First rule of permaculture- watch the land for a year before deciding where is the best place to put what. Refer to Joel Salatin or Justin Rhodes permaculture principles and decide your zones. Zone 1 kitchen garden, use your animals to prep the land. This time next year, plant the orchard.

I thought it was absolutely beautiful with the children running all over the place. When I was a little girl where we live we could go outside all day we lived on what they called a hill several people lived on that Hill and the kids ran the hills all day. We go home for lunch or a neighbor might Feed Us they watched us they made sure we were safe and we couldn't do anything we weren't supposed to do or they would be letting our parents know. It was such a wonderful time even during the winter time they would build fires on the hill so we could warm ourselves and stay out all day. You are such a blessing I know it is stressful for you two and you make it look easy but I know it's not. My favorite thing was the pigs I love pigs but where I live I can't have them. I pray that you find buyers for all the little piglets my favorite one was the orange female she was adorable. May God bless you and your family

Just a small tip when hanging stuff in concrete walls just add a few holes in a long board and that way it's less holes in the wall and it gives a solid board to add and remove this to the walls without a ton of holes it the actual structure..

My Papa Brown was an engineer on a Steam Engine Locomotive. My parents bought each of us an antique train bell back in the 1970's. The neighbor kids and ours loved playing back in the woods and the Creek. When the neighbors or we needed the kids to come to the house, I rang the bell, all of them knew come to the house immediately.🔔 What a life saver that was 🥰👍👌 We did let the kids ring the bell on New Year's Eve. 🔔
I would leave the trees and brush up at the road if you plant your garden near that part of your property. The exhaust from the vehicles can contaminate your produce.
Your children are going to have so many adventures and memories growing up on your homestead. I'm so happy for you guys and God's answered prayers for you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Have a blessed day, stay safe and healthy 🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👌🙏🦅🗽🇺🇸

That sofa is PERFECT! good job Jen! Don't do perm fencing. Try to do paddocks for the animals...rotate them. Grid the area off and rotate them section by section so that the grass will always have a chance to grow back. They will also be fertilizing each area as they go and your soil will be rich! Sell and rebuild the barn. You will be much happier with a barn that you have picked out that suits your needs for your animals. JEN! I have the same rain boots! lol I just got them for my birthday from the hubby :) Kids these days know nothing about the street lights! Your garage is a BEAUTIFUL space! Lay cardboard down and tarp it....for your garden area. Leave it all winter and it will be ready for spring! maybe even throw some manure on top of the cardboard...and all those BEAUTIFUL LEAVES too! I'm excited about all the projects your guys have, I love seeing how you put things together and improvise! I used your raised bed idea from the sawmill wood, it is great! Do yourself a favor and do soil testing at the site you want to put your garden. The soil test will tell you exactly what your soil is needing for you to amend it this winter and be ready for the spring. Check at your universities on which one does the testing. Look at finding a local Master Gardener in your area that knows the soils and plants. Good luck and blessing to y'all from Texas.

I would utilize as much ground as I could for hay production. It is already being cut and baled, so keep that up. Most hay outfits will cut and bale on the halves. And find someone who doesn't spray herbicides. If it's maintained, baled multiple times per year, there won't be weeds anyway. Then the hay waste is suitable for use in your garden.

It was a cattle panel framed with 1x2's and then 2x4's on the ends. We had a 3ft welded wire fence around our backyard garden to keep rabbits out. We did a similar panel but with the welded wire framed with wood and added some planter boxes on the outside for strawberries. If it is, and if it’s still AEP there, you can call them for a make safe... they’ll send Asplundh to cut everything away from the power line so you’re not risking electrocution. Actually, I think every power company does that, even the recc. ... it’ll get a lot of the work done for you, for free.

All of you look so much happier, not that you were not happy at your old house. But, the children are having so much fun running and playing outside where children need to be at, but I am a old lady and that is where I was all the time. Please try and keep the old barn please. Hugs and Loves. May God Bless you and your family

Your property is gorgeous!! I'm so happy for your family. I have here at my home electric fencing for my dogs, which has worked out wonderful. When I moved to my new home in January, living in Michigan, unable to do the underground fencing. Reached the eletronic fencing. Plug in anywhere, able to adjust area dogs can roam. All the dogs need an electronic collar. I purchased pet safe, five years ago, still very happy with my purchase.

Some good salvage off that little barn. So many possibilities for that property.

Think about that invisible fencing. It only works to keep your dogs in, it does nothing to keep anything else out!! Also, some dogs are so determined to get out that they will bear the pain for a minute to bust across the electric area!! Very expensive , so think hard about it !! I love the sounds of trains, it is better than the raceway that is 5minutes down the road from me! Make "To Do Lists" for your property, so you don't overlook anything! Get some cheap plastic bins for some quick nesting boxes or milk crates! Congratulations on your new place. Many years of memories to be made here! Put up a swing in that tree with the crooked limb! It would complete the look of the pasture! God Bless!

What pretty little piggies ! I hope you get a good response and that you do not have to send them out.( as that is an extra expense.) I love your little farm. Your living room furniture looks great and I like the color. It makes me happy to see you happy. Why are the dogs out front ? Wouldn't it look nicer with the dogs out back? Or have one good dog inside and the rest out back? Just wondering.

Please Watch the cats with those recliners, make sure they aren’t inside before you shut them. You’ll lose a cat if you aren’t careful.
    The house just looks great!
