually (in the mobile space) the Samsung fanboys who are the absolute worst. I’ll see a video from the same creator, one complaining about Samsung and one complaining about Apple. The comments on the Samsung one tend to always defend Samsung (I’ve even seen defenses for the note 7 fiasco…), and the comments on the Apple one will always hate on Apple. It can actually do multitasking, which the iOS only simulate, it is stronger than an iPad, and it is still supported by Samsung (well, up to this year). I get it that this is an ad for Paperlike, but there are way better tablets with styluses than the thing without a calculator. P.s. the Samsung has DEX, you connect to a TV and it turns into a PC.
So I bought a Surface Go 3 to remotely control a printer and it was horrible for that job. But now, despite it being absolute trash as a dedicated Windows 11 laptop, I take it everywhere for note-taking and when at home I use it as an additional monitor with wireless screencast. It's honestly my favorite piece of tech despite how niche my use case for it is.

Me too. iPad mini was my first Apple device. Now I’m 100% Apple with iPhone and iPad and MacBook
Android ecosystem with google apps kinda do the same thing!
only kinda - sadly
actually not only kinda, they make it way better because you can make it your way, instead of relying on a single greedy corporation to make the rules for you, like for retarded infant (or Donald Trump)
The iPad battery percentage is a "You're holding it wrong!" moment cause it shows up in any other orientation 😂
Sam is the best tech UA-camr
as a linux ecosystem user who has been using the pinephone for years i am continually amazed every time i see someone using an ipad or when i borrow a friends iphone.
I refuse to even have an android tablet but am wondering if i should reevaluate this in pursuit of better grades.
Just get an android that supports any custom rom, like Lineage, havoc, dotOS or similar...like Oneplus, Sony or others
imo the ipad is the best thing to happen to most students, especially if you are coming from using paper or a laptop as your main mode of learning. Writing directly on a PDF using a real pen is just something that never gets old, and the ease of use drastically lowers the barrier to start studying. Yes Linux is nice, but the hardware just doesnt compare, the ipad is still ahead of the competition when it comes to software.
As a linux ecosystem user, I'd like to be able to install kdeconnect and syncthing on an ipad.
@@pasikavecpruhovany7777 KDE Connect can be installed. Apple makes the experience really bad compared to Android, but you can definetely install it.
Remember this is sponsored by paperlike, the man needs to eat
Really man? This is what you think is all about? Syncing photos?
screw this vendor lock in stuff. the only ecosystem thing I use is KDE connect and it works with literally everything.
@@tedzards509 I was wondering if anyone knows about it.
" Shame to say but I even slept with my iPad"
Yeah I think we all did. Me with my Mac, My friend with his iPhone
Can we talk about the fact that Apple’s $800 iPad Air has 64 GB OF STORAGE??!! That’s non expandable storage and it costs an extra $200 to upgrade to a reasonably amount of storage!
Galaxy tabs have micro sd card slots.
2:15 ce? 😂😂 We love you Sam
You better watch out... The linux users might kidnap that cat of yours unless you start saying nice things about the penguin operating system.
Ipad: " sam, it won't work between us. I don't support micro USB."

@@evancrazyerror Yup. Fully updated, doesn't work. It does let me use an iPhone-sized floating keyboard.
I honestly wish for Apple to fail badly.
Just so that they start treating their customers better.
Not gonna switch back to them ever, though.
I was wondering if you got the “matte finish”. But you definitely got a better deal! Well done!
I still have never had a point in life where a tablet would have been better than an other option. Who uses tablets?
I'm using a tablet to write this. A 200 $/€ Samsung A9+ that was included in a phone promo deal.
It has all the good Apple features such as 4 gb of ram only and a small 64 gb storage.
You never benefiting from a tablet doesn't mean no one benefits from them.
@reaperreaper5098 And that is why I asked. To me the phone is just as good as a tablet and a PC is better than both. I am legit asking who has any reason for a tablet.
@@thecalebgibbs The biggest reasons that I know of are:
Digital art
Digital handwritten note taking
Reading (largely amongst people that have issues reading off of phone sized screens).
Portable large screen media players (mostly just something easier to carry around while using than a laptop).
Although, some tablets can definitely replace a PC for some people (I'm not counting tablets like the Surface or Minisforum V3). Just depends on preference.

Idk why everyone thought he was some Apple hater, anyone with blind hate/love towards one company isn’t worth listening to. Like I dislike Google’s data collection practices and overall corporate attitude, but I still use many of their products, like a chromium based browser, google search, and UA-cam. It doesn’t have to be one way or the other, I know many people with Android phones and iPads, or an iPhone with a PC.
You've got what's called common sense but it's not so common anymore.
@@tkps people are letting their blind hatred for a company get in the way of their common sense.
Two things can be true at the same time. Apple can indulge in bad practices but still make good products.
Even on the Samsung ones there will always be a comparison to Apple like “atleast they’re not as bad as Apple”, it’s just crazy how much certain people think and talk about a company they supposedly hate.
Yep, It looks like Sam's criticism came from the hope that it will get better, because it would benefits everyone, by the competition.
