Hello Tony, just thought I'd let you know that I made a small contribution but it was when your other equally awesome video 'The Grande Cache Subdivision' came on. No matter I guess as long as it got to the correct recipient. Found your video when it was featured on the DJI forums. It's refreshing to watch what some may consider a monotonous video of long trains. Your expert editing of trackside and aerial shots as well as your highly informative narration was totally engrossing.
Well, I don't know what is more fascinating, the entire video or the incredible job the workers did along the mountains to what it is today. Now I know some more, and this will certainly guide me to some places next time I go! Congrats, you certainly did a great job, even inspired me with those alternate takes between grown and aerial takes! And btw, I'm also curious to see if there's some train that will get all the way to Mexico, let's see what CPKC has in it's plans for this.
@@Trainspotter3033 thank you that is much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it. CPKC did run their steam locomotive 2816 the Empress to Mexico already. We will also see freight moving between Canada and Mexico
Because they need to clear the bad air quickly before the next train comes through. It takes 35min to completely refresh the air even with that amount of airflow
in certain situations they can run east through the Mac tunnel but its rare. The east portal is access at a turn off on the highway just after crossing Bear creak westbound if you blink you miss it. You can not drive to the entrance you have to park and walk about 1km.
Thank you, There is 25miles of double track between Revelstoke and Albert Canyon and then it goes the rest of the way to Donald before double track begins again to Golden. There are sidings along the way in between,
Who cares about the music. It's video content and the skill of the videographer that counts. Tony-use Smoke on The Water for us old metalheads. Maybe you can use Sabbath's Paranoid also. LOL!
From WC USA, It seems to me that the US and Canada could tunnel bore with one of those Hugh boring machines through the Continental divide once or twice for double track and then both countries could use those tracks and then tracks could be built East and West from there through valleys at more or at decreasing grade to the East or West Coast? So someone just needs to explain to me why that would not be possible? Yes I understand that it would be expensive and would take years but it was done in Switzerland over 15 years or so but now it is done in use and saving millions of Euros in transportation costs?!
I do agree with you that building through the divide in both countries would be beneficial and yes, cost is a huge factor and unfortunately it cost even more here than it does in European or other countries, because labour costs are so high here.
Great compilation Tony. Your narrative is top shelf.
Thank you :)
Right on, Tony you have my old CPR blood pumping heart warm and alive again. Another home run, outstanding bro.

Thank you very much Scott. Glad you enjoyed it if you have any questions send me a PM.
Great video!

Why do they need hurricane force winds inside the tunnels?
Because they need to clear the bad air quickly before the next train comes through. It takes 35min to completely refresh the air even with that amount of airflow
Can trains head east on the Mount MacDonald Tunnel? Also how can one access the Mount Macdonald East Portal?
in certain situations they can run east through the Mac tunnel but its rare. The east portal is access at a turn off on the highway just after crossing Bear creak westbound if you blink you miss it. You can not drive to the entrance you have to park and walk about 1km.
Excellent video. Your narrative is very informative and educational. How much of the line is double tracked?👍✌️♥️🇨🇦

What a beautiful country we live in. Too bad we have a liberal govt who is possessed to tearing it apart . Hopefully change is coming soon.
I fully agree!
