Very helpful info (thanks, Natalie, for being a trooper!) I'm opting for Tip #5 - Hire a neighbor kid to shovel 😊

1.) Move to warmer place a travel with a R.V. 2.) Hire THE GUY with plow truck or snowblower to check on the house for 3months. (Tip well & don't be CHEAP. ) 3.) Come back in the Spring when the snows all gone with your beautiful bride with nice sun tan. & tell all your friends, family & neighbors how wonderful your traveling was at the church social... Key 🗝 to good life. I hope this will help.

    Nice Dr
BUT I recently discovered a Great wow trick, Adding an affordable Kayak Plastic & strap handle w/plastic ends, placed to give max handle slack, from Aliexpr to your lower hand part of my shovel's pole, attached with 4 - 4. x 20mm blind pulling (internal backing expanding flower) rivets, GREATLY helps reduce back pain and to flick/tilt/throw the snow off the shovels. I'm going to do all my friend's shovels. I see there are all plastic triangle handles just for snow shovels but the reviews show they break too often.
    Take care

Why is it that we pay the price later? What happens?

It's kind of like delayed onset muscle soreness. If you've ever worked out really hard for the first time in a while. A lot of times it's the next day or even 2 days later that you feel really sore. The same thing can happen when you overexert the back muscles. When this happens with the back muscles though, sometimes they stay contracted and have spasms that can be very painful. Hope this helps your understanding.

Here's another tip. Stop spending money on lotto tickets and save up for a decent snow blower ($300).
