I have this car! I’m working on restoring it now. Mine is a Mach 1 automatic with a 428 cobra jet with an automatic trans. But she need some tender care with rust. Good video bro!
Good informative walk around, thanks. Doing my own but a 302. Car I have has just about all the original stuff and I even have the owners manual. Getting a Marti report next week. Dad got it off the first owner in the late 90s. It was a no accident daily driver with almost no rust 117,000 original miles. It’s already in for body work frame off rotisserie style.
Mileage based on parts is a pretty tough sale as over the counter stuff was plentiful for a long time. Its really really tough to nail down mileage on this old girls unless they sat inside their entire life and mother nature didnt have her way with them. This car is a hell of a find and was a hell of alot of fun for some guy/gal back around Xmas in 1970 . All they had to do is bolt on some slicks and that car was fairly dangerous. Ive seen a couple back in the 80s when I was of course too stupid to grab it instead of searching for the R code MACH I have now.... Cant remember what trans combinations were there but we kind of frowned on the Qs . Just an example of how times change and how you look back on how ignorant you were even as a person that was very into mustangs... I know your purpose was for sale but thanks for sharing the video anyway. Its good to have this visual aide for many folks that end up with one and are trying to get it back together or just folks that have never seen just how plain jane these monsters could come.
Know a guy locally who restored a black on black on black 1970 Mustang GT convertible with a 428 SCJ 4 speed track pac. It is like 1 of 3 made in this configuration.
Wow that it’s quite the rare combo! I’m restoring a black 1970 GT SCJ 4-speed car (exactly like this one but with a shaker) that should be done soon. Tell that guy with the convertible he needs to have them as a pair 😉
Yeah that’s always the conundrum once you’ve restored them to original, they become trailer queens. This car is definitely a guilt free driver in its current condition.
Not quicker than a Boss 429 . I have a 69 Mach1 Q code..Block number C8ME and they don't run like everyone thinks . Mine was a turd . My dad's 70 429scj Torino walked all over mine . Took my original engine out and put a 445 stroker in it. Have the 428 yet sitting under the bench
Poetry in motion
Sleeper indeed! Drive it, enjoy it and then restore it. Wow!
Agreed! It would be a fun car to play with.

Thanks! Currently in the middle of restoring another one just like this car. Got to love the 428CJ
That look's great I would not change a thing!
Thanks!

Oh man listen to those 4 barrels open up!!!
Music to my ears !!
Definitely a treat to listen to
I had a 1970 torino and the power steering was so easy you could turn it with 1 finger. Used to impress the girls

Absolutely Gorgeous.
LOVE it! :D
It’s a car. Drive it. I have a 69 428scj that’s just sitting without an engine and I’d love to drive it arounf. Enjoy it
I have a 1970 428scj r code . I'm getting close of have it done. And It is just like yours. It's not a mach1. Your car looks like a nice.
This is the engine you hear when you watch the movie Christine.
Seriously did you wash the windshield with mayonnaise?
Vaseline

Not a fake scoop - the shaker was ram air and had an electric switch on the dash to open and close.
Very nice, rare fastback! What kind of price would you put on this car?
Thank you! It sold for $74,500, you can check out the auction details in the description.
@@VistaCollectorCars that’s great, though I would have guessed closer to 90!
It's Sinfull
That car would never see a concourse or trailer. I guarantee more people would see it and enjoy it than a bunch of concourse snobs.
Definitely a concours candidate but we will see what the new owner decides to do with it.
Is car still available? Price?
Sold. The auction results are in the video description if you’re curious
The car is back available if you are interested.
Would cost six figures+ to restore the car to Concours level and then you couldn’t really drive it. Keep driving it as is and enjoy it!

Only original once.
Its nice it sounds like its running on 7 cylinders.
it has duel 4 barrels thats not factory
True. The intake manifold and fueling setup is definitely not original.

With the overall condition of the car, I hope it gets left as is...Theyre only original once.
It is being left as-is for now. The new owner is addressing some of the issues to make it more driveable and enjoying it!
Its only original once.
This is true
Would never restore it, just remove the ugly tires
Not really a "sleeper".
It just doesn't have the cheesy options, like the fake hood scoop, or fake woodgrain dash.
This car is for sale on the live auction site, Bring a Trailer!
