Former 911 dispatcher, wife of a 20 year police officer (now security agent), a mother of a 4 year old, and a girl who has lived in small towns of people who are sometimes too comfortable coming onto your property or getting in your business. DO A REPORT, if you didn't. Just for a paper trail in case you have any more incidents with him. It's called an information report, if you aren't pressing charges. I know you didn't go into details, but sounds like he could be charged with criminal mischief and trespassing, maybe even harassment since he came back and your family feared for their safety. You can always go back and tell the police you decided to press charges. If you don't want to, you can still tell them you don't want him on your property and in the future want him charged with trespassing if he comes back. If you request them to record all this info, it will be easier to get a restraining order if the need arises. Use those resources, they are there to protect you.
Thank you for this advice, it’s hard to know exactly what to do in these sorts of situations.
Good info.
Thank you for wise advice.
I would set u trail cams too
I dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
I'm glad you guys are doing well. BUT, Take care in broadcasting every precaution that you take. It's like saying this is what we changed our password to...
Good point.
Yes, I’ve learn from other UA-camrs that you should post days or weeks after changes are made. Mention the changes but not the exact places...
Of course post hypothetical statements to get all of the feedback needed by your subscribers 😉
Right don't tell all your secrets. 😊
Wishing you all the best. You are smart, well spoken good people. I’m looking forward to following you and to see you succeed. Please introduce us to the goats, one by one or in small groups. Tell us about how the goats get along with one another and your plans for the goats!
Agree with other replies, TMI for your own safety, its like over here a lot of friends that might gonon vacation don't post photos etc on Facebook & suchlike til they get home, so others don't realise the home might be empty. Keep safe guys
Trauma to Triumph......Design shirts to sell, (Front: "Have y'all seen our goats???")...(Back:Faces of the goats).......Make lemonade from lemons😜
Now that's FUNNY right there!
This is when UA-cam should provide reaction emojis 😂
Id' wear one.
Suggestion - look on zillow (or popular real estate site in your area) and see if see if your house still says for sale. I had this problem when I bought my house. People would drive up get out and look around. Had one guy try to walk into my house. He ran for his creepy van when he saw the S&W in my hand. And yes I had signs posted everywhere including all the doors. Had to email zillow and tell them to mark my property as sold before someone got shot.
Like I said just a suggestion.
Love you guys! Stay safe!
Wow, scary.
It IS on there!
WOWWA
Excellent point!!!
In the excitement of buying a new home and moving, I bet a lot of people don’t think about all the advertisements posted online. This definitely could explain all the people coming by unannounced.....Also, please do not give to many details on UA-cam about the security system you are installing. It’s such a shame we have to be so cautious.
We have about 6 acres in North Florida, we like our privacy as well. Our property has a real creek (lol) on one side and a National Forest on two sides. We do have a few neighbors but not really in the traditional sense. We can not see any other homes or people, we absolutely love it!!
Btw, we have an electric gate. My husband installed it, in Florida it’s really needed because when it’s raining (we get A LOT of rain) getting out of the car to unlock and open the gate really sucks. We also have a door bell on a post by the gate that rings in the house. When someone comes by they can alert us that they are here. This is also needed for like Fed Ex, Amazon, USPS, etc. My husband has a marine battery for back up electricity in case the power goes out. He somehow has the electricity trickle charging the battery, keeping it charged. We each have a button, essentially a garage door opener like button, in our cars and there is also a button in the house. Walking to the gate to let people in is not fun. All of this cost us about $500. And, our gate is 500-600 feet from the house. I’m considering putting a ring doorbell on the post, replacing the current door bell but I’m not sure yet if it will work that far away from our WiFi.
I hope you see my comments and I hope it helps. We learned a lot of this the hard way. Like having to get out of the car in a thunderstorm to unlock and open the gate. We also tried solar to power the gate, we are in Florida....the sunshine state...but that really didn’t work. We just couldn’t depend on it at all.
We also have cameras around the property and motion lights. We have lived here for 30+ years, in the beginning we didn’t even lock our doors but now, I am sure to keeping everything locked, it’s like a lil Fort Knox ...how things have changed. It’s a shame.
