If you come across discarded non working chest type freezers you might want to rescue them and store your bags of animal feed in them, keep the field mice out of the feed bags.

Get some large (table size) paper and draw in the structures that are on your property already (try to make them to scale). Then get colored construction paper and use a different color for each years improvements. Make them to scale. Then lay them where you think you want them. If not happy, move them to another location. Its a lot easier to move a piece of paper than to be unhappy, or tear down & rebuild where you think it might be better.
Also this makes your future projects "fit in" to the spaces you want them and when you are done, its a great memory piece of where you started & what you did when.

Oh great idea for moving the gate back. That is how I planned my entrance. I am allowing enough room for my 4 door Dodge and my 4 horse, horse trailer plus a little extra space. This way the gate will be closed, I can get in the driveway off the road. Then when there are no animals I can open the gate & drive thru safely. The same with leaving. Also build a small building/ box to house any items that are shipped to you in bad weather for when you are not home or busy on the homestead. Instruct delievery drivers to put items in the box. You can add a lock if you feel the need for one.

    Oh, happy days!! ♥️🇺🇸✝️☮️
Ps...I would definitely put that fridge in the garage!! ( not the basement! Who wants to go up and down stairs with all that goat milk plus extra cold drinks and other stuff??😩). After you get it all cleaned up from the goats, that is!! Hah! Your dining room deserves to be it’s beautiful self!!💞

We can see the smiles on your faces and it so awesome to see ... pride, joy and anticipation! That fence is awesome ... SO AWESOME! I laughed about the dirt we had to have someone unlock the outside doors of the store to buy some bags of potting mix today. It was frozen like a rock so I will have to let it thaw in the house. Take the doors off the refridgerator, we had to, to get it in our old house, put in it in the basement for over flow, on large grocery hauls and canning season you will need an extra fridge, the one you have is too nice for the garage!!!! Now find a cheap small fridge for the garage for cold drinks and milk.

Absolutely if that fridge goes outside into a garage you will just see it get pitted up and look sad as well as start to run less effectively due to the environment. Not to say the best place for it is in the basement but the environment in the garage will just trash that thing.

I was watching you both move the refrigerator around and was thinking: why don't you swap the corner cabinet & the refrigerator. Then the farm fridge would be closer to the kitchen and you can see both pretty cabinets when at the sink or walking in the room. They will also be in a less traveled area. I personally would remove the door to the dining room as you probably never use it. Keep it for another project down the road. Love you finally getting back to your " show & tell" routine that I enjoy so much. Was really missing the animals, so was happy to see them! Your excitement is contagious and by the smiles on Jen, Wyatt & Rae Rae, this move was worth all the stress of the past few months. God bless

By her not being able to go forward she learned to back up instead and I have had no issues since its kind of funny because now if she gets close to the fence she snorts and backs straight up 😄

My husband & I just bought our home & we have really clay and very alkaline soil (Which is everywhere where we live, every house we've ever lived in has had clay soil), but thankfully, we found a place that sells decent compost for $15 a cubic yard, which helps the fertility & brings down the pH. I'm putting in a pretty large cut flower garden next year in addition to some raised beds for vegetables and a ordered enough compost to put down about 6" in the cut flower garden so that I can easily throw my transplants in the soil come Spring. For my raised beds for the vegetable garden I am building the beds in the getting some partially broken down twigs and branches from a friend's property and putting them in the bottom With shredded paper, cardboard, and partially composted grass clippings & leaves, & then filling it up the rest of the way with soil to save $$$...

You might be able to go to a junkyard and get a matching tailgate from another vehicle. We did that once, cost us about $50.

I just love that everything is falling into place and has calmed down for you all! Loving what you are doing in your beautiful new home! Mine might be an odd request... what is the name of the maker/style of the navy blue hoodie you are wearing Zach? I've seen them before, but can't seem to find one like this one! It looks really good on you! I'd like to get one for my hubby. Thank you!

I think the piglet's name should be moomoo. And the hutch doesnt look like a Hoosier cabinet. I just looks like an old hutch. Doesnt look new or painted with crackle paint. I have used crackle paint and it doesnt crackle that big and deep. And I have a Hoosier cabinet that I use in my breakfast nook area for our coffee bar. Love it. As no body has to be in my way in the kitchen to make their coffee. We have a Keurig, but dont buy the pods. We just bought the reusable ones that you fill with your own coffee. And I use the little filters. That way you have no grounds in your cup. Love the cabinet. If you seal the paint. Make sure you get one that doesnt make it glossy or shiny. It would take away from the age and patina. And using our Hoosier for the coffee bar. All the coffee, extra water to fill the reservoir, the little filters, sugars etc. All fit in all the storage areas. I finally found a real modern use for it after owning it for 20 years. Love your new home. Really christmassy!🎄

We just recently moved to a new property too, and we just had someone come and take a squared up drone shot of our whole property so we could plan everything out! I highly recommend, if you don’t have a shot like that already! It’s made the planning SO much easier!

Do you have a mud room? Granny always out her freezer and extra fridge in the mud room. Love the fence around your property, and the change at your gate. This should make a difference with keeping your critters in.

The wooden gate and fencing will add an charming look to your property. The advantage would to have a solid place to hand camera to see who is there.

What i would do is put the fridge in the garage then put the hutch on the wall the fridge is, and if you CAN, move the corner hutch to the opposite corner where you have the big hutch in the video. I love interior decorating. Love the big hitch! Good find!
