@SAMTIME do not use USB hubs, ever, and please don't promote it. The device can handle the data bus division but it CANNOT handle the power division, which leads to usually burning the USB port or the entire board. NEVER use a USB Hub.
That think is thinner then a smart phone (12 inch MacBook) I can promise you it wouldn’t have been even possible to make it easy to swap out in 2 seconds -.-

There is a laptop that has fairly easy parts swapping called the framework 13, but it took a lot of time for it to become a thing because they had to design a whole bunch of modular connections just for it
I think, I know the issue: you need to open it again and check all the cables, especially the screen cable, because it's really like to disconnect when you try to close the case. Also try to check all "ground" cables. I repaired a few macs and all those humming fans, when it's turning on but not showing the picture, because of a disconnected screen...
You can connect an external display and keyboard and check if it's running that way, not sure about Macs but laptops normally default to an external display if they can't connect to the internal one.

I still use a laptop that has a easy swappable battery. One switch to unlock the battery and one to pop it out. Only if the capacity was high enough for todays standard.
Back when we had removable batteries the typical life was around 3-4 hours so battery swaps were something people did often. Now we have MacBook Pro’s with blazing fast processors and gorgeous bright screens that manage to get 14 hours of battery life so having a replaceable battery is not something people care much about anymore.
I did a battery replacement on one of these for an in-law and I warned her that it may not survive the surgery as these are a mess to due a battery swap on. I managed to get it installed and it it was a no start , Then I retraced my assembly steps and had misaligned a cable on the main board It then woke up and was a success but what a turd that thing was to work on.

@@cosmefulanito5933, every other MacBook lasted at least 10 years. On the other hand, mac os has a unix kernel similar to linux and a good support for development tools. Even if upgradeability and repairability on macs sucks, they served me reliably well over the last 15 years in software development. That's something I can't say about Windows and Linux has it's restrictions, when it comes to development tools.
I know that if a device that has a type c port and the battery is too low then it wont charge that it needs a dumb charger to supply power such as a steady 5v to get the battery have enough power for the charging circuit to work again

6:20 I wouldn't recommend it because there's lots of ways for this to go wrong, but in theory if the battery is discharged all the way down to 0V* it should be relatively inert, and so damaging it during removal wouldn't be a big deal. *To be clear, I don't mean 0%. Completely discharging lithium batteries is very bad for them so battery management systems consider the battery to be at 0% when the cell voltage is much higher than 0V. It doesn't really matter if you damage a dead battery that you're removing anyway, but since you're doing something very non standard you need to manually discharge the battery with an appropriate discharge resistor or other dumb load.
It's like Apple planed that fix tutorial with the balancing it on two sticks, like they knew people will bugger it up and snap the ribbon cables " well done Apple " ;D

In my experience this is the most unpredictable MacBook to fix. Battery replacements usually last max 4 months before the MacBook gives up or starts acting funny for no apparent reason. Not entirely your fault it didn’t work 😅
I absolutely hate how the industry has moved away from having laptops where components can be easily replaced or repaired by the owner of the laptop to the exact opposite. What's even more egregious is that even when you want to get help from the manufacturer they may not do shit, even when the laptop is only a year or two old. It straight-up pisses me off that this is where we are at, and it's all because of human greed.
Hey Sam. I reckon you unplugged something to do with the display. Have you tried the dongle from Ugreen to connect it to an external monitor to see if it will show signs of life?
If you think Apple soldering RAM to their motherboards to avoid users from upgrading/fixing it was bad, they are now doing this with the hardrive as well. Look up their new Mac Mini... And what they do on their iPhone/iPad is being pushed to their computers as well. They are disabling repairs with software. For example, you replace the display in a system with an original part from another Apple device, the part is original, made by Apple just from another device, even the same model, and it will not work. Or they will disable things in the operating system on purpose to leave a crippled device. They disable things with software to avoid users from repairing devices. How much more anti-consumer can Apple be is mind-blowing.
Man I must be old cose my first thought into the video was like " why you need to disassemble it to replace the battery" and I was expecting some 18650's on the table. Didn't know this is what they do to laptop nowdays, thought it was only done on phones, either way, it is cancer .
The 12” MacBook has a small yellow button on the logic board that is near an LED that lights up when it has power. If you push that button it disconnects all power to the laptop and the light turns off. You should try opening it up and pushing that button, see if it comes back to life.
I started working at a PC repair shop and this same MacBook was one of my first repairs. Same thing happened and we never figured out why it died. RIP MacBook

I've fixing Macs for 10 years and this is the worst model to work with, also some clients attempt to replace the battery and they damaged the flex cables and other things, I really hate to work with this model, I know how you feel like when it doesn't turn on, but you can try to disconnect the battery and plug in, if the Mac turn on just connect the battery again :)
I used a string to remove batteries on several MBP without removing motherboard or any other MB parts apart from the back cover. Faster, easier and no need for glue solvent. Happy wife is happy life! 😉

It's probably hard diagnosing if it's turning on or not since the 12 inch MacBook doesn't have a fan I think.

At least we have framework now bringing back repairability without sacrificing quality
Some even had two so you can hotswap them without having to turn off.

After a repair, the 12" MacBook requires a 10 minute trickle charge with a 5 watt power supply before you connect the normal power adapter.

I used a string to remove batteries on several MBP without removing motherboard or any other MB parts apart from the back cover. Faster, easier and no need for glue solvent. Happy wife is happy life! 😉