Congratulations on your beautiful home/property!! It’s so wrong that you and your poor sweet goats had to go through all of this, but at least you are all home safe now.
If I can help you with any of the gate-security system-camera information let me know.
I truly love to watch your vlogs!!
Very truly, Dixie Clendening
Don't tell everyone all the precautions you're putting up. Hopefully the person that did this or persons if not seeing you on UA-cam. May God bless you and keep you safe. Things seem to be working well for you will pray it stays that way
Lol . Yeah dont tell them but put up recording cameras and post it for us to watch ! ! !
Also wonder if the fence guy wants advertising.. do a feature video of his work and give him a boost... maybe he'll give even a better break in price....
And do the best job :) great idea.
Good idea
Yes!! Free advertising for the fence guy what a brilliant idea
You two are crazy cute! I'm new here and started the adventure with: 'The Missing Goats". This is video #2. I know I will have some good laughs, on this journey with you.
I'm so glad you're not letting negative people steal your joy! You are an amazing family, with truly beautiful souls. You make it easy to be a stive triber!!!
So sorry you all have to go through this. I remember when you could leave your keys in your car, Windows down. Door open and windows open at night when it was to hot. Sad to see those days gone.
You all please take care and be safe.
I grew up in a small town in the 50’s remember the feeling of security of unlocked doors.
@@miamivicemami I wasn’t nervous but folks became apprehensive as car theft and residential burglary increased in frequency. No idea why that happened. Larger cities made for greater anonymity. Being known and recognized by neighbors makes us accountable for our actions; just thinking out loud
I am a single lady who bought a 12 acre property... I have been nervous with neighbors who mean well.. come by to introduce themselves... but strange men knocking on my door, of course, worries me... anyways, I also ordered two driveway sensors for a circle driveway
Yikes that is crazy, I would not like that at all. I have considered buying property and these videos have opened my eyes to the potential problems. 😳
I too am a single lady on 20+ acres with a really long driveway (1/4 mile) . I know bad things can and do happen to good people but I know that God watching over me and I have never been frightened to be here by myself. Yes, be cautious and use common sense, but He has not given us a spirit of fear. God bless.
Hope you have a firearm and know how to use it ...and a few big dogs !
@@beckyluvstoscrapnsew yes I do have a hand gun and I know how to use it. No dogs of any kind. Been here by myself over 20 years and no problems. Continued blessings.
Sandra K a troll 🤬 ignore
My daughter and son-in-law with our 3 grandkids live in the country. They have driveway sensor and when it alarms Justin is locked and loaded! Glad you all are getting safe....sorry your paradise has been compromised. We all love yall and keep safe! From Montgomery al
Hi I’m from Alabama too and we know there lots of crazies here too, but some of the best people in the world too. You have a blessed day. 💜
What kind of drive way sensor should I buy?
@@vonnieandrobertdasher8662 Do not have a brand, but have it be one that has a beam/motion sensor that *sounds an alarm at your house and barn* whenever the beam is broken.
Place it down at the *entry of the drive from the main road* to give you time to look there and to react appropriately.
Installing a solar powered back-up is good if you get frequent power outages = that way no one can take advantage in a storm.
@@dross24MA thanks
@@aliceallen6239 Bad folks everywhere. I spent the first half of the day fishing a river near a homeless (tweaker) camp. I’m 69 and look like an easy victim.
That’s really not a bad price on fencing. About 4 years ago I had 7 acres fenced with cross fencing (electric wire cross fencing) and it cost $5400 so that isn’t bad at all. Good fences make good neighbors 😊
Fences and locks only keep out honest people
That's true but locks and fences slow criminals down and cameras give you time to prepare and not just be sudden surprises. But you are right if someone wants in they are coming in. Maybe these precautions will just give them the knowledge they need to protect their animals and selves better. The lights will also be an added bonus!!!!
In late fall 2019 we had the last of our 10 acres fenced off which was only 30% of it and it was $5800 and we provided telephone poles for several corner/gate points. It was just farm fence with barbed wire on top.
Yes...fences and locks don't keep people out who really want in, but it does keep my animals and chidlers inside.
Cameras and driveway alarms are a big help as well.
