    I did the schroth method with my physical therapist. It is hard, but I did see good results. It also helped my body / breathing get stronger. I never really how much effort you need to breath correctly lol. Once you get the hang of it, you can do it from home & reduce the amount of times you go to your physical therapist. With the results this high and reliable why not just recommend your patients for the operation, it is better done when they are young? Have you encountered times that it didn't work out with your patients, if so please explain the downsides/consequences experienced.
      I'd also like to know what you think when adults over age 35 undergo the scoliosis operation, does it generally go as well as with teens in your experience when it comes to pain relief and complications?

      @AlignTherapyUtah  5 місяців тому +2

      @@education7281 over 35 it doesn't usually go as smooth. Definitely have have a good outcome but recovery is harder.
      The reason I dont recommend the operation until they get to 45 is there are complications I have seen like infections, hardware issues, etc that I would like to avoid if possible. Also, surgery isn't indicated until 45 degrees anyway. The research is not showing as much need before that to limit progression. Most surgeons I know don't even consider it till 45 in kids. If they suggest it at lower than that, I would be wary.

      "over 35 it doesn't usually go as smooth. Definitely have have a good outcome but recovery is harder. "
      Could you explain in what you mean not as smooth for surgeries over age 35? Do you mean that they dont resolve their pain and discomfort as well?
      Also with the surgicsl complications you see with your patients like harware issues, neurologic issues and infections, do they often resolve after pt or revision surgery or is the patient just left worse off than had they not had surgery?
      If surgeries are only presribed to patients over 45 deg due to a probability of a low risk of complications, but how about those with pain/discomfort and sitting tolerance and fatigue issues with their scoliosis? Cant they have surgery to address those issues alone even if their curves are not large enough knowing there is no correlation between curve size and pain
