Been bingeing the videos lately. My dad passed away and your channel was something we talked about a lot. He hated watching TV, always wanted to be out walking, but I had a hunch he'd love what you do and so I got him to check out your videos. Then he started watching more religiously than me and when we'd talk on the phone he'd tell me about what you were up to. He was the one that told me you got Rocco. Anyway, it's been nice catching up on the videos. Sort of like spending time with him. Your channel is so inspiring and beautiful, and quiet, it's not really like anything else. Mountain climbing is a dream (way too much knee surgery), so I dream while watching. I can barely remember ‘life’ pre-Rocko…she adds so much to the episodes
I can think of three reasons to come to the US this winter. 1) Tillamook Cheese..you know the deal. 2) Riding out a blizzard. and 3) You have some unfinished business with that Bighorn ram in Utah you encountered last year.......yes, it is worth a sequel!
You are really talented, very humble, very chill, and instead of being "our monkey", you can be yourself at your own pace and I think people would still enjoy your videos and support you.
I bet Rocko just looks forward to be put in your jacket for warmth. Thanks for Sharing... Forest, like I've said before your channel just doesn't disappoint, keep on keeping on.
Check your oil often and smell it. If it smells burned it might be because the engine is working hard on those trails. Look at your new oil, smell it so you know what fresh smells like. Then check weekly looking at color and smell. Also run your finder on the dipstick and feel for any grittiness. Also get a magnet and run it through the oil pan after draining and see if you find much little metal bits. Can you add an oil temp monitor to the van? Oil drips, if oil is dripping it will collect dirt, look for blacking cake oil anywhere, especially around engine seals or EGR air returns. Also, when was the last time you replaced your air filter? Don't buy those aftermarket filters, especially anything called 'high flow' air filter. You drive enough in the dirt, you want that dirt trapped before it's in the engine. If you can, use low pressure water, and clean inside the engine compartment then once a month look for oil leaks. Aftermarket oil cleaners/additives that make huge promises can also eat away at oil seals so be careful. If the inside of the engine is dirty, change oil again sooner. Oil will do some cleaning as it is formulated with some detergents and other additives to prevent build up. Write down mileage, oil brand used with each oil change if you can.
@forestyforest Was thinking more about this. Should consider your transmission, rear axle and transfer case oil as well. When were these last changed? How hard have they been used? Oh, guess you might have a solid front axle with differential? Just consider when those may need some fresh oil. If your engine has been driven hard, your transmission may want some luvin as well. If you have a mechanic you trust, that person can give you good advice. If you don't remember when these were done, perhaps start with transmission oil/filter when you get a chance. Do you have a trans temp oil gauge? Trans/engine oil temp gauges take the guess work out of how hard something is working. Engine oil, how often do you need to top it up? Also for engine health, getting a compression test on each cylinder can tell you how well your valves and piston rings are sealing. Not sure what problems are common on your engine/transmission.

You are really talented, very humble, very chill, and instead of being "our monkey", you can be yourself at your own pace and I think people would still enjoy your videos and support you.
Our dear dogs will follow us anywhere and love it, because they are so loyal. No matter their size. ☺☺💖💖🐶 Karen from Canada

Well said!