Also, security systems are a blessing as well. This alerts me anytime there is any window or door breeched in my home regardless if the system is armed.
Love Mr. Stivers upbeat positive attitude all the time!!
And his BRILLIANT smile and fun high energy. You are an awesome couple full of positive energy full of love n LAUGHTER. So great to see in a couple. We are in THE NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTIANS Let us know if you need any kind of help.
Good or bad if you know what I mean!!!! You can get a Government loan for a fence.
Maybe it would be worth looking into it.
Love you both...thanks for always lifting my spirits and ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS!!! BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOUR HOMESTED. IN JESUS NAME I PRAY. AMEN.

Glad to see you looking less stressed. Continued prayers for each of you.
Of COURSE we have your back-Y’all are family! Trust, many of us were ready to head that way while taking off our earrings (Jen will get this ❤️)
I agree a perimeter fence is priority! Glad the crap is settling down for y’all...love you guys! Blessings 🙏🏻💖
It will make a tremendous difference when your perimeter fence is finished, hope it all goes well, best wishes from Mike in North east Scotland.
Lol they are Americans in Kentucky. It's going to get worse.
I’m so happy for you. The fence will definitely be worth it and give y’all peace of mind.
You know what I love about you two, you keep it real, don’t beat around the bush tell it like it is. It is extremely helpful to have the information you can provide especially for a realistic view on the cost of dealing with a property like yours. I know sometimes it’s uncomfortable to talk about money, but it truly does set a real outline on what can be expected on a homestead ❤️👍
Good Morning Stiver's! Get y'all a Go Fund Me page for the fence. Last week, Homestead Heart got over $10,000 within a few days! Y'all got this! 💪❤
Yes! people love to help; it makes them feel part of the big picture. we love you and want to see you succeed.
Yesss
Doesn't Go Fund Me take a percentage of the money? Why not just send the money to them directly, this way the money goes to help them and not the Go Fund Me Account.....just a thought.
@@sandyoklahomatransient8557 the amount of people who will see a go fund me page versus a UA-cam video is huge ......the go fund me pages asking for help with things like this are always coming up on my computer if I’m looking at anything similar....I don’t think it’s a huge percentage go fund me take but I suppose they could do both options , let people donate directly if they watch their videos and have go fund me there for anyone who by chance comes across it.....hope it goes well for them , scary as hell what they’ve been through!
Yes, Homestead Heart was blessed immediately!
People love to help good people. And when good people are being invaded in this way, omg! What is going on!!!?
Might be good practice to put the goats up in the stalls at night, make some permanent gates out of those pieces you used. A lot safer at night that way. Just feed in stalls at night so they will go in expecting something. They will pick it up quick. Dolly can hang out and do her job that way.
We love our driveway alarm. We always know when we have company, wanted or not.
What kind? I have not been able to find one that does not go off all the time with wildlife.
Martha Adams they all go off when anything (animals too) break the sensor beam. Maybe install it it a little higher to only get humans & vehicles, and deer are tall enough too, to break the sensor beam. About midway height of your car window should help.
Sharon Moore where do you get driveway alarms
Smart move on Charlie, you don’t need that on the Homestead. Best wishes folks you are figuring it all out, we live and learn
P
So glad you're getting all those things done. God bless you all.
Where are you? Im in Washington state.
Hi there how are you doing I want to subscribe to to the nurse hobo or something and I can't get out of her would you know how to to get to her all my love Anita from the UK
I pray for peace for your family and sometimes you have to make hard decisions to make yourselves feel safe. Glad you posted a video today, was worried about you.
Security is priceless. Glad y’all are able to make quick improvements. 👍🙂
Hopefully the fencing will help with the problems, as others here have said, I would call y'alls realtor and have him check if it's still listed on other sites.
Now, that everything is more settled..Lock up all the animals! You are living near a MEATLESS WAL-MART. 😬
Now , I had to laugh!!!!!!! But, so true!!!
Ha ha. True.
How do you put a price on peace of mind my friends....It will be worth every cent just for that...Bless you all stay safe !!
Ya'll are so sweet, I pray God's blessings upon you! I have learned so much from your channel. 💜💜💜
You can get a very inexpensive gate alarm, we got ours for $20 at Harbor Freight. It alerts when someone pulls up. So sorry you had to go through this.
My parents had a driveway alarm. The deer could hear the alarm and would play with it. They did that several times. Would dance back and forth to make it ring.
Just love how gracious you are and can't wait for you to get to enjoying this new home of yours instead of having to worrying about all these things. All my love and best wishes ❤
Good to here the perimeter fencing will happen soon. Bless you all!
I just found you guys by accident. This is the 2nd video I've seen and I love your style already! We have nine goats and they are fun when they aren't being naughty! 😉
You have such a beautiful place and farm. Your peaceful hearts glow from within. I pray your able to get everything in place to ensure your safety and peace of mind.
Y’all have been on my mind for the last few days. I’m glad to see that you’re going to be able to get things more secure. Y’all are a joy to watch And I don’t like to see y’all hurt. Have a great weekend!
I’m glad to see those smiles! It’s all gonna work out great! I love seeing the kids playing in the pasture!
You guys are amazing and doing what is right for you. I appreciate your strength, your wisdom and your inconquerable spirit - that includes your joy, laughter and beautiful smiles.
I’m glad you guys are moving right along! It’s Great that Cameras are going up- May I suggest a nice big sign, “SMILE, YOU’RE on CAMERA!”
On my land I have 80 ach now I put a sound wire across the drive way as soon as you turn in it set the bell off in home to let us know that some one is here and pulled in
Happy you’re feeling at home now !! Great to hear you’re getting the fence you will be glad even years down the road ,even to keep deer and other animals out of your garden!!! ❤️
I love your little princess's giggle ❤
Best of everything to you!
The gates screwed over the barn looks familiar! 😊
The farm always provides!
Thank goodness things are working out with getting settled and safe! I just can’t believe what y’all have been through within the first week! But y’all still smile and have such a happy warm attitude! Love you all from North Ga!!
Those beautiful children laughing is worth everything ❤Prayers for you guys. We have had problems before too. We have felt unsettled too. Yall are gonna succeed and new neighbors will embrace you in your new community. Once it settles down, im hoping your privacy is honored and respected.
Been praying for you all.. A cam right by the gate in the front would be awesome. This way you can know.. Also cameras on all corners of the property like 360 cams.
Yall got this. Standing your ground. Pretty soon it will be a fortress stive tribe style!
God is your #1 security system . Prayers will continue. Blessings
Beautiful! Just love your new place!
Oh and by the way sir don't tell everybody what you're going to do on UA-cam some things is best left to yourself if you know what I mean
That is wonderful news so happy for your family! It is so important to feel safe in your home. Love your videos and the farm life, was something that I always wanted to do❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stay safe stay well much ❤️ love. Give those kids a hug for me! Glad to see your smiling faces was very worried about you! ❤️🙏❤️🙏
Jen & dear Hubby, the HOLLARS spent time walking around the perimeter of their new Homestead daily the first year to get a feel of it getting to really know the lay of the land. This new home sweet home takes some time to feel it’s yours deeply & all its ins & outs. Blessings are abounding absolutely!
See I knew I’d miss some things! I’ve been following y’all for over a year until I decided this winter to go social media free. 🙄 I’m on a homestead also and hardly leave but I decided to take a break from social media, we haven’t had cable in years so no tv either. Just enjoyed my family and especially my grands. Did a lot of baking and soul searching. ☺️ It’s garden season here in southern Oklahoma( and kidding season, one new baby goat😍) anyway, it’s garden season and I have to follow y’all for tips and of course great laughs. Y’all taught me how to do a lot of my canning last year! Now I gotta catch up. So thank you and as always sending love and prayers from Oklahoma. God bless
I love watchingbyiur children frolicking in the fields. I especially enjoy your daughters love for tutus. Enjoy this time. A flip can switch an there will be tutus no more around the age of 7 or 8. I know you've had a hard week but in the background of your life I see beauty everywhere. Your children, the land, trees, each other. The love you have for all.
So many hard but positive decisions for the safety of both the family and the animals. You are definitely doing a great job securing your future!!! It is also great to see you both smiling today!!!
I am loving the new property! Glad the goats are settling back in.
